This is a wonderful book for toddlers, preschool age children and early readers. Bear is going somewhere, but he's only going to hint at where. As he travels, his other forest friends will join him on his way to his destination. The illustrations are colorful, inviting and wonderful to look at. More than that, they are so well done that they support the story and will also help young children with the concepts relating word to image. I think a large part of this is due to the repetition. It supports that cognitive function and the repetition offers the predictability that early readers use to build confidence. This is a great book to add to a personal collection and the public library. It would be great for read alouds, and it would be a wonderful gift for a family with young children expecting a new baby.
A great little book for younger readers! I was in love with how it progressed with all the animals building up to visit the baby mouse. It was beautifully illustrated and conceived and i'd pick up another picture book from this partnership.
I am going to feature this book on my Mommy Reads with me Blog! There is a new baby to meet and boy is he cute!!! I like how the book teaches order and repetitiveness for cognitive memory building! A fast fun read that will preschools and toddlers will love to hear over and over!
Bear is going on an adventure. He is going to see someone with a pink belly, a squeaky nose, pointy ears. Various friends will join along. A lovely book about a new baby.
The bear takes a walk in the forest and many animals join him in his journey. We see that they are welcoming a new baby mouse. Colourful and interesting illustrations. Thanks to netgalley and the publisher
The illustrations of this book are adorable! Lots of woodland creatures to see the new baby mouse whom they all adore already :)
Little bear picks up friends along the way to see a newborn baby mouse. Squirrel, fox, cat, goat, rabbit, etc. Each pages asks where the troupe is going. In the end, they find the "cute" baby mouse. We hope the animals wanting to kiss the baby mouse doesn't encourage children to try to play with mice or kiss them! Cute illustrations, however.
Very cute text and accompanying illustrations. Littles will love the cutesy characters of familiar animals.
Cute book about a newborn mouse, but it was difficult to predict the last character. I found the book confusing so I can only imagine kids would too? Good opportunity to point out body parts and learn some good words though, but that is about it.
“Where is Bear Going” wasn’t my favorite, but it is a good opportunity for parents to teach their kids about where eyes, noses, ears, etc. are.
Super cute illustrations! Bear starts his walk to see some sleepy little eyes. On the next page he meets up with Squirrel, who comes along to see some cute little ears. Then on the next page they meet another adorably illustrated little animal friend, and again on the next page, and again, until they finally go see the sleeping little newborn baby mouse. It's also fun when reading with a small child, because each page focuses on a body part of the baby mouse they're going to see - eyes, ears, nose, mouth, and belly - and you can have your child point to their eyes, their ears, etc on each page to make the story a little more interactive. It's a very short, very sweet read.
This was a cute story with sweet characters. I recommend this book for the littlest ones -- it seems like a story they would really enjoy. The ending is adorable. The pictures are well done and cute -- wonderful for those that enjoy animals too.
A beautifully illustrated book for young children. I loved that it was open ended and allows the reader to engage the child in answering!
"We are going to see a little pink nose!" The reader can see which animals the child comes up with that have a pink nose, which is great fun for the child. The little ones I read to where overjoyed when their guesses where correct! Even when they guessed a different animal, they immediately wanted to read it again so they could guess again.
You could take this story further by counting the animals, discussing which live in a forest environment, and the repetitive language of the animals following each other is great recall!
Great for introducing a new baby into a family as they welcome a new baby mouse in the end!
Recommend for ages up to 2-3 years old!
Where Is Bear Going? written by Mark Janssen and illustrated by Suzanne Diederen tells a delightful little story about Bear taking a walk in the forest. Where is Bear going?
Along the way Bear meets Squirrel, Fox, Rabbit, Cat and Goat. Each one joins Bear on his walk to welcome a new baby to the forest.
This book is rated for toddlers aged 18 months and up. The cute whimsical illustrations are large enough for the reader and toddler to count the animal friends and to touch the body parts mentioned in the story.
Where Is Bear Going? is the perfect gift for a toddler expecting a new baby in the family! It would be a wonderful book for Nursery Schools, Playgroups and Kindergartens.
Special thanks to NetGalley and Clavis Publishing Inc.,New York for an advanced reading copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
A super cute book about a little bear who is going on a walk to see "sleepy little eyes." Along the way, he is joined by her other animal friends. We find out that they all are going to see a newborn mouse. This is such a cute book for very young children. The illustrations are simple, yet so cute. A great bedtime story or really anytime story for parents to read to children and discuss the individual animals and what they might be going to see based on the information given.
Where is Bear Going? is an adorable book for toddlers where the forest animals are all going to meet the new baby mouse. It offers some practice with some simple naming (nose, ears, cheeks) and has engaging and beautiful illustrations.
Thank you to Mark Janssen, Suzanne Diederen, Clavis Publishing, and Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.
Absolutely adorable albeit it's a little unbelievable that a cat would go to the birth of a mouse...
An adorable little book with beautiful illustrations. I read the story to my three year old niece and she enjoyed it. The "sleepy little eyes" and a "sleeping mouse" worked perfectly as a bedtime story.
Such an adorable book! It has so many cute woodland critters going on a little journey into the woods!! Fast read with great pictures!
Bears walks through the forest on his way to see something special. Along the way, some friends (Squirrel, Fox, Rabbit, Cat and Goat) join him on his walk.
A sweet story with simple wording and cute artwork. A good book for toddler age and up.
