Storytelling at its finest.

Sadie Mann wants to have a baby. And for years, she wanted that baby's father to be her lifelong crush, bull rider, Rory Douglas. She would even travel around the country to different events just to see him. But she never had the courage to talk to him. When Rory finally returned to Marietta, Sadie had already moved on from him and was planning on using a donor for her baby.

Rory first spotted Sadie in the stands two and a half years ago. He didn't know anything about her, but liked to think of her as his angel. There for the rodeo and then she disappears. The night Rory got in a bull named Hammerfall in Clovis, California, his angel couldn't save him. His luck ran out and he suffered a severe injury. He was lucky to be alive.

Rory is now investing in properties and returned to his home town of Marietta Montana to check out an apartment building. When Rory discovers his mysterious angel was living right there in Marietta, the town he grew up in, he knew he had to know her. Sadie confides in Rory about wanting to have a baby and how she planned to go about it. But Rory has an idea all his own. He wants a family with Sadie. They decide on four dates to see if they are compatible. With a little luck, they both just might get what they desire.

I loved this book. Both characters had such a sadness in their past that it seemed they were perfect to help each other. With new goals in their lives, and Sadie not wanting to budge at first, it was fun to see them come together in the end.

Miracle on Chance Avenue by Jane Porter is a fun Christmas read that will bring hope to many.
Rory Douglas is a rider on the American Extreme Bull Rider Tour; Sadie Mann has been in love with him for years and follows his career as well as showing up at some of the events but always leaves before speaking to him. They both grew up in Marietta Montana and their lives are intertwined by a tragic event that happened when Sadie was thirteen. Rory comes back to Marietta to handle some business and Sadie is the realtor who meets him with the keys to the house he is renting under the name of Ron. They are both surprised! Rory does not remember Sadie, at first, except as the mystery girl at tour events. The small town means they will run into each other often. Will they decide to meet intentionally and become good friends or more? Will each one’s fears from the past prevent them from having a future relationship?
The story is well-written and there are many twists and turns to keep the story line interesting. There are several typos that at times makes for confusion, at least to me. It does not take away considerably from the overall story, in my opinion, but annoying. The characters are described in detail and I felt I knew Rory and Sadie well. I could understand and anticipate some of the actions. I give this book 4 of 5 stars for the typos issue. I recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet Christmas read with characters who are realistic and deal with real life issues and baggage.
I received an advance copy of this book through Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.

The tragedy at the Douglas Ranch devastated Rory and his surviving siblings. It also left Sadie Mann, a friend of McKenna, feeling guilty. After all her birthday sleep over was why they weren't home when the murderer struck. Now Rory is back in Marietta, he wants to come to terms with the past. Can he and Sadie have a future? She is determined to live her life to the fullest even if she can't have Rory. She wants to have a baby. I admire her for her courage to be a single mother. Rory calls her his angel, but he's never been able to face the past. I didn't want the tragedy to destroy him. His attraction to Sadie is powerful and touching. I was hopeful that they would get their HEA. I love Marietta and her people. It's always good to visit. This story is an emotional journey. Jane Porter has written characters struggling with their past. I cared for them and wanted them to get their miracle.

I will not recap the premise of this book since you can read the description supplied by the author.

This was a sweet and refreshing Christmas story. It had no foul language and no sex scenes. I found that the attitude of no sex before marriage awesome! Jay Leno once said that if you couldn't be humorous without foul language, then you were not a true comedian. I believe this theory can apply to a book as well. It does not need sex and bad language to be entertaining. You can leave this book on a coffee table and not worry that your teenager might pick it up and read it.

This book is well-written and the characters were people that you rooted for. This is the first book I have read by Jane Porter but it will not be the last. Kudos, Jane! A great Christmas story with a HEA ending. A perfect book to set the tone for the Christmas season.

I received this book in advance of its release date and happily share my honest opinion.

Miracle on Chance Avenue by Jane Porter

Book starts out with Rory Douglas and he's on the bull when he sees her as they open the gates.
He recalls seeing her at every rodeo stop along the circuit but she's never approached him. He knows she's there for him.
Sadie has followed her impossible dreams and she has followed him throughout the rides and even went in to see him at the hospital when he told her to get out. She just wants his baby but she can never tell him. Then her mom died and that crushed her.
She had worked at Big Sky but now works in town at her own business and she's saving for a family. She works at the real estate agency also and is waiting for a man to come to the house as he's rented it....
What I liked about this story was the theme-how do you tell someone that you've had a crush on that you want his baby. She's so determined and he remembers her at every stop. He feels she is his angel-looking out for him. He'd never settle down but he'd marry her in a heartbeat.
He'd done the renovation work himself in the house and had rented it out over the years. She has no clue.
She refinishes furniture that others throw out everything learned from her mother. Love hearing of one using their own hands to make a living and how they do it.
Loved hearing of the tree where you select a gift to get for a child and it strikes him as he's a caring man and the scholarships he set up for others in town over the years. The bad memories are leaving and good ones are taking their place.
Lots of heartache and fun and laughs also. When I started reading this series the Indian Paintbrush flower are the seeds I bought online to grow myself because the struck something in me and I knew my garden needed them also. Liked the praying for a chance, that's all he needed.
Loved hearing of the activities they do during the season and finding the perfect ornaments depicting the season.
I received this review book from Net Galley and this is my honest review.
