So I read this book way back early this year and never realized that I did not write a review for it!! How that happened is beyond me because this book was amazing!! If feels like I read it yesterday, I remember it so well.

If you have never read a Lise Renee Jones book before, you are missing out!! I have enjoyed her writing for quite some time and this book is just another reason why I will always read anything she writes.

This book is all mystery and suspense with a tad bit of romance and I mean tad bit - miniscule even and that makes me love this book even more!! Lisa does an amazing job with her all details, especially with Lilah and her inner workings.

Lilah is a fierce, no-holds-bar badass woman. I lover her. I absolutely loved getting inside her head and seeing how she works through every thing. The fact that she is able to get into the mind of some disturbing people and come away with what she does, blows my mind away - I love it.

I love the story and the plot that Lisa is building. The lies, secrets, twists and turns keeps you right at the edge the whole time. I love that she has me trying to figure this out and just keeps adding more and more to the plot, deepening things further. LOVE IT!!!

So yes, as you can see, I have no idea what I never wrote a review on this back when I read it, except for the fact that I suck. LOL I have no excuses, I just flat out somehow forgot.

If you are a lover of mystery and suspense - look no further than this book. The next book in this series comes out soon, so start reading now!!

Holy moly, I need more! Especially, with an ending like that! LRJ has written another outstanding book! This is a murder mystery that keeps you on your toes from the very beginning. The fact that I feel like I am on the investigation right along with Lila makes it really interesting. The book does end in a cliffhanger, so be prepared for that! I had no idea and now I can’t wait for Murder Girl. If you like murder/mystery/suspense, then this is the book for you! I highly recommend this book!

As always Lisa did not disappoint with her book.

“ You will never out-profile the profiler”
I have always been a fan of Lisa Renee Jones and Murder Notes was nothing like she wrote before and it was worth experiencing!
This story is full of angst, suspense and mystery-it was a real page turner.
Lilah Love AKA Murder Girl goes back to the Hamptons to solve a case. Lilah soon realises that this case is too close to home.
The plot is great and the storyline very captivating. What I Liked the most is all the different motives and characters from The Ghost to Kane. Lilah is the driving force of the story and it is pleasant to see that it is a woman that captures all our attention- she is a compelling character. She is one of the best profiler in the country but the other characters are also in leading roles.
Impeccable and intelligent story.

Murder Notes is about FBI profiler Lilah Love who is assigned a murder case in the Hamptons. Agent Lilah returned to her hometown in search of clues regarding the four murders that might be linked between LA and NY.

Lilah is being threatened by someone who knows her secrets. Threatening notes are left behind as a reminder she needs to back off. Lilah confides in her ex-boyfriend Kane to help her sort out the dark and haunting reality of these murders.

Lilah is a snarky character full of sarcasm and angry bouts of f-bombs. Lilah rubs people the wrong way in this town. Her homecoming wasn’t warm and fuzzy. Lilah is pushy, direct and demanding yet given the type of job she has in an all male environment I suppose it’s justified. She needs to assort authority in order to be taken seriously. She might be a good judge of character but her jumping to conclusions with hot headed attitude isn’t the most productive way to get information. But it certainly stirs up the drama.

Ms. Jones writes a well thought out murder mystery involving all the steps and processes of a profiler. However, I felt there were too many variables and details to work though. Not to mention a slew of characters. I really wanted to like this story and find out what these past secrets were that connected to the present murders, but I realized those answers were not going to take place in this book but rather farther along in another book.

There was excitement and conspiracy and secrets that brought entertainment to the story, yet I’m disappointed at the length of this story and the amount of layers Lilah’s character had to go into in order to solve these murders. There’s an intricate web of lies and secrets that is intriguing yet not enough to warrant the long adventure of more books. At the way this story is paced it’s obvious this author can introduce more ideas and characters to shake up the story. While this might seem appealing to most its not to me. Without knowing how many books will be part of this series I’m on the fence whether I will return for book two.

OMG. This is hands down the best book I have read this year.

Murder Notes has everything; action, excitement, humour and a good dose of sexual tension. Lilah Love is a top FBI profiler. She is confident, sassy and outspoken. She has turned her back on her affluent family in the Hampton's but is drawn back there as she follows the trail of a serial killer. Her ex is a possessive bad boy with ties to the cartel. What a plot. You will not be able to put it down but a word of warning there is a cliffhanger, and you are definitely left hanging…. by your fingernails.

I received this book from Net Galley for an honest review.

This is a good easy read. I just found it bit slow at times, which would explain the cliffhanger ending. I guess for me, this is a bit of a drawn out series. I may or may not read the next book

I did not want it to end and can't wait to read the next one in the series. I am so excited - I found a new author to read and new series to look forward to. Thank you #netgalley and #montlakeromance for the eARC.

Thanks Netgalley for a copy to read and review while giving my honest opinion. Love this author. The cover and title are amazing but it was the blurb that caught my eye.
Agent Love is an amazing character, profiler for the FBI who has caught a case that threatens secrets from her path. Kane Mendez, an ex of Lilah's and all around Hampton bad boy. A gruesome crime has brought Lilah back to where it all happened and it's an amazing story with an abrupt cliffhanger. I will definitely be reading the next part.
I give the story five stars of entertainment. Did not want to put it down! Thanks Netgalley for a great book!

I was intrigued by this book right up until the end. I was prepared to give it a 4 or 5* rating, even tho it is written in the first person. Until the end. Nothing makes me madder than having a book just end. End with no resolution to the main story line. Fair warning to readers, this book was written to sell 2 books., the second hopefully resolving the main story line of the first. Thank you to net galley for a copy of this book.

I knew going in this would end in a cliffy… that is what makes LRJ such an awesome author in my eyes. She releases the perfect combination of suspense, sexy and WTF did I just read!!! All of it is in this new series starring Lilah Love, the FBI profiler with a Porn Star name! Cannot wait for book 2, I think I know who did/is doing all the crap, but I need to confirm!!! An amazing book that everyone should read!!! 5 stars!!

Lilah Love is a woman full of secrets. From the moment she left home, she's tried to ignore a part of her past that should never have happened. Someone else, however, is intent on swinging that closed door wide open. When an unexpected murder brings her back to town, she soon realizes that she'll have to depend on more than just herself if she's to succeed in solving the mystery that surrounds her and those she loves.

A slight departure from Lisa's usual works, Murder Notes is just as good—better, even—than what we've read in the past. We're given a headstrong—and quite stubborn, if I must be truthful—character that's determined in leaving all she ever knew behind. When circumstances prevent her from doing so, she's forced to confront the darkness she thought she could lock away so long ago.

Lilah Love isn't your conventional heroine. She's a woman who's had to fight for everything she's obtained. More so because she comes from a privileged upbringing. I like the fact that she won't let the unfortunate circumstances bring her down. She's good at what she does and she knows it.

The dark and gritty world Lisa's created is far darker than the norm, but that's what makes this new series so good. It needs that darkness in order to show us the redeeming qualities behind the character's she's worked so hard to create. There are more secrets embedded within the lives of these complex characters, and I can't wait to discover them all.

This was another thrilling read by Ms Jones. I'm going to be completely honest... For whatever reason this one didn't jump into my brain in the first few pages. I kept thinking maybe I wasn't in the right space for it so I put it in my pile to pick back up later. I know I have loved every LRJ book I've read so "it's not you, it's me" fit the bill. Boy am I glad I picked it up yesterday. I devoured every word and felt like I was CLINGING to that cliff at the end.

Lilah is a bonafide badass. I love that she is tough and has the mouth of a sailor, but her real character comes out when the cracks in her facade start to show. Kane is the perfect TDH (tall, dark and handsome) and comes with the extra Cartel edge. I love that the people inhabiting LRJ books often exist in a world of darkness either directly or on the fringe. As the book unfolds and Lilah realizes there are problems than even she hadn't anticipated, I happily followed her down the rabbit hole. I can't wait for book 2. Until then, still here clinging to the edge...

Can I have the next book in the series please? I am already hooked and dying for more. I loved that this book was different for me. It is not my normal read and that made it refreshing for me. It is more mystery than romance. It was intriguing and suspenseful and it left me questioning everything about the characters and the story. Did I mention that I can't wait for more? Yeah. You just need to go forth and read for yourself. Trust me you will not regret it.

Murder Notes (Lilah Love #1) by Lisa Renee Jones
4.5 stars!!!

“There’s a reason it’s usually someone you love who kills you.”

This is a step away from Lisa Renee Jones’s norm, this is a fully-fledged thriller that had me frantically turning pages while trying to connect dots in the vain hope of trying to fathom out what was going on…a true sign of a great one. There is a romantic undertone, don’t get me wrong, but at the moment, that is an undercurrent, the real meat of this book is a serial killer that seems to have a point to prove to our FBI woman, Lilah Love.

Lilah Love is an enigma, it is obvious she has a lot of baggage but her cold heart and ambivalence makes her hard to warm up to in the first instance. However, as the book progresses you begin to understand her and her mannerisms. Lilah is a total badass, she can more than handle herself and the way her mind works is fascinating. It takes a brave person to take her on and even braver to try and blackmail her with secrets she definitely doesn’t want uncovered.

“It bleeds because you bleed.”

The anticipation of her love connection, with Kane, is one that had my heart thrumming and this man is one hell of an enigma too. There is obviously a lot of history between these two and it is that and the ultimate chance of a second chance romance that definitely has me wanting more. But, is he all he seems? For me, I do believe he loves Lilah and has never stopped and despite his cool, calm demeanour, I am sure that Lilah is the only one that thaw and floor him. There is definitely a love/hate thing going on and for two people that were so close…what happened to separate them?

“…you don’t catch a killer by hiding from him. You catch him by getting to know him.”

The action in this book is what really keeps the pages turning and being a crime programme aficionado, this book was definitely right up my alley. A cross between Criminal Minds and CSI, this book has a touch of everything for us crime junkies and Lisa Renee Jones did an amazing job of keeping the suspense up, the reader captivated and that forever anticipation. I cannot wait for the next book in this series, it seriously cannot come quick enough.

A new LRJ series and in a genre I love??? What could be better??

Lilah Love is a sassy and smart profiler - which totally earns her points in my book. I love to read about FBI profiling. Add in some true crime and a bit of romance and this is the perfect book. Except I need MORE!!!

I love reading Lilah's thoughts and getting enough of the crime aspect to make my criminal justice heart so very happy. I can't wait for Murder Girl to come out!
