I really enjoyed this book. Although the book mentions things that happened in prior books Allison Brennan briefly describes what happened. This book can easily be read as a stand-alone. There’s a lot of action and suspense and plenty of mystery. I was until 2 AM reading, I just couldn’t put the book down I can’t wait for the next Lucy Kincaid book!
I was so excited to read this book - Allison Brennan is one of my favorites... This book is amazing. I was so disappointed when I looked at what page I was on and realized it was going to be ending soon. The author takes a very dark, often non-discussed topic, and weaves its tale with characters we know and love. Getting to know Jack's sister, Bella, as well as their back story with the Rogans was wonderful. This is truly a fantastic series of books - I look forward to each and every one! WOW! This is a definite page-turner!!
Breaking Point was hard to put down. This book focuses on sex trafficking, using young teenage girls that have been sold, taken or tricked into becoming sex workers. This Lucy Kincaid book features Bella the sister of J T a partner in her husband's business. Bella, a former trafficking victim herself, is undercover trying to find a young girl, Hope, who was taken from her grandparents, Lucy Kincaid and company must work together to rescue Bella and Hope and any other victims they can. This was a great entry in the series and I am looking forward to seeing more of Bella and finding out who this riveting character will be paired up with.
I really enjoy Allison Brennan's books. I always like the story line ad the characters. This book grabbed me from the start, it had lots of twists and turns, and I had no idea who the killer was going to be
Breaking Point by Allison Brennan tackles a difficult subject--the sex trade, especially involving underage girls. Brennan manages to illustrate this despicable practice in a way that clearly illustrates the horrific abuse without making it titillating.
Bella Caruso is undercover with a trafficking ring, trying to locate one particular girl. During the rescue of two underage girls, a policeman is murdered, and Bella's position becomes even more dangerous.
Bella's brother JT Caruso turns to Special Agent Lucy Kincaid for help, but Lucy is in a difficult situation with her immediate boss. Nevertheless, Lucy gets involved and gives all her energy to rescuing Bella...and hopefully, the young girl for whom Bella has been searching.
Good characterization of a plenitude of characters gives this suspenseful novel the depth it needs. Although there is a lot of backstory referring to events in previous books, these are seamlessly worked in and do not feel like information dumps.
I've only read one other novel by Brennan and the same combination of well-developed characters and suspense applied. This was one of those books that was difficult to put down, the pace is fast, and I couldn't believe how quickly I read through it.

"Breaking Point" by Allison Brennan is a book that was very hard to put down once I got into it. Without giving to much away this is a book that focuses on the sex trade using young teenage (barely) girls that have been sold, given, taken or just tricked into becoming sex workers. Bella, is undercover trying to find a young girl Hope, who was taken from her grandparents, while trying to stay alive herself and not blowing her cover. Lucy Kincaid FBI and RCK (you might know these names from previous Allison Brennan books) along with JT (Bella's brother) put a plan into action to get Bella out along with trying to find Hope all while trying to stay alive and not lose any innocent girls in the process. This is a very good book, very well written and you get to know the characters and how they feel as it all unfolds dragging you along for the bumpy, harrowing ride when your finally let go at the outcome you can finally take a deep breath and say ,"Wow, now that's a great book!"
Some of the hardest books to read emotionally for me are the best. This one is no different. The fight against human trafficking, which is a difficult thing to even contemplate, is the topic of this book and it's consequences. But the other part is what it does to families and how each react.
Bella lived it and is now fighting it as hard as she can. She is trying to find Hope and the is will she find her before she is killed. Her brother JT is a partner in RCK and when he gets a message from her partner that she's in trouble he vows to bring her home.
Lucy and her new boss are having problems but she never would have thought her boss would be following her. When she finds out how though will she be able to hold it together? Will she be on this case?
This book is Amazing! And I love it.
I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
This book deals with a subject that makes me physically ill – human trafficking, so proceed with caution. Bella Caruso has turned her terrible past into a weapon of her own making – herself. At first she worked with the police, but as she saw more and more of the terrible things happening to young women, she began to operate under her own set of rules. FBI agent Lucy Kincaid is approached by Bella’s brother, JT after her gets wind she’s taking on a human trafficking ring. But even Lucy may not be able to find Bella in time, to save her from the sadistic men running the ring…or from herself. Brennan doesn’t hesitate from taking on the very dark aspects of the criminal world, so readers are in for a white knuckled read
