I have had this book in my TBR for so long and I decided to go back to it. This is the story of two neighboring families who are friends and all of the things these families are dealing with in their lives. It deals with a lot of insecurities, mental issues and a lot of other issues that many people experience in their daily lives. I found the characters somewhat likeable but they all had their own individual flaws and issues that kept them from being totally open and honest in the relationships. If you like domestic that will keep you interested until the very end this is a good book to add to your TBR list.

A bit of a dull and pointless storyline and so a book that I started but failed to finish. Such a shame as I heard great things about the book.

Really good book about marriage, frienship, life, mental illness and decisions. Really enjoyed the book...... liked the writing style, the plot and the character development. Hard to believe it was a first time writer.

I really enjoyed this book. The story is about two couples and their lives. Josh and Tara and Terence and Sophia all have problems and choices to make. This book deals with love, families, divorce and both physical and mental illness. All topics are written about with empathy and understanding. This is a very well written book that is worth reading.

This is a story that dives into how life doesn't always work the way we dream of it working. Many people meet the love of their life and expect a happy ever after. Not the mounting bills a layoff can produce nor an unplanned pregnancy. And, some people find themselves 'bored' with their life and seek out excitement in all the wrong places.

That's the kind of ride you get when reading this book. The characters all may seem to have it together from the outside, but readers discover their struggles and failures. Overall, a great read for anyone who enjoys books that put a focus on the impact our choices have on our lives and the relationships in them.

I highly recommend this book, it is so good! There were a lot of twists! I cannot believe this is the author's first book. I cannot wait for her next one!

Favorite Quotes:

I feel like I’m caught in one of those Lifetime movies Tara always used to watch. It’s like, how can this be my life?

I’ve learned that sometimes you have to let go of who you were in order to become who you can be.

I realize that some chapters have to end before a new story can start… You need to talk to him. Hear him out. This is the ‘after’ that follows ‘happily ever.’

My Review:

Blaming the Wind was an exceptionally insightful and engrossing book packed with intriguingly flawed and fascinating characters. I was stunned to realize this was Ms. Harris’s debut effort, this gal writes like a seasoned scribe. The story threads were well-paced, emotive, compelling, and highly relevant, so much so, I couldn’t seem to put my Kindle down despite the clock registering well past midnight. The characters were unpredictable, alluring, annoying, enticing and erratic. I wanted to give several a hard pinch yet I couldn’t get enough of them. I am looking forward to more from this talented wordsmith and already have her second book locked and loaded.
