This is an interesting update on an old favourite. Mind maps have been around for years, but still have their uses in the digital age. This book is informative and useful, with plenty of ideas as to how to use mind maps.
Thank you to the publisher and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.
I have been a big fan of mind maps and especially Tony Buzan books for years and this is a great refresher!
A fantastic book I should have got in to this year's ago. It would gave made a lot of tasks a whole lot easier.
As a Digital Planner by day and Book Blogger by night I have a keen interest in anything related to productivity & efficiency. I found this book very practical and easy to follow. It is a simple introduction to the process of mind mapping and how this can help transform thoughts and ideas. It's full of exercises and also suggestions for how you can incorporate mind mapping into your day to day activities and improve clarity of thought. A great book either as a refresher for anyone already familiar with the concept or for anyone coming at the subject completely new.
This is a great book. It is the first time I have ventured into the world of mind mapping and this book was informative and fun. Simple but useful. I have been using the techniques from this book to organize many thoughts and it is working out great. Highly recommend
I have used mindmaps for all sorts of things over the years and have always loved them. I love the way they look and I find they make planning and thinking in general so much easier. This new book is brilliant because it gives the instructions for developing mindmaps in a very clear and concise form. As with all Tony's books the pages of full of colourful diagrams and sample mindmaps. A book like this would make a brilliant gift for young people, my first experience of using them was with revision and they proved to be a fantastic tool.. I have to admit to doing them my own way sometimes and not always by the rules, but it works for me and I love the basic concept. A brilliant book demonstrating a fantastic mind tool that is applicable to all people for all things. Thank you
I was lucky enough to spend an evening with Tony at the British Embassy in Belgium where he demonstrated mind mapping, Since then I have sort of used his techniques to assist me with some top ideas that needed in depth research and thus ordering. I thought I knew all about mind mapping and oh how wrong I was!
This book is amazing from all the examples he gives to the sessions he talks the reader through, every page is a new learning experience. I loved his dictionary association mind mapping and had so much fun trying to bring that creativity to my diagram. The ideas of when to use mind maps extend much further than I ever imagined and keeping the maps in a folder to be used perhaps at a different planning project was so obvious but hardly ever actioned before I read this book.
A great book to explain in minute detail how mind maps are for everyone and how to let the mind free itself from all the restrictions we normally put upon it.
I have been a student and fan of Tony Buzan's Mind Mapping technique for decades. This book is an excellent refresher for anyone who has used the system. It includes additional suggestions for how to use Mind Mapping in every day life.
I had hoped it would take us further in depth than the original book but I guess the author did so well initially that this book just reinforced and supported how well the Mind Mapping system has been used world wide.
Mind Map Mastery feels like a review of 30 years of mind mapping - which it is. But that is not to say it is dry - far from it. I started mind mapping in 1992 and reading through this 'state of the union' 35 years later is both affirming that I have remembered the basic principles but also a good clear reminder that I could make more of my maps. It's so well written and if you have never mind mapped it's a great and practical tour through WHY and how to mind map. Funnily enough, I have the official mind mapping software and it actually allows you to violate these laws and also does not allow you to follow some of them as far as I can tell (such as making words 3D - apologies if I have just missed this.) I really think that any serious student cannot be without this technique as it operates like our brains operate - and this has now been proved whereas when I started mind mapping it was simply speculation. Mind mapping can be used for many things but like many things you'll get more out of it if you put more time in. I have just been working on a mind map about internalising information and the refresher of the rules has made it so much more powerful.
