Bad for You was absolutely fabulous! I loved it!!

Now, confession time.....This is my first book by J. Daniels (what's wrong with me????) but I know now that I love her writing style. It's reminiscent of Kristen Ashley's earlier work which I'm a huge fan of.

I believe J. Daniels gave us a sweet romance between a down-on-his-luck hero and a heroine who has a heart of gold. Not only that, she gave me my first 5 Fangs for 2018!

Shayla Perkins is a part-time waitress at Whitecaps restaurants. When Sean Molina started working there, she opened up to him and told him most of her dreams establishing a friendship with him until he made it clear, he was not interested in her. However, when Shay needs help with a family emergency, surprise surprise Mr. Broody is ready to help her without her asking. This gives Shay a chance to get to know Stitch better and get under his skin, realizing his horrible upbringing.

Sean "Stitch" Molina is not worthy of anything good in life. At least, this is what he's sure of. He believes he doesn't deserve happiness after all the mistakes he has made. So, when pretty Shah showed some interest in him, he had to push her away until he couldn't hide his feelings or attraction any longer.

I love Shay and Sean. They were so different and yet so perfect for each other. Shay was always trying to find the positive in life. She was honest, sweet and determined. She gave Sean exactly what he needed. She was supportive and assertive. Now, Sean, he broke my heart. Poor guy couldn't catch a break. He deserved to be loved and to be happy. I'm glad he had Shay. She was the balm he needed.

I really can't wait to read the next book in the series.

Cliffhanger: No

5/5 Fangs

I received a copy of this book from the publisher/author to review for Stephanie's Book Reports.

Shayla Perkins isn't the kind of girl who makes the same mistake twice, especially when it comes to Sean "Stitch" Molina. SO when he gives her the world's biggest rejection, that's it-she is done. Until the sexy, silent unavailable Sean makes Shay a very personal offer Of course it doesn't mean he is interest in her. Or does it?

Sean has done bad things in live and he has paid the price. All he wants now is to make up for his past by doing good in the present. No one deserves more good than Shay. Beautiful on the inside and out, Shay is the kind of woman who should be cared for and protected--especially from a man like Sean. He has tried to keep his feeling for her in check, but a single, reckless impulse pulls them closer than ever before. Soon they are sharing their biggest dreams and satisfying their deepest desires. But what will happen if the only way to truly give one another what they want most is ...is to let each other go?

Oh Stitch, Stitch, Stitch....how you stole my heart. I don't know what it is about the guy but you just can't help but to love him. I will go ahead and warn you though that getting to know Sean though Bad for You is going to have you sobbing. A big sobbing ball of goo actually. His story is devastating at times and I just wanted him to jump out of that book and live on my couch where it is safe. Of course we can not forget about Shayla because she is on this journey and learning all this information right along side of you or you beside her. Shayla however is just perfect for Stitch as she is a strong, generous, funny, passionate woman. I have read a lot of books but Bad For You is just not reading it is an experience because I swear to you you will go through everything side by side with these characters.

This sadly was my first J Daniels book. I know I know, how have i not read her books before? I have not a clue. However you can bet I will be making up for it and checking out many more of her books.

I have been dying to find out more about Stitch after the little glimpses that were shared in the prior two books in the series, and I could not wait to get my hot little hands on Bad for You! When I first started reading, I have to admit that it took me a little while to get into the story as it felt like it started off a bit slowly. But fortunately that feeling soon passed and I was pulled right into the pages.

That first chapter broke my heart as we get a glimpse of exactly what kind of hand Sean was dealt in life. He never had parents that loved him and he was forced to beg, borrow and steal the basic necessities from a very young age. That background set him on a path ruled by loneliness and survival that defined him. Although he made some bad choices along the way in the name of survival, he is convinced that he is a bad person who is unworthy of love and affection and that conviction defines him. No matter what good thing comes his way, he is certain that he will screw it up or have it ripped away from him so he doesn’t even bother to get his hopes up anymore. He believes that Shayla’s lighthearted spirit and kind nature is too good for him so he tries everything possible to push her away despite wishing that – just once- he could have more.

Shayla has one of those perpetually sunny dispositions, and she recognizes the wounded animal that resides beneath Sean’s skin. Every time he pushes her away she responds with resilience until he finally cuts deep enough to make her pause. He can’t stop himself from going to her when he sees her crying in her car though, and that one gesture starts them on a path that will change his life.

Bad for You has plenty of humor filled moments thanks to Shay’s POV and her escapades with the girls, but it also has some moments that had me tearing up and getting angry on Sean’s behalf as the ugly truths of his childhood and life until he came to Whitecaps are revealed. His struggle to accept that his life has worth to those around him and that there are people who want to call him a friend was a poignant journey that had me falling hard for him. The supporting cast of characters was a mix of familiar faces from the prior books in the series as well as a group of newcomers that includes some special ladies in Sean’s life and Shayla’s younger brothers. I don’t want to give away any of the story that so you can enjoy the ride firsthand, but if you are a fan of Kristen Ashley’s books or just damaged bad boys who need a chance for redemption, then definitely grab a copy of Bad for You!

I was so thrilled to get a chance to read an arc of Bad For You by J. Daniels. Bad For You is one of my most anticipated reads of 2018 and now has been added to my 2018 favorites list!

Shayla and Sean.....sigh.....there are no words for how much I loved these two individuals. J. Daniels made me fall for a fictional character. It takes a great story for my heart to become full invested in the characters lives. My eyes are still red rimmed from crying, My heart still hurts for all that Sean went through growing up, and there is not a tissue left in this house! Bad For You brings a greater emotional depth to the Dirty Deeds series.

Shayla is a sassy hairstylist who is looking to get her business up and running, she's also a waitress at whitecaps. If you read the first two books in the dirty deeds series, you may already know Shayla has had a long time crush on Sean aka Stitch.

Sean is the cook at Whitecaps. He's a broody male with a 'no ducks to give' attitude. But underneath the tough guy exterior, this man is fighting the greatest battle of his life.

Throughout this novel, we get an inside look into Sean's past and the way he grew up. With an alcoholic for a mother and a father that left them, you can probably make an assumption to how Sean grew up, Neglected and in a loveless household. As the years go by Sean's self-confidence in himself withers away and he finds himself unworthy of anyones love and affection. My heart legit broke for Sean. I was not expecting his story and background to be this tragic and heart wrenching.

My heart started to heal along with Sean's as Shayla came into the picture. She's the strength and the love that he never felt worthy of but always wanted. I loved how Shayla wasn't about the drama, she was only about helping Sean heal and find his own self-worth. Even when ex's come back into the picture Shayla was genuine and only wanted what was best for Sean even if that means stepping aside so he can have what he always wanted, his family back.

Sean is a very complex character. there are so many sides to this man. This made the novel that much more intriguing, I loved how Shayla slowly peeled back the layers and under each layer was a different hidden emotion. My heart melted I was a puddle of goo from the start, a legit goner!

I highly recommend this novel to those that love great emotional love story, complex characters, and a true Happily Ever After!

Talk about an emotional rollercoaster. Every time I read a J. Daniels book, I fall madly in love with the story and characters. Bad For You sucked me in from the first page and didn’t let go until the end. We first met Sean “Stitch”, and Shayla in Four Letter Word, and I just knew their story was going to be intensely heartbreaking. There was so much emotion in this book, so many powerful feelings I don’t normally have while reading. Bad For You deserves more than five stars, and is definitely one of my favorites of 2018. I highly recommend carving out time to read this, since you won’t want to put it down.

Passionate, emotional and heartfelt story. I had not read the 2 previous books in this series and I can honestly say it can be read as a standalone. (Although I will be reading the others.)
The romance between Sean and Shayla was so moving and so compelling. A real opposites attract kind of romance. How they got to that point is what makes this story so special and unforgettable.
The story flowed effortlessly. The characters were well developed and relatable.
Sean has a terrible past, he's broody and solemn. Shayla is like upbeat, likable sweet she sees the good in people and that included Sean. Initially I didn't think I would like her character, but her strength came in her owning who she was and being Sean's champion. Their chemistry was amazing.
This read was just so good for me!

Sean and Shayla (Stitch and Shay) are the third installment in J. Daniels Dirty Deeds series and a super highly anticipated one at that!
Sean 'Stitch' Molina is a man who has had a terrible life. Hes done some bad things, some hes had to do, some hes chosen to do. But he's paid for his sins and now hes trying his best to walk the straight and narrow.
Shayla 'Shay' Perkins is a sweet girl with a hot temper but a heart of gold. She's had it bad for Sean for ages but hes made it plain hes just not interested.
Of the characters in Bad for You, Sean was far and away my favorite. He was so broken, so beat down, yet utterly determined to rise up and better himself. He wasnt going to let anything or anyone stand in the way of what he needed to do for his situation.
Shayla was a sweetheart, but I really didnt connect with her like I did Sean. She was a bit too.. emotional and hot headed for me. The two characters made a great couple though and I really liked how the story flowed with them together, they balanced each other nicely.
The secondary characters, for me at least, is what made this story great. Gave it all the depth. You will see what I mean when you read it.
There were lots of tears for me in Bad for You and J. Daniels has crafted together one fine story of healing, forgiveness and redemption. Great book!

Five million stars!
This was a highly anticipated read for me, and J. Daniels did not disappoint! Bad for You is the best in the series- a fantastic series, might I add. It seriously brought ALL THE FEELS. I was weeping through half of it. I just could not help but fall head-over-heels, totally, madly, deeply in love with Sean. He is EVERYTHING I love about a broken character. The way Shayla picked up his pieces and put them back together again was pure magic.
Highly, HIGHLY recommend this series, and this absolutely beautiful story.

It’s only January but I’ve already claimed this book to be the best read of 2018! I don’t see this dropping from the top of my list any time soon. This book is sheer perfection!

Sean is moody, brooding, quiet - a real strong, silent type. I think that’s what your initial draw is. Yes, he’s sexy and mysterious. He’s a puzzle waiting to be put together. And by the time you finish the prologue, you’ll have this fierce passion for him to get all the things he deserves.

Shayla is opposite in personality with Sean, but I think that’s what makes them get along so well together.. Where he’s quiet, she’s loud. He likes to keep to himself and she likes to be in the middle of everything. But Shayla will share your passion, and you’ll adore her for it.

This book will drag you through ALL the feels. You’ll want to keep tissues handy because there will be tears, but you’ll also laugh at the hilarious and awkward moments, want to yell until the characters get their acts together, and blush when you finally see that sexier side of Stitch. This is my favorite of the Dirty Deeds novels so far (we’ll have to see about Nate) and I absolutely LOVE this cast of characters.

Five-star, must-read, one-click worthy book!

BOOK REVIEW: 3.5 MY GIRLS STARS
I think I just encountered the most disappointing AND the most satisfying series sequel I have ever read. The BEST and the “WORST” in the same story. I really don’t know how to describe what I felt reading Stitch and Shayla’s story. Even now that I have finished it, I’m still confused and trying to figure out what to make of it.

What I can say for sure is that the first 48% was the most irritating, what-the-hell-am-reading part I have ever read and the part that took me the longest to complete. During that loooooooong 48%, except trying not pull my eyes out and destroy my hair from pulling it the way I did, the thought of DNF-ing went through my mind more times that I care to admit. It was the worst feeling ever because

I was waiting soooooooo damn looooooong to read Stitch’s story and the first part of it proved to be one of the baddest I have ever read. And I don’t mean when it comes to the writing – because I flove Daniels’s writing and mind – but when it comes to not making justice to what Stitch truly deserved in my opinion. While the 48% wasn’t that, the rest 52% suited Stitch more than perfectly.
I am not an DNF reader and it takes a lot for me to even consider put a book under that label.
What probably saved both me and the book was the fact that I never ever ever never ever stop a book half way through even if I want to. Abandoning a story half way through is cataloged in my mind as a first degree murder. Also, feels like cheating and actually disrespecting the work the author put into it. That’s why, no matter how irritating was the first part, I didn’t stop reading. And, even though I am confused AF about how am I feeling and it didn’t make me love it the way I love Four Letter Word & Hit The Spot, there is no doubt that this book will forever be scarred in my mind.

Now I think it’s time to get on what actually made the 48% so damn annoying for me because I can picture many of you that loved the book, reading this review and use every curse word every dictionary in every language has in it on me. Just bear with me for a minute. I know that it’s not fair to Daniels nor to every one of you who loved it, but know for sure that I felt really bad having these feelings. So, hear me out. First of all, having read and floved the first two books of the Dirty Deeds and getting those body-shivering sneak peaks of Stitch during their unfolding, made his story and him the most anticipated book ever. I remember saying in one or both of my reviews of Four Letter Word & Hit The Spot, that Stitch might’ve been the most anticipated hero of all in this series. The mystery that was surrounded him was doing a mean job on my heart and body. But then the true nature and character of Shayla was unfolded and I didn’t know what to do. From the one point, she was loud, bossy, super pushy, kind of selfish and sometimes didn’t know when to back off and then form the other point, she was optimistic, encouraging, a fighter, self-sacrificing, royal, a total badass and to quote Sean, “Mama Bear“. She was the most unbearable and the most selfish-not-selfish and golden-hearted female character at the same time I have ever encountered. Until the 48% turning point, she was honestly giving to my nerves and I wanted to slap her and tell her to take it easy. She sometimes was pushing Sean too much and walking the edge of the cliff too many times for comfort. And, really, wasn’t what she was doing to help him and revive him again; it was more about how she was doing it. That’s why I love and hate her in the same moment. She had in such a swing of emotions and opinions about her that my verdict for her looks more like a river; flowing and changing. Although, I have to say that there is a “characteristic” – if I can describe it as such – of hers that pocked me a bit more than the others; her obsession with SnapChat. Maybe that got to me because I am not a person who likes to surrender my life to social media and document some special moments for the world to see. And I know that she wasn’t using it to that extent like some others, but just the thought of having some of her moments up there, kind of bugged me. But then again, it’s just me.

Now to the disappointing aspect that I referred too. I really don’t want to use that much of a heavy word to describe the feeling I got for some parts of the story, but I really can’t think anything else to use. And I had to use that word because the story I got for Stitch, in my mind, needed more intensity. Only during the last 30% or 35% I felt my heart beat the same way it had beat for Jamie and Trouble’s story almost from he beginning; out of my chest. God, I am so confused about the feelings this story evoked in me. There are only a handful of books in all my book career that my perspective and my opinion of it changes by the minute. It’s really insane. The one moment I feel kind of disconnected with the story and I would liked something more deserving for Sean and Shayla, but the next I feel super in love with every aspect of it and I’m putting it on my Soon-To-Be-Reread list. The bond and the love they share is unreal. The way they stand next to each other and battle life and help each other while getting stronger and stronger, only heart warming can be described as. I just know that every time that I’m going to visit this story, I will be coming out of it, a different person with a different perspective and love for it than how I was and what I thought after the last time. And that, ladies and gentlemen, spells out as “MASTERPIECE” in my world.

Stitch aka Sean Molina. A guy who pierced my heart and stayed there from the first moment his name was heard back in FLW. Sean might be the only character from what I can remember, that just his name and the tiny teasers of his dark past made me surrender all my essence as a human being and a woman to him. The abandonment with which I loved him without even needing to hear his story, was insane. Straight out of the world of Alice, the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts’s. His pain was unbearable and soul destroying. I was teared up all kind of ways. His past was simply surreal. No human being had to ever go what he went through until he found Shayla. And not get me started with him as a dad because I still haven’t recovered from that. And definitely can feel what Shayla was feeling every time he was referring to one of his daughters as baby girl. Jesus H. Christ! He is a panties killer. And if you add his long hair, some of his tattoos – not those who made my heart bleed – whose back story is to swoon-and-die-for-at-the-same-time and the Shayla’s description’s of the effects his smiles, his, grins and his smirks, then, except that you don’t stand a chance, you get a male character that couldn’t be more strong, swoon-worthy, real, complex, perfectly imperfect and simply one of the best book human beings ever created. And getting to read the story from also his POV, was more than cherishing and made me love him even more.

And when I think that I had made a decision about this book, Daniels goes and throws at me some bonuses that worked as my explosion. Dom & Eli and Caroline & Fiona. I don’t know what I want to do more with them; hug and kiss and squeeze the hell out of them or adopt them. The first pair being Shayla’s brothers and the second pair being Sean’s little daughters. Both pair of kids played a huge role in the development of the story and no one can deny their importance, because without them, many situations that proved to be essential for Shay & Stitch’s love, wouldn’t even happened. Their weight in the book is heavy and in no way goes unnoticed. I really want to say more about those creatures but then this review would never end. Trust me! And I have already guarantee you that, not even close, I have gotten out the full 100% of this book’s effect on me. It’s too huge and more like a spreading thing to put into words.

Trouble & Wild (Four Letter Word) put Daniels in my Top Authors immediately. Tori & Jamie secured that place in permanent gold ink. And now, Stitch & Shayla scarred that place deep into the ground. And just considering that there are more couples and love stories to be added to this crazy-loving team of Dirty Deeds, kind of scares me how much deeper J’s seat on my Top Authors can get. I have to wait and see as it seems. And with Jenna, Nate and the twins coming up next? My mind is already losing it!! Ugh!! How many more times you will kill me J before I even read the book? :p

Oh. My. Heart. This book. It broke my heart a million times and then put it back together again. It’s a story with so many facets - second chances, redemption, family and just the simple power of love, each playing starring roles. I loved each minute in it, watching two people find not only their truest selves, but a love that is even more powerful.

To say that Shayla Perkins is a force of nature, is an understatement. She is the very embodiment of the line from A Midsummer Night’s Dream, “and though she be but little, she is fierce.” If this woman loves you, she is your champion and will fight dragons for you. If your are a dragon - watch out. Being inside Shayla’s head and heart, it it impossible not to feel every bit of her goodness. While her life may not be perfect, she very rarely loses sight of the fact that it can and will get better. Her light is what drives this story, shining in every corner where the shadows might cast.

Sean Molina believes he deserves to be left in those shadows, because of the things that he has done, things he had to do to survive. He pays his penance though mostly silence and grouchy demeanor, but underneath it is a man who is deserves every ounce of goodness that comes his way. Watching him get it is everything.

On paper, Shayla and Sean shouldn’t work, but they do in the most amazing ways. They are the pieces of the puzzle that you find at the very end, that click into place and give you the big, perfect picture. I loved them dearly. They are sweet, funny and oh, so sexy, but most of all they are pure love.

This book is also about families - the ones you are born into and the ones you are pulled into. They leave their imprint on you - good or bad. But this crew, is all about the good — doing it out of love and friendship.

This book. It will put you through your paces emotionally, but it is so totally worth it. Hours later and I am still smiling. Sigh.

Happy reading!

I made it about 75 pages in and gave up. Sorry. What I learned in 75 pages is that Stitch thinks he’s a piece of shit (he only mentions it about 50 times), he’s an actual asshole, Whatsherface wants to be a hairstylist, yet waitresses and if she were smart she would’ve just stayed at her parents house while watching her brothers. And her heart is broken because Stitch wouldn’t go to a party with her? Nope, Nope, Nope.

Bad For You by J Daniels is the third book in the Dirty Deeds Series. the bother books are Four Letter Word and Hit The Spot. Every book in the series can easily be read as a stand alone.

Wow… what an emotional story. This book was filled with so many different emotions and feelings; pain, heartache, unconditional love, hot sexy times, and so much more. I laughed. I cried. I cooled off with a tall glass of ice water at a few different parts, cause holy moly was that some hot stuff!!

There was so much to both main characters, than you ever expected. I’ve been following these two since I first met Shayla and Sean “Stitch”, in book one, and had been desperately waiting for their story. But I was not ready. I was not prepared for their story. I ugly cried for days after. The ending was just…. beautiful. I can’t say too much more, as I don’t want to ruin any of the story for you all.

I have read all of this author’s books and let me tell you this book has stolen my heart and may be battled officer Ben Kelly for spot number one! Don’t know who officer Kelly is either, well you better get yourself on a first name basis cause him and his friends are hot. Truth be told this is one of my fav authors and I highly recommended all her books.

I am such a huge fan of J. Daniels and couldn’t wait to get my hands on Bad For You. It’s been a while since I read the first two books in the series; thankfully this book can be read as a standalone.

I loved the hero and the heroine so much. These two characters are complex and easy to love. They both work at the WHITECAPS restaurant and are complete opposites. Sean is quite and brooding while Shayla is outgoing and compassionate.

Sean aka Stitch has had a hard life. He had to learn how to take care of himself at an early age. Stealing food and clothing is something he had to do to survive. As he grew older the life of crime is what he knew and what landed him in jail.

Shayla is compassionate and working towards her dream of owning her own hair salon. It didn’t take long for her to fall for Sean. They were able to have quite conversations together at the restaurant. Any time she would try for more it only pushed Sean away.

This story had so many twists and turns I didn’t see coming. The build up and angst for this story was perfect. If you love a hero that is damaged and your heart breaks for him, this is your book. This is a book you don’t want to miss.

'How the fuck could I stay away? How could I go back to being nothing to everyone when what she was offering felt so fucking good. '

I’m just going to go ahead and start by saying that this book was AMAZING! I loved every single thing about it. It captivated me right from the prologue and was such a beautiful, heartbreaking, and heartwarming journey that I did not want to put down. If you love slow burns, this is the book for you. Shayla and Sean’s connection was so special and seeing that slowly develop and grow into this wonderful relationship was everything! Stories like this are why I love reading romance. J. Daniels has outdone herself on this book and I know it’s early in the year, but I am already declaring this book as one of my top favorite reads of the year. This one has ALL THE FEELS and is a story that I know I will never forget!

'There were people who deserved good. I learned early on, I was not one of those people. '

Sean “Stitch” Molina has had a rough life and has done some bad things as a result. He’s paid the price for those misdeeds and is now set on making things right and turning his life around. But old habits die hard and despite him getting his life together, he still knows that he’s not worthy of someone as good as Shayla Perkins. He doesn’t want to but the only thing he can think to do is push her away for her own good. Shayla may be persistent and intrigued by the sexy, brooding chef but she isn’t a dummy so when Sean clearly rejects her, she pulls away. That is, until Sean makes her a surprising offer, one that she can’t refuse. Sean has no idea what possessed him to offer his help to Shayla but once he’s done it, he’s having a hard time staying away. Shayla is surprised, yet delighted, by this new side of Sean that she’s getting to see and she is determined to do whatever she can to give Sean everything he deserves, even if that means letting him go.

“Don’t quit talkin’ to me,” he begged.
“I won’t. Ever.”
“I want you fillin’ my head. I want it so fuckin’ bad.”

I still haven’t read Four Letter Word (shame on me!!) but I am familiar with this crew from reading Hit the Spot a little more than a year ago. When I found out this book was about Stitch and Shayla I was so excited! I loved all the secondary characters when I read Hit the Spot and I just knew that Stitch’s story was going to be a good one, but this book exceeded any expectations I had. I fell in love with both Sean and Shayla while reading this book and went through so many emotions. I had a serious girl crush on Shayla! She was such an incredible human being. So full of compassion and selflessness, and it was so authentic and everyone felt it. She was loyal to her friends and family and fiercely protective of those she cared about. I loved her and I loved her for Sean, she was such a perfect match for him and the way she helped him through his demons and fought so hard for him, both to protect him and to show him that he was someone worth all the goodness that came his way, it was beautiful.

'I had gone most of my life without someone touching me like this.
I had gone all my life wanting it. '

Sean! OMG, I fell so hard for Sean. I’m a sucker for a tortured, broken hero and he was oh-so-broken. My heart ached for him, and I am actually getting a little misty-eyed right now thinking back on what he went through and how badly he just wanted to make things right. And when you find out WHY he wants so badly to set things right, oh. My. God! My heart squeezed and then promptly melted right out of my chest. It’s not specified in the blurb so I am not going to spoil anything, but this aspect of the story I LOVED soooo much. And the way Shayla reacted to it all? My God! Have I mentioned I love that woman? Because I do. Anyway, back to Sean. This book was very much a journey of personal healing for him and it was so perfectly done. The pacing, the thoughts, and feelings, it was all so believable and well done. My heart broke one moment and soared the next. Seeing him heal and finally begin to see himself the way everyone else did was just heartwarming.

'I was beginning to suspect Sean was the most unexpected man in the history of unexpected men. He never wanted anything in return for his actions. He never assumed or anticipated acknowledgment.
He was simply… good.
He was a good man. '

Then there was the most epic of slow burns. The chemistry between Sean and Shayla was always there but Sean was NOT in a place where they could just jump right in. Shayla recognized that and they took things slow but I think that the payoff was more than worth it when things finally happened. The buildup and the anticipation were great and by the time they got there it just felt natural. The best part? There was no ridiculous drama or stupid misunderstandings. These two communicated and were so honest with one another and I loved that. All of the drama and all of the angst that you encounter in this book happens organically and really amps up the feels. I could carry on rambling about this book for quite a while, but I’ll stop. I HIGHLY recommend this book, even if you haven’t read the two books before it (it can totally be read as a standalone). This is a beautiful story about healing and realizing that your past doesn’t have to define your future and that EVERYONE is worthy of love and kindness. Do yourself a favor and read this book, you won’t be sorry!

“I wanna be yours,” I panted, watching her eyes dilate and blink wider as she took in what I was saying. “You at my back, stickin’ up for me, and there when I’m fuckin’ terrified… I wanna go to you and I want you tellin’ me I can. I wanna be yours, Shayla.”

Bad for You was everything I expected and more. I’ve only read two books by J. Daniels and it took me only one book to know everything she writes is swoon-worthy, emotional, steamy and impossible to put down. But this book was something else. It was a bit of a roller coaster ride for me. Aside from being absolutely romantic and burning hot, it was fun, heartfelt and emotional—I’m talking the kind of emotional that makes you sob in the prologue and then sob when shit hits the fan and maybe shed a couple of tears in between. I can already tell Bad for You will be one of my favorite books of the year because how the heck can anyone top this? No one can!

Are you a fan of bad boys that actually have big beautiful hearts, don’t have single bad bone in their body and happen to have two beautiful daughters whom they’d do anything for? If the answer is HECK YES then you are going to fall in love with Sean.
Sean—aka Stitch—is beautiful and imperfect (and totally perfect at the same time!). He has a messy past. He won the lottery of bad moms and his father was never in the picture. Pretty much all his life he’s taken care of himself and growing up the only way he knew how to get the things he needed was stealing. He didn’t do it just for the sake of it, he did it out of necessity which is not an excuse but it’s all he ever knew. Then he got caught and he had to leave his two little girls and girlfriend behind. Now is his chance to be better; a better man and a better father.
Shayla is sunshine, butterflies and everything cute and bubbly in this world. She works at Whitecaps where she is a waitress and Sean is a cook. To say she has a crush on Sean would be a huge understatement. She gets heart eyes every single time he steps into a room. But he rejected her in the past and the friendship they were building crumbled a little since then. She shouldn’t be worrying over Sean when she’s about to start her own business but… did you read that part about her getting heart eyes for Sean?

Oh dear. I finished reading this book back in December and I already feel like I need a re-read. I miss Sean and Shayla so much. They are one of the cutest couples I’ve ever read. You can feel their connection deep in your heart and their love story is so pure and beautiful it is impossible to forget. They are now my favorite couple out of the entire Dirty Deeds series and I LOVE the previous two couples. That’s a whole lot of love y’all.

This review is not even making Bad for You justice so that’s a sign you absolutely need to read it as soon as you can. It is one of the most swoon-worthy books I’ve read in a while and I want y’all to experience that swept-me-off-my-feet feeling. If you let it, it might even become your new favorite book!
