I love everything J. Daniels’ writes! EVERYTHING! I’ve fallen in love with every single one of her stories and Bad for You was one I had been waiting for a very long time. In the two previous books of the Dirty Deeds Series, Stitch and Shay were interesting to watch interact together and I wanted to know more about them.

Sean “Stitch” Molina is the broody cook at Whitecaps. His taciturn attitude and bad boy vibe makes him so intriguing and I was so glad to finally peeled his layers and discover the man behind this hard façade. I couldn’t prepare myself for the beauty he really is inside. Sean has done bad things in his life and doesn’t feel deserving of Shayla’s sentiments. But how can these criminal acts be bad when it’s for survival? Every one of these acts he’s done was always for subsistence or for his loved ones and show he’s a good guy, deep down inside.

Shayla has a lightness about herself. She’s so vibrant and doesn’t judge. She really has a beautiful soul. Seriously, she’s the kind of girl everyone wants to be friends with. I loved how she makes Sean open up in this story and tries to make him realize his worth. They both help each other in different ways and they just match so well together. There’s just something so beautiful and a spark igniting between them in every single interaction they share.

This book gave me really all the FEELS! Heartbreak, love, passion, sadness, overwhelming awe! Sean and Shayla develop their love story slowly, but so stunningly. They’re so beautiful and perfect together. The struggles they both endure before finally finding their way to each other show their strength and the power of their love.

Bad For You is definitely my new favorite book in the Dirty Deeds Series. You need this book in your life!

I really didn’t know what to expect going into Bad For You, I just knew I was looking forward to reading Stitch’s (Sean) book.

I think what surprised me the most about this story was how emotional I got while reading it. Sean’s backstory was heart wrenching and I found myself tearing up on many occasions.  But what made this story and Sean’s story so great was the heroine in this book...Shayla. I thought she was the perfect match for Sean.

I found Bad For You an enjoyable read and a great addition to this series. I will say that my only negative about this book was it’s length. I thought it was a little too wordy for my taste and some of the filler could’ve been left out. But even with that said I was still totally invested in Shayla and Sean’s story. And I ended up with a HUGE smile on my face.

Bad For You is a story about redemption, forgiveness and Finding your worth. Even though there some really heart breaking scenes, the author also gave us some scenes of pure joy and love. This story is a stand-alone with interconnected characters and is told in Dual POV. This is the third book in the Dirty Deeds Series. I would recommend reading these books in order but you don’t have to.

Bad For You is the story of Sean (Stitch) and Shayla. Sean and Shayla both work at a restaurant in town. Sean had a tough upbringing and was forced to make some bad choices. Because of his past, Sean tends to keep to himself and isn’t very talkative, but that doesn’t stop Shayla from trying to interact with Sean. Shayla has been attracted to Sean since they met, but Sean has continued to push her away. That is until he sees her crying in her car and can’t ignore it. These two form a very sweet friendship and I loved watching them open up to each other. Can Shayla make Sean believe he is worth love and happiness?? Will they get their HEA?? Read this story to find out.

I would recommend this story to anyone who likes a friends to lovers type story and also a story about redemption and forgiveness. If you have read the other books in this series you don’t want to miss Sean’s story. It will pull at your heartstrings.

Sean "Stitch" Molina is a cook at Whitecaps, the same restaurant where Shayla works as a waitress. They've always had something between them, but it was mostly one-sided, or so Shayla thought. Sean is about as prickly as a guy can get, but Shayla is persistent and when she starts to get in over her head, Sean offers his help.

Throughout this whole book, you know that Sean deserves Shayla, but he just can't see that himself. They've been doing this dance for a year and when he offers to help her out with her younger brothers, and the more time he spends with Shayla and the more time he is around her, the more those walls he has put up around himself slowly start to come down.

Shayla is a ray of light and only wants the best for Sean. She literally brings light back into his life and tries to convince him that he isn't a nothing or a loser, even though he's been told that his whole life.

These two were HOT together and their chemistry was perfect. I was also !lad to see some of the previous characters from this series in this book (girls' night was my favorite!).

This book guts you from the prologue and makes you want to see Sean find his peace. I read this book in a day because I just couldn't stop reading, it was THAT GOOD!

Oh. My. God. The FEELS!
In all honesty I wasn’t prepared for what Bad For You put me through. I knew there would be feels, it was unavoidable considering what had already happened, or didn’t happen, between Stitch and Shayla, but I wasn’t prepared for all of THAT. I hit both ends of the feels spectrum, as well as everything in between, numerous times throughout the story and in the end I wouldn’t change any of it because the journey was so damn worth it.
I’m not ashamed to say that I’ve wanted more of Stitch from the moment I met him in Four Letter Word. I love me some broody male with a passion, and dear lord Stitch is the fucking emperor of broody bastards, but what made him that way absolutely gutted me. But what amazed me, and had me falling into adoration with the broody male, was the golden heart that lay underneath the armour. The simple and genuine goodness, along with a very blunt honesty, had me falling hard for the man.
Shayla. This girl. I really liked her. Hell, I ended up adoring her, but OMG the peppiness (is that even a word?) took me a minute to get used to. It wasn’t that she was being fake, she really is a little ball of pep and positivity, it was just in a couple of situations I needed more snark and not pep. But as things progressed the pep became normal and I loved how huge her heart was because once she claimed you, she’d fight to her last breath for you.
Sean and Shayla’s journey could have taken any number of routes to their HEA, but this one fit the people who they are at their cores. There was a good dose of drama, but not the OTT angsty kind, that only served to bring about understanding and bringing them closer instead of tearing them apart. I loved the slow build nature of their evolving relationship because I got to watch as they got to know each other on the deepest of emotional levels as the sexual chemistry kept building between them. As for the big roadblock in their journey, I saw it coming but it took a little twist that I didn’t expect, but really liked and had I not gotten to know these characters I probably would have tossed my ereader into the freezer, but I understood it and loved how everything worked out in the end.
While I never like to pigeon hole myself in anyway way, I have to say that this may just go down as my favorite of the series. Everything from the character’s backstories to their evolution throughout the book was done so well that the bar has been set. With that being said, I know that there is more to come from the Dirty Deeds world, and there is one character I’m hoping will get his HEA *cough* Nate *cough*, so I may be eating my words sooner rather than later, but should it happen I will gladly do it. So bring on the next book!

We were just feeling. Feeling and letting it all happen.
It was the most beautiful, chaotic thing I’d ever experienced.

There are just some authors whose work, whose words, just always speak to you. And for me, one of those authors is J. Daniels. I have read not just all of her books, but all of them multiple times. And I love them still—maybe even more than ever.

Why am I telling you this? Because I’ve just finished my first read of Bad for You, the third book in the Dirty Deeds series. And I adored it. I was captivated by it. I fell into it and gave it all of my attention—and then some—and felt every word on every page.

Guys, this book is . . . feels. For so many reasons, most of which I can’t truly communicate without spoilers. You’re just going to have to believe me—trust me—on this one. Shayla and Sean are characters that burrow in deep and hold on tight. And so are the people they surrounded themselves with—friends and family, new and old.

When it comes to Sean, it’s impossible not to want to rage on his behalf. To want to grab him in your arms and show him he’s something. And, in fact, there are moments that are both heartfelt and hilarious that demonstrate how universal that feeling is. Sure, this is a man who is rough and gruff and closed-off. But he’s also kind of out-of-this-world—kryptonite, if you will.

For me, and for Shayla.

And speaking of Shayla (she said, in a none-to-subtle segue so she can gush about Shay), she is warmth and kindness. But not a pushover—I loved her stubborn and her sass. I loved her fight and her passion. But I also loved her softness. Hands down, Shayla has become one of my favorite J. Daniels heroines.

And this book—well, it’s become one of my favorite J. Daniels books. Bad for You takes all the things that make Ms. Daniels’ writing so addictive and raises them to the next level. And the end result is a book that is moving and heartfelt and sexy and swoony and a little bit heartbreaking. And perfect.

At least, that’s my opinion after only my first read. Who knows how much more I’ll love it after my second. Or third. Or fourth . . .

“I feel like this has been building forever, and when something builds up that much, there is no easy release. It’s chaos.”

Bad For You is a distinctive blend of passionate romance, heartrending story, and hopeful message, and it left me a satisfied mess with a big smile on my face. Sean Molina is a broken man with a gruff exterior and a hidden, tender heart, and he had a gut-wrenching childhood and hasn’t made the best choices in his life. But he’s committed to changing his behavior and to rectifying his mistakes. He doesn’t believe he is worthy of someone like his coworker Shayla Perkins, who is an open book kind and guileless. He’s extremely attracted to her, and it’s obvious that she’s just as drawn to him, but he’s mired in guilt and shame over his past. He attempts to resist her, but he can’t stay away when she needs his help. He reveals his true nature with each heartfelt gesture, and his hard-shell cracks enough for Shayla to slip in. Her compassionate and caring nature make him feel safe, and he’s able to share all his messy parts and achieve true intimacy. My heart squeezed for Sean and his hard fought happy-ever-after, and Bad For You is a beautiful romance that is a testament to acceptance, love and second chances.

Where to start with this fabulous book?! I'm sure like myself everyone has been curious about Sean since the beginning of the series. I was so excited I was picked to review I squealed. So on to my thoughts....I absolutely loved this story. It broke me apart on more then one occasion, but I would put right back together whole in one piece with plenty of happy tears to cover the sad. This is not your normal love story! There was a longing from one and a friendship from the other. Finally, the longing won out and a friendship from both sides was started and once that ball got to rounding there was no stopping it! Sean is so terribly broken, he doesn't think he will ever be put back together, but it is amazing what a sassy, stubborn Shayla can do for a person's soul! This book left me speechless for days! I didn't think it could get any better than the last book, and boy was I wrong!

NO SPOILERS!

Bad for You was an incredibly sweet, sexy, heartbreaking, entertaining, and addicting standalone contemporary romance, and an absolute must read! J. Daniels completely blew me away with the unique and utterly amazing storyline and characters, and I was literally hooked from start to finish. Sean and Shayla's story was so much more than I ever dreamed possible, and I absolutely loved it!

Sean and Shayla were phenomenal and I adored them and their story so freaking much. I absolutely loved their personalities and red-hot chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. Sean and Shayla's story was completely unexpected, but I dearly loved going on every step of their journey with them. I immediately felt a connection with Sean and Shayla, and I honestly couldn't help but fall head over heels in love with them. I loved reading the book from both Sean and Shayla's POV, and I loved all of their banter and interactions with each other. I'll admit, there were some heartbreaking/very serious moments throughout that I wasn't expecting, but every single one was completely worth it in the end. Everything about Bad for You was amazing - the storyline, characters, friendships, and romance - and I was beyond happy with the conclusion to Sean and Shayla's story. J. Daniels honestly couldn't have done a better or more perfect job with this book, and she made my heart infinitely happy in the end.

Bad for You was a phenomenal and unforgettable standalone contemporary romance, and an absolutely amazing installment in the Dirty Deeds series! Each standalone novel has gotten better and better than the last, and I have loved them with all of my heart. J. Daniels has definitely made me a lifelong fan of her books with the Dirty Deeds series, and I am dying to read more from her! <3

I shouldn't have read BAD FOR YOU before my mini-vacation. I shouldn't have read BAD FOR YOU... before my front row Avenged Sevenfold concert. No-one should be emotional before a rock concert.

NO ONE.

But, I was.

I received BAD FOR YOU from J. Daniels for an honest review.

Honestly, I HATE an emotional rollercoaster book. I hate crying while reading. I hate feeling vulnerable in the middle of a read. I don't like the helplessness I had with Sean. I wasn't happy with the protectiveness that took over my heart for him.

If you DO or DO NOT like the things I listed; you should ALL read BAD FOR YOU. You can read it as a standalone.

There probably isn't another book like this one. The raw feelings you get with Stitch are completely uncontrollable. If you don't LOVE him at the end of BAD FOR YOU then you're reading the wrong genre.

THIS IS PURE ROMANCE.

This is the third book from J. Daniels' Dirty Deeds Series. And I promise you will fall deep into Stitch and Shay's story. AND honestly I hate that I can't start this book NEW all over again. To feel this way about a book is what reading to us is all about.

4 stars!

The third book in the Dirty Deeds series, I have been really excited for this one, as we finally get to learn about the quiet, mysterious broody man in the kitchen at Whitecaps Restaurant, Sean ‘Stitch’ Molina. But I wasn’t expecting it to be such a dramatic, emotional journey. With a tortured hero, a strong heroine and a slow-burning, functional romance, this book is sweet and heartfelt, sexy, intense and beautifully written, and I loved it!

A broody, tortured alpha, we are given a glimpse into Sean’s past with the prologue, giving us a hint of his hellish childhood, and why he is so closed off to pretty much everything. There has been some chemistry between him and waitress, Shayla, in the past, and an almost-friendship where Shayla would chatter away about her life and Stitch would listen intensely; but he brutally blew her off when he realised that she deserved better and she has kept her distance from him for the past few months, leaving them both feeling bereft at their lack of contact. But when Sean sees Shayla in trouble, he can’t just stand by, so he jumps in to save her, bringing them back into each other’s lives in a big way, and once there, neither of them are able to let go again.

OMG, this is SUCH a gorgeous story! Sean is so incredibly tortured. He’s been through hell, and he accepts his role in the bad that he’s been through, but he’s working hard to turn his life around and create something good; and Shayla turns out to be his biggest champion. She’s perky and feisty, and incredibly driven, she’s going through her own stuff, but she’s on the path to fulfilling her dreams, and as the two of them grow close and Sean begins to open up to Shayla, she is determined to help him achieve his.

“I want you to have all the love in the world, Sean. You deserve that. And I won’t stop until you get it.”

Sean’s demons run deep, and his is continuously tormented by all he’s been through and by the harsh words of those who were supposed to love him. My heart ached for how deeply it all still impacted him, and his confusion over Shayla’s obvious dedication to him is gut-wrenching!

“You need to quit lookin’ at me like I’m worth lookin’ at. I’m not. I’m nobody. I’m nothin’ to nobody. A fuckin’ fuckup. Tell me to leave.”

But Shayla supports him 100%, and OMG, I wanted to cheer for her! Her strength in dealing with Sean and his issues was absolutely amazing, as was her commitment to helping him move forward with his life, and I just loved her! And while Sean comes to trust Shayla, truly letting his vulnerabilities show, we get to see just how damaged he is, making us love him even more, but it also allows Shayla to shine as she stands by her man, taking his back and determinedly being there for him and dragging him from darkness into the light.

“Babe, what the fuck?” I looked into Shayla’s eyes. “You automatically go into attack mode for me? Why?”
“I don’t know any other way to be. Not about you. I can’t help it.”
My chest expanded with a breath.
Fuck me.

The love story is a slow burn as there are lots of issues that need to be overcome before they can go there, but it’s right. The timing is perfect, the depth of emotion is beautiful, and I felt it as they worked their way to where they both wanted to be.

“I wanna be yours,” I panted, watching her eyes dilate and blink wider as she took in what I was saying. “You at my back, stickin’ up for me, and there when I’m fuckin’ terrified…I wanna go to you and I want you tellin’ me I can. I wanna be yours, Shayla.”

And the sexy time! Holy hell this book is so freaking hot. The passion between Sean and Shalya is absolutely combustible, their connection is undeniable and it creates even more intensity to their romance.

“You deserve love and kindness because you put out those things, Sean. You deserve to feel wanted. I want you. I want you so much. Let yourself feel that.”

I loved the inclusion of both of their families, and thought that they added SO much to the story. It allowed us to see a different side to the characters, which added a lot of depth, and provided an additional emotional aspect which I really loved.

And it’s all so functional! Yes, there are issues for them to go through and it would have been so easy for there to be stupid drama, and though they have ups and downs, it was all handled sensibly and functionally, and I loved the way it all played out.

“Am I yours?”
I nodded immediately.
“You love me?”
My shoulders dropped. “Oh, my God, you have no idea,” I cried.

“I am so fuckin’ insane for you, you know that?”

I really loved this book it was emotional, unexpected and beautifully swoony, and finishes in a great place. I can’t wait for Nate’s book up next!

4 stars.

I don't think I have ever wanted to hug anyone more than Sean 'Stitch' Molina. He got to my heart so quick and I felt so much for him and all the hell he has been through.
Shayla will protect him with all she can and anyone who wants to get to him has to go through her. I loved how encouraging she is, along with her stubbornness to push it.
They have a slow burn that is so worth it. This story is such a journey for Sean and he really grows so much. I loved every step of the way, even the growing pains. The story had so much emotion and pulled me right in and wouldn't let me go.
I adore these two so much! They are in my top 3 of J. Daniel's couples and I have read everything she has written. It was a beautifully told story and I am so sad it's over!

Shayla is by far one of the best characters I have ever read.  Her compassion, loyalty, strength, love, and her will to never give up was something you don't see in a lot of female characters.  I was blown away by her, even when we were getting inner monologue which usual turns me off I couldn't get enough of her. She was just one of those characters you know will stick with you forever.  If I could give a star rating based off a single character this book would receive 5 ++++ stars.

Sean "Stitch" Molina was an enigma.   His no nonsense, rarely speaking, and never smiling personality was something that should have been a turn off.  Instead it made you want to know more about him.  What made him the way he was, what would it take to make him smile, and was he really as hard as he wanted you to think?  His story was emotional, gut wrenchingly so, and I loved every minute of him.  The development of his storyline was phenomenal, no question was left unanswered.

The only thing in this book that really gave me pause was Shayla's family.  We meet them early on and they are a catalyst in getting Shayla and Sean's friendship back on track but then they just slip away.  It seemed like there was so much more storyline there but, they just faded back into the background never to be really heard from again.  I wanted more of them.  There were issues introduced that I felt weren't fully covered or resolved.

I'm really glad I took the time to read this book.  After not really connecting with the first two books in the series I wasn't sure about this one.  However I had been curious about Shayla and Stitch from the beginning and really couldn't see myself just letting them go.  I'm glad I took the chance on this book because Shayla herself was absolutely worth it.

I had signed up to review a copy of Bad for You from NetGalley and totally forgot about it. Imagine my surprise when I got the email with the link to Stitch & Shay. I was ecstatic to say the least.

So if you haven't read the first two books in the Dirty Deeds series then I urge you to read them first because while they are all standalones we do get overlapping characters & it gives you a better background.

Ok Stitch, OMG new book boyfriend. He's all quiet & sexy, keeps to himself. Then Shay, she's totally drawn to him even though he rarely responds to her although she talks his ear off nearly every day at work.

Stitch has been through a lot in his life & doesn't think he is deserving of someone who's light is so bright & good.

These two together is just so right even though Stitch can't always see it that way, but these two when they finally let go just ignite into the most beautiful light of all.

Can't wait for the next instalment!!!

This is the third book in the Dirty Deeds series and it is a standalone. It is an emotional, serious, slow burn love story. Shay and Sean a.k.a. Stitch work together in a restaurant. Each of them is struggling to make a better life for themselves. They are meant to be together but it takes Stitch a while to accept that he finally deserves something good in his life. Shay has dreams of a better life but Stitch is just surviving. Shay is exactly what Stitch needs, it just takes him a while to realize it.

Stitch is tormented and has a ton of baggage from his past. He is distant, snarly, has low self esteem and doesn’t expect much from life. Most people are put off by his tattoos and his big, intimidating presence. Stitch is attracted to Shay but knows he isn’t good enough for her. Stitch is a sympathetic character, he hasn’t had an easy life. No one has ever cared about him. I was rooting for Stitch because underneath his gruff exterior, is a good guy. He isn’t sure what to think of Shay; he has never met anyone like her.

Shay couldn’t be more different from Stitch, but somehow they work. Shay embraces life, loves to be around people and has a positive attitude. She is working two jobs because she dreams of opening her own hair salon one day. Shay has a big heart and she knows Stitch is hurting and she wants to help him. Something about Stitch calls to Shay. I enjoyed this heartwarming story.

I have been a huge fan of Daniels since I fell in love with her Alabama Summer Series and those sexy Bama Boys! I have since devoured everything J. Daniels. With Bad For You Daniels has proved once again why she is an automatic one-click author for me.
Y'all Stitch is everything! I fell completely, head over heels in love. He is sweet, kind, and sexy with a vulnerable side. You can't help but feel protective of him.
Shayla is sweet, caring, hardworking, and willing to do whatever is needed to take care of those she loves.
5 stars is not enough for this amazing story. Bad For You is equally heartbreaking and heartwarming. I couldn't put it down and was left with a book hangover for days. This is my new favorite in this series. However, while it can be read as a standalone, you won't want to miss out on the others in this series.

Epically romantic. That's how I describe this latest release from J. Daniels. (Thank you for the ARC, btw!) Book hero, Sean, was the quintessential bad boy with a back story from hell. He's quiet, tatted, can cook like there's no tomorrow, hot, a great daddy to his two little girls, repentant for his checkered past, and is just plain swoon-worthy. In short, my ideal guy.

sexy tattoo man

Then, there's book heroine, Shayla. Sweet, ambitious, go-getter, strong, loyal, trustworthy, happy, optimistic, sexy, hot, kind, and entrepreneurial - in short, Shayla's who I wanna be in another life. LOL!

(Pardon me, I don't a good picture of myself to insert here... wink wink.)

J. Daniels delivers a second-chance-at-life story. She wrote it masterfully, in my opinion. Sean is portrayed as a man who is not afraid to face his demons together with the woman who "healed" him (i.e., made him open up). He actually likes/begs to hear Shayla talk. What man in the real world actually says that?! No one, that's who. Hence, Sean is the perfect male specimen of the homo sapiens variety. The author also created a female character who is delicate yet strong, at the same time. One who epitomizes the American girl-next-door, but whose grit and grin save the day.

I totally loved this. And it's a real stand-alone read, despite it being part of a series. I did not have to read the first however number of books before "Bad for You," to understand these characters' dynamic with each other. My only request? More J. Daniels books please!

We loved the first two books in the DIrty Deeds series by J. Daniels- so we have been anxiously waiting for Bad for You- the 3rd book in the series!

Bad for You was such an angsty, sweet, and sexy story that we couldn't put it down! Sean and Shayla will easily have you wrapped around their finger with their crashes and burns, but also the achievements and emotional attachments. This book will have you crying and emotionally exhausted, but it is SO worth the ride!

We can't wait for book 4!!

OMG this book broke my heart. But it also gave me hope. Sean makes you jump into the book and give him a hug, what he went thru growing up, huh please keep tissues on hand. At first I thought Shayla was going to annoy me, but she really came thru for me with the way she was their for Sean and not giving up on him. I had to give J. Daniels props for how you were able to accept a relationship between Shayla and Val, I mean who would, you would normally steer clear, but it worked. The only thing I was upset about was that I find out this is the third book in the series, no I was not lost, but now I have to go back and read from beginning..Kudos Ms. Daniels.

J. Daniels brings us back to Dogwood Beach in this 3rd installment of her Dirty Deeds series, but Bad For You is on a completely different level than the two before it. The first two books in the series gave us glimpses at Stitch, but his story was nothing I could have imagined or prepared myself for.

Sean "Stitch" Molina is not your typical J. Daniels hero. He is bruised & broken, yet sweet and nurturing. He craves love and acceptance, and puts everyone else in the world before himself. Trying to put his haunting past behind him and start over is his main goal, and he doesn't plan on letting anything or anyone get in the way of that. But the one person he cant seem to stay away from might be the one person who can help get him exactly where he needs to be.

Shayla is a kind soul, with a huge heart and fiery passion. She is currently working as a waitress while working on her dream of starting her own hair salon. After taking on family responsibilities on top of everything else, Shay is at her breaking point. And surprisingly the one person she hasn't been able to get out of her mind is the one who steps up, and offers the help she desperately needs.

This book is a slow burn, friends to lovers, angst filled emotional journey. Stitch pulls out every emotion, and Shay brings love and her sassy spirit for the perfect combination. I adored these characters, and wanted to jump inside this story just to give Stitch all the hugs and love he deserves. As I stated earlier, this book is very different than the others in the series, but is by far my favorite. Bad For You is a heartwarming return to Whitecaps, with amazing new characters and appearances of old favorites. I'm excited for the next installment in this series, and hope we get a lot more Stitch & Shay.
