We loved the first two books in the DIrty Deeds series by J. Daniels- so we have been anxiously waiting for Bad for You- the 3rd book in the series!

Bad for You was such an angsty, sweet, and sexy story that we couldn't put it down! Sean and Shayla will easily have you wrapped around their finger with their crashes and burns, but also the achievements and emotional attachments. This book will have you crying and emotionally exhausted, but it is SO worth the ride!

We can't wait for book 4!!

OMG this book broke my heart. But it also gave me hope. Sean makes you jump into the book and give him a hug, what he went thru growing up, huh please keep tissues on hand. At first I thought Shayla was going to annoy me, but she really came thru for me with the way she was their for Sean and not giving up on him. I had to give J. Daniels props for how you were able to accept a relationship between Shayla and Val, I mean who would, you would normally steer clear, but it worked. The only thing I was upset about was that I find out this is the third book in the series, no I was not lost, but now I have to go back and read from beginning..Kudos Ms. Daniels.

To me Bad for You is an amazing slow burn romance and the author crafts it expertly.

The characters in this are so great, and so effortless, that even though I’ve finished the book I find myself thinking about them all the time.

Shayla and Sean’s story will melt your heart. Sean’s shady past has forced him into melancholy, low self-esteem and insecurity. But Shayla is so bubbly and full of life – everyone will love her. Their lives are so very different… Sean has felt rejection and his heart has been broken, while Shayla grew up with love and is so optimistic of life. She wears a smile like a badge of honor.

Their romance is beautifully developed over the course of the book. Everything comes naturally to them. From their friendship to the romance the steps these two take on their journey to each other are beautiful and at times heart breaking. Sean has been through a lot but there’s no doubt that they can face all these challenges together.

I think everyone should give this book a chance. It's a story of life's many challenges and winding roads. It will make you believe that while nothing in life comes easy, dreams do not materialize but through hard work. Basically, this book just grabbed me and drew me in.

In short:
Hero 5/5 | Heroine 5/5 | Plot (Point, Originality) 4/5 | Writing Style 4/5 | Steam 3/5 | Romance 5/5 | Angst-Suspense 2/5 | Darkness 3/5 | Humor 3/5 | Secondary Characters 4/5 | Drama-Conflict 4/5 | Mystery 0/5 | Twists 3/5 | Pacing Steady | Action 3/5

J. Daniels brings us back to Dogwood Beach in this 3rd installment of her Dirty Deeds series, but Bad For You is on a completely different level than the two before it. The first two books in the series gave us glimpses at Stitch, but his story was nothing I could have imagined or prepared myself for.

Sean "Stitch" Molina is not your typical J. Daniels hero. He is bruised & broken, yet sweet and nurturing. He craves love and acceptance, and puts everyone else in the world before himself. Trying to put his haunting past behind him and start over is his main goal, and he doesn't plan on letting anything or anyone get in the way of that. But the one person he cant seem to stay away from might be the one person who can help get him exactly where he needs to be.

Shayla is a kind soul, with a huge heart and fiery passion. She is currently working as a waitress while working on her dream of starting her own hair salon. After taking on family responsibilities on top of everything else, Shay is at her breaking point. And surprisingly the one person she hasn't been able to get out of her mind is the one who steps up, and offers the help she desperately needs.

This book is a slow burn, friends to lovers, angst filled emotional journey. Stitch pulls out every emotion, and Shay brings love and her sassy spirit for the perfect combination. I adored these characters, and wanted to jump inside this story just to give Stitch all the hugs and love he deserves. As I stated earlier, this book is very different than the others in the series, but is by far my favorite. Bad For You is a heartwarming return to Whitecaps, with amazing new characters and appearances of old favorites. I'm excited for the next installment in this series, and hope we get a lot more Stitch & Shay.

Shayla. Shayla. Shayla. One of the most positive and inherently good heroines I’ve ever read about. She’s smart, driven and always looking out for her family.

Sean’s life has been easy. He fought his way through it by doing what he had to.

I loved this SLOW BURN romance.
It was heartwarming to watch these two build a foundation of friendship. Shay and Sean were dynamite.

I was sent this book from the publisher and Netgalley. My ratings and reviews will be my own personal opinions and are in no way influenced by publishers or authors who may have sent me books to review.

J. Daniels has been an author that I have been interested in reading for so long, but I just never grabbed for any of her work. When I saw that the third book in the Dirty Deeds series was coming out, I knew I wanted to read it. I hesitated since I still need to read the first two in the series, but I am so glad this was my first J. Daniels read.

I was instantly pulled into the writing. I am not sure if this follows characters from the previous books, but I read this as a standalone. I never had any questions or holes in the story from not reading books one and two.

This was a very emotional story. I really enjoyed the characters and the romance. You will fall in love with both Shayla and Sean. They will keep you guessing from the beginning and your heart will break as their stories unfold.

Overall this was a really amazing read, and I look forward to reading more from J. Daniels.

Bad for You is the third book in the Dirty Deeds series by J. Daniels and in my opinion, the best book she has ever written! We’ve all been patiently waiting for this book and boy, does it deliver!

Sean (Stitch as he’s referred to) is a motorcycle riding, ex-convict who covered in tattoos, and has made plenty of wrong choices in his life. He has been the cook at Whitecaps for over a year trying to make something of his life. Stitch has always been a taken with Shayla, who is a waitress at the restaurant. However, he knows that once she gets to know the “real” him, she will walk away.

Shayla is a waitress and is also trying to get her hairstyling business of the ground. She is a hard working woman who loves her family and her friends and will do whatever necessary to make her dreams a reality. Shayla is interested in the quiet cook who has shown interest in her in the past, but has now gone radio silent. Struggling to deal with her younger brothers while her parents are away, Shayla is in desperate need of help and Stitch decides against his better judgement to jump in to help.

What happens during the course of this story is pure magic. The co-workers have an interesting dynamic. Shayla tells Stitch every single thing that’s going on while Stitch says nothing...he just soaks it all in. Their relationship was a slow build, from co-workers to friends to even more and the journey that these two characters take is unforgettable. There is no one more deserving of a HEA than Stitch and Shayla.

Bad for You will put you through the wringer. I laughed, I sobbed, I got so angry that I had to stop and collect myself. Stitch and Shayla’s story was absolutely flawless. I always try to savor any book that J. Daniels writes, but I end up finishing them in one sitting because I am just completely enthralled in the story. Bad for You is no different.

I will also tell you this, Bad for You resonated with me like no other. It tells the story of how words can hurt and how words can heal. I know someone just like Stitch and I have tried to give him all my words, to heal him. This book gives me hope that eventually, he will hear what I’m really saying.

Sean Molina was told most of his life that he was nothing. Tell a kid that enough times and they will eventually believe it. Whenever he finds something good he seems to screw it up. Shayla is good girl, she deserves good things, he knows she has a thing for him but his not willing to subject her to the mess that is him; but this girl doesn’t give up easily she worms her way under his skin and Sean can’t help but to want her.
Shayla Perkins has dreams and goals, she’s a mover and shaker determined to make her dreams come true. The one dream that she can’t seem to bring to life is getting Sean to notice her. Well, that’s not true; he noticed her at one time but then suddenly ignored her. When she finds herself in a little bit of a jam, Sean steps up and helps no questions asked. They seem to be on the path to friends and Shayla’s willing to take him anyway she can get him. When Sean starts to open up a little about his life Shayla’s convinced that she can make her dream come true.
I was really hesitant going into this book because it’s book three in the Dirty Deeds series. I think I read book one, but I can’t really remember. I know I read book two and it wasn’t a hit for me. However, I wanted to give this one a try. Book two may not have worked for me but this book did.
Reading the Prologue in this book broke my heart and from the start I was connected to Sean. You learned right from the beginning what made him what he was and why he acted the way he did. It took me a little longer to connect to Shayla because I kind of couldn’t figure out what made her tick, she kind of seemed all over the place, but eventually the connection happened. I will admit that the pacing in this book was a little off. Based on his personality, it seemed like Sean came to the rescue or the way he came to the rescue seemed out of character for him. However by the end of the book, it made total sense. My heart really ached for this guy. It could possibly be because I’d recently spoken to someone who childhood was very much like Sean’s and that’s who I was thinking about when I was reading this book. The empathy even flowed for Shayla and her family. I did come to the conclusion that my trouble connecting with Shayla might have been more of a personal reason. My daughter’s name in Shayla so I think when I read the name I immediately thought of her and her personality, which is NOTHING like this character’s; and also the fact that I don’t like see my baby’s name on a page doing naughty things with boys!!! I would like to stay blissfully ignorant thank you very much.
So while I liked the story line and the characters, it’s the emotional pull of this book is what makes me give it four stars.

Bad for You is by far the best in the Dirty Deeds series. I wasn't expecting it to be so emotional and heartwarming. Lana- White Hot Reads

Shayla is a breath of fresh air while Sean is the closed off bad boy. Shayla brings the best out of Sean and makes him realize that his past doesn't have to define who he is unless he chooses it to be. He can overcome it and succeed and be worthy. He doesn't have to be nothing anymore.

The emotional connection that Shayla and Sean have is profound. Everything is just better when these two are around each other. I kept wondering what Sean's story was while reading the other books in this series and you finally get it.

Seriously, this is my favorite book to date. The characters are so unique and honest.

I am a big J. Daniels fan. I absolutely loved the "Alabama Summer Series" and I also really enjoyed the previous book in this series "Hit The Spot". This book can be read as a stand-alone though, so no worries if you haven't read the other books in this series yet. I myself skipped book 1, but I will be correcting this mistake soon :P

Bad For you is about Shayla and Sean, who both work at Whitcaps restaurant. Sean aka "Stitch" is a cook and Shayla is a waitress. Shayla is also haidresser, who has just started a bussiness of her own..... Hair by Shay...or maybe Shayla....

Shayla is a small sweet feisty and cheerfull girl, while Sean is big, tattoed, very quiet and broody. They are pretty much opposites, but that doesn't stop Shayla from crushing on the man big time...

These two become good friends at work.... Which means Shayla mostly talks Sean's ear off, and he listens to her. Shayly thinks they share something special...so she makes her move and get's rejected big time .

This pretty much ends their friendship and even though they still work together daily, Shayla keeps her distance as much as she can.

But when her live takes a sad turn and she is in a bit of a bind....Sean really steps up the plate, and offers his help.

Slowly but surely these two become close again....closer than they ever were actually. And when Shayla finds out why Sean rejected her...her heart breaks....as did mine...

I felt so bad for Sean and I really wanted him to be happy and find love. Thankfully Shayla is not one to give up easily. I have to say, that she is definitely one of my all time favorite heroines. She was sweet, feisty, strong, funny and just freaking awesome !! I think she would make a great new friend !!!

This books had parts that broke my heart, but I loved seeing Shayla slowly heal all that was Sean..... It was really beautiful ;)

I also want to give some extra credit to the ex wife in this book .... I absolutely loved reading about an ex wife, that wasn't a bitch for a change. Very refreshing !!

I very much recommend this book....actually I recommend the whole series, but this one is definitely my favorite !!

I fell for Sean from the first moment I started reading this book, he has made a lot of mistakes and he doesn’t hide from the mistakes he’s made which is why I like him. He’s straightforward about it and it makes me protective of him. I found out about why he is the way he is and I was like oh poor guy. I’m so emotionally attached to him and I’m so rooting for his happy.

I really do like Shayla though; her automatic response is to protect Sean. I like that so much, It shows how close they are as people too. I do think this story is heartwarming and sweet and very emotional. I really enjoyed watching these two and their love amongst the pages.

The emotions are gutting, cry worthy and in the end it just warms your heart, pick this book up, you will not regret it! It is so sweet and well worth the read as far as I’m concerned!

Shayla Perkins had the hugest crush on her co-worker... until she didn't. When Sean made it incredibly clear that he was not interested in her, in the rudest possible way, it changed their dynamic forever.

Sean "Stitch" Molina knows he will never be good enough for someone like Shayla. She is a bright shining light in his dark and shadowed existence... and he has a tendency to ruin anything good that crosses his path.

When Sean finally opens their friendship back up, not only does Shayla want to show Sean the way that she sees him, but she makes it her mission to heal all the things that have Sean holding himself back from them ever being something... more.

This was such a great read!! Shayla is the most kind-hearted and giving woman. Once she finally gets Sean to open up his life to her, she is completely wrecked by his past and the things he had to endure as a child. When others would be quick to judge him for the mistakes he has made, Shayla only sees the man who developed a kind heart, against all odds.

Sean is tortured by his past. Vowing to never go back to the way he lived life before he got the job at Whitecaps, all he wants to focus on is work and getting his recently purchased house up to snuff. But, Shayla has a way of distracting him in the best way possible...

You must read this heart-wrenching story of friendship and healing featuring one incredibly sexy and brooding bad boy and his chance at getting everything he deserves...

I received a complimentary copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.

"This man had a stare unlike any stare. Equal parts intense and intimidating."

"Rejection was one of the worst pains one could ever feel. Scars healed. Bruises went away. Rejection was lasting. It was a memory you could conjure up at any time and hurt from, over and over again. It never left you."

"You put food in front of a starving man, he's going to eat it. No matter what he thinks he deserves or not. It was about survival. And Shayla was keeping me alive."

"I wanna be yours" "You at my back, stickin' up for me, and there when I'm fuckin' terrified...I wanna go to you and I want you tellin' me I can. I wanna be your, Shayla."

Wow! What a way to kick off 2018 than with a book that totally knocks your socks off! I never saw this book coming. Not for one single minute. It snuck up on me and grabbed me from the very first page. I was completely, 100% consumed with Sean and Shay's story. My eyes were glued to the pages and I didn't want to put this book down......

Bad For You is incredibly well written and is a beautiful second chance romance. This story is one of redemption and it will steal your breath away. As I'm sitting here, trying to type up this review, I am at a total loss. I have no words. I am speechless in the most amazing way.....

From the moment I met Sean, I was dying to know more about him. He was quiet, hard, and didn't let anyone get close or in. But, I just knew there had to more to this man than meets the eye and boy was I not wrong. Sean's life has been anything but easy. He has lived through and done things that no one ever should have. This is the kind of man that upon meeting, you just want to protect him with everything you have and bring a smile to his face. He is not perfect, but his motives came from a good place. This man with his tough exterior had the biggest heart. He pulled at my heartstrings and just made me ache. Ache for the life he had. Ache for all that he lost. Ache for all he should have. And Shay was the light Sean desperately needed in his life. Shay is full of life and love. She is hard-working, devoted and will fiercely protect those who are in her life. Shay is definitely the kind of woman you'd want taking your back. She sees the good in everyone and when she meets Sean, she can't possibly stay away.

I love, love, loved the slow build between Shay and Sean. Their feelings and interactions were so real and and genuine. They didn't jump into a relationship straight away. They got to know one another. They built the foundation. There was no rushing it. They waited until just the right moment, and then all bets were off. These two together were just magic. They got each other in a way that no one else could possibly understand. Their chemistry was scorching and the pull....UGH!! I just couldn't get enough. I loved watching their story unfold and seeing them handle all the hurdles along the way.

Bad for You was an amazing read from beginning to end. It stole my heart and turned my world upside down. From sad moments, to funny ones, to moments that had you bursting with joy and swooning so hard, you thought your heart was just going to burst out of your chest; this book had it all. This book was so much more than I ever expected and is a story that will remain with me for a long time to come.

When you start a series on book three, even if they are standalones, it’s sometimes a crapshoot. Will you get the other characters? Will there be story pieces you’ve missed? Yeah well none of those issues came to fruition in J. Daniels newest from her Dirty Deeds series. Bad for You is the story of Shayla and Sean, an holy wow did it bring the feels!! Sexy, sweet, heart wrenching and beautiful all at the same time. Shayla has the biggest heart imaginable and Sean is just closed off and seemingly mad at the world. But when he inexplicably offers help to Shayla, she sees a whole new side and they start a reluctant (on his part) friendship. This friends to lovers romance broke my heart so many times. I think this might be one of my favorite J. Daniels books yet and I’m not sure how she wrote this without so many tears. Sean’s story hit a chord with me and I loved how Shayla fought for him! Trust me you want to read this one!!

Wow! I'm going back to read the other two books in this series! Don't worry, you'll be able to pick it up if you haven't read the others. Bad For You, blew me away. I absolutely loved this book. It was mixed with plenty of sweet, heartbreaking and redeeming moments.

Sean "Stich" Molina may be rough and bad, but he tried so hard to make his life better. And with the reluctant help of Shayla Perkins, Sean was able to slowly open up and learn that he is worthy. Sean has lived a rough life and he's been paying for it. But he's been working hard to stay low and keep his head above water. But when the beautiful and quirky waitress (his co-worker), Shayla, finds herself in a pickle, Sean can't stop himself from helping her out.

I loved Shayla's character. She is caring and saw the best of Sean, not matter how high he put his walls up. She was determined to be his friend.

Sean and Shayla were two perfect couples. Their chemistry was there, no matter how different their lives where.

Oh my god. Shayla and Sean... So cute & sweet and I loved it. I mean, i KNEW it would be them based off the title, but i was hoping for Kali & Cole's story bc they just sound so amazing cute together. If it happens I cannot wait. But until then, and until the next story, imma talk about this one, before i get off topic.
Yes, I loved this story. Like i said, it was so cute, and sweet, and touching, and beautiful and i loved it.
Shayla was a waitress working at Whitecaps with Tori and Syd, and Kali. Sean was thecook also at Whitecaps. Sean never believed he was worthy of anything good in his life- with his troubled past always coming back to haunt him. And Shayla was good. She was light. And he didn't think he deserved her- in any sense.
Shayla had a crush on Sean since the first day he started working at Whitecaps- even calling him Stitch bc he was constantly cutting his fingers the first few days working.
But they weren't talking like they used to. Sean had blew her off without a glance back, and Shay was trying her damned to ignore him- which was damn near impossible since they worked together.
But When life happened, and Shay was overwhelmed- Sean initiated conversation. He wanted to make sure she was alright. She took his help and no longer ignored him. But, surely he isn't interested in her, like she is in him? Surely he isn't worthy of Shay's light?
Like i said I loved this story. So sweet, and cute, and sexy, and... God, I loved Sean & his point of views & it was just so beautiful and touching and I cannot wait to read the next story, and until then will be reading J Daniels other books, bc god, I want more, haha. 4.5 ⭐ out of 5 ⭐.
I received this ARC for an honest review.
