When poor little rich girl Melody is cut off by her parents for leaving her fiancé for another man, she has nowhere to go but back to the fiancé she left. Unfortunately (fortunately), when she knocks on the door of his condo, it's not her ex who answers, but his friend, Sheikh Daveed Rafik, who's staying there while they try to solve the case of their friend's sister's disappearance. Thank God Daveed has more compassion in his heart than her ex, because he takes her in and gives her shelter while she sorts her life out.
I enjoyed A Sheikh for Christmas, surprisingly. Although it was short, I liked how their relationship developed. It was a bit rushed, but that's too be expected in such a short story. They didn't just hop into bed, they got to know each other first, and their attraction seemed realistic and sexy. I also liked Melody and Daveed, especially Melody, which is somewhat surprising considering that Melody at first came across as a spoiled little brat. But she was actually a sweet, compassionate woman who had just been forced into an engagement by her parents with no care as to what she wanted. Daveed, too, was a likable character, although his character wasn't quite given as much development and detail as Melody. All in all, I liked A Sheikh for Christmas, and wouldn't mind reading more in this series.
"A Sheikh for Christmas" is full of fun, romance, and a great novella I was able to read in one sitting. Melody was a bit quirky and fun, with Daveed, a true Sheikh, as the man that who falls in love with her. The attraction is mutual, but here is a problem. She is Daveed's best friend's ex. Daveed being a nice guy lets Melody, who is a bit of a mess, stay at the apartment. The fun begins, the sparks fly, as Daveed and Melody work their way to their own HEA. A great read to pick up anytime of the year for romance lovers! I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "A Sheikh for Christmas". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4.25 Stars!
Another great book from Leslie. Must read. From start to end
Daveed never imagined that Melody would show up on his doorstep after dealing with the broken engagement of his best friend. It seems Melody doesn’t make the best decisions and followed blindly into something she thought was a great idea. A possible love interest left her abandoned and now she must make those first tentative steps into the future without any financial support. Daveed feels the undeniable attraction of Melody and she reminds him of his home he hasn’t returned to in many years.
Not my usual cuppa, but I really enjoyed it. I read it as part of a reading challenge to break out of my preferred genres.
A Classic Damsel in distress saved by a rich hunk.
The story was about Melody, a rich famous heiress who run off with an actor who turned out to be just using her for publicity. When her family cut her off, she had nowhere to go but to her ex-fiance who she ditched before. But instead of her ex, she found his friend, Daveed. Mel wasn't really close to her ex's friends before and so she was surprised when Daveed showed her sympathy. Well, after the initial rudeness anyway. Daveed saw that there's something more to Mel than what the media said about her or even more than his friend knew about. Still, he shouldn't feel more than sympathy to her. But living in one roof might not help him in that area.
I love this one especially because there's some seriousness in the story because of Mel. I really liked her and understood the stupid stuffs she did before. Also, I liked it that Daveed wasn't so judgemental. Unlike others, he really gave her a chance to find and know herself and let her do it by herself. He just served as a guide and support. And it was sweet and cute. And very romantic. There was few dramas, since Mel was Daveed's friend's ex but it was okay. It actually helped to make plot even better.

Rated 5 Stars
WOW so happy to have discovered this author & I am admitting that Sheikh romances are one of my guilty pleasures.
Can I just ask who wouldn't want a Billionaire Sheikh for Christmas. Ummm just saying 😄😄 !!!
5 Star Read -this book hit all my buttons easily !!
I loved Melody & Daveed's story only wish it was longer !! The very few opening scenes had me immediately hooked !! Melody breaks her engagement with Daveed's best friend and takes off following her heart with someone she thinks is the true love of her life !! What does she find out - he is an actor who also happens to be gay & was only using Melody for "newsworthy" status since his personal reputation has taken several hits lately . Melody slinks home - tail between her legs after being cut off by her parents from her trustfund / credit cards all canceled - oops sorry card(s) declined - no job & is now basically homeless ... She arrives at her EX's penthouse only to find him gone and Daveed not taking to kindly to having her around.
There is a really great HEA - sparks fly between these two immediately & against the odds they find true love.
Great quick read - you won't be disappointed !! Luv this author can't wait to see what else she has in store for me !!
Sweetly sexy romance with lots of holiday cheer that tests the bonds of friendship and trust.
Melody Hascall-Ebons has nowhere left to go after being cutoff by her family for running away with an actor that was only using her for a publicity boost. With no where left to run she finds herself a the door of her ex-fiance only to find the assistance of his friend Daveed Rafik insted. Daveed is charming, strong and a Counter-terrorism expert Sheikh Daveed Rafik has spent his career dealing with delicate and dangerous situations but nothing has prepared him for falling for his best friends ex-fiance. Very entertaining romantic adventure.
I found the book to be a bit far-fetched and cheesy. I did not connect with any of the characters and the story seemed forced in some places. Thank you for allowing me to review it, but it just was not for me.
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
I didn't realize that the three guys were going to have a series about Christmas so I am really looking forward to the other books in the series. I was not too sure at the beginning of the book if I was going to like it as Melody seemed like a real loser at first.
As the story progresses, we learn more about her and her bad choices and see her really try to grow as a person. Daveed slowly comes around so instead of hating her, he actually starts to like her. I had also felt bad for Heath but every time that he is talking in the book, he is big jerk so I don't fault Melody for trying to find a person who loves her.
If you don't mind, the back story of the missing Aileen not being resolved in this book, the romance between Daveed and Melody was a cute read. We see the two guys, Heath and Murphy will be in the next two books, along with Shayma - I am so glad that she will get her HEA! It was great that she was able to stand up to her parents and get out of her arranged marriage with Daveed.
Looking forward to starting book 2, as I want to continue the search for Aileen as well as seeing Murphy and Shayma together...sounds like another good book!
This book didn't catch my attention enough to finish it. A shame, because I really wanted to like this book but the characters were quite insipid.
Fun, flirty and sexy, Classic North and I enjoyed it immensely.
Daveed’s best friend Heath had been dumped a month before his wedding by Melody who had taken off with an actor- Jefferson- out of the country and later found out he was gay and using Melody for media attention. Daveed was at Heath’s condo and then Melody showed up there soaked and having nowhere to go or anyway to turn to as her parents had disowned her. Melody said her parents had planned for a long time for her to marry Heath but even though she got engaged she figured they would never marry. Daveed could never resist a crying females. Melody said she had been lonely and Heath just ignored her and had kept reenlisting in the service. Leaving her alone. Daveed had been a counter terrorist expert and knew Melody wasn’t putting on an act. David knew about forced engagements he had left his country because of a forced engagement made when he was ten and the girl was six. Melody ended up helping Daveed to solve some of the words and an address from the coded message Murphy's sister -Aileen-had hidden in her books. Murphey, Heath, and Daveed were best friends and had been in the service together and stayed close. And then Murphy's sister had been missing for almost two weeks now. Daveed was very attracted to Melody and he knew he had to stop it as she was Heath’s ex.
I really enjoyed this book . I loved the romance even if it was rather fast. But the author left us hanging on if Aileen was ever found or what had happened to her. So I was disappointed there but otherwise I really liked the plot the pace was also good for the most part. I also loved how Melody inched her was into Daveed against his will. But all and all this was a good fun quick read. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I recommend.
Wow just wow this is one of my favourite books of 2017 and a especially a Christmas one too. Has everything I love in a spectacular romance book and by this author. Couldn’t stop reading if I tried and I read this book in one sitting. A must read of 2017 and a fantastic book to have in your ereader library so you can enjoy over and over again. I would wholeheartedly recommend
The first in a series of three. This is the story of Melody, the rich and flightly heiress, and Daveed. When she runs from marriage, to his best friend, she goes to him for help since she is not sure where to go. Of course he lets her in and helps, and the sparks fly. A good start, but sadly with these short novellas there are a lot of details that are left out and at times feels like there is no transition. Still, liked it enough to keep reading the series, and started that one now. Would recommend.
Melody and Davwe'd meet at her ex-fiance's condo in New York. She had to pawn her engagement ring to catch a plane home, due to the man she ran off with is gay, and he was just using her for the publisity. She is wet, and dripping water everywhere when Daveed opens the door. She tells him that she has no money, and no other place to stay. Her parents turned off her trust fund, all her credit cards, and told her they do not want to see her again until she makes amends with her ex-fiance. What takes place in rhe story from this part on is a comedy of errors, but the reader cheers for Melody, that she can find happiness.
A Sheikh For Christmas a good holiday romance that can get you heated and happy all at once.
The plot is different from the usual story lines that revolve around the hate-turned-to-love trope. Melody is stranded in New York and is left with no other option than to knock on her ex-fiance's doorr, but much to her surprise, his best freind, a counter-terrorism expert, opens the door and calls himself Daveed. Though there aren't any big enough conflicts for me to get hooked right off the bat, I still appreciated where the story headed especially in terms of character development. Melody is imperfect in her decisions and frequently ends up finding herself in grave situations that she hadn;t even expected to land in. It's cute to see the conversations built up between the two main characters.
Having said that, the fact that Daveed, more often than not, didn't expect much from Melody both in terms of personality and intelligence, was a bit frustrating for me. Sure, it's great to surprise the guy with what you're capable of but I don't like well-built, handsome men--fictional or real--who take strong and smart females with immense astonishment as if that was the last thing they'd expected from that woman. Besides, the fact that the love develops at a comparatively faster pace than the entire story, is slightly disheartening and I would've certainly preferred a more steadily paced romance.
Anyhow, I would recommend this to those looking for a light and quick romance without any excessive drama to purposefully drag the story.
Book one in the All I Want For Christmas Is... series. This is a really good holiday romance book!! We have Melody who pretty much runs from an arranged relationship only to be totally cut off from her rich family. Having no options she shows up at the ex's condo in an effort to find somewhere to stay. Instead of finding the ex she finds one of his best friends instead. Daveed wants to blow her off but being raised right he instead offers to help her get back on her feet. What they don't know is that close proximity on a regular basis leads to some steamy interactions that they fight as long as they can but have to succumb in the end. Set at the holidays there is lots of Christmas cheer and enough drama to keep the reader hooked until the two of them finally work things out. The sex scenes are steamy and relationship moves at a very fast clip that is still good none the less. If you enjoy a nice and steamy contemporary holiday romance novel then this is the book for you. I really enjoyed it so it gets 4/5 stars.
