This is Sorcha and Brandt’s story. She as known as a beast because of her scars. He thought he was a bastard. She kisses him to avoid an unwanted marriage. They are forced to marry. They are on the run from her unwanted bethothed. The book has a lot of violence. The story kept me on the edge of my seat. It turns out nothing is as it seemed but love wins the day.
I always enjoy a story based in Scotland. This story was good. Enjoyed the traveling...but wished it was a bit shorter in detail. I feel like this author is on the right track and look forward to reading more of her work.

I liked the family mystery and the characters themselves. I did feel that even for a romance novel, too many events were just too perfect.
Awesome historical romance with an actual solid plot. Totally enjoyed it. I have found a new author to follow.
A handsome gentleman, wealthy, owns a horse stable, and is looking for one stallion, that will put his stables even higher. The problem is, s very fiesty, irritating, beautiful lady owns it. To get out of her marriage, she kisses him in public, her brothers see it, and off to be married they go. This is s good read, although, I am getting tired of over the top females!
I highly recommend! Thanks! Enjoy!

Brandt Pierce AKA Brandell Montgomery, is the stable master at Worthington Abbey in Essex. He went to a fair to look for horses. Lady Sorcha Maclaren was in in a paddock fighting with a sword and she won. She was like a warrior woman from old myths spoken of years ago.
I thoughly enjoy this story, it has everything, evil men, cowardly Lairds, great sword fights and traveling around Scotland. Actually they were trying to hide. The characters were believable, strong, fierce and loving. What they go thru will astound you. The authors did a great job, the tale is mesmerizing, keeps your interest and is very hard to put down. It is well written and flows smoothly. This book is definitely worth the time to read and you will not be sorry. I look forward to another book from these wonderful authors.
I received this ARC from Net Galley and voluntarily reviewed it.
I am a huge fan of anything that has to do with Scotland. I was really hoping this book would fill the void that Outlander left now that the show is on hiatus. The story started out great, but there were too many similarities with Outlander that just didn't sit right with me. I dove right in though, and was pleased for the first part of the story. The middle fell kinda flat when there was a lot of traveling and not much of anything going on. I wished there was so much more world building and story with this one. It was a nice afternoon read though and I'm not mad that I picked it up.

I really had high hopes for the story. But there was just too much random details. The chapters are full of filler details to the point I got bored and couldnt read anymore. I dont understand why it takes 60 pages to explain them riding from one inn to another and NOT speaking to each other. Which is a shame because i loved the story they authors were trying to tell. If it wasnt for the filler words, the over described scenes the book would be perfect. While there is a very fine line between enough detail and too much, this went over the top. I could not even finish this book. Unfortunately it became too much.
Not your average heroine.
The battle scenes were exciting.
