The second in a trilogy, the romantic suspense was good. I can't say it was great, because I've come to expect great from Kat Martin and this wasn't at that level. The mystery and suspense is intertwined with romance, while including characters that have been introduced in other previous books. While it was good, nothing really stood out or kept me devouring the story. I liked it, I'm just a book snob when it comes to her books and wanted more.

I received an arc from Netgalley. I felt like a detective right along with Cassidy and Beau. These two worked so well together and the chemistry was there from the beginning.

Beau was found over the body of his dying father and Cassidy was the PI Beaus father hired to find out who was following him. Beau and Cassidy go on a journey trying to unravel the clues of Stewart’s death and fall in love in the process.

Great read and Great author.

I enjoyed the first book in this trilogy, and was really looking forward to this story.

It took a few pages to get into it, but in true Kat Martin fashion, once it grabbed on, it didn't let go.

I remember Beau from Linc & Carly's story so it was so nice to get to know him. Cassidy is a strong little spitfire and their story is fast paced and full of adventure.

There's steamy parts, there's suspenseful parts, and there's a whole lot of whodunnit and it's all great! Can't wait for the next book!

Beyond Danger (The Texas Trilogy) by Kat Martin # 2 in the Texas Trilogy....Beau and Cassidy's story..Beau's first love died of cancer and he never wants to go through that pain again..so he never gets involved enough to fall in love...Cassidy is a hard working PI and has taken a job with his dad...first she hears him argue with his dad. the next day he is leaning over his dying father what is she to think. Together they work to solve the murder...and that's only the beginning of the drama. So many twists and turns..and feels...laughs and tears... I loved them both and hated to put the book down... I am looking forward to BEYOND CONTROL Josh and Tory's story...Thanks to #NetGalley for letting me preview this book...and thanks to Kat Martin for another great story.

Beyond Danger by Kat Martin
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Another exciting story in The Texas Trilogy. Beau and Cassidy start out on the wrong foot but have to start working together when Stewart, Beau's Father is killed. Seems something just does not make sense. There does not seem to be a reason for the murder. Stewart is a wheeler dealer who has made some enemies but all of the obvious ones are cleared. There is a exciting twist to the story line. Martin builds a large amount of tension as the plot continues to develop. Beau and Cassidy are both interesting and well developed characters. Fast paced and hard to put down are both qualities in Beyond Danger.

I received a free copy of the book in return for an honest review.

The second book in the Texas Trilogy is fantastic. Reading Beau's story after meeting him in "Beyond Reason" was all you could want in a suspense story of Beau and Cassidy. Their romance is blazing hot, but the mystery and secrets that draw them together and keep them together will keep you reading this book till you finish it! I totally recommend it as well as the first book in the series! These alpha males and the strong women who can handle them are amazing, Kat Martin will keep you reading more of her books - I have! I voluntarily received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I love these romantic suspense books from Kat Martin! A little lighter on the romance in this one, but a great story nonetheless. Beau had some emotional baggage that prevented him from realizing that Cassidy was a match for him, but the chemistry was definitely there. The plot twisted a couple times that made it interesting and kept me reading with fervor. I cannot wait for Josh's story!

This is the second book in the Texas Trilogy series. This might not have been my favorite Kat Martin book but I'm still enjoying this series. I enjoyed the mystery in it. I would still highly recommend to fans of hers or the genre.

Exciting romantic suspense. Interesting family and friend relationships. Strong woman meets strong, but damaged man. Their lives are endangered. Cool cars! I skipped the intimate sex scenes, but the story kept me engaged from beginning to end. Not a simple solution! I look forward to reading the next one in the trilogy.

This installment in this series is particularly interesting. Murder is seldom simple, and when you have a powerful person who had no qualms about breaking the rules as the victim the suspects are all too plentiful. They may even be planning to continue killing if anyone looks too closely. Add an intrepid female PI and the rich estranged son as a suspect and be prepared for a wild ride.

Ms. Martin consistently delivers on her promise of fast paced,  adrenaline pumping, high octane romance.
Did Beau kill his senator father.  Evidence suggests that Beau had a bone to pick with his father but murder? Cassidy Jones a private investigator hired by the senator is convinced of Beau's innocence despite the fact that she found him standing over his father's body holding the murder weapon.  As the two of them set out to prove Beau's innocence they uncover a hornet's nest that does it's best to sting them to death as well.
Beau's friend and business partner Lincoln Cain and Carly Drake make a brief cameo appearance as do other members of the private agency which has been featured in other books by Ms. Martin.  Beau and Cassidy are larger than life as they chase down clues and court danger to find out whodunit and why?
The ugliness of murder is balanced by the birth of Beau's half sister, the reason for Beau's anger with his father that seemed to lay the perfect false trail to cove up murder.  Things come together in a nice way introducing us to the hero of the next book in this series as he efficiently takes care of business from the sidelines.
An absolute winner. I seem to have an insatiable appetite for Ms. Martin's fare. Can't wait to read the next one in the series.

Another great story by a fantastic writer. This is the story of Beau, who finds his father, the senator, in a pool of blood. When Cassidy, the woman detective, walks in she sees Beau with the murder weapon in hand and covered in blood. When they decide to trust that each is not the killer, they decide to work together to solve the murder. A lot of mystery surrounding the underhanded dealings of the senator, including a terrorist cell and hired snipers. A few characters from previous stories, which was nice to see, but not needed to read the other books to enjoy this one. The only thing I didn't enjoy, and this may be just me, but the hanging on to the memory of a dead girlfriend who died of cancer didn't seem needed. So many other things going on, it seemed extra. Other than that, I highly recommend this book and author.

I really enjoyed this book. Lots of suspense, romance, and mystery. Beau and Cassidy, a P.I., are perfect together as the crime solving duo trying to solve the murder of Beau's father, a senator. Great story!

When Beau funds out his dad has gotten nineteen year old, Missy, pregnant he is beyond pissed. When he confronts his father and they argue he has no idea it will be the last time he sees him alive.

Cassidy has been hired to find the answers to the threat that Sen. Reese has felt, she doesn't realize that includes his own son. When she walks in and Reece has been stabbed and his son is holding the weapon she thinks she may have just found the threat.

After it becomes clear that both of their lives are in danger Cassidy and Beau have two things to figure out, who is trying to kill them and who killed the Senator. Will it be the same person or are they going to find out it's one of them?

I received this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This book starts off with a bang, pulling the reader into what promises to be a riveting, suspense-filled story involving interesting, dynamic characters. Unfortunately, for me personally, that really strong opening fizzled out by about 20% into the book. The pace of the story was bogged down by what I felt were unimportant details, and I found myself losing interest and skimming large chunks of text. Also, although the mystery aspect of the book is strong, the romance part takes more of a backseat; I would say this is more of a mystery with some romance sprinkled in rather than a romantic suspense book. Finally, this book is the second in the series, which I didn't realize going in. Although it became obvious that there had been a story prior to this one, at no point did I feel like I needed to have read the first book to understand what was going on in this one; this can definitely be read as a standalone. If you are looking for a good mystery with strong characters, give this one a try. If you're more interested in a romance with a suspenseful backdrop, you might want to look elsewhere.
