I was really intrigued by the premise of the book. I'm a sucked for undercover cop stories and this one sounded good. Unfortunately I couldn't connect with the characters. At times I struggled to understand why Blake was acting in such a dangerous way, that he could potentially put the investigation in jeopardy as well as civilian lives. I unfortunately couldn't finish reading this book.

Detective Blake Knight has been undercover before. But an assignment to bust a steroid ring running out of Dallas’s elite male strip club means his new cover will be nothing but his own taut muscles and oiled skin. It’s one thing for the tough, by-the-books agent to take down bad guys with his gun. Facing a rowdy crowd in only a G-string is another story . . . especially in front of his new boss, gorgeous, mysterious Reese Landon. Her father’s club and shady business practices bring back terrible memories for Reese. But when he’s shot and goes into a coma, she vows to protect him the way he never did for her. That means keeping the police at a distance—especially sexy, driven Detective Knight. If she has to give him a cover job, it would be a crime not to put that glorious ass on stage. But no matter how good he looks in a Velcro uniform, she can't trust him, or give into the undeniable heat between them. They're both chasing the truth. And it might expose more than either wants to show.
This was a pretty good book with lots of amusing parts to it. I really liked both characters. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

I love it when a book gets me so involved that it upsets me when something causes me to have to put it down. This is that book. A constant barrage of action and suspense. Blake and Reese were in fire and always chasing danger of being chased. I partly figured out the who, but totally was thrown a curveball at the end. Totally recommend this book that was provided by NetGalley

I LOVED this book!! Couldn't put it down. Karen Rock has really mastered the suspense filled genre with this title.

This was not a bad story and you have to admit the idea of a sexy cop going undercover at a strip club makes you swoon a bit. There is plenty of suspense and some serious sparks between Blake and Reese. I think that my problem was the pace of the story which was a little uneven. Sometimes I was liking it and sometimes I didn't feel the connection.

I had a difficult time getting into the story. I've been dragging my feet for a few months now and I can't bring myself to finish the story. I definitely think the book has an audience, this one just wasn't for me.

I loved this story by Karen Rock! It is the first book in her Dallas After Dark series and so far I'm loving it!
In this romantic suspense Detective Blake Knight has to go undercover as a male stripper in an elite male strip club to find and bust a steroid ring, but the one complication he doesn't expect is his new boss Reese Landon.
Reese hasn't been back to Dallas since that night so many years ago that shattered her innocence and trust in her father, but when her father is shot and goes into a coma she decides she will do everything that she can to protect him including keeping the police at a distance.
I'm looking forward to reading more of the books in this great series!

Steamy, potent and real! The kick off to Karen Rock’s new Dallas After Dark series is explosively HOT! Not only do we have a bad boy cop on the scene, but he’s also going undercover as a stripper … YUM! The main characters are easy to like and are well-developed, and the secondary characters lend a level of both humor and danger as subterfuge is overturned around every corner leaving them not knowing who to really trust. The overall plot of the story is interesting … there a few holes in the follow through, but overall a very entertaining read! You smile, you fan yourself here and there and on more than one occasion you hold your breath to see what’s going to happen next.

When Reese Landon learns her dad has been shot and is in a coma, she puts the past aside to come home and be by his side and hold down the fort for him on the business side of things. She grew up at Dallas Heat, so she knows the business like the back of her hand … what she doesn’t expect is a cop showing up saying he needs to be undercover in her dad’s club in order to bring down a steroid ring. Could her dad really be mixed up in this? She has to make protecting him her top priority … even if she feels like he didn’t do the same for her all those years ago!

Dallas detective Blake Knight pretty much lives his entire life undercover, but his past jobs have been nothing like this one! He can’t believe he’s going to stripping at Dallas Heat on a regular basis just to have an “in” to the club happenings! Reese is an added bonus though, because the sparks that fly when she’s anywhere close to him are bound to combust any minute now. As they grow closer, so does the danger surrounding them … and before they know it, they’re finding out the truth about key players that neither one of them wanted to be hearing!

Review:
This is my first time reading any of Ms. Rock's work and really enjoyed it.

This book is very suspenseful and action packed. It is also very sensual and sexy, Blake and Reese have great chemistry. I loved that both of them fight together and are both strong and very capable characters. I thought it was very interesting setting it around a strip club and illegal steroid dealing. It made it different and interesting. I was so hoping who I thought was behind Reese's father accident was not who it was, but it was, so I was sad for Reese with that betrayal. This was a fast and engaging read. It is also a stand alone, so no worries about being lost. I am glad I picked this up and will definitely read more by this Author.

Very enjoyable romantic suspense.

This is the first book of Karen Rock's new Dallas After Dark series. Detective Blake Knight has followed in his father's footsteps & joined the police force. To have a chance at a promotion he is assigned to work undercover, to bust a steroid ring. He has to work undercover at Dallas After Dark, working with the club owner's daughter.

Reese Landon has always dreamed of owning her own dance studio, not taking over her father's club. She has discovered some shady business practices and due to past experiences doesn't trust the police. She tries to keep Blake at a distance, especially because he is certain her father is guilty of running steroids in the club.

It was an enjoyable book, trying to figure out who the head of the steroids drug cartel was & who was involved with the selling of the drugs.

Undercover cop at a male review strip club? Yes, please. Thankfully Karen Rock made it happen in her latest suspense Dangerous Moves, the first in her Dallas after dark series. I fell in love with this book from the start. Rock got into Blake’s head fast and once she did that I was hooked. Reece is his perfect match. I would have liked them to start trusting each other sooner…my biggest love of romantic suspense is that it gets the hero and heroine to work together faster. When Rock finally brought them together she did it right. I can’t wait for the next book in the series.

I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this novel.

RATING 4.5 STARS

Dangerous Moves is the first book in the brand new Dallas After Dark series by Karen Rock. Up to this point, I’ve known Karen’s books as being sweet romance. As far as I know, this is her first venture into the steamy suspense trope. And she knocked it out of the park!

Detective Blake Knight works for the Dallas Police Department. Blake is a chameleon. He can work deep under cover and keep his cool, compartmentalizing the different parts of his life. In his world, everything is black or white. There are no gray areas. Blake lost his father a couple of years ago. Blake’s parents loved him but he is still fighting to feel like he really belonged. That he is making his father proud. If Blake could just get this promotion at work, he knows that he would. But in order to do that, Blake is given a new case to work on. Solve a steroid ring that seems to center around a hot male strip club in town, Dallas Heat.

Reese Landon fled Dallas twelve years ago for New York and hasn’t been back since, hasn’t spoken to her father in all this time. Something terrible drove Reese from Dallas, something that shaped who she is today. But instead of supporting her when she needed it most, her father put his business first and sent her away. Now, her father has been shot and is in a coma. He needs her to take over the business and be there for him. The more she tries to sort out his books, the more confused she becomes. What was her father involved in? What was he doing?

“Playing the long game was critical in undercover work, where hasty moves met with quick, deadly ends. Yet Reese shredded his restraint, shattered his inhibitions. She turned him into the kind of person he’d vowed never to be, one governed by want instead of reason.”

On Reese’s first day on the job, Blake comes in. He needs her to give him a job undercover in the club so he can find the drug ring’s leaders. Reese’s first instinct is to protect her father. She doesn’t know if he was involved or not. Can she risk this cop being in her club and possibly implicating her own father? On the other hand, she needs him to solve the steroid ring case. The chemistry is immediate between these two. They each are keeping secrets from each other but Blake can’t help but want to protect Reese. Whoever shot her father could come after her. Each of these two have something to prove to their fathers. Each of them know they definitely cannot act on the attraction sizzling between them. But as the danger escalates and their lives are threatened, the connection between them soon becomes too strong to deny.

“Blake made her forget what it was like to be alone, to have only yourself to depend on.”
But how could she open up to Blake when she needed to protect her family from him?”

This was such a good book. The steam factor between Blake and Reese was off the charts. These two burned up the pages. Together they both found something that had been lacking in their lives. They fit together like two puzzle pieces. But they viewed themselves as being on opposite sides of the case. Can they come together and find some middle ground? Can Reese show Blake that not everything is purely black and white? That sometimes, there is a gray area? The story builds and builds to a surprising climax. I loved these two together and what they brought out in each other. I’m so glad Karen took a chance on this series. The next book will be called Deadly Games and will be Nash’s story. He was definitely an interesting character in this book and look forward to his story.

Detective Blake Knight is going back undercover for a job after being heavily involved in a drug bust but he is shocked when his boss tells him he will now go as a stripper for the male strip club "Dallas Heat".

Reese Landon had no desire to come home ever again but when her father is shot and lying in a coma she must run his business and pick up the pieces.

Blake must discover how deep Reese is with her father's business but soon it is clear that Reese's life is in danger and that she has no idea what is going on. Reese herself must discover who to trust and what is going on and who wants her dead.

As things begin to heat up between Reese and Blake, Blake has to figure out a line to draw and can he protect Reese while still trying to get to the bottom of who is trying to kill her while his heart is involved?

This was such a great book filled with lots of mystery and intrigue from start to finish.

Blake was a great detective and knew what he was after but had no idea how much he would fall for Reese. He wanted to keep her safe but knew at a certain point he had to tell her some of what was going on.

Reese was awesome and I hated that she came back to the mess that she did. I was sad at a certain part that she did not trust her intuition as she knew something was not right but just could not put her finger on it. She was told to leave town after an incident in the past and I had a feeling things would be connected.

I knew by 25% in some of the characters involved but I had to wait and see whether or not I was right and how things would turn out. I was not disappointed in the least to have figured it out as I knew there would still be a couple of twists and turns!

This was a great read and I look forward to more from this author!

Well I have to say this was a great surprise in a really good way! It is a romantic suspense that also had me laughing out loud at times and definitely not wanting to put it down until I’d finished it. My advice is grab yourself a copy and read it for yourself, rather than reading my review!

For those who are still reading this, just imagine a cop going undercover to work as a dancer in an elite male strip club! No wonder this story is called ‘Dangerous Moves’ – he certainly needs to learn the moves in his new role! His new boss is Reese Landon, who has returned to run the club after her father was shot and went into a coma. She’d been dancing her way around the world and hadn’t been home for many years because of what happened made her leave and drove a wedge between her and her father. She’s hoping to reconnect with him but there are secrets to be uncovered and danger all around. It seems she is now in the firing line for whoever shot her Dad. Can Detective Blake Knight learn to perform on stage? Can he protect Reece and keep her safe? On top of all that can they ignore the attraction which they both feel – or will love find a way to get them together?

The story is beautifully written, flowing smoothly and engaging the reader with the superb mix of humour, suspense, drama and steamy romance. The characters are well developed and easy to relate to, the plot enthralling and the whole story a great read. It is a story of searching for the truth, protecting your family, being brave and facing your fears as well as being deceived. I thoroughly enjoyed this story, the first in a new series, and I can’t wait to read the next book which tells Nash’s story!

I requested and received a copy of this novel. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

A good combination of humor, suspense, and romance in a story that has a unique setting of a cop in a strip on an undercover operation club and takes realistic turns in the plot twists.
The suspense, while a little predictable, it was enticing and entertaining and kept my interest to see how it all would play out even though the culprits were rather obvious from the first half of the story.
Detective Blake Knight and Reese Landon had hot chemistry between them. The banter was lively and sexy with all the innuendos. Both of them had issues from their childhoods that they needed to work on and resolve to be able to move on, thus the character development was one of the main themes of the tale. There is a lot of back and forth between with the developing relationship them that went a little further into the story that I would have preferred.
A good story, but not quite on the level that I was expecting.

This is the start of a new series and I loved it, it is fast paced a very sensual and emotional romance and edge of your seat suspense with danger and lots of action thrown in, MS Rock has penned a story that is sure to keep the reader involved and turning the pages as undercover cop Blake Knight and dancer Reece Landon race together to uncover a steroid ring and their feelings for each other.

Reece has come back to Dallas after being away for twelve years, her father has been shot and is in a coma and there is a lot going on that Reece is determined to get to the bottom of, but firstly she needs to get her Fathers All Male Revue club Dallas Heat up to scratch and see what she can uncover with the books, but when she meets cop Blake and takes him on as a dancer her emotions are starting to run amuck.

Blake is working hard to get a promotion and breaking this case will nail it for him but he doesn’t count on Reece being in the picture because it is not long before he vows to keep her safe at all costs, but Reece is not fond of cops and he needs to work out why before he can get her to trust him. Blake has a lot of issues from his past that he needs to overcome as well and together they may be able to get there.

I really enjoyed this story it has everything that a good romantic suspense should have as well as gorgeous guys who dance on stage there is fun dialogue throughout that will have you smiling and Reece what a heroine hurt as a young girl and woman nothing can stop her strength and determination to get to the truth and Blake what a hero he dances well has a witty sense of humour and is so caring and protective. There are twists and turns in this one that will have you yelling at the bad guys and cheering the good guys one. This is a story that I highly recommend I am really looking forward to the next one in the series YAY MS Rock this is a fabulous story.
