I requested this one back in the day as I had every intention of reading it. However, its been years and I still haven't gotten around to it and while I feel guilty at not reviewing a book I think that I need to admit to myself that I won't be reading this one anytime soon....if at all.

This was a decent story and I somewhat enjoyed both the hero and the heroine. Kyle and Maggie were both well-written characters. However, nothing really stood out making it a great book.

Way back in 2007, I came across Giving Chase by Lauren Dane and I was hooked on the Chase family and Petal, Georgia. To this day this series remains one of my favorite family series because I adore the characters so much. I will say that Ms. Dane has grown as a writer by leaps and bounds since this book was written, but that is the beauty of a re-release; it allows you to appreciate where the author came from and how well she has honed her craft. That being said, I still LOVE this book. Yes, it is a little rough around the edges, yes some of the characters are bit over the top, but you know what? I don’t care because the core characters landed in my heart years ago and they remain today.

All of her life Margaret “Maggie” Wright has been treated like the ugly step sister by her mother and sister and while her father sometimes faced the wrath of her mother to treat her right for the most part Maggie lived a very lonely life. She’s at the point in her life where she wants to find someone to share it with, but the pickings are slim in Petal, Georgia except for the elusive Chase brothers.

Kyle Chase is fascinated by Maggie after she tells off his big brother Shane and he backs off when Shane asks her out, but after Shane treats her poorly, Kyle jumps in to show her that the Chase men were brought up better than that and he aims to play for keeps.

I always appreciated that this story had several layers keeping the reader on their toes; Maggie’s combative relationship with her family, the fact that a guy she dated is stalking her, Kyle dealing with Shane’s jealousy even though he was in the wrong, Maggie dealing with jealous women in town because she is dating Kyle, and Maggie finally understanding what it means to have family as Kyle’s embraces her.

I love that we saw the metamorphosis of Maggie as she began to realize her self worth and I loved that despite how hard they fell Kyle wasn’t freaked out about it despite being a serial dater. They really complemented one another and brought out the best in one another.

Sweet, funny, sexy, with a bit of suspense to make it interesting I still adore Giving Chase and can’t wait to re-read the next book in this series!

His sweet persona is touching and as their relationship unfolds within the story it gives us all hope for finding love when we least expect to. What was an enjoyable, light and sweet read. And a fantastic introduction to the Chase brothers. Seriously, who can resist an uplifting story about people who were kindhearted and loved each other just for who they are? This is a feel good book--an easy to escape from reality read. And one I recommend.

Even Maggie doesn’t quite get it, but after a failed relationship and a disastrous attempt to get back out there, she’s no match against the famous Chase charm, and Kyle has it in spades. Kyle wants Maggie in his life—and in his bed—and he doesn’t mind getting down and dirty to prove it. For years he’s avoided the kind of trouble that comes with “good girls” like her, but Maggie’s the best trouble he’s ever been in. He craves more of it. And more of her. Giving Chase is a story that surprised me more than once. Maggie is a sweetheart that has not idea how attractive she is thanks to her family. What the blurb leaves out is that Kyle is the third guy she tries to date in a short period of time. The first is possessive and she heads the warning signs and calls it quits. The second is Kyle's brother- which leads to all sorts of doubt and complications that are the heart of the story. As usually, Dane does a wonderful job of bringing her characters to life. Maggie and her friends are wonderfully dynamic and have great interactions. The Dane family is wonderful, and I wish every town had a family like this- not just because of the number of hot, well raised guys, but because they honestly care about each other and those around them. There were moments of the book that did not work for me, but those are because of my hang ups rather than anything with the book. I will admit that I do enjoy the new books from Dane much more- but while waiting for new books strolling through the Chase brother series could be a good diversion, and make the new books shine even more once I get my hands on them.

Giving Chase is an early book from Dane, and I can see how much she has grown as a writer. The read was fast and engaging, but not my favorite romance from her.

Margret aka Maggie is the unattractive sister... at least that's what her mother and sister have told her all her life. So Maggie has relied on her brain. She's really smart and loves History. Which is why she returned to Petal, Georgia to be a teacher.

Out with her friends, after finding her boyfriend sleeping with another woman, she's having a girls night and a few drinks. When Shane Chase, bumps into her spilling her chili cheese fries all over her, he's not very nice about it. Only to have Maggie give him what-for.

Unused to women giving him lip, Shane is soon asking Maggie out. Maggie is flattered, since every woman in town has a crush on the Chase brothers. But when things go south, it's Shane's bother Kyle who picks up the pieces and takes his chances with the sexy school teacher.

Kyle tries to show Maggie that she's just as beautiful, if not more than any of the women in his past. But when her past tries to harm her, it's Kyle and all the Chase brothers who ban together to help her before it's too late.

I liked it for the most part, I just had an issue (view spoiler) at the end. But it made for good drama.

What I found enjoyable about Giving Chase was the amount of emotion that I felt from Maggie. I also liked that Maggie was able to overcome her early life with her sister and mother who were difficult at best to live with. I liked that Maggie moved on from Alex and then had relationships with two of the brothers. The Chase family is a good strong background upon which to set this story. Kyle was definitely a shining star out of this story. Very good. Thank you for sharing.

I love books about brothers who one by one fall in love. This first book in Lauren Dane's new series about the Chase brothers had a lot of my catnip. A "good girl" heroine being pursued and swept off her feet by the town hottie. And the small town intrigue and gossip that goes along for the ride. It was a sexy, fast-paced story and made me want to read about the other three brothers and their love stories to come. Lauren Dane is always a good read and one of my favorite authors.

I didn't realize this was a reprint of some of her previous work until after I read it. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great. Lauren Dane is one of my all-time favorite authors and if this earlier work... I'll just say that she has definitely gotten better and better with every book. This one was a little too predictable. A little to cheesy.

Enjoyable read. The characters were interesting but I felt it needed more on the story line and on the characters development. I liked the concept of the book though and will give the other books in the series a try.

This was an enjoyable and sweet romantic read that I enjoyed form start to finish. I enjoyed the characters and the storyline of this book.

Kyle doesn't usually go for the good girl but Maggie is one girl he can't walk away from. Maggie finds it hard to resist Kyle's charm. They start to get close but then Maggie past starts to come back and that brings trouble.

As always, Lauren Dane has delivered a fantastic read. Giving Chase was a well written, engaging book that I really enjoyed. Can't wait for her next book!

I liked the emotional side of this romance. The emotion that Lauren Dane packed into Maggie's character was great. I was not really into her falling for 2 of the Chase brothers but when Maggie was feeling heartbreak I believed her.

Overall a pretty good book, I could quickly tell that this was a re-write but it was still a solid romance

Super sexy Kyle Chase falls head over heels for school teacher Maggie when he sees her fiery side.
Maggie has horrible self esteem and doesn’t feel like she good enough for any of the Chase Brothers and she doesn’t know what to do when she has 2 of them pursuing her.

Can’t wait to read about the rest of the Chase Brothers finding love esp Shane’s story.

Lauren Dane is a new author to me but after reading Giving Chase I will certainly be looking at other books by her. Book 1 in the Chase Brother series based on four hot brothers, this is landscaper Kyle Chase and school teacher Maggie Wright’s story. The Chase brothers are guys girls crush over and Maggie is no different she has had a crush on Shane Chase as long as she can remember but one date was all it took for her to realise he wasn’t the man for her. Kyle Chase is not only hot he also has a heart of gold so much more suited to the sweet history teacher but are they both ready for a serious relationship..........
This is a sweet easy to read romance but the what I loved most was getting to know the Chase family and in this book you get to know every member which sets the scene for the rest of the series. Looking forward to reading about the other hot brothers. Great job Lauren Dane

This just didn’t wow me. I don’t know if it’s because I read so much romance that I need something to really stand out to me, or it just really fell flat on its own.

Maggie was your average heroine. Glasses and got a makeover, now everyone wants to date her. It took A WHILE before I got into the story! It took longer to figure out which guy was supposed to the main love interest. I didn’t care for the whole triangle between Maggie, Shane, and Kyle. I also felt the dynamic of the Chase family was over the top.

Maggie and Kyle have a very sweet romance, the story just wasn’t for me.

This is a re-release of an older book and I think that the blurb leaves out a few things that might be important to readers that the original included :)  So thanks to a night out and a bit of an accident with a plate of chili cheese fries, good girl Maggie finds herself on the radar of the Chase brothers.  What this new blurb doesn’t share is that her first outing is with Shane Chase, town sheriff.  Unfortunately for Maggie (and Shane, but good news for Kyle), thanks to a previous relationship Shane is scared of anything even just the tiniest bit resembling commitment.  When he thinks that a couple of dates with Maggie could actually have him wanting more, he heads for the hills … leaving Maggie to be swept off her feet by his brother. 

Now, some could find this a little awkward but I think that Dane does an absolutely fantastic job of addressing it and really the two of them never get all that involved.  Instead it gives Kyle the perfect opportunity to show Maggie that not all Chase men are the same and that he’s ready to be the stand-up guy she needs. 

The Chases are so close and the connection between them is wonderful to see.  All of them, even Shane after a few awkward moments, accept Maggie into the family.  She finds herself being shown the love and support that her own family has never given her … and that she sorely needs.  But Maggie has a stalker and he’s not too happy about Kyle.  It’s going to take all of Maggie’s strength and the support of the Chases to keep her safe.     
Giving Chase has a lot heartwarming moments, especially as Maggie starts to really believe in herself and the love that Kyle is offering her.  But Dane mixes it well with the danger and action of dealing with a troubled ex who isn’t willing to let Maggie go.  I highly recommend giving this one a shot and I'm looking forward to seeing the rest of the Chase brothers find their match!

Wonderful book: Sweet, and hot romance, too good-to-be-true hero, gutsy heroine, and a really quick, easy read.
.Maggie's a high school history teacher, Kyle is a landscaper and one of four very fine Chase brothers. Maggie's got a bit of an inferiority complex, largely due to (IMO) a mentally ill mother and sister.

Maggie originally starts out dating Kyle's older brother Shane, but Shane, burned by a former girlfriend, treats Maggie shabbily. Brother Kyle, who lusts after Maggie from afar, makes his move when it's clear that nothing will develop between Shane and Maggie. And Kyle and Maggie hit it off immediately.

This is what I'd call a feel good romance. It's on the mild side of erotic, has a nice easy plot to follow, and wonderful characterizations.
