Half vampire hunts full vampires for an ungrateful town. When one mission fails the town hires another vampire hunter, leaving her to rage, and of course fall in lust for the new guy, who’s as arrogant as. . . every other male lead character in this kind of romance/erotica.
Like a lot of books in this genre, the author takes every opportunity—at least once a page—to turn an innocent phrase into sexual innuendo about how much her body wants him even though she can’t stand him. A few funny ones are good, but there’s just too much of this. At times it feels like padding, and it’s a short book as it is.
Everyone in this story is an ass, except for the female lead. Even the goddess is unworthy.
Here’s the good things. In addition to some snarky humor, the ending is incredibly original, at least something I’ve never come across. While I enjoyed this story for the most part, despite it being by-the-numbers, the ending kicked it up a notch.
3.5 pushed up to 4/5

I voluntarily read an advanced reviewers copy of this book

This book was interesting because it was a nice mix of the paranormal worlds. I really liked Amelia because she refused to give up on what she wanted no matter how far fetched it was. While her life is at risk we all can't help but notice that Delacouer has his own secrets to hide that do nothing but ruin all of Amelia's plans.

Overall this book was good, it is fiction... but some parts while far fetched... helped to seal the deal in a very good HEA.

Amelia was half vampire, half human that would normally put to death. Because she could be turned into a daywalker the most dangerous type of vampire to exist. But Amelia had become a vampire hunter and she and her team went hunt out nests of vampires and destroy But most of all Amelia wanted to kill Fedor who had ruined her life. But the last mission had went wrong and some of her team paid the price. The council had brought in a famous vampire hunter Deloney. Amelia got the council to tell Deloney that she was to be allowed to go on the hunt. While on the hunt at a certain point Deloney told Amelia to stay put but she didn’t listen and Fedor ended up with Amelia but Deloney ran him off as he was a Amelia werewolf but if known he would be killed. Amelia and Deloney had a hot chemistry but at the last moment Amelia pulled away from him.
This wasn’t really for me. It was a short read but I just couldn’t seem to connect with this story or it’s characters.

I found "The Hunt" to be a fascinating read. Good paranormal elements.

I feel torn on my review, I do think that there is a market for this, but there were some holes for me which caused this to be a miss for me. I had a hard time connecting to this story and think it just might be me.

I have mixed feelings on this book. I liked the premise but the characters were hard for me to connect to. I thought the plot was intriguing and I liked the thought of the legend of the day walker, but I felt that aspects were not explained well, such as being half vamp and how Fedor found her in the first place.

Also Delaney seemed to have a major personality switch from the first part of the book to after the initial encounter with the vamps.

Unfortunately this was a miss for me, but it could be that just not meant for me. I do think people will enjoy it but the characters just weren't to my taste.

The Hunt delivered a great, short read in between finishing up my Christmas wrapping. I loved having something quick to read and this paranormal romance was just what I needed. It definitely left me wanting more from Suzanne Jefferies.
