This is always my go-to to find out what books I want to read in the coming months. So helpful!!
Thank you netgalley for the free ARC. I like the idea of knowing what is coming out bookwise. This allowed me to request some of the books ahead of time!
This is the first time that I've read a Buzz Books edition and it was a fantastic glimpse at some of the books being released in the upcoming months. The book has 3 main sections - books from previously published authors, books from debut authors, and nonfiction books. The first thing that surprised me was how many books were featured here. There is a short summary of each book and then 1 or more of the first chapters are printed for you to read. This was a great way to sample books that I'm already looking forward to reading and to also give me exposure to some books that I may not have selected on my own. This only made my list of books to read longer, but was a great collection of samples.
I always love these buzz books! I love seeing whats coming out and figuring out what interests me and getting an idea of what to buy and read!
Love getting a preview of such a large variety of books! Can't wait for the next one!
I really, really love Buzz Books! In addition to finding new (and sometimes very unexpected!) material that I selfishly like to read, as a librarian, these excerpts allow me to offer patrons better readers’ advisory because they cover such a wide variety of subjects. I love the fact that the links to requests of the full galley are usually at the end of each preview and I also love how there are now monthly installments of the series! I look forward to reading these and I can’t wait for the next!
Great collection of excerpts. I can't wait for the full version of some of these books. My TBR definitely gets bigger with each Buzz Books collection.
Thanks so much for the forward planner! I am finding these guides incredibly helpful.
So thankful for these publications highlighting books to hype to our patrons!
I came into what can be best described as a sampling or works that weren't on my radar at all, and was quite pleasantly surprised by what I discovered. In particular, it looks like "The Neuroscientist Who Lost Her Mind" might have just picked up a potential reader!
I'm so happy to be included in this preview, and I so very much enjoyed reading the snippets of upcoming buzz books!
There is no better bang for your buck that a Buzz Book. They are published twice a year Spring/Summer and Fall/Winter in two different volumes, Adult and Y/A (Young Adult).
This year's Adult Spring/Summer includes excerpts from 40 books (22 Fiction, 11 Debut Fiction, and 7 Non-fiction) covering a wide range of genres and subjects.
This is the perfect way to know what books are being talked about amongst publishers, and to see what you'd like to add to your Want to Read shelf!
Many thanks to NetGalley and Publisher's Lunch for allowing me to read and review this year's Spring/Summer Adult issue.
I always enjoy the Buzz Books samplers from the Publishers Lunch group as the excerpts help me to decide whether or not to certain books would be for me. I also love getting a taste of the hottest fiction and non-fiction titles and discovering new titles that I'm needing to read fully after sampling just a bit of it. Because of this, particular Buzz Books 2018 sampler I have already requested The Summer Wives by Beatriz Williams to read and review on my blog. Additionally, I will be adding Mario Giordano's Auntie Poldi and the Sicilian Lions, Ann Mah's The Lost Vintage and perhaps Between Earth and Sky by Amanda Skenandore to my TBR list.
As always, Buzz Books is a wonderful for source in deciding whether or not I’m going to want to cover the most buzzed about upcoming titles!
Buzz Books 2018 did not have many titles I was interested in.
An excellent overview of books launching in 2018, featuring several titles I already had on my list and introducing several more I had not yet heard of.
Among others, I'll be keeping my eyes out for:
- Motherhood by Sheila Heti
- Happiness by Aminatta Forna
- My Year of Rest and Relaxation by Ottessa Moshfegh
- Tin Man by Sarah Winman
- Tell the Machine Goodnight by Katie Williams
- The Electric Woman by Tessa Fontaine
- Can't Help Myself by Meredith Goldstein
It's wonderful to be able to read excerpts.
This is incredibly helpful for tracking titles on NetGalley, and also to guide my recommendations for personal reading and for recommendations to my coworkers and sometimes students! I am so excited for a handful of the books, more so after the extracts!
Great previews! many upcoming books that I am excited to read soon!
This source is invaluable as a tool to us librarians! Keep making it available, it is a treat!
Another great selection of new books. Looking forward to investigating them further. Looking forward to the next edition.
