Another good sampler. Great to get an idea of what's up and coming, and read passages to see if the writing style is one that I'll be able to enjoy a full book of.

So many interesting books are excerpted here that I could stay busy just with these titles. The four that I will definitely read are:
Beatrice Williams -- The Summer Wives
Eldonna Edward -- This I Know
Charlie Soul -- The Oracle Year
Katie Williams -- Tell the Machine Goodnight

So thrilled to see that Ruth Ware has a new (not yet titled) book coming out this spring! I am also excited to see that Riley Sager has a new book out this year, as I enjoyed Final Girls by her. One of my favorite new authors from last year, JP Delaney, has a new book out in August called Believe Me. 2018 is shaping up to be a fabulous year!

It looks like it’s going to be an outstanding spring and summer for reading! The lengthy book excerpts along with the list of upcoming titles that Buzz Books provide are a great resource for planning, reading, and reviewing upcoming books. I especially appreciate the broad variety of genres included, with books by both debut and well-established authors. A great preview and lots of books to be excited about!

I love these buzz periodicals. They give you a good sense of what’s coming down the publishing pipeline. I only wish they would add covers for the books, especially fiction. It’s difficult to assess fiction just from the title alone. But they do have excerpts from some of the books and that help tremendously. Thanks to Netgalley for providing and here is what I’m looking forward to:
Fiction

The Perfect Mother by Aimee Molly-already optioned for film by Kerry Washington
Night Hawks by Charles Johnson
A View Of The Empire at Sunset by Caryl Phillips
What We Were Promised by Lucy Tan
Number One Chinese Restaurant by Lillian Li
Severance:A Novel by Ling Ma

Non-fiction

Open Season: The Systemic Legalization of Discrimination by Benjamin Crump
Not That Bad: Notes from Rape Culture edited by Roxanne Gay
Barracoon: The Story of the Last Slave by Zora Neale Hurston
Factfulness: The Ten Reasons We’re Wrong About the World
The Prison Letters by Nelson Mandela

I really enjoy reading every issue of Buzz Books because every time I find many interesting books to add to my TBR. In this edition of Buzz Books 2018 : Spring/Summer I discovered books that had heard and after reading an excerpt from it I added it immediately to my TBR. I also found books that I didn't know but I look forward to learn more about them and read them.
