I was a little pebble.
I lived by a river, with other friends, as smooth and round as me.
One day, all of a sudden, two hands – not big, not too big - lifted me up. And two eyes - those, yes, big and shining - looked closely at me.
Then, under the eyes, blossomed a beautiful smile.
That's how my adventure began...

... and look at me now. I'm shiny and colorful! All thanks to those hands and to the fantasy of that little girl. And thanks to "Stone Painting for Kids", the beautiful book by Sehnaz Bac. Give it to the children close to you. Give to all of us pebbles a sparkling life!
I'm speaking in the pebblic interest! Spread the word, we can use a little pebblicity.!

The publisher was kind enough to provide me with a copy of this book to review. All opinions are my own and honest.

Stone Painting for Kids is a beautiful and inspirational book for kids young and old. There are many inspirational designs as well as games you can create. Some of the designs are a bit more geared to older children and adults that can follow the directions but there are definitely some that younger children can do on their own or with some guidance. I do wish there were more specific instructions for some of the designs but for the most part I found it easy to follow. The photos are amazing and very inspiring to look at. My day job is as a kindergarten teacher and I look forward to using some of these designs and tips to inspire my students to paint some of their own stones this spring.

The activities can be used at home or at school. A very good choice of creatives ideas form children from 5 to 9 years old. The book contains suggestions of different media like pebbles and shells.

Interesting title with ideas for painting and activities to do with a rock collection. I enjoyed the ideas of dominos, memory games and scenario play. The painting ideas where different elements (head, body, arms, etc) are on different rocks would be interesting to play with younger children as they "built" their people. This isn't something that I would buy, but it is something I would check out from the library and has activities I would do with my own children.

I wish I could give a more fair assessment. The protected epublished version came to the Aldiko app all garbled - twice. Pictures did not come through! ; ( The little I could see of the topics looked interesting, but the print overlapped, but without pictures were pretty meaningless. The book looks fun, from the little I could decipher of it. It mentioned shells and included projects like a chessboard, trains, tic-tac-toe.

This book is Beautiful to look at it is bright and colorful. The instructions are easy to follow, but I have done stone painting with my children and I felt that the ideas should have been more unique. I think this book is geared towards 5-6 year olds. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Netgalley.

STONE PAINTING FOR KIDS by F. Sehnaz Bac is a great crafting book for kids. I appreciate that it encourages kids to get outside and look around and use their imagination to pick out their stones. With the vivid images and step by step processes, any child that wants to learn to paint on stones will make the most of this book. The chapters are broken down by type of images and the book offers a lot of suggestions to do with rocks that I wouldn't have come up for my children. I also really appreciate the introductory chapter which walks the children through the supplies they need and how to collect the best stones. If you only get one book to help your children embrace the relaxing and creative art of stone painting, this is it.

I received an Advance Review Copy of this book. All opinions are my own.

Easy and colourful book which would keep the children amused through the holidays. Make a stone domino set or maybe a chess set, or just make some very colourful creatures out of seaside stone and paint.

This will be such a hit with my patrons. We have held several events in the last year for rock painting, this is a much needed resource with a brilliant collection of various designs children will love to recreate and put their own spin on.

I just reviewed Stone Painting for Kids by F. Sehnaz Bac. #StonePaintingForKids #NetGalley
Great rock painting book for kids and adults. Love the pictures and the step by step instructions. There are nice rocks in this book. Not only instructions for painting the rocks, but how to pick out the right book, and prep it.

Such a fun book! Rock painting has been done for decades, but this book makes it new again. It explains how to pick the perfect stone, how to prep the stone, and what you can use to paint the stone. There are many colorful photos with examples of what can be painted on a stone and how you can display the stones. For example, you can paint a few stones which when displayed will look like a person or a mushroom. There are also examples of painting shells and stones to make a fish. How about a painted rock chess game? Maybe decorating rocks with washi tape? The end of the book gives ideas as to how teachers or parents can use painted rocks to help teach younger children.

I was given an excerpt of this book to review. Unfortunately, the excerpt didn't include the 'how to' part of the books so I cannot comment on whether the instructions were good, bad or indifferent. However, the designs were very bright, colourful and very creative with some original ideas like Tic, Tac, Toe (Noughts and Crosses) and chess games made from painted stones. The book also shows you how to build up your patterns and designs and create designs from several stones.

I just wonder why this book is for kids? I'm sure this would be equally enjoyed by adults too! I would also teach this to my adult students with learning difficulties and disabilities.

All in all, a great little book to, as it says on the front cover, 'spark your creativity'.

Many thanks to Netgalley for providing me with this ARC, for which I have given a voluntary and unbiased review.

Stone Painting for Kids is part 'how to paint stones' and part 'what to do with the stones after you have painted them'. The instructive steps on how to achieve different adorable designs are accompanied by detailed photographs, and provide a solid base of tools to use when painting other designs. The games and learning activities that you can do with the stones ensure that the stones will be used for more than decoration (decoration is a fine use, to be sure!).

After finishing this book, the reader will
- know exactly how to paint butterflies, animals, faces, houses, flowers and more,
- have the skills needed to paint any designs on stones
- know a number of games and learning activities with which to use the stones

Very cute, approachable, and definitely for all ages. Highly Recommended.

This book is a follow-up to the bestselling "Art of Stone Painting." It is a book that will inspire, ignite imaginations, and cultivate creative thinking and artistic skills.

The very talented author offers step-by-step instructions as to how kids successfully can choose some blank bland stones and turn them into works of art. She explains how they can select the type and shape of stones needed, the paint and tools necessary and the best workspace in which to engage in this delightful activity. She offers simple, understandable techniques to ignite minds and hearts thus becoming a master stone painter.

She displays a wonderful gallery of patterns: animals, human faces and bodies, numbers and letters, plus images found everywhere in nature. She features how stone painting can be used to play games and for storytelling.

The 96 page book is filled with amazing ideas that will get kids thinking, designing and kept very busy and happy. It is a perfect introduction to this form of art and features bold, vibrant colours that kids will love working with (and adults too!). I highly recommend this book.

A cool project for kids is painting stones! This book has a lot of ideas and all the information you need in order to get started - with preparing your stones and what supplies you will need. There are various techniques featured and different pictures of ideas that you can use for your own stones or to give you ideas to come up with something creative on your own. For added fun, you can even add googly eyes! Or paint several different rocks that can create a larger object or animal when they are all placed together!

Stone painting seems to have gotten to be very popular lately and this book is sure to give you some great ideas! I received a free e-copy of this book in order to write this review, I was not otherwise compensated.

Another winner from Dover Publications. Where to find stones, how to prepare them and materials needed are explained. Colorful, well-organized, step-by-step photos accompany each project category--flowers, words, numbers, letters, fish, and more. The ease of the projects, child-friendly designs, and vibrant colors differentiate this painting-on-rocks book from the ones geared primarily for adults. A good introduction for all rock painters, regardless of age.
