I love a good series that each book can be read as a standalone. That is exactly what the Haven, Montana Series is. Each member of the McGowan family will get their own book to tell their story and I am so excited to get to know each one of them.
Never Let Go is Trent’s story. Well, Trent and Adrianna’s story. Both are from Haven but Adrianna left and is only back to protest against Trent’s family’s business. Seems an unlikely match but it makes sense. I love that Trent understands that Addy is just doing her job and respects that she is standing up for what she believes in. Addy also respects Trent and understands that he is also doing his job and that all may not be what it seems with his family business.
One of my favorite parts of this story is the McGowan family. Without questions, without doubts they accept Addy into their family with open arms. They take her in when her own family turns her back on her, when she has no one else to turn to, and when she just needs support. Their open, loving style of love his absolutely amazing and explains why Trent has grown up to be the man he is. I love that his mom lays down the rules to him when Addy spends the night even though they are both grown adults.
The romance is the focus of the story but it was interesting to see the story of Dennis and the family business be carried over from the first book. There is still a mystery of Dennis and if he is going to be found out to be the culprit behind all the trouble in Haven, Montana. Throw in Darla and I am sure there is so much more excitement to come in the next book in the series.
I would recommend picking up your own copy and meeting the amazing residents of Haven, Montana.
Thank you Montlake for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review.
Addy is in charge of a group of protesters who are keeping eyes on the McGowen family. Trent is the middle brother, in charge of land development.
The mystery deepens as the family gets closer to sharing their big secret (the technology their father created). We are still left with several suspects. There is also the tragedy of suicide in this story.
A good read and I’m antsy to find out who was behind all the bad stuff.
The second book in this series and in this one Adrianna an environmentalist who was also in the first book comes home to protest and find out what Trent and his family are going to do with some land that they bought. The rumor is oil and that is why the protest, but growing up in the area her group thinks she might be able to find out more. The problem with that whole thought is Trent has always liked her and finds ways to spend time with her. This makes her feel good but also adds her to the lists of attacks that keep happening to the family, she also is worried about her job with the protest group. In the middle of all of that she is dealing with a family problem that becomes much more than it starts out as and adding that with Trent and his family you have a good book. The characters are good, you find out a lot about Adrianna and her family, but you still do not find out who has been causing all of the destruction that has been going on since the first book. That is my only negative in the whole thing. Overall a good story.
This is a book in Jill Sanders' Haven, Montana series. It is a good stand alone story. Addy Collins is an environmentalist who was born and lived in Haven, Montana until she was old enough to go out on her own. Addy has returned working for an environmental group trying to stop businesses from polluting the earth. Trent McGowan is running his father's oil company with his brothers and Addy has been sent to find out why they were buying a large tract of land and what they were going to with it. Addy takes an interest in Trent to see if she can find out what's going on. The problem is that Addy had a crush on Trent when they were younger and he paid no attention to her. Accordingly Addy takes a just friends attitude with getting to know Trent. As the romance heats up the reader learns Addy's feelings are fueled by how her parents treated her growing up. She also envies Trent's large family and their loving relationship. Things start to go wrong as first Addy's car gets blown up, Addy fights with a former girlfriend, someone from the environmental group is up to no good, etc. There's also a wedding being planned for one of Trent's brothers. There's more and the storyline moves along quickly through all kinds of situations. The story comes to a satisfactory conclusion and there are no loose ends to tie up with this storyline but of course there's more to come from the town of Haven, Montana.
Another win by Jill Sanders. Her writing is awesome. I was pulled in from the beginning and didn't put it down till I finished it. Loved the characters, loved the story.
The second installment to the Haven, Montana series was very interesting, but definitely left you hanging so you know there has to be at least a 3rd book coming which is good news if you love a series to keep you interested like I do. Intriguing plot with interesting characters that have been well developed. You either really like them or really don't as the author intends you to have feelings of like/dislike for them individually. I'm looking forward to seeing where the series goes and the series is definitely making me miss Montana! I see a return trip to Montana in my future both in the series and in real life!
Love the McGowan brothers! Trent and Addy's story is sexy, hot, suspenseful, with mystery and many heart warming moments. I was drawn into the story right away and wasn't ready for it to end! Jill has a way of writing that just draws you into the story and makes you fall in love with the characters. Still unanswered questions and mysteries to be solved. Can't wait for the next book!
Emotionally charged, action packed, sexy sweet second chance romance for two child hood sweethearts that just could not be more perfect.
Trent McGowan sweet, sexy, charming and the McGowan brother that is considered the lady's man. Together with his brothers they are struggling to make a go of the family oil business when protesters line up at the gates and a flash from the past is front and center. Environmentalist Adrianna Collins is smart, sexy, strong and back in her home town of Haven, Montana to stop destructive oil mining not to re-spark old flames. Some things just can not be denied though. Highly entertaining and emotionally thrilling reunion love that I just could not put down.
Never Let Go is an excellent addition to the Haven,Montana series by Jill Sanders. While there is a back story that continues from Book One, it's certainly not a deal breaker if you don't read them in order.
The McGowans are a close knit family, especially after the loss of their father, and it pulled at the heart strings the way they brought Addy into the fold right from the start to show her love and support that she never experienced from her own family.
This story was heart warming, action packed, romantic and full of suspense. I adored Trent and Addy right from the start and enjoyed watching their relationship grow. Great addition to the series. I cannot wait to see what the author has in store for us next.
Trent McGowan and Adrianna 'Addy' Collins are on opposing sides when it comes to oil mining. While Addy is determined to stop the destructiveness of it, Trent and his brothers are doing everything they can to make certain their father's legacy remains alive. However, Trent has always considered Addy to be the one woman that got away, and now he's determined to do everything he can to prove that he is the right man for her. Will Addy give Trent a chance, or will the wounds of her past never heal enough to be able to give the pair a shot at happy ever after?
Sitting down to read a book by Ms. Sanders is always a good time, as her books have incredible characters, fast-paced storylines that are filled with plenty of obstacles the main characters need to overcome, and the dialogue is always compelling and makes this reader so determined to learn what the characters have gone through in their pasts and what they will go through on their journey to happy ever after. And I've got to say that this book was an absolutely enthralling read that grabbed my undivided attention from the very beginning and didn't let go until I got to the last page.
The way this story started had me liking the hero and heroine from the moment they come face-to-face for the first time, as it's palpable Trent wants Addy, but whether she'll give him a chance or not is debatable. Since already she's been too hurt in her past by both friends and family and taking a chance on Trent could end up hurting her even more if things don't work out. How long does it take Trent to win her over? Furthermore, the main characters are delightful and I love every interaction between them, as Trent is determined to prove to Addy that he's changed for the better. He's no longer the playboy he once was, but still as confident and charming as ever. I also liked how protective the hero is of Addy, as she goes through a lot in this story including what happens to her father and everything someone is determined to do to her. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was the tight bond he shares with his family, and how they treat Addy like she's family too.
While the heroine, she's been through tough times and I could understand why she doesn't trust easily. Her mother and her ex-best friend are real pieces of work and I liked how she stood up for herself when it came to everything she faced when it came to the two women that have made life unbearable for her at times. Really, she's resilient and courageous and I liked how she handled everything she goes through in this story. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine was that she gave the hero a chance, as he proves to her that he'll be there for her always.
Overall, Ms. Sanders has delivered an utterly fantastic read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was instantaneous the moment they met and just kept getting stronger as the story progressed; the romance was hot and had me hoping for the best for this couple; and the ending had me cheering for what the heroine did when it came to her mother and then how things work out for the best between her and Trent. Really, nothing can top what Trent does towards the end. What a way to take the spotlight off his brother for a short time. I would recommend Never Let Go by Jill Sanders, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope, the opposites attract trope, or books by authors Bella Andre, Erin Nicholas, Melanie Shawn and Jamie Beck.
This is book 2 of this series by Jill Sanders. I read the first one also and I'm glad I did. Although this could probably be read as a stand alone, I think reading them in order is going to make things a lot easier to understand in this series.
In Never Let Go, the McGowan brother that is the main character is Trent. When a girl he went to school with shows back up in Haven working as an activist and protesting his company, he's thrown for a loop. Addy (supposedly) was never on his radar back then, but he was certainly on hers. Even though they are apparently on opposite sides, he starts working to convince her that he's not a bad guy. When someone starts targeting her, he is right by her side. Will he ever get her to see him as anything other than the playboy type he was in his past and accept his family, his business and him?
Addy has issues in coming back. Her relationship with the townspeople and her own parents leave a lot to be desired. She can be really tough when she needs to be, and she may have to be to survive this homecoming. She's passionate about her work...and just maybe Trent, too.
There are definitely cliffhangers in this book that will lead us to the next one. Nothing is neatly tied up. If that bugs you, you'll have problems with this book. It just makes me anxious for the third in the series!

Triggers: violence and suicide
This story has it all, intrigue, love, family dysfunction, and a happy ending.
Trent has adored Addy from afar since childhood. Not knowing how to approach the nerdy girl, he watched her grow up and leave their little town. Now that she's back, Trent isn't going to miss his opportunity to show Addy his true feelings.
Addy left Haven to find peace within herself. Leaving her family wasn't hard as it is for most kids going away to college, she found it freeing. Her parents weren't exactly loving or encouraging, and she longed for a place to just be herself and she found it being anywhere but in her hometown.
As a peaceful protester fighting for environmental causes, she's back in Haven, determined to keep the McGowan brothers on the straight and narrow. What she doesn't expect is to have Trent McGowan flirting with her and being her shoulder to lean on.
I enjoyed this book and the way the characters were written. Emotional scenes are extremely well written and bring the reader into the scene with the characters, something that is hard to do and Ms. Sanders did it very well.

I really enjoy the writing of Jill Sanders. I thought this story was sweet, heartfelt and had some real “ah ha” moments… at least for me.
This is the second in the series and while each books romance can be a stand alone there is a background story that continues throughout the series.
I thought the characters were very real. They feel what a normal person would in the exact situation(s). I have enjoyed both books so far and look forward to #3. I think any fan of the romance with a bit of suspense would enjoy it too.

I received a copy of Never Let Go by Jill Sanders thru Net Galley for an honest review. Never Let Go is,book 2 in Jill Sanders' Haven, Montana series. After moving back home, the last thing Abby Collins wants or needs is complications. Abby is an environmental activist concerned with the environment and the impact to it due to oil mining. However, one of the "complications" is Trent McGowan, and she cannot stop thinking about. Trent McGowan is now one of the heads of the company and making sure that Abby knows that she can trust him.eith future direction of the McGowan's and her heart. Never Let Go is romance mixed with thrills, did not see that coming, and the togetherness of the McGowan family is great recipe for a fantastic read. I truly, truly enjoyed reading this book and cannot wait for the next Haven, Montana book. Thank you Jill Sanders for another great book. Oh who knows when we (the reader) find out who making a mess of destroying things? A few theories of my own, and wonder if I will right or not.
I am really liking this series. This book left me with questions that I am sure will be answered in Trey's story. Addy came back to town and was not happy about it. She doesn't have a good relationship with her parents and then Trent keeps paying attention to her. She knows he and his brothers are players. Trent dated all the girls in town but her and she isn't about to get involved with him now. Trent had left Addy alone because she is so much better than he is. She deserves better. Addy is trying to find out what his family is up to and Trent is trying to find out what Addy's group are up to so they are spending quite a bit of time together. Someone blows up her car and slashes her tire and her ex-best friend tells her that Addy's father is the father of her baby. It is all too much. She is going to have to make some decisions. Trent is hoping she will stay.
Whether you are new to this author and/or this series, you will come to love them both.
This time the story centers around the McGowan brother, Trent, and Addy Collins.
Trent and his brothers have returned home after the passing of their beloved father, and have made a successful oil business, even better.
Addy, an environmentalist, and native of Haven, MT, has come back to protest any possible damage the McGowan company might be doing to the environment.
Personally, she has known Trent , at least from afar, most of her life. The crush she had on him was never divulged, especially since she was not in his “inner circle”. But now , he sees her, for what she is , what she does and not only her outside beauty but also her inside one.
The plot is engaging, with many sub-plots, and the characters are complex. You will find suspense, vandalism, and of course romance. You will also get a chance to visit with some of the characters from book 1 in the series.
All that said, what I liked most in the story, was the author’s presentation of the complexities of families. Not only the interaction between them but also how one’s upbringing, will affect not only the child but also the adult they become.
At the end , some questions were left unsolved, but by no means it’s a cliffhanger. Ms Sanders gives us a conclusion you will be happy with, though the road to happiness was a bumpy one.
I was gifted this copy by Netgalley. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Exciting, romantic, heart-warming, and frustrating. Didn't think about this book as being part of a series. I want all the various situations, problems, etc. wrapped up neatly at the end. Yes, it does have a wonderful ending to the story. It is the loose ends that I know are suppose to make me want to read the next one in the series and I do, but I wanted to keep reading until everything came to a successful conclusion now. I did skip over the intimate details.
I could not make myself finish this book. Some characters are likable (Addy, Trent and his family), some are so flat (it took me some time to distinguish between Taylor and Tray). But what I couldn't get over were the thin plot.and all the references to the first volume of the series. The second volume feels like a new chapter, instead of creating new characters, the author recycles them, even the ones who should stay away for good. And the plot... the moment Trent is interrogated and tells the police that Rea was with him in the office though we've just read Kristen was the one who gave Addy the documents used to set her car on fire... I put down the book!
Addy Collins grew up in Haven, but her family life was never a happy one. Her mother was cold and almost cruel to the point that Addy thought she had been a mistake. Her father wasn't any better and neither of them showed her any love. At her first opportunity she left home and was working for FREE, environmental activists who were currently in Haven to find out what the McGowan family were up to. It was clearly something big as there was a lot of secrecy about their latest project. Being an old school friend of Trent McGowan might have helped get her more information for FREE and spending time with one of the most handsome men in Haven was an added bonus.
Trent McGowan was very pleased to see Addy back in town, that girl had always fascinated him. She was very intelligent and strong willed, but also beautiful and he really wanted to get to know her better.
As ever with Jill's books, a good few twists and turns in the plot, a few good strong characters, all mixed in with Some drama that will keep you guessing who is behind the bad things that happen. Great story that could be read as a standalone book.
