This is a quick but sexy novella. Because of the length, I think, I never really formed a connection with Lucy, the heroine, though I definitely felt that she and Yuri had a connection. I felt like we got a good sense of Yuri, how he's spent a good part of his life trying to make the best out of a bunch of bad situations, and why he's latched on to Lucy. I liked the little bit we got of Lucy, and I admired that she was committed to her career choices (DJ and yoga teacher), even though everyone else, including her idiot night club owner and drug addict brother, wanted her to get a "real job." The sex scenes were definitely quite steamy, but I had some issues with consent. Part of the way Yuri protects her is by spanking her (non-consensual) and then making the other mobsters think he's raping her (which she agrees to), but I think, for the most part, it's handled well.

The plot for about the first half of the story was fine, with Yuri managing to protect Lucy as well as possible from the other mobsters, but during the last half there were several events that seriously strained the bounds of credulity, which unfortunately took me out of the story. I think the stakes were set a bit too high for this short of a story and it would have worked a lot better if there had been more time to develop the characters and plot.

Overall, most of the flaws can be attributed to the length of the story, but as long as you can suspend disbelief for a while, the rest is quite fun and sexy. I'll definitely search out a longer work by Ms. Rose.

Wow, what a story! I loved reading this book! This was a short but steamy mafia romance.
This is the first book I've read of author Renee Rose and it wont be the last! Can't wait to read more by her!

Yuri now works for the FBI but has been working undercover for the past three years as Don Diego's enforcer. He's been working undercover for soo long he is starting to feel like he really is the mafia enforcer that he is pretending to be. They have been trying to bring the mob down and catch the head guy. On this assignment he is ordered to kidnap Lucy, a DJ and sister to one of the Night Club owners, in order to get her brother to pay the money he owes. 
Yuri knows he is more than an enforcer. He is a man in love with his captive. I wish this one was a bit longer so that there could have been more character development but it works as a steamy novella.

This was a pretty quick, easy mobster type romance.

I love Renee Rose! She always knows how to make it quick, sweet, and hot. The Russian was no exception - fast-paced, intriguing, with a cute ending, I'm sure any Renee Rose fan will enjoy!

The Russian is a deliciously naughty mix of good and bad. A mafia enforcer, Yuri, is a bad guy but he's also a good guy. He is undercover for the FBI. All it takes is one smiling woman and he's off his game.

Willing to risk everything but her...Yuri is in trouble.

The Russian has some deliciously naughty bondage scenes. Look forward to an alpha with a Russian accent and a woman who never knew how much...she likes.

I just wish it had more. I want more story, more naughty, and more Yuri.

I’m not accustom to reading books of this genre, so this is a very new experience for me, but I found it to be enjoyable and simple. The plot wasn’t solid, there were holes spread throughout but for those who enjoy the BDSM community, or just enjoy reading of it, I believe this is a good read.

A quick and hot novella of a tough Russian undercover cop, Yuri, and hot and sexy Lucya. Not a bad story, but not a great one either. The deleted sex scene at the end should have been left in the story. A little bit of spanking and bondage included. Would recommend, but not my favorite.
