This was not for me, I really struggled with this one. I couldn't relate at all to the characters.
Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher, I am voluntarily providing my honest review.
Former dance student Sara is struggling with her past. But Tom Wright gets into her heart and manages to open it.
A Great steamy romance book that will leave you breathless. Everything the names says is true about the story. Great characters that will make you fall in love with their storyline.
It's been over a month since I read this book, I really do need to get my act together when it comes to writing reviews. As much as I loved it and my rating won't change, I'm having a hard time remembering everything that happened in it. But that's mostly due to the fact I'm a fast reader and should pay more attention to everything.
Olivia Boothe has a wonderful and colorful way with words which made it such a quick and easy read. She has developed characters that are complex and seeing their love story unfold was such a joy. I could really feel everything the characters were feeling.
Sara has always dreamt of becoming a dancer, but due to a horrific accident, she abandoned her dreams and now tortures herself working at a dance studio. But when she meets Tom and is instantly attracted to him, her love for dance seems to grow as well. The book follows their journey of acceptance and growth.
As a lover of Step Up and other dance movies, I'd so love to see this made into one. It definitely has enough of raunchiness and intrigue in it, as well as many strong characters. Can't wait for the other books in the series!
Hmm.. seems like this is Olivia's first book, and I'm kinda impressed. Well-written, and I liked the writing style. Although this book didn't totally blow me away, it was still impressive.
Two very different people, brought together by the need to love and feel loved again, both surpassing loss and overcoming addictions. It was fast-paced, without feeling rushed; it took you on such a journey that you felt yourself right there watching Sara and Toms relationship develop.
Looking forward to reading more from this author!

I would recommend this book to anyone
I was approved for this book on @netgalley so a major thanks to them for helping me find a new favorite author 😍

Sara gave up on her dreams of being a professional dancer and on love a long time ago, until she (literally) bumped into Tom. From the moment they met they were captivated by each other. Will her past get in the way? Will HIS past get in the way? You’re going to have to read this book to find out!

I LOVED this story. A) I grew up dancing so it called me to with that part of the story. B) it’s relatable in that you suffer from loss/heartbreak and maybe don’t know how to begin and and trust again. I’m DYING for book 2. D Y I N G. Waiting for it to come out will be pure torture.
Tom and Sara were love at first sight. They both brought major baggage to the relationship but what good book couple doesn’t. The chemistry between Sara and Tom and the codependent mix of friends made this a fun read. I read this book in a few hours and couldn’t stop until the end. I will Definitely be looking for book 2!
Sara and Tom were each haunted by their past making it difficult for them to move forward. I enjoyed reading this book, however, I could not get captivated by it. I felt the characters left much to be desired and that the story could have been better developed over time rather than the several weeks span it is. The ending did not leave me hoping for a sequel. In fact, I believe there should have been more added to the story to show character growth within Tom.
The story line itself was intriguing, I just wish it was executed in a way that left me wanting more.
I received a copy of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review. The opinions expressed above are solely those of my own.
I just found this so predictable and the characters were silly.
Although it was ok as a story I would not rush to read it again.
Wicked dance, well written with relateable characters. Ended quite abruptly and left me needing to know more! Hoping that there’s a next book so I can know what happened with Sara and Tom!
I really enjoyed this book. The book just ended I was wondering if this is a multi-part.
I believe this is a debut novel by this author with more to come in this series -- at least I hope so because I honestly did not like the way this book ended. It's not really a cliffhanger but it ends so abruptly. And it wasn't that I was hoping for more because the book is quite long -- almost too long for my liking and the reason I say that is because there was so much up and down with these characters. I understand conflict is part of most storylines, but I'm obviously in the minority here when I say enough is enough and mainly because I really didn't like Sara's character in several chapters of this book. Tom was such a kind, sweet and sexy man and couldn't have been sweeter to Sara and many times she snapped at him and just treated him so poorly, not to mention her relationship with her so-called bestie, Jen -- I hope I don't treat my BFF's the way Sara treated Jen at times! It was an okay read for me -- I loved Tom's character and hope that he gets treated much better in future books in this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
It was a good romance. Sometimes Sara could be a little annoying though. It was a believable story.
Sara had so much loss in her life and was hesitant to move forward with her life. After a tragic accident her life changed forever. So much heart break but that all changes when she meets Tom. She was struck with his presence paralyzing her in place. Having a thought was inconceivable when this magnificent man stood before her. He will do anything to persuade her to take those first tentative steps to achieving the dreams she pushed aside.
This one was just o.k. for me. I'm a romance freak, especially with the right amount of conflict. However, I struggled relating to the characters and the situation.
I received an arc from Netgalley. This book has well developed characters and a storyline that you won’t want to stop reading.
Sara and Tom have a beautiful story but not one without heartache, pain, and forgiveness. Right from the beginning of this book I was ensnared by the characters. I knew after beginning the secrets were going to produce an explosion within the story and they definitely did that.
The jealousy angle was necessary and definitely pulled at the heartstrings. The ending was kind of a cliffhanger though. I was expecting Tiff to try to come between them yet again with a story or picture. Still a great read and I enjoyed it immensely. 5 stars
Wicked Dance is wicked indeed. It's hot, it's layered and it's utterly addicting to read.
Sara is a former dance student unhappy with her job and unhappy with her life, when she meets Tom at their local coffee shop. He captures her interest from their very first meeting, but she's left with the feeling that she wasn't even a blip on his radar. Until one day he comes to her rescue and a relationship is formed.
I like that both these characters have layers, have inner demons they're trying to fight. Sometimes they drove me crazy, with the push and pull, but they were interesting for all their damage. And their chemistry? HOT! So why 4 stars and not 5? The ending was abrupt and left me unsatisfied. It left me wanting more, though, so if was intentionally abrupt to make me want more, then it was effective. If more isn't coming, then perhaps it was just bad writing. I'm hopeful more is coming, though, because Sara and Tom certainly deserve a more satisfying ending to their story.
When I started Wicked Dance, at first I thought I was reading the script of Save The Last Dance. Because there Sara also loses her mother in a car accident, while she was supposed to go to Juilliard.
But where the Sara from the movies falls in love with a guy from 'the hood', Sara Hart falls in love head over heels with the mysterious guy at the coffee shop. This turns out to be Tom, a very wealthy hot guy, who doesn't do relationships.
But when those two meet, the worlds just shifts on its axis. Both Sara and Tom are unexpectedly attracted to each other. And frankly: it just scares the hell out of them. We see through both their eyes how they struggle with this new turn in live. While both have secrets and both are damaged in the past, we see how they act like to magnets: pulling together and pushing each other away when coming too close.
It is a wonderful story, full of unexpected twists and turns. An emotional rollercoaster for both them and you (keep your tissues ready...). And while I sometimes just wanted to smack them on the head, for acting so stupid, you just fall in love with them.
A great read, four out of five stars from me. And a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.
