Great idea for a book and really well executed. A thoroughly good read. Highly recommended. .
Cute, but not really a standout. Of course fans of the show will like it, but so will fans of Monster High.
Unfortunately, this book was not a good match for me, and I will decline to review. I hope plenty of other readers find it more compatible, and thank you for the opportunity to review!
This book was a little kiddie but also a litle refreshing. The comic had a series of mini stories but they seemed to at least go in order. There were a couple of things that left me really confused such as who her real parents were and why she was living somewhere different. How did they let her in so easily? I feel this comic would be great for a teen/young adult. It was fun to read however I wouldn't reccomend this comic to an adult.
Thanks to NetGalley and Papercutz Graphic Novels for allowing a sneak peak into this book in exchange for an honest review.
Learning that your grandmother is Cinderella...what a magical day for Rose! These stories, with answers to her fairy-tale dreams stand out as ones that girls will truly enjoy. Don't worry, though, there are villains and other fairy-tale grandchildren for the boys to enjoy, as well. All of the students at Regal Academy are vying for the good grades and positive attention that grandparents are famous for (among other things).
When Rose finds a key whilst shoe shopping before her first day of school, she never imagines she'll end up in the presence of fairytale royalty and not in a normal school. However, she has to keep it secret back home that she's Cinderella's grand daughter!
A colourful creation of a graphic novel book as the characters and surroundings leap off the pages as they pop with colourful hair, clothes and buildings. Anyone who's a fan of Disney and fairy tales will enjoy this book with many little stories in the graphic novel.
Many thanks to the publishers for allowing me to review this book for them!
It's a fun read for young girls. The characters were engaging though simple.
This coming of age story about friendship is relatable to any high school student who has needed help finding their true personality as they grow up. It’s easy to get caught up with what friends like or don’t like, but eventually we all have to find our true self and be brave enough to share it with others.
Received a free arc for an honest review!
This art is pretty, but the story does not get to me that it used to... It is sort of botched together and I dont't really see the general line. It is very well published tho, the artist(s) ha(s)(ve) done a great job!

I haven’t seen the series on Nickelodeon, so I am coming to this as a newbie.
The story is a high school for the children or grandchildren of famous fairy tale characters. We are introduced to Rose who has a thing for shoes and literally falls though the rabbit hole. She discovers her relationship to Cinderella and is introduced to new friends, including a young woman who likes creepy crawlies but can also turn into a frog. There is a male Snow White too.
In many ways, the story is a mash up of Harry Potter ideas and a show like Disney’s Descendants. The fairy tale kids learn how to use magic, including pumpkin magic, and there is even some dragon riding.
While the mean girl and crew trope is used here, the story is largely about friends working together to succeed. Additionally, while the female characters are stereotypical drawn (in some cases without enough room for a stomach), there is no emphasis on looks. While Rose’s parents don’t look old enough to be her parents, her grandmother at least has wrinkles.
The stories are engaging, and the female characters do not need saving. In fact, it’s fun to read stories where female leads are feminine, friends, and not simply guys with boobs.
There are some nice cute nods to other versions – including a wonderful mouse character, Rose’s intense desire for shoes, and Rapunzel’s hair.
I had never heard of the series before getting this book on Netgally. I love fairy tales, so I figured this would be a fun read. For the most part, it was. I fully can see why some people would like it.
There were a lot of confusing parts. Half of the book was missing pictures, so I wasn't able to tell what was going on or who was talking.
Rose was likeable, but seemed to become overpowered too fast.
I'm tired of the mean girl trope. Can't we have a story where there is no girl hate? It is getting old.
Something a little different on here for a change. A comic from a cartoon. Many, many years ago I watched Winx Club. While that is still going strong I have stepped away from that. But I saw Regal Academy fly by on Nickelodeon once and knew instantly this was by the same creators as Winx Club. I did not have a chance to really follow the cartoon but when I saw the comic on Netgalley I knew I had to give it a go.
Regal Academy is a school for fairytale characters and currently the generation of grandchildren from fairytale characters are attending the academy. Some of the well known fairytale characters work at the academy. It is certainly an interesting set up where our characters all clearly have their own personalities and don’t seem to be carbon copies of their grandparents. There are also some lesser known fairy tales like Wolf and the seven billy goats which I could appreciate.
However this comic banks on the readers having watched the show I feel. The comic is separated into 4 shorter stories and there is no overarching plot besides it being the same characters and at Regal Academy. While the setting is interesting there is just too little to grab at the reader to want to pick up the next volume or to even feel like wanting to watch the show. There is not enough deepening of characters and the jumps between the stories and the magic use were too big. There are things touched upon but not continued on that make me wonder if these are just small summaries of episodes of the tv show.
The art itself is solid and colorful. Very eye catching.
Similar style and feel to Winx Club (dude same creators!) but with fairy-tale characters/motifs. An honest attempt to being unique from other fairy-tale series like Everafter High and it was interesting to add in more "uncommon" fairy-tales like the "Wolf and the Seven Billygoats" but abit on the cliche side with the main antagonist being the wicked witch.
I received this book from Netgalley in exchange of an honest review!
So I have never seen/heard about this series until I saw the book on Netgalley. I was instantly curious about it. Fairy tales? A school full of them? Sign me up!
This was a fun volume, though I am a bit confused about several things. For instance we find out that Rose is Cinderella's granddaughter, but wouldn't that mean that either mom or dad is Cinderella's child? Why do they not know about the whole Fairyland thing? Or is it some magic thing, and is Rose just magically the granddaughter?
And time is also a bit wobbly, as Rose goes from being starter at magic (just about to make pumpkins) in the first story to making helicopters (out of pumpkins of course) in the span of just 3 stories. I feel that this could have been much better. Shown her practising and getting better, but I guess they just focused on more exciting stories for this book.
I loved Rose from the start, though really, how can this girl get late ALL the TIME. :P I liked how she loves shoes and how she gets distracted by them all the time (like a true Cinderella). She also seems pretty smart and is really caring. Though she does get her group in trouble at times because she is such a klutz and doesn't seem to care about grades as much as they do. But she is also optimistic and I quite liked how she never lets anything daunt her. She just keeps on going.
I also like the other characters we meet in this story. Hopefully there will be more additions to the cast, there are so many more fairy tales that can pop up.
I am a bit tired of the mean girls trope. It gets tiring to have it in so many novels/books/tv stuff. Then again, I guess it does fit (though I admit this grudgingly) with the whole fairy tale setting.
I had a bit of a laugh at the silly magic (Tower Magic, Pumpkin Magic).
The book is also not one big story, instead it is various short stories with a day (schoolday) of Rose and her classmates. I quite like that they picked this approach, as it made it more fun to read.
The art is pretty cute (and that is also why I picked this book).
All in all, I enjoyed this book, and I guess I will look around to see if I can find the series anywhere so I can watch it. See if it is as good as this book.

4 stars.
This was excellent!! I absolutely LOVE the tv show so when I noticed this was available to read I had to grab it! It was so much fun to read and the graphics were so so good and the colours were AMAZING!!! I loved everything about this and as it's the first graphic novel in the series, we get the opportunity to discover how the story/show begins. I was not disappointed with this at all and only wished it was longer but at 98 pages it was still pretty good. There are 4 short stories in this and they are all just as good as each other. This definitely works as a graphic novel and I can't wait to read the others in the future.
Fans of the show, this is a MUST READ!
