Nicole Flockton never lets me down! While Abigail Owens is a new name to me, I will certainly be sure to check out her novels, and anything she co-writes. WHITE KNIGHT was a phenomenal twist on a classic fairy tale as well as the epic legends of the Knights of the Round Table.

This was a great read. I felt it really sucked me into the story line, and kept me intrigued throughout the novel. It was a quick read, that had enough description regarding characters, plot, and conflict to really keep the reader interested. I enjoyed the messed up chemistry that happened between Sasha and Derek in the beginning, and enjoyed watching their story develop into a much deeper love story that a typical romance story. I feel readers who enjoy retellings of fairy tales, legends, etc. will enjoy WHITE KNIGHT since it revolves around two largely known stories across many cultures.

Definitely looking forward to Nicole's next novel, and can't wait to see if we will get more of Sasha and Derek, or another fairy tale/legend twisty story.

Most are either going to love this book or not..... I enjoyed the characters, the way they combined fairy tales as well as weaving the plot though out the book. This is one of a different type of read. I was sincerely not expecting it! From the first to the last page you will be captured by the authors and their imagination as they sweep you away into their world of fantasy and make believe. Their writing is really superb. I will be looking for more from these authors. I was given this book in return for an honest review via NetGalley. My opinion is my own and done voluntarily. Regards, Anna Swedenmom

White Knight is a magical beginning to a new Camelot Rising series. It is full of strong, fascinating characters that reach and grab readers’ attention and holds them hostage until the very end.

Sasha and Derek are star crossed soul mates that’s relationship is way past due and their chemistry is off the charts electrifying. They draw readers into this magical story with rocky romance that is in no way clear cut and keeps readers in suspense until the very end.

The plot is fast paced and keeps suspense building throughout with twists and turns that ensures readers are kept guessing and the magical elements add spice and a sense of wonder to the story.

The authors has a created a fascinating world that combines elements of the King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table legend and fairy tale elements along with unique elements that make the story charming and appealing. I will admit that at first, I wasn’t so sure about this book, but it quickly ensnared me and I had to know how the story played out and I can’t wait to find out what happens next in the Camelot Rising series.

Catching a jewel thief should be an easy task for security expert Derek Arthur, but not even all the military training in the world could prepare him for Sasha White; a woman that there is more to than meets the eye. However, when things begin to get more dangerous for the pair and powerful secrets come to light, will Derek and Sasha be able to trust each other in order to come out the other side on top, or will they lose their shot at happy ever after?

What a wonderfully-crafted, fast-paced, extremely-engaging read these two superb authors have delivered in this book where fairy-tales and magic are brought to life through the author's words; the main and secondary characters were fantastic and had me reading quickly, determined to discover whether this couple will get their happy ever after, considering the tough obstacles they face; and the dialogue was captivating and had me enjoying this couple's back stories and growing relationship.

As for the way this story started, it had me hooked, as the heroine is lucky to have the hero be her knight in shining armor, otherwise who knows what could have happened to her. Furthermore, both the main characters were relatable, likeable and had me enjoying everything they go through on their journey to happy ever after. Really, the heroine is resilient and courageous in her pursuit of the Immortality Stone and I liked that she put her trust in the hero, even though he could very easily ruin everything she's worked so hard to achieve because she can't continue to live the lonely and endless life she's been living. I also liked how much of a challenge the heroine provided the hero, which is proven by her ability not to break under Derek's scrutiny. While the hero, he's good at what he does and I liked how protective he was of the heroine once he learns why she's after the stone. I also liked how he handles everything he learns when it comes to who he really is. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero was his determination to win the heroine over and prove that he is someone she could trust.

Overall, Ms. Owen and Ms. Flockton have delivered a really good read in this book where the chemistry between this couple was intense; the romance nicely-detailed and showed how right these two are for each other; and the ending had me worried for the main characters because of what happens, but had me loving that everything works out for the best for the pair. I would recommend White Knight by Nicole Flockton and Abigail Owen, if you enjoy paranormal romance, second chance romances, or books by authors Juliette Cross, NJ Walters, Eve Langlais and Christine Warren.

I really enjoyed this book. I’ve read Ms. Flockton before but Ms. Owens is a new author to me. The authors suck you in from the first page and don’t release you until the end of the book. This book was a combination of folklore, fairytales and actual events. Derek and Sasha have instant chemistry, thankfully it wasn’t a instan-love connection. Their guarded relationship keeps the readers entranced. The authors beautifully create a plot with so many twists and turns that keep the readers in suspense throughout the whole book. I will definitely be reading more from this author duo.

Publisher's Description:

Modern-day King Arthur meets Snow White for a surprising happily ever after in this magical mash-up of legends and fairy tales.

The victim of an ancient curse, Sasha White has wandered the world alone for centuries. The only way out of this endless, lonely cycle is to break the fabled Immortality Stone, which she’s finally located. Infiltrating Chevalier Jewels as an expert diamond cutter, she’s determined to steal the stone from her employers—the same seven men her wizard father was once sworn to shield.

Security expert Derek Arthur has gone undercover in order to catch a jewel thief for his latest, and greatest, client. But all his military training didn’t prepare him to deal with Sasha, the woman Chevalier Jewels assigned as his boss to complete the disguise. The need she ignites within him catches him off guard. Meanwhile, his own powerful secrets are attracting mysterious visions and dangers at every turn.

Can an immortal jewel thief and the man hunting her down find trust a way to trust? Or will the evil that separated them long ago continue to deny them their true destiny?

My Thoughts:
This book seems to be a mixed up combination of legends and fairytales. I read it because it was offered to me by invitation. However this book is just not my cup of tea. I did finish it but would not buy it.
I would rate this book 3.0 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and give it a hot sensual rating of 4.5 of 5.0 flames.
In this readers opinion the sexual scenes are about the only thing that made sense in this whole book.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this title by invitation through NetGalley to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this book which I read and reviewed voluntarily.

Have I mentioned how much I love retellings? Though I don't know if this completely fits that mix, it is a little more complex in the best kind of ways. It is a combination of legends, fairy tales, and classic stories all jumbled into one really intriguing premise. I was really hooked the second I read the synopsis.

Diving right in, some of the things I really enjoyed from the start? The characters hands down. Derek is beyond delicious. I adored his personality. I felt his outward persona was a struggle between being a chivalrous gentlemen while enforcing his dominant alpha male. Not in an caveman way, but in a sexy protective way. I was hooked on him. As for Sasha, I couldn't help but connect with her. She was a great female lead; driven, didn't put up with bullshit and had a game face the entire time.

Because their personalities had this type of depth, I think they created a really great chemistry where both wanting to step up for dominance yet leaned on one another. Their connection was strong from the start, there was definitely an insta-connection but not insta-love, which played out beautifully. Their romantic build was driven throughout the majority of the novel, learning to trust each other while still being guarded. Both having a goal to do, yet not realizing they were meant to do it together. The sexual attraction and electricity they had definitely brought them together but it was so natural. The authors took the time to explore and grow their romantic feelings instead of jumping straight in. Really enjoyed the build.

Whew.. and can I say when the relationship was steam-filled with the most delicious sensual feels - it was a damn good connection.

However there is just a slight pet peeve I have, which is ultimately kept me from raising the rating. During the beginning it took a little push to really get invested. At the jump there is so much going on around the world building that I was left slightly confused. I will say as the novel continues to develop the plot set up, some of these confusing plot holes lead into more better explanations. For me personally it just took away a little of the premise until everything finally unfolded. This also leads me to the ending. That climax was flipping brilliant and then nothing - it all stops. There is just a wide opening for more, so I am really hoping this is a series. The main conflict isn't resolved and it is bothering me not to know.

Overall, I really enjoyed White Knight. For my first Flockton and Owen books, I am really impressed with their collaboration novel. I will definitely have to keep a watchful eye on their releases, I would really like to see more from them on my TBR. The writing style flowed decently together, the characters were the right amount of chemistry build leaving me wanting more of their story. I definitely want more of Derek and Sasha in my life.

I received a copy of White Knight by Nicole Flockton; Abigail Owen from the publisher via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

I was intrigued by the summary and really wanted to like this novel, but the storyline could have been pulled together better and the characters developed more (less flat). It was a struggle to continue reading several times.

I would try and read another book by the author in the future to see if the pacing of plot development and characterization improves, but would not recommend this book. I rate it 2 of 5 stars.

What I LOVE about this book:
- The idea of combining different fairytale characters and stories into one and how they are weaved in. It poses for an interesting read. I loved the idea of the Knights becoming the Dwarves!
- Both author's styles flow seamlessly and you don't notice it's one or the other
- Both Derek and Sasha are great characters, with depth and layers in their personalities.
- It's not an insta-love relation: they are attracted to each other, but they take time to explore that and it seems natural when they actually fall for each other.

What could have been better:
- At the beginning, there are some references to things that happened that seemed confusing, giving the feeling that there is a book you should have read but didn't. It's clarified through the book later, but it makes the first part a little confusing.
- The end is abrupt and it leaves a lot in the open. I'm not sure if they plan to continue with more books (I hope they do!) but the main conflict with Morgan is not resolved and a lot of the other components are either.

I look forward to see what else comes for Derek and Sasha!
