I have thoroughly enjoyed this series by Katee Robert. I loved this book - Dmitri is quite possibly my favorite hero of the series, and I loved Keira's bluster. Unfortunately I am unable to post a review of this book on my blog at this time. I am excited to read more by Katee Robert and this publishing imprint. Thank you so much for the opportunity.

In previous books, I wasn’t a huge fan of Dmitri (which was probably the point). But when Katee started posting teasers of Dmitri and Keira’s book in her reader group, I couldn’t help but get excited at the idea of reading it. And of course, she delivered an amazing book yet again. It dances along the line between dark and light (in that “the way he loves her makes me squidgy” kind of way)

Quietly explosive…

Oh, the knocks just keep coming even as this complicated, family-centric series comes to an end. While I couldn’t wait for Keira and Dmitri’s story I also knew that meant the O’Malleys’ family saga was ending. Bittersweet but the journey was worth it…

“They all left, whether it was to walk away or leave in a body bag.”

I expected Keira and Dmitri’s story to be crazy busy and it really was. Keira and Dmitri finally, finally, got the chance to act on the wicked chemistry that burned so long (and secretively) between them. Their chance at love came under a trial by fire that changed both of them.

“I might want her, but that changes nothing. I’m still completely in control of the situation.”

Shocking to some, Dmitri did have a softer side. Loyalty, love, family. They meant as much to him as it did to Keira and her siblings.

“She was still a character in someone else’s play, required to dance to the tune not of her making.”

Keira, on the other hand, had struggled to find her voice, to take charge of her own life. And man, did she ever…

This was the perfect sign off to a series full of heart and havoc and unforgettable characters. Only read this story/series if you are a fan (like me) of mafia, romance or just great story telling!

Fantastic finale to the O'Malleys series! I've been keen on Dmitri getting a book from when he was first introduced and when it became clear that his love interest would be Keira O'Malley I knew it would be quite a ride to get to their happy ending, but one definitely worth taking!

Keira is a mess at the start of the story, addicted to drugs and alcohol to take away the pain of her brother Devlin's death which started off the 6 book series. Watching her come to grips with her addiction and fight to stay clean after being given a chance (due to Dmitri's admittedly high handed ways) was heartbreaking, but worth it for her (and the reader) as she takes her place as Dmitri's full partner by the end of the story. It's a marriage of convenience and lust from the start, but morphs into something more when Keira realizes how much Dmitri actually cares about her and her well being despite his efforts to remain emotionally distant (which don't last long). Dmitri is still a bad guy of course, a mafia kingpin who doesn't hesitate to bring down his enemies but one who has grown a conscience when it comes to protecting Keira and making sure she's happy - which means not pissing her off by tangling too much with her family and their allies. They make a great power couple, and they have a lot of hot sex while cementing their relationship.

As it's the last in the series, there are cameo appearances from almost all of the major players in the previous stories. It's a series best read in order as some of the events of previous books lead to the climactic finale of this one. Action, suspense, sex and romance - it's a thrill ride from start to finish. I highly recommend this story, and the series as a whole and it'll make a great binge read in the future!

Loved this book. It's the first I've read from this author. I've added her to my Amazon following and look forward to see what she brings next.

A perfect, fitting end to this dark, gritty, passionate series! Katee Robert can write the hell out of a mafia family - and there's multiple ones in this series.

Keira obviously has had a lot of pain in her life. And if you've read the previous books in the series, you know what I'm talking about so I won't go into it. No matter what, she is a injured person who consoles herself with drugs and alcohol. However, she wants to help broker peace between the families so she agrees to go with Dmitri when he approaches her.

Dmitri was promised one O'Malley bride and he will get him an O'Malley bride. He's intrigued by Keira so he determines she will be the one. He sees past Keira's defenses to the woman underneath.

A fantastic ending to this amazing series!

4 1/2 STARS!

Explosively satisfying! We've been waiting for Dmitri's story for so long, and it does not disappoint! From the very start of the series, we've been seeing mention of the evil Russian who was a thorn in the O'Malley family's side throughout all of their business dealings. He's been trying to get a foot in their door for a long time, and was going to be a constant threat until he got his way. Keira puts the family first and thrusts herself into his lair, but it doesn't take her long to discover that there's more to this Russian than she ever thought. Their journey is touching, as well as exciting. Great read!

Keira O'Malley will do anything to keep her family safe ... even make a deal with the devil! She might be the youngest of the O'Malley siblings, but she's been touched by the crime and trauma of their lifestyle just as much if not more as each of her siblings. She finally checked out of life a couple of years ago when one loss took her breath and her foundation away. Now if she has to marry Mr. Evil himself in the form of Dmitri Romanov, so be it ... at least her siblings will have peace!

Russian Dmitri Romanov has been trying to get an "in" with the O'Malley family for years now, but keeps being foiled. When he set his sights on Keira, it became personal because she is unlike any previous conquest. She's gotten underneath his skin without even trying to. He can see the broken soul that lives beneath the iron will and heated barbs she throws his way on a constant basis. It might still be all about business, but having this firecracker as his wife is going to be a delight if it's the last thing he does!

I am thrilled with how this story played out and loved every second. It's a complicated world full of so many different dynamics and layers, I could not get enough. I loved Dmitri and Keira! They had an intense and volatile relationship and as soon as I picked it up, I was gone to this world the author has created.

Since first meeting Dmitri Romanov, I have wanted his story. This gruff villain that you want to hate but he does these small, endearing things that have you rooting for him. His story did not disappoint. He was so complex and passionate. He was a fantastic anti-hero. Now Keira, she had some problems and I was not her biggest fan in the beginning. Seeing her work through her issues, let down her guard, and really grow into this amazing force was awesome. By the end, I was her biggest fan!

Together Dmitri and Keira were crazy awesome, like fire and ice. There's a lot of tension and simmering passion between them and I could feel that push and pull. I loved their verbal sparring, some snarky, some sweet, but the more they come together the more playful it gets and it made them really entertaining together. I loved those special moments between them. And the passion? Holy heck this sucker was hot. It was like a building pent up energy between them. All that want and need made for some really heated scenes.

The storyline was fantastic and I loved all the drama making this a serious page turner. There's an excellent cast of characters as well from previous stories so you get a glimpse of everyone in the series. This is completely standalone so you won't be lost while reading but I highly suggest reading in order just because you see this awesome build in Dmitri over the course of the entire series.

I love this world that Katee Robert has created in The O’Malleys series. It's full, detailed, and intense. Each book has had me hooked every time but this one, hands down, is my absolute favorite. A must read!

Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this title. Unfortunately, I was not able to finish this book which means I will not be able to review it. I truly appreciate the opportunity and apologize for the inconvenience the lack of review may cause you.

By way of explanation: I completely loved the first three books in this series, but by the time I got to the 4th and 5th books, I realized I was reading the exact same book with different lead characters.

YES!! YES!! YES!! YES!! Katee, you killed it with this one!!! Loved every damn word of this book.

Can I leave my review at that?? I mean seriously, this book was everything I expected and more.

I have been dying for Dmitri and Kiera's book for what seems like forever. Keira is the baby of the O'Malley's, the one they all protected. Dmitri has been the villain in this series since he was first introduced to us. But he was so much more than that.

Keira has been on this downward spiral since her one brother's death. She felt she had no value in life or to her family. She would pass the time by getting high and drunk all day long.

Dmitri has a complicated past which makes him walk this path of right and wrong, good and bad. But there was this connection with Keira that he could not fight. He wanted Keira as his own, but where she saw it as a possession, he saw it as a woman he couldn't bear to be without.

I loved watching this whole marriage grow as the story moved forward. The push and pull between these two was strong. It may have taken them awhile to truly see they were made for one another, but it was damn intense watching it all play out. Katee always gives us the tension filled romance that ties into the family drama and suspense perfectly. It's like a twisted maze where everything is intertwined and lines up perfectly in the end.

Katee does a phenomenal job of developing her characters and keeping them all true to themselves and not changing based on others that come into their lives. In this book, Keira does grow and become the woman that Dmitri has always known her to be, but she herself never truly changes, she becomes a better version. And for that, I am truly thankfully that Katee stays true to her characters.

This series has been one hell of an amazing ride. I have loved just about every single book that is about each sibling but the main storyline that plays on throughout each book is just amazing. I know it's said that each book can be read as a standalone and they can be, but I highly recommend starting from the beginning to get the true feel of this family and each of their stories.

Katee, thank you for writing a series that I found myself getting deeper and deeper into with each book. Thank you for writing characters that were deep and intriguing. This is one series that will stay with me forever.

I knew this would be the best one of the series! I loved it! Kiera and Dmitri were awesome together. The push and pull between them made the story!

I hate to see this series end but Dmitri and Keira's book was everything I wanted it to be and more.

Keira and Dmitri's book was the one I had been expected for so long and I had very high expectations. Dmitri was the man I knew he was and dare I say it, even kinder and loveable. Keira spent too much time being the kid no one wants to play with. Dmitri knew she could be a queen and he was forcing her to become one which helped the case because she was taking so much time to become the person who we knew she could be. And when she became the queen she was glorious. I wish I had seen her like this more instead of watching her acting like a kid. I know that she tried to do the best for herself and not be Dmitri's pawn, but I already knew that she was going to end up with him and I wanted them to spend more quality time together. This is what bothered me. I wanted to see more of the queen, not the addict. The book was a little slow at first, but later it picked up and I liked it.

The book was good. I was hooked and I kept frantically reading. It was worth the time and the effort and while I cannot say that it was my favorite in the series it was still good. I expected something more from the last book in a series I have loved for so long, but I was satisfied with what I got.

Katee Robert has ended The O'Malley's on a high note. The Bastard's Bargain made for a fantastic wrap up to the series.

Dmitri had intrigued me since we first met him and I couldn't wait to find out what was behind the ruthless, cold facade he presented to his enemies and allies.
Kiera being the youngest and only O'Malley girl has been shielded and locked away for too long, losing herself to the drugs and booze she consumed, so when she finds herself suddenly married to the Russian who's been watching, monitoring and kinda stalking her she's at a complete loss...

I loved the burn between this pair. The attraction and interest never waned, even though Kiera slowed things right down and did what she could to delay the inevitable. Finding out just how much more there was to Dmitri made for interesting reading and seeing Kiera grow into her own skin - and the person Dima knew she could become was fab.

The relationship between our leading couple that continued to grow and evolve had me hooked and rooting for things I wasn't sure would ever see the light of day! With the usual alpha posturing between the family heads, unexpected betrayals, threats and drama, heat and passion TBB was an excellent read.

I'm gonna miss this series - which I know will be a definite re-read, because let's face it, it's that good!! - but I can't wait to see what's next from Katee!

So all I have left to say is that I FLOVED The Bastard's Bargain and I’d give it 6* if I could!

As soon as I spotted this, the final book in the series, was about to be published I just had to read it. This is the culmination of this enthralling story of the O’Malleys and the gangland mobsters they compete with for territory and power. It is a story of expectations, hidden agendas, murder, torture, death and romance. This story focusses on the youngest of the O’Malley siblings, twenty-one year old Keira who has never got over the murder of her beloved brother. She started drinking and taking drugs to numb the pain of his loss and lost herself in the process. When the only man who makes her feel again, the leader of an opposing group of mobsters, Dmitri Romanov, tells her to go away and marry him she agrees. The wedding is nothing like the one she’d dreamed of as a child, but there again Dmitri is nothing like the hero of her childhood dreams. Instead he is outwardly cold, manipulating and always ahead of the game . . . . until it comes to Keira.

This is a story of redemption, helping someone heal and move forward but it is also a story filled with deadly danger, threats and intrigue. Dmitri has been the ‘enemy’ to the O’Malleys for most of this series but he’s the only one who sees Keira and is determined to help her achieve her full potential rather than letting her drown her sorrows in an alcohol and drug induced haze. He proves to be a patient and caring husband, helping Keira become the person he knows she can be – his Queen. However, others are threatening them all and there’s a traitor in his home…. Can Keira and Dmitri work together? Can they build on their mutual attraction to find love or will an enemy thwart them all?

This is another fast paced, hot and steamy, romantic suspense that I didn’t want to put down until I’d finished it – a brilliant finale to a superb series. It has great characters who readers of earlier books in this series will have got to know well but I still think it could be read and thoroughly enjoyed as a standalone. I have no hesitation in highly recommending it – and all the earlier books, too!

I requested and received a copy of this novel via NetGalley. This is my honest review after choosing to read it.

Katee Robert is definitely a favourite author of mine and I have been a huge fan of the O'Malleys series for so long. Dmitri and Keira have always been my favourite characters to read about in this series ,so when I got the chance to read The Bastards Bargain I literally devoured this book because OMG it was so so good ! I can honestly say The Bastard Bargain is my favourite book in this entire series . The romance in this book is not your traditional one , it at points had a very hate / lust / love type of feel but as we get to see there love story unravel you see its so much deeper than that, the romance was tumultuous, fiery and swoonworthy and I know that sounds like an odd combination but it works. The romance is not the only thing that will have you glued to this book , everything that happens with O'Malley family and with Dmitri 's enemies will have you at the edge of your seat, holding on through every twist and turned. I loved this story and Iam so sad to this series is coming to an end but excited to see what Katee Roberts will be writing next . If you are wondering if you should pick up this book as soon as you can the anwser is yes !!! The Bastards Bargain is an amazing read .

Having read the latter half of the O’Malleys series, I really need to go back and read the first three books. Jumping into the series in book four was all well and good, but as I’ve continued to read the books I’ve realised I would have had even more enjoyment if I’d started with book one. Forbidden Promises was wonderful as a standalone novel, but there were a few references that left me wanting to know more. Undercover Attractive did not work as well as a standalone novel, in fact it relied rather heavily upon prior events, but I had fun. The Bastard’s Bargain is best enjoyed if you have knowledge of the series – you do not need to know it all, as I do not, but you do need to understand how events ended in Undercover Attraction.

Despite how I have only read the latter half of the series, I was excited for the final book in the series. In the two books I have read, we’ve been given glimpses into the romance brewing between the two main characters in this book. It is something that has been building for quite some time, waiting for the events to come together. Add in the fact the series is being brought to an end, and you go in expecting big things.

Did this book deliver the necessary big things for a series finale? Mostly.

The book was a lot of fun, sucking you in very quickly. There are plenty of things playing out throughout this one, many things come together, and almost every page keeps you sucked in. There were a couple of points where my interest waned slightly, but for the majority of the book I was sucked in.

Mainly, it was the romance. It was on fire. The relationship between the two was amazing. I loved watching how things grew throughout the book, loved the chemistry between the two, and enjoyed all of their interactions. I really enjoyed our couple in Forbidden Promises, but I think I enjoyed our couple in this one even more. They were wonderful together, and I’m sure those who have been watching the romance build between them will adore how their story played out.

However, I had expected a wee bit more in terms of action. This was the final book in the series, and I expected lots of big events in relation to the crime element of the series. This book focuses a lot more on the romance, meaning I was somewhat let down by the action side of things. It felt to me as though it was always hovering in the background, and when it did take centre stage it was all very anticlimactic. I wanted huge scenes, but everything was over much too quick. When compared to how hard the romance scenes hit, the action seemed rather dull.

Overall, though, this was another great O’Malley book. Well worth the read for fans of the series.

I’ve enjoyed every Katee Robert book I’ve read. I’ve especially enjoyed The O’Malleys Series. Through the last couple books we’ve watched this relationship between Kiera and Dmitri develop. Both have acted like it was all a business deal to bring two dominate mob families together but it’s been obvious there was more to it for both of them.

Poor Kiera, with the artist’s soul, has been effected the most be the many wars the O’Malleys have been forced into. The grief over loss of a beloved brother has plunged her into numerous self-destructive ways - drugs, alcohol, anonymous sex.

At some level she realizes that Dmitri sees her and understands and that’s why she doesn’t really fight their marriage.

It’s not long until their having scorching hot sex but it takes a while to build their relationship. When they do, it’s so worth it (for Kiera and the reader!). It’s very satisfying to watch them falling in love so deeply and even more so to watch Kiera become the queen Dmitri knows she can be.

Robert is a master at exploring ambiguities like a caring and loving man who’s also a ruthless crime lord. Her characters are complex and their stories reflect the constant struggle of determining what’s right and wrong and where one’s personal boundaries lie.

The book can be read alone but I highly recommend the entire series.

Keira O'Malley will do anything to protect her family, even if it means marrying Dimitri Romanov. Yet, she never expected to come to love the cold and domineering man whose enemies will do anything to see his empire fall. However, there's more to Keira than just a pretty face, and when the danger to their lives closes in, the pair will have to learn to trust each other. Will Keira and Dimitri come out on top, or will they lose their shot at happy ever after?

I am sad to see this series come to an end, but what an ending it was. Really, it was thrilling, absolutely enthralling and a story that was unputdownable due to the incredible main characters that I loved from the very beginning because Keira is a challenge for Dimitri; dialogue that was the perfect combination of intense moments and splendid banter that had me glad Dimitri did the one thing he swore he wouldn't -- fall in love; and the fast-paced plot had me loving the obstacles these two faced on their journey to happy ever after such as Dimitri winning the defiant Keira over and whether they'd come out on top against the hero's enemies. Will Dimitri be able to keep Keira safe?

As for the main characters, Keira is resilient, courageous and goes through a lot in this story, as she battles her demons. Suffering the loss of a loved one is never easy, and it's understandable why she does everything to numb the pain. Yet, I liked that Dimitri helped her past it with what he does because she can't continue the way she has been. I also liked how much of a challenge the heroine was for the hero. No way will she play the submissive wife and arm candy that he needs whenever he needs. Yet, what I liked most of all about the heroine is how she finally stood up to her family when it came to what she wanted, so they'd stop thinking she needed to be protected. All she wants is peace between the criminal families, because she's already lost someone important to her and doesn't want to lose anyone else.

While the hero, he's formidable, confident, ruthless, protective and I liked how determined he was to win Keira over. Certainly, she doesn't make things easy, but I liked that he didn't give up on her. I also liked how he would do anything to protect those under his employ and how he handled everything his enemies threw at him including the moment where they threatened Keira. Yet, what I liked most of all about the hero is how he handled Keira's family, because the heroine is important to him and Dimitri is determined to make her family understand that there is no way he'll ever let her go.

Overall, Ms. Robert has delivered a must read in this book as well as in this series where the O'Malley family fall one by one in love; the chemistry between Dimitri and Keira was potent and extremely convincing; the romance was steamy and did justice to this couple's wonderful chemistry; and the ending had me on the edge-of-my-seat and worried for one of the main characters, but left me completely satisfied for how things worked out for this hero and heroine because Keira needs Dimitri just as much as he needs her. I would recommend The Bastard's Bargain by Katee Robert, if you enjoy the enemy to lovers trope or books by authors Kat Martin, Katie Ruggle, Rebecca Zanetti and Katie Reus.
