Best Beach Ever is a perfect book to start my summer. I want to go stay with Nikki, Kyra, and the rest of the wonderful women. I want the beach sunsets with the women toasting their lives, the listening to the trials of their days, and to find the happiness they find with each other and in their lives together.
There are many sub-stories that come together to tell the story of the Ten Beach Road ladies. Anyone who reads should find at least one character they connect with. There is great diversity in the characters. Nikki is an older mom of twins who is overwhelmed with life but wanting to prove that she can handle it all. Kyra is dealing with life as a single mom and an ex who is expecting more than she feels she can give. Avery is afraid to commit to the man she loves. Bitsy is a person who is looking for revenge on her ex-husband. With each character, there was something I could relate to and could feel what they were feeling in life.
This is a series. The book can be read without reading the rest of the book in the series but I think the reader will miss some of the most special, important moments of the book if they don’t know the history of the characters. The back stories are important to know why they are how they are now and what they truly need out to be happy.
The ladies of Ten Beach Road are back for another book and it doesn’t disappoint. Maddie, Nikki, and Avery are moving into cottages at the Sunshine Hotel, a new location for them, as they begin to pursue new dreams. Each of the five women are dealing with their own problems, but always remember the good things. I loved that they got together to watch the sunsets and took turns saying something good about their days. I really related to Nikki in this story. She’s the sister who wants to and tries to do it all, and doesn’t ever want to admit that she can’t do it all. Each of the character’s storyline was vastly different, but I loved how they each concluded. This is the sixth book in the Ten Beach Road series, which I didn’t realize when I began the book. Nevertheless, I was able to follow it pretty well and enjoyed it! I’m sure I would have enjoyed it even more had I read the previous five 😉
Back when we first met the ladies of the Ten Beach Road series by Wendy Wax, they were a mess. Madeleine, Nikki, and Avery lost everything they had to a Ponzi scheme, thanks to none other than Nikki’s own brother. They were left only with Bella Flora, a Florida coast mansion in dire need of repair. Their renovations were filmed by Madeleine’s daughter, Kyra, and by the end of the book, the ladies had themselves a home makeover show.
In Best Beach Ever, the last book in the series, the ladies have come a long way. They’ve accepted that Do Over is, well, over. Maddie has put her failed marriage behind her and is dating a rock star, Nikki is married to the FBI special agent that busted her brother and is the mother of twin girls, and Avery has started a tiny home construction business. Kyra has agreed to let her 4 year old son, Dustin, act in a movie with his famous father, against her better judgment. And socialite Bitsy, who joined the cast in the last book, is chomping at the bit to track down her husband and get her fortune back.
I enjoyed Best Beach Ever more than I have the more recent books. The ladies all finally find some happiness, and there’s even a bit of the renovation that has been missing from the later books, as Avery builds a tiny home for a client. Of course they all have their struggles – Maddie is torn between her role as Will’s girlfriend while he tours and as Kyra’s mother when she needs her, trying to figure out her place in the world. Nikki can’t figure out how to manage the Mary Poppins-like nanny who has taken over raising her children. Avery, perhaps in the most annoying of the sub-plots, just can’t get herself to commit to Chase. And Kyra is also torn, as she finally sees Daniel’s true colors, while also dealing with her feelings for the mystery tenant who has moved into Bella Flora.
I found this a fitting end to the series and while I will miss the ladies of Ten Beach Road, it’s also time to let them go.
I would recommend reading the other books in the series before reading this one. I read it without having read the rest of them and while it was still a really enjoyable read I think it would have been easier for me to get into if I knew more of the background info. It was still a fun read though. I loved the relationships the woman had formed and how supportive they were of each other. There is a wide variety of characters, each with their own quirks and problems. I found that I liked each of them and it was easy to connect with them. If you like women’s fiction and are looking for a fun beach read this is worth checking out. Start with the first book though!
I could have sworn that I read part of the "Ten Beach Road" series before this book. However, when I checked it out, I had not. Apparently, these characters are so well written that I felt comfortable with them right away which just gave me the impression I had spent time with them before.
There is lots going on in this book which focuses on a group of five friends who have lots of problems that they help each other with and through. There are a lot of obstacles along the way which include a Hollywood leading man, a lying, thieving husband and a rehabilitated aging rock star who's making a comeback.
I loved the evenings when they get together to watch the sunset and take turns saying something good about their day. I think that's a great idea and hope to include at least the saying something good part in my future days.
I enjoyed spending time with these characters and wish that I had started with book one in the series. Not because this could not be read as a standalone, but because I would have liked to have been with them during earlier times and issues that were mentioned in this book. It is definitely a series that is going on my TBR list.

4 Good Thing Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟
Loved the ”good things” toasts in this book... we all need a group of women in our lives that will toast the good things we have going on🥂
This is the perfect book to read when sitting at the beach or wishing that you were... featuring a cast of strong women who really were there for one another.... this is the fifth book in the series, however it can be read as a standalone... although I was not lost I probably would have appreciated some of the backstory on some of these characters... but that’s because these characters were so colorful I wanted to know them better....
There was a lot going on in this book but a couple storylines really stood out to me.... Nikki was probably the character I found most relatable, just trying to do it all, and not wanting to admit that she couldn’t... I completely got her, if somebody had suggested to me I needed help with my kids, I would have reacted the same exact way.... then we have the biggest mess of the book Kyra... that was a confounding situation, not sure why one woman much less two would want that Daniel.... I was rooting for Troy the entire time! Not only was he a great guy, but he also shares a name with my youngest son...
Loved how all the storylines in this book concluded, it was all very satisfying... I would also absolutely read the next book in this series, and I’d go back and read the previous books if I had the time.... this book left me with a smile on my face and craving the beach, cheese doodles, and egg soufflé...
Strongly recommend to people who enjoy a book filled with friendship, family, drama, and food....
*** thank you so much to the publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this fabulous book ***
If you are a fan of this series, I think you will enjoy this. If you are looking for a beach read, I would recommend this series. The variety of the characters in these stories means there is someone for all readers. The ages vary from a young 20-something to a 60-something and each woman is at a different part of their lives. It is fun to see how their lives continue and change, while at the same time they still have each other.
My first introduction to this series, I loved Wendy Wax’s ability to create nuanced characters with relationships that felt plausible and possible, and she’s managed to carry that into this story, making the women compelling, intriguing and most of all, people you want to know. As the sixth in the series, I did expect that some of the background events may play into finding the friendships and progression difficult, but Wax gives just enough background to the characters, along with their own fully realized characters to bring an understanding and curiosity about earlier titles, not just holes where ‘something should have been’. Complex, confused and curiously empathetic, even when they weren’t always ‘at their best, the relationships between the women, all at different stages in their lives with their own particular hurdles to overcome show just how affirming and necessary friendships and acceptance are to them all, and how the security of being in that group helps to shore up their own personal courage and face their fears.
From losing baby weight and being a good mum, to allowing forgiveness, struggling with direction and purpose to recouping losses and more, the ladies share concerns, struggles, solutions and laughs in this fun, fast-paced but surprisingly complex read. My only questions came with trying to see just how far each character had come from their early friendships – but fortunately I can catch up by reading the earlier titles in this series. I’m sure readers familiar with this series have this in their beach bag, I’ll have all 6 as I think this is the perfect series to take on that summer vacation to truly escape it all – and revel in friendships and support that everyone seems to need.
I received an eArc copy of the title from the publisher via NetGalley for purpose of honest review. I was not compensated for this review: all conclusions are my own responsibility.

Thank you to NetGalley.com for the opportunity to read an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
#6 in the series (are we counting the novella?) and I still look forward to these books. I probably relate most to Maddie but Avery is my favorite. I think its because every time I read these books I get an insane craving for the Laura Scudder’s puffy cheese things of my childhood in the royal blue bag (and no, Puffy Cheetohs will not do). It was wonderful to see Bitsy grow as a person and to see Nicole realize that motherhood doesn’t always come natural and those who may not be the best mothers while their offspring are young, may hit their strides in the turbulent teen years instead.
What I loved: Finally – things are moving for these ladies! I felt that books 4, 5 ,and the Novella were just treading water but there are actual plot closures in the book. Yippee!!! And then there are like 6 more potential plots that could lead to books 7-10 but if the series ended with 6 – I would have the closure I always like to have with books.
What I didn’t love: I wish Maddie would let the ladies be a little sarcastic, angry and even mean when stating their good things. Not every good thing has to be unicorn farts with sparkly rainbows with birds chirping everythwhere. Sometimes the good thing is the little sliver of silver in that dark, nasty raincloud that’s been following you everywhere.
What I learned: Can I get a Luvie for my 18 year old?
Overall Grade: B

Best Beach Ever is the 6th book in the Ten Beach Road series. I highly recommending the series in order but you could still enjoy this novel if you haven’t.
When we left the ladies of Ten Beach Road in the last installment they were facing financial ruin, heartbreak, and huge life-changing events. They pick up at that point in Best Beach Ever. At this point in the series none of the women are reluctant to share when they feel someone needs to hear their advice – that’s what good friends do, right? From the beginning they supported each other and worked to achieve their common goals and they continue to do so in this novel. I enjoy how Wendy Wax shows strong women working together and learning to pick themselves up when they stumble. You can accomplish a great deal when you have the support of good friends.
Best Beach Ever was an enjoyable read and left me hoping for more in the series. Not all threads were wrapped up at the end so perhaps there will be another book.
My Review of “Best Beach Ever” by Wendy Wax Berkely Publishing Group Publishing Date: May 22, 2018
Author Wendy Wax , “Best Beach Ever” has written an enjoyable, heartwarming, emotional and captivating novel. The Genres for this novel are Fiction and Women’s Fiction. The timeline of this story is mostly in the present only going back a few years when it pertains to the characters or events in the story. There are other books in this series by Wendy Wax, but this can be read as a stand-alone.
The author describes her colorful cast of characters as complex, complicated and confused. Most are likable, and many are very close friends and relatives. Each of the main characters seems to have a decision to make, and at times set-backs before they can move forward. Kyra and the other characters are forced to rent out their beloved Bella Flora, in order to keep it. Maddie, Nikki, Avery, and Bitsy move into the cottages at the Sunshine Hotel and Beach Club , not certain of the future.
Each of the characters has their own set of problems . I appreciate the way the author shows the importance of emotional support of family, friends, and neighbors. I would like to thank NetGalley for a copy of this ARC for my honest review. I would recommend this book to readers of Women’s Fiction. Happy Reading!

Another fun read in the Ten Beach Road series! I've read the first one and the fourth one, and missing a few in between didn't negatively impact my enjoyment of this book. I would like to go back and read the ones I missed though! However, I definitely recommend at least reading the first one in the series before reading this one! I love the characters in this series and found myself particularly interested in Kyra's character in this book. It's easy to get wrapped up in this book and keep turning the pages because the book jumps between characters so often. I read this book during a weekend at the beach and it was the perfect book for it! Add this to your vacation book bag!
Best Beach Ever by Wendy Wax was a fun read. Ms. Wax's characters were we're developed and were very "real". I found them reminiscent of Fern Michaels' Sisterhood characters. This group of friends were very close and shared their lives with each other successes and failures. Great storyline. The gulf coast Florida beach sounded like heaven and I wished I had been there as well. This was my first Wendy Wax book but will definitely not be my last. Would recommend this book to those who like chick lit.
So great to be back with these women and catch up on their lives. Kyra has agreed to Dustin being in the movie and we go to the set where things become very interesting. Unexpected love and a surprise tenant at Bella Flora. An inside look at how hard twin toddlers can be and a final decision from Avery all combine to a delightful story. Still want more but this was wonderful.
Best Beach Ever was a delightful conclusion to the Ten Beach Road series. This is Book #6 in the series and I strongly recommend that at least some of the previous books be read prior to reading this one, especially Book #1 - Ten Beach Road. This series tells the struggle several women must endure and how their friendship brings each of them through to their very own happily-ever-after. The core of this friendship circle is Maddie, who seems to help each one focus on the positives in their lives. Their favorite way to do that is to gather at sunset each evening with a glass of wine, or a pitcher of margarita's, a few snacks, including Cheez Doodles, and each one toasting to one good thing that happened to them that day.
I don't want to give away any spoilers here, but we see the return of someone who irritated Kyra in a previous book. We also see another side of Daniel and of Tonja.
Wendy Wax gave us some memorable, delightful characters. I'm looking forward to more from this author.
If you are looking for surprise, strength, determination and love, this is such a wonderful series! When I first read this series I started out with #4 and kept reading things I had missed, so after doing a little research, found a complete series and (yes, finished #4 only to read it again in order). You will fall in love with these women and their trials, their lives, their families, it is just an AWESOME series, you have to read from the first one, and I guarantee you will want all of them one right after the other. Set in Florida, losing everything they had to a Ponzi scheme, these women, who had never met work hard to get back a life they once had, I cannot tell you any spoilers, but this will really touch your heart.
This is a story about friends that have undergone some very rough waters. It shows how important friendship is and how your girlfriends are always there for you. Great chic read.
Love this series! The author keeps the storylines moving and the Florida settings are accurate as can be.
The women of 10 Beach Road are back and I couldn't be happier! Reading the book is catching up with old friends. You are rooting for them to succeed in all they do- love, family and careers - and want to be toasting the sunset on the beach with them. Nicki is struggling to lose the baby weight and be super Mom to her twins while Joe is traveling for work. Avery is afraid to let her heart trust the love she feels for Chase after her hurt her. Bitsy is still looking to find her husband and get some of her money back. Maddie is going to go on tour with Will but she feels at loose ends with nothing to do all day. And Kyra has agreed to let Dustin be in his father Daniel's movie but is afraid she may regret it. At the heart it is a story of strong women finding their way through life and love with the support of their friends. Perfect read for a long weekend or vacation.
