Nailed Cora Brent

I received an ARC of this via @netgalley and Montlake Romance. This is the second book in @corabrentauthor’s Worked Up series following on from the story of MC Jason’s best friend Dominic in ‘Fired’.

Nailed follows two main characters Audrey and Jason.

Audrey is the narrator throughout and is a very down to earth character. She has a troubled past and is trying hard to turn around what she perceives everyone thinks of her into something more positive.

I thought I knew where this story was going to go, the pattern it was going to follow however I was pleasantly surprised with the twists in the plot and how it ended.

I didn’t read Fired before Nailed and while the characters are linked these two can be read as a series or standalone. Cora is a new to us author and I would definitely reach for more of her books in the future.

Nailed by Cora Brent was an absolutely unputdownable read right from the very beginning.

If you are a follower of my blog, you know that I am a huge fan of workplace romances, as well as enemies to lovers. Nailed combined both of these romance tropes flawlessly.

Audrey and Jason are two characters who will leave you thinking about their story long after you have finished reading it. This is mostly because of the spark inducing connection they have, but also because their stories are ones that may be relatable to people in the real world. I loved that neither of them had it easy. Yes, they both had people in their corner to help them along, but they both worked like crazy to get where they are in life.

To top things off, I was so thrilled to see a female character, Audrey in a profession where you don't necessarily see that many female individuals. For me, this made the novel all the more intriguing and thrilling.

I highly recommend this novel to everyone. The writing style is flawless, and goes far beyond a typical enemies to lovers story. Audrey and Jason have the perfect blend of angst, tension and love.

4.5/5 Stars!

This was an ok read for me. It's an easy read and flows well, but for me the story just lacked a little depth and I didn't really connect to the relationship between Audrey and Jason.

Touching read which felt like more than just a love story though nothing is wrong with that (haha). The message of family and moving past the wounds of childhood produced a variety of emotions. I couldn’t help having feelings of anger and protectiveness at certain points in this read. These feelings were even more fueled by a characters’ acceptance of being treated poorly by those who should love them the most. Ugh that is the beauty of this author’s writing, by making me live the realness of her characters. Audrey and Jason were characters full of depth as we explored their beautiful imperfections and missteps showing the struggle in learning to forgive yourself. As the story unfolds topics explored include addiction, abuse, and loss, just to name a few. We see both characters dealing with family issues, work struggles, and an attraction that consumes. Love the tie-in to other characters/books by Ms. Brent though this story is an amazing stand-alone. Definitely add to your TBR. Happy Reading!

I have loved a lot of Cora’s books. The Gentry books are a long time favorite and I’m enjoying the new generations as well. And some of her standalone books have been stellar for me, too. This series I like, but it’s just not quite as Special or memorable for me for some reason. Absolutely nothing wrong with it and I like the characters and storylines, but I just don’t love them wholeheartedly. I think the first book had a bit more spark for me.

I'm a huge fan of Cora Brent's work, so I may be biased, but this is one of my favorites by her, second only to her Gentry series.

I was looking forward to this book after reading "Fired" and it did not dissapoint. Cora Brent's writing always seems to reel me in and I can't stop until the book is finished. The way that she brings the main characters together and their chemistry is always off the charts.

I really don’t think Cora could ever write a bad book. I read Nailed in one go! Although that’s how a Cora creation should be read. No breaks needed. It’s really hard to write a review without wanting to tell everything that happens. My only advice is, this is a must read. As is all of her other books.

When two former lovers are forced to team up on a work project there are bound to be problems and fireworks. We know how it will end, but Cora Brent makes it a delightful journey!

Nailed is a love/hate office romance. Audrey & Jason had a fling in the past that did not end well. Fast forward six years and they are paired together on the biggest project in their company’s history. The question becomes can they put their past aside and work together while fighting the huge attraction they have for the other. When they finally give in to the attraction their chemistry is off the charts hot. They both have issues form their past that leave them weary about relationships but different situations both personal & professional show them they are better together. This was a great read and part of an awesome series.

I really enjoyed this book. A sweet romance with some heartbreak needed for the characters to grow together..

Absolutely LOVED Nailed!! Cora Brent wrote such an entertaining story with fascinating characters that are real, vulnerable, & of course sexy.

I thought Audrey & Jason were an awesome couple & watching their journey to a HEA was the best I've read in a while.

Nailed is 2nd book in the Worked Up series but can be read as a stand alone.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Jason Roma thought there was no better woman for him than Audrey. He tried years to deny how she made him feel but he always kept circling back to her. Working with her was a constant give and take since she secretly referred to him as El Diablo. Audrey has struggled to realize that she cannot always do everything and tries to make up for the indiscretions of her past. Will she finally let Jason in and realize that he is the other half of her soul. Great story and when to realize life changes whether we want it to or not.

This was a great read! It was an emotional but funny at times and a slow burn read! It's Audrey and Jason book and the second book in this series. It's an enemies to lovers second chance story, Audrey receives a dream assignment managing one of the city's largest construction projects . She's trying to prove herself to her family and Jason is getting in the way of that! It's a slow burn and sweet, hot, emotional, second chance story that had me in tears at some parts and laughing at others! I definitely recommend this book! Thank you NetGalley and Montlake for sharing this book with me!!

I absolutely loved this book!
There is the sort of depth I have come to expect from Cora Brent throughout this book.
Nailed covers a lot of emotional ground but it never feels as though the situations are unrealistic or forced upon the narrative.
Audrey and Jason are a fantastic couple. They mature and grow together.
Totally sincere and believable story telling.
Cora hasn't neglected the hot and heavy aspects either.
Altogether, a triumphant romance novel.

Audrey and Jason work together in the same office, how ever they are not friends. When they get assigned together to handle they biggest project in the company's history she is not happy.
As the assignment moves on and she hits hurdles due to things beyond their control. Jason steps in and supports her something she is not used to. As time goes on she lets her guard down and the project moves in as well as the two of them.

This book started off awesome and never lost it. It was a quick read.

Nailed by Coar Brent is the second book in the Worked Up Series and can easily be read as a standalone. The previous book, Fired is Melanie and Dominic’s story.

Meet Audrey Gordon, she’s a careerdriven manager at a construction firm. She’s the best in the business, a workaholic, literally. When she gets assigned to the biggest project in the city, she’s forced to work with her nemesis. Jason Roma, aka ED El Diablo – is an ex fling, co worker and her biggest rival and regret. He gets under her skin and wants to stay there. He wants her back, bad.

Nailed is a wonderful read with everything I love in a good book. The story is unique, the writing is excellent and I connected with the main characters from page one. I love the strong heroine and the determined hero, the twists and turns and the honesty in the characters words.
I recommend this standalone workplace romance and give 5 wonderful stars.

Nailed is a very enjoyable enemies to lovers novel.

Audrey is a strong and focused career woman, and Jason is her arch rival and part time tormentor. I found both characters well written and well developed. Jason did seem like a bit of a jackass in the beginning but I never found him intolerable. I liked that both characters developed over the course of the book in believable ways. They went from being almost solely career focused to being more balanced. I also felt by the end of the book that they needed and complemented each other.

I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

Hmmmm, it wasn't bad but for some reason I was expecting something else. I liked Jason and yes it was immature sometime but I honestly could not understand what he saw in Audrey, she was not nice to him like at all. I understood that she had issues but dial the bitch in essence back some. I am glad that it ended with HEA but I won't be following the series.
