This was pretty good! I honestly lost a little interest in it a couple of chapters in (which isn't abnormal for me), but I came back to it a little bit later and got into it more. I liked it!
Raschid and Mila's story in this second of Sharif Sheikh's series. Characters that keep the reader interested and the pages turning . Looking forward to the last book.
Ebook from netgalley and publishers with thanks. Opinions are entirely my own.
A rather entertaining novel. It definitely has some low points, but overall the storyline is interesting and holds your attention.
Enjoyed this series. Great escapism and look forward to the next series
One feisty woman, one formidable playboy and an ultimatum to settle down or lose everything. Love this recipe for a quick, fun and entertaining read before bed. This romantic journey is filled with fiery passion, head strong personalities and lots of witty banter. loved every heart pounding twist and turn.
Rashid needed a quiet wife that would follow his every request to save him from a recent unsavory headline. Being guilty by association he had to follow in his brother’s foodsteps. Finding a bride was easy. Finding Mila was a stroke of genius. Quiet not so much. Is Rashid ready to get his world knocked off balance? Absolutely hilarious interactions between the characters that had me laughing long into the night.
That was such a quick read.
Last month I read Book 1 of this series and liked it, so of course I'd want to read this too. I must say, I love Mila and Rashid's story more than Liyah and Asad's. I find Mila so strong-willed but soft. I love it that though she was initially disapproving towards Rashid, she didn't hesitate to give him a chance when she saw the real him.
Rashid is sweet and responsible though no one seemed to see him that way. People around him, even his own family still see him as the easy-go-lucky Sheikh he once was. I like it that he didn't change because of Mila. He was already a changed man before Mila and that's make their story a little uncommon.
If you want a quick read but still have the passionate, steamy parts, this one would be a good choice.
4 Star Review of The Sheikh's Tamed Bride by Leslie North
ARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review
This book is the second in the Sharif Sheikhs Series & the only reason I have rated 4 stars is I wish it was longer !! Loved the story of Mila and Rashid !!! Rashid is the second of the Sharif brothers who has always been a bit of a playboy - no need to settle down until his reputation takes a serious hit & he decides that maybe taking a wife could really help his public image. Docile , obedient - Mila is none of these things in fact she doesn't even like Rashid seeing him for the spoiled - rich - playboy she thinks he is .... chance meeting and sparks fly .. loved these two together as well as their HEA !!! Great quick read !!!
Interesting storyline. Characters weak at times.. Not sure i liked the plotline. It is a book you would read when you want to pass the time.
Reformation of a Cad
Rashid plays fast and loose with his reputation, preferring the life of a man apart. For someone who'd love to travel, Mils finds reasons to stay put. But there's a heart underneath this tale of two underdogs that elevates this story beyond average.
Karam and Arivo had been friends with Rashid for a long time but Rashad had pulled away when the family started to falter. Rashad had to pull away for business reasons and the other two man resented it. But one night early in the morning they woke Rashad out of a sound sleep and asked him to come pick them up. Lately instead of a friend Rashad felt like a babysitter. Rashad now had a lot of responsibilities and the two men didn’t seem to understand. Rashad told Karam he would come for them but this would be the last time. Up until two years ago Rashad had been just as much a partier and playboy. Now he just went to get his friends. When he got there he found his friends with two diplomats daughters and Rashad was angry he tried to get them all out if the hotel without being seen but it didn’t happen. Asad was in Rashad suite when he returned from dropping everyone off at their hotel or home. Asad never allowed Rashad what had really happened just figured the worst nd not that he had went to give his friends a ride home not knowing what they were up to. Asad told Rashad that their father was already working on damage control. Rashad had a head for business and wanted the whole world to know but he couldn’t even get his family to take him seriously. Then Asad told Rashad he was to take a wife and that might help the scandal blow over. Rashad said he wouldn’t do it but then Asad said their father would also agree that Rashad needed to marry then Rashad said he would marry but only as a business deal. Rashad had to find the most submissive and quiet woman in Dubai. Fatima was Mila’s boss at the lounge. Mila hadn’t come to Dubai to be a waitress. Mila loved working at the lounge but she wanted to travel not be tied down and she had told her father before he passed she would follow her dreams. Mila was an American but had a host mom named Sahaar and that was where she was staying now. After another bad night with Fatima Mila gave her two week notice. She then put in an application for a job at the resort attached to the sports arena Rashad owned. Rashad and h Amira his sister were there for the supposid interview. Instead Rashad offered a lot of money for a business marriage where they would be married in name only. Mila wouldn’t agree and left. After which Rashad decided to woo Mila After spending time with Rashad Mila knew there was something strong between her and Rashad. Fpr Rashad it began to be less and less about wanting Mila for a wife more about simply wanting Mila. Mila agrees to become Rashad wife.
Leslie North did it again another great novel involving a sheikh. This is a second book in a series I advise you to read so everything just flows correctly. I loved Mila and her refusal to be anyone but herself. I also love Rashad and Mina together. I felt like I was right there with Mila. I loved the characters and the ins and outs of this book and I highly recommend.
After Liyah's story in The Sheikh's Pretend Fiancée, I was of course curious about the story of Rashid, Asad's younger brother and Mila, Liyah's best friend. Mila is still working at the bar, where Liyah met Asad. However, since her boss Fatima thinks she is the reason that Fatima missed her change with Asad, she tries to make Mila's life a living hell. Therefore, Mila is determined to find another job.
Unknowingly she is applying for a job at the sport stadium where Rashid is the owner. Rashid has just ended up in the heart of another scandal, while trying to help two of his friends. And now his family demands that he settles down, just like his brother Asad. So, when he meets Mila at the job interview, he offers her the same as Asad did with Liyah: a marriage to a sheikh. Because he knows that his family will never agree with the outspoken Mila.
But Mila wants to have nothing to do with the playboy. Determined to stand on her own feet, she turns his offer down. Rashid, not used to not getting his way, tries to woo Mila into becoming his wife. Over time, however, Rashid realizes that he doesn't want to convince Mila as a score to settle with his family, but because he really likes Mila. But can he convince Mila that it's not one of his games?
Wonderful read, funny and heartwarming. Four out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc. And keep your eyes out for The Sheikh's Stubborn Assistant, part three of the Sharif brothers series.
This is part of a series so in this book we find out what happens to the remaining brother.
It's well written. Typical Leslie North, HEA. No cheating.
It was beautiful book that I didn’t expect the ending for it
Rashid and Mila make arrangement on marriage
I love everything
ARC - I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest!
Rashid like his brother Asad had a reputation of being a playboy.
That means that no one took him seriously enough.
To present a respectable front, Rashid decided to get married.
He would follow in his brother's footstep + hire a fake bride.
And the fake bride he chose is Mila. ( His sister-in-law's friend)
What a disaster!
Rashid thought that he could tame Mila + make her a demurred bride. As If.
If he wanted a demure bride, he picked the wrong girl.
However, Mila was getting under his skin.
Will they give this fake marriage a chance?
Loved the storytelling + the characters!
"The Sheikh's Tamed Bride" was just a fun read. Mila is a woman that holds her own with anyone. She is loyal, feisty, and a woman that knows her own mind. Rashid on the other hand, is a Sheikh and has been quite the playboy. When these two come together, the fun begins as Mila tames her Sheikh. The story is a standalone with the author packing a lot of punch and story in book 2 of 'The Sharif Sheikhs Series'. If you love romance and HEAs, then I would recommend this one for a great afternoon read. I would like to thank NetGalley and Relay Pub. for gifting me "The Sheikh's Tamed Bride". My opinion is my own. This is mine. 4 Stars!
I enjoyed this sheik story. Mila isn't the typical herione - she is feisty and outspoken and a great partner to Rashid. I'd love to read more of their story.
This was a good and easy book to read. Rashid was the playboy sheikh whose family had had enough and decided he should marry. now. Mila was who he set his site on for a couple reason. His brother was married to her friend and it would irritate him. Mila turned down his offer of marriage of convenience. They started to get to know each other and the rest is history. His parents weren't too pleased at first, but Mila made sure they knew she couldn't be pushed around. She defended Rashid to them and his mother started to like her. I got this book from NetGalley for an honest review. I can honestly say, I really liked it. I had read the previous book and look forward to any more by Leslie North.
A big thank you to NetGalley and Relay Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. I believe this is the 2nd book in a series, but it reads well as a stand alone book. Again pretty predictable but the characters are interesting. The sheikh's are over the top and need to learn to communicate. I gave this a 3.5. Most romance readers would enjoy.
I love this author her books are always a great read! This book has a great storyline it's not just one erotic scene to the next but there are a couple of those thrown in just to make things interesting. And of course it's set in some obscure middle eastern country This book starts with a guy helping out his friends and getting caught by the paparazzi and being forced or strongly recommended to find a wife so he goes after the one woman that he knows is unsuitable his sister in laws best friend. It's a wild ride that includes illegal sports betting courting a surprise dinner with the parents at the palace and don't forget we have to wait and see if we will hear those three little words and the question asked on bended knee. This book was great from the first page to the last it doesn't leave you wanting for anything and makes you want to keep reading until you finish.
