I loved 'Locked In'. It was a unique premise and a bit quirky which I loved. The story was really interesting and kept me turning pages. I hoped for more character development but the twists and turns made up for it. It was quite predictable but worth a read.

Ariadne (Ari) Teddington is not having a good day. She finds herself in the middle of a bank robbery and hostages are taken. She is one of them. Her biggest immediate problem is that she is a prison guard. Next to police, criminals hate prison guards the most.

Among the hostages is a child and a policeman and a robber who is barely holding it together.

While the robbers are issuing their demands, Ari is desperately trying to think of a way to get them all out before anyone is harmed ... or killed.

This is a rough and tumble story premise that kept this reader riveted to the fast action. Warning: Graphic Language. Some of the happenings could have been taken from news headlines. It's a drama that escalates until the final page with a brutal ending.

Although second in this series, this is easily read as a stand alone. I do, however, always recommend starting at the beginning for a fuller picture of all the characters involved.

This is the second book in the Locked trilogy, and not having read the first book this one still reads nicely. If there is any references to the first book's events, its minor and doesn't deflect from this thrilling read.

Thank you for the opportunity to read but I never really gelled with this book and ended up abandoning it. It wasn't that it was badly written, but I just couldn't care about the characters. It wouldn't put me off trying this author again.

Not her day. if they find out who she is it will get much worse. she needs to keep her head Down. with her is a child, a policeman. can she get these people out as well as herself? but they get locked in. what will ariadna do?
a fantastic read. lots of twist action just keeps me reading. Loved story and the characters. apart from the basis of course. 5*.

Locked In is the second book in The Locked Trilogy. Although this can be read as a stand-alone I personally would recommend ready the first book before reading this one.
The main character Ariadne, a prison officer, is having a very bad day when she is held hostage during a bank robbery. This book will have you hooked right from the start. With twists and turns to keep you interested right to the final page.
I am looking forward to seeing where the final book in the trilogy will take us.

This book promised suspense and drama and it more than delivered its promise.

The protagonist, Ariadne Teddington is held against her will as a bank heist hostage. Held with several other people, the race is on to try and survive. Ariadne is a prison guard and the tension surrounding whether the criminals guarding the bank know this is more than my beating heart can take!

It was an excellent read with fantastically written characters who revolve not just around the heist plot but several other character sub-plots which all tie together.

I haven’t read the first in the series and didn’t know the characters before picking up this book and I really didn’t find it a problems. You’re not on the back foot or miss any information or character development as a result. Highly recommend!

#LockedIn by GW Williams

I read this book as a stand-alone but have already bought the first one which is obviously a sign that I really like this book. There were no major problems with not having read the first one first except of course that I had to do a little more intense memory reading to keep track of the characters which by the way are interesting and well thought out. Ariadne Teddington is the major character. She is a correctional officer who founds herself in a bank doing daily activities when the bank gets robbed. Unfortunately some of the robbers have
dealt with her when they were locked up for difficult crimes and she only finds
this out by hearing them talking amongst them selves. She doesn’t recognize any of them but have a feeling about Mr Brown who somehow seems familiar. Most of the book takes place in the bank and about 60% in they finally get away. The little girl is so realistic that you just want to shake her and tell her to be quiet because she is responsible for much of the tension in the bank. It was a nice thought out story that kept me reading unfortunately into the late night. I would obviously recommend this book to anyone but I would still tell them to buy the first book first. Right now it is on sale for $0.99 so you can’t go wrong with the price. I received this book from #NetGalley in exchange for my unbiased review. Great book!

Unconvincing

This is book 2 of The Locked trilogy. Many sequels or number x in a series can be read and enjoyed as stand-alones. However, in this case, it is vital that the reader invests in the original and reads this book in its proper order as intended by the author. There is so much history (and baggage) carried forward from the first book that at times I felt rather like a boy at a new school who has joined in the third year – totally at sea.

However, I am clear that, even had I already read the first book in the trilogy, I would not have awarded the thriller more than 3 stars. I read non-fiction for education and fiction to escape. A truly first-class novel will draw me into a fresh, new world. There were too many times when this book pulled me up short and out of any reverie and was in fact plain annoying or frustrating. I have several issues which lead me to that conclusion and the author deserves an explanation.

On too many occasions to show that a character was interrupted by another, just half a word was used – it just didn’t work and there are much better ways to do it. Additionally, in places, the grammar was poor. I do so lament the death of the comma and semi-colon. I also had a problem in understanding which market the author was aiming at. She explains, presumably for the American market, the difference between a prison officer and prison warder and also makes reference to a town car. All this in a novel set in the UK. However, for me the most glaring error was to introduce the local Police and Crime Commissioner who then took charge of the ongoing police operation on the ground. For the sake of American readers, a PCC is responsible for appointing the Chief Constable and setting policy amongst many other things. His (or in this case “her”) responsibilities do not cover anything remotely to do with operations.

The plot revolves around a bank heist which goes wrong and results in the robbers taking hostages. It’s not a particularly original plot but the style of writing is good and it romps along at a very good rate with plenty of light and shade which retains the reader’s interest. Apart from my previous comments, the dialogue is believable and realistic but I found that I could not relate to any of the characters so felt very little when one was injured or adversely affected by the violence.

In short therefore, it’s a book for holiday reading when relaxing as it’s easy to put down and pick up again but do read the first in the series before considering this one.

I was already in awe of book one, so I couldn’t wait to read this book. I think it’s even better. I couldn’t put it down and basically ignored my life just to finish it!

Ok, so this is book two in a series and I haven't read book one. I hate doing that and it is normally something that I avoid but for some reason I read the blurb for this book and I just wanted to read it. And I'm very pleased that I did.

What followed was an unexpected thrilling read that hooked me right from the start and kept me right there until the very last page. It was a book that I stayed up late to read, it's a book that I thought about when I couldn't read it and it's a book that I made sure that I had more time in the day to read. I had to know what happened.

Ariadne was a great character, although not always that likeable she was engaging and incredibly feisty, she has to use everything that she's got when she finds herself caught up in a bank robbery. She finds herself getting the attention of the robbers when one of them recognises her from his time inside. That is not good for Ariadne. 

I don't feel for a moment that I missed out because I hadn't read book one, but I have now got the first book, Locked Up, on my kindle ready for me to read when I get the chance and I will most definitely be reading book three when it is released later in the year. 

This is a twisty and turny thrilling ride with some great characters and an original take on what could have been quite a run of the mill storyline. I really enjoyed reading this book and will most definitely recommend it to my friends.

Loved the idea of this book, it is so plausible and could happen to anyone , and how would we react? I wish I had read the first book and got to know the main character Ariadne I think that would have made a difference because I had to get into the book and get to know her and start to care about what happened to her and the others in that situation if I had read the first book I would have been routing for her straight away, but that is my fault, and I am always reading books in the wrong order.I thought this book was good and the pace was fine it had some interesting characters and kept my interest.No spoilers but worth a read and a bit different to other books I have read recently,and I like different. I like authors who are original and also a bit quirky.Thanks to the publishers and netgalley for the ARC.

Good strong crime thriller with a fast paced plot. This book jumped straight into a robbery at the bank and introduces the strong female lead from the first book in this trilogy.
Just like the first book Ariadne Teddington is a brilliant strong female character who finds herself in yet another drama, locked in a bank while its being robbed.
I enjoyed this book but felt the first book was showed a more vulnerable to teddington.
