A gorgeous little easy read set in lovely Paris!

This was exactly what I was looking for while I was actually travelling to Paris!

The descriptions of perfumes in this book are amazing, it left me wanting to be able to enjoy perfumes more. A well written story with lots of likeable characters.

I've never heard of a perfume competition but if that's what it takes to set the stage for a Rebecca Raisin novel, I'm all for it. Del arrived in Paris distressed because her twin, Jen, bailed on what she thought were their plans to open a shop in New York. Not to worry- there's plenty to occupy her, what with the competition and, wait for it....a romantic possibility in Sebastian. This breezy rom-com of sorts has a nice sense of France and a good plot line. Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC. Try this one for a cheery story of a fresh start. In Paris.

Wow what a truly delightful read, a real gem of a story, filled with romance, friendship, loss, new beginnings, hope, challenges, not to mention the enticing fragrances/perfumes that are mentioned throughout, all told in such a wonderful and heartfelt well.

The author Rebecca really does know how to tell a story and for it to come alive, right out of the pages. I loved every bit of it from beginning to end.

I've not been lucky enough to have had the chance to visit Paris yet, but having read this book, I now feel that I have been. The way in which the author Rebecca set the scenes and described all the different places within Paris,  is just felt so real and bought it all to life.

I loved the quote that was used within the story "Compose the perfect perfume and it will live on like a song, forever" . Such beautiful words, just perfect and very much like this book.

I feel like I have been waiting for this book to be released forever. Thankfully within minutes of delving into it, I can safely say it was worth the wait. I absolutely loved everything to do with this book and it is clear the author must love perfume, with the way it was described , the scents, and what sensations they can evoke in a person.

It is also the story of how you need to be brave to follow your dreams even if it means spending time apart from your twin sister. It is a story of regaining your confidence, of not stooping to your competitors levels of sabotage and instead being a decent human being, and it is a story of trusting your heart and instincts.

Oh and its set in Paris, and features a perfume competition of which Del is just one of the competitor. Del is instantly likeable, seems to have lost some confidence in her perfume making abilities, since her gran died a few years back, but has entered this competition as it brings with it fantastic career opportunities.

So long as she can make it past the earlier rounds and not be driven round the bend with here fellow competitors antics. Del is also just slightly clumsy, after all how else can you explain 3 accidents occurring throughout her first day in Paris that all just happen to have one other factor in common.

I loved not only the descriptions of the perfumes and the scents, which I wished I had a defined enough sense of smell to be able to full appreciate, but the descriptions of Paris. Both characters and locations from the other books in Rebecca Raisin's Little Paris Collection have a brief moment in the spotlight, although if you haven't read the other books it won't matter as this is a complete standalone, but with extra goodies for regular readers of the author.

There is also an excursion so Provence, to the home of Lavender and I could see it all so clearly, I thoroughly enjoyed this section of the book too with all of its descriptions, and the accompanying story with it too.

Humour, romance, Paris, french food (well some), a bouquet of scents to tickle your senses, rivalries and a lot of perfume, all combine to bring you one fabulous book. I just hope we don't have to wait as long for the next Rebecca Raisin book.

Thank you to Netgalley and HQ Digital for this copy which I have reviewed honestly and voluntarily.

I've really enjoyed all this series, and this was no exception, a very easy-reading story set around a perfume competition in Paris.

Del is from America and one of the contestants, along with a group of other people, all great personalities. I really loved Lex and Lila the best, and Clementine was an absolute nightmare!

Del is a twin and her and her sister, Jen, had planned on opening a perfume shop in New York, but plans change when Jen fell in love and it turned out she was only going along with the plan because of Del's passion for it. So Del's life path took a fork in the road and she ended up in the Leclere Parfumerie competition, the winner of whom got to stay in Paris longer, won a large amount of money, and got the chance to design a perfume range for them.

The first day there Del ran into Sebastian, the current owner of the company and son to the original owner who made the company what it is today. There was an attraction between them running throughout the book, but very low key and gentle.

A very happy, romantic feeling book with no major dramas, just a lovely story with some great descriptions of Paris and the wonders of perfume making, with some really interesting characters. Very enjoyable book.

Del's story took me right to the streets of Paris filled with a green eyed hunk, heady, intense atmosphere of French Perfume. I breezed through the story on a fluffy cloud of sensual perfume and potions, making this a beautiful read.

This book was much better than I expected. I think that it is something about having "Little" in the title that makes me expect a bit of light fluff. However, there was depth to the characters and a fully rounded storyline that made it a good read. I'm not sure that a perfumery competition would be like Masterchef but I was prepared to suspend belief on that. Good holiday / relaxing read.

This was a sweet novel, a bit reminiscent of Laura Florand’s Paris novels. Del has come to Paris to compete in a contest to win money and the right to design a fragrance for one of the premier parfumiers in the world. The son of the great parfumier, Sebastien, is reluctantly sponsoring this contest as it was the dying wish of his father. So there is a bit of a reality-show contest without the TV as Del has to compete against other aspiring parfumiers. Apparently, she has some mystical talent from having worked with her grandmother in a small town in Michigan that she’s never left.

I wasn’t as interested in the contest aspect of the novel. All this talk about the mysterious scents that the contestants are blending and how they communicate complex emotions and experiences is just a bit woo-woo for me. But the growing friendship/romance between Del and Sebastien is sweet. It’s not as well-written as Florand’s books and doesn’t have that believable sense of place that Florand’s novels do, but if you liked those books and it’s been too long since the last one came out, you might enjoy this book.

I was given a free ARC of this book from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review

It feels like forever since I read the second book in this delightful Little Paris Collection series from Rebecca Raisin and it practically was - 2016! This is a gorgeous series, so I couldn't wait to jump back into it, and 'The Little Perfume Shop off the Champs-Elysees definitely didn't disappoint!!

I was completely swept up, once again, in the romance of Paris. Rebecca certainly knows her way around the city and it shines off the page. There's the love story between two people and then there's the love story between Del and Paris itself. It's hard not to be drawn into the city lights, quaint cafes and utter passion of Paris. I myself have been before but I never got to experience the city at night, or really appreciate it, which I now feel I need to do.

This is Del's story. She's taken a huge leap out of her comfort zone, by leaving her small hometown in America and her twin sister, to take part in a perfume competition run by the mysterious L'eclere family. Del's worried that she might not have what it takes, especially since losing her Nan has knocked her perfume making off it's game for a while. She's determined to give it all she has to make her New York dreams come true. Not only does she learn a lot about herself, her sister and perfume on her Paris adventure, she also meets Sebastien and discovers that maybe her Nan was onto something about bottling a feeling and saying I love you in three different languages.

Firstly, I enjoyed reading about twins in this story and could relate to the conversations and feelings Del and Jen had very well. Of course, with Rebecca Raisin being a twin herself, the dialogue and emotions were spot on. The missing each other but also being slightly mad with each other, the constant need to text and talk to tell each other what was going on in their lives, the being scared to live their own dreams in case it meant leaving each other...story of my life!! Haha, well except the dreams part, Luc and I have always been on the same page there, well the majority of the time anyway! These little twin quirks made the book extra special for me. It was lovely to be able to truly relate to the main character. Being a twin is like nothing else and is often hard to describe, it adds a unique dimension to life, so, for that to be captured in a story i'm reading was wonderful.

I could also relate to Del's loss and how her Nan's death made her lose a little of her spark for perfumery. Loss is a huge thing, that never really goes away. The way in which Rebecca kept Del's Nan alive in spirit and wrote about the feelings of being watched over and guided were heartwarming. It literally wrapped a warm, comforting glow round the whole story and gave it an extremely powerful sense of love. To me, that's what Grandparents are all about; unconditional love and I could feel that in abundance. If I were to bottle love like Del and her Nan wanted to do, it would smell like my Nanna and Grandad's house, freshly brewed coffee and Pandoro cake!

From the love story, to the descriptions of Paris, to the competition itself, 'The Little Perfume Shop off the Champs-Elysee's,' had me hooked. I was incredibly impressed with all the perfume concoctions. Reading about the perfume process and what elements go into perfumes was fascinating and reminded me of a Hallmark movie I saw last year - Love Blossoms. I love reading stories that teach me things, even if I don't remember every detail, I feel happy knowing I could remember at least one thing that would be helpful in a general knowledge quiz!

'The Little Perfume Shop off the Champs-Elysees,' was worth waiting for. It's got magic, sparkle, twinkling lights of Paris and above all, a copious amount of LOVE! Be whisked away on a beautiful adventure and pick up a copy today!

Del and Sebastian were such lovely characters. The information we get about perfume making isn't overwhelming but definitely adds to the story and helps immerse you in the story. The descriptions of Paris are spot on and the contest idea adds another little plot to it all.

Overall an easy but enjoyable read.

If you love Paris, and are a romantic at heart, you will enjoy this story of Del and Sebastian. Del leaves her small American town to participate in a perfumery contest, the grand prize a year working in the preeminent Paris perfumery. Along the way, she has some missteps and worries she will end up aimless like her hippie parents. Following in the footsteps of her grandmother, Del longs to create the perfect perfume. A light, lovely, quite enjoyable romance.

I loved the setting of Paris and a famous perfume family for this story. The author obviously did a great deal of research about essential oils, perfumes and scents as she goes into great detail about the creating of perfume. It almost becomes too much detail to me at certain points in the book but it certainly goes along with having the "nose" needed in order to create great perfumes. This book is a great combination of romance, culture, growing up, discovering strengths, believing in yourself, and recovering from the loss of a loved one. I do not do synopsis of the story as I do not like to give away the story and spoils it for everyone. I would recommend this book.

In Ms Raisin's much anticipated book (after the bookshop and the little antiques shop) I for one was waiting eagerly to get my hands on this one.Paris... Perfumes.... two of my favourite things! In this we meet Del and a motley crew of perfumers across the world vying for the position into the enigmatic and intriguing Leclres' family and thier perfume boutique, drawing us into their very alluring world of gifted noses and oils and fragrances...
Clem and Lex were two of my faourite characters the book also had its fair share of unsavoury characters but hey... what's life without them!? Sebastein was *sigh* (I have an almost unhealthy obsession with fabuous male leads)
This book is as gorgeous as beautifully crystal cut signature fragrance botte!
**** four fabulous stars!
~ Thank to Netgalley and HArperImpulse for my ARC~ (I desperately eanted this one :)

The is the perfect book to escape into. Having not read the first two books in the series I was a little worried that I would be confused. Luckily, I soon realized that this is a complete standalone and all books can (and will) be enjoyed separately. Since reading this beauty of a book, I went ahead and purchased the first two. It's an absolute must read!
