We met Seth in the Dirty Money series and I wanted more of him! Well this book really does give you more of him and it is just as good as i thought it would be. I can't wait to see what happens with him and Amanda. This book is hot and I did not put it down once I started it. Amanda is the type of female I like reading about... BAD^$$!!

Hot, sexy, fast and suspenseful. This book packs a punch that will have you rooting for both characters even though you feel like you can’t be sure who to trust. Seth is hot and lethal in this book and Amanda will keep him on his toes. They both will have to figure out if they trust each other enough to help each other or if they are just waiting until the other one has their guard down and make a move. I love that their story is broken up into three books so that each one will make a statement and keep you wanting more.

Seth can’t believe he has finally found her after all these years. The woman who broke his heart and killed his friend is finally back in his radar, the only problem is he has to work with her again. But he can stomach working with her until he mission is complete as long as he knows that when it ends he can finally get his revenge and kill her.

Amanda is once again thrown together with Seth, the man who she fell in love with but then took her family away from her. She will help him with what he needs but as soon as they are done, she never wants to see him again. Little does she know its only the beginning and everything she thought she knew is not exactly true.

Are they willing to help each other out and trust one another again? Or is the past too much to get over?

Just to be clear, this has always been designed to be a series with cliffhangers but the release dates are only one week apart. If you are someone who wants to wait until the end, there is no need. They are so close to each other.

This series can be read as a standalone but if you've read the Dirty Money Series, you will know Seth from those books as Shane's right hand man. And let me tell you. From the moment I was introduced to Seth, I was hooked. He was mysterious yet powerful and commanding during that series. I must have been living under a rock not to make the connection that this is the same Seth in the Poison Kisses Series but I'm going to chalk that up to the fact that I sign up for Lisa's work regardless and have been know not to read the blurb beforehand.

Poison Kisses Part 1 starts in present day where Seth is asked to complete a job for the CIA that brings him back into the world of his former love from three years ago. We get glimpses into what happened back then and why these two now both love and hate each other. I was left constantly begging for more information and what caused their past to end the way it did. And just when I thought I was going to get some answers, I get that cliffy. To be clear, I knew it was coming and I actually love cliff hangers. So I'm extremely happy where it left off. I was intrigued and left wanting more. Exactly how I should be feeling.

If you are looking for a possible second chance romance (still too early to decide but looking good) that will leave you craving for more and teetering along that love/hate line along with the main characters, then this is the book/series for you. I love a good story when the couple don't know whether to love each other or kill each other. I can't wait to see what is in store for Seth and Amanda!

Ex CIA agent, Seth Cage, was first introduced to readers in Lisa Renee Jones’ Dirty Money series. While fans of that series will be excited to read Seth and Amanda’s story, this spinoff book is written to stand completely on its own. No doubt that existing fans will enjoy getting their hands on Seth’s back story, but new fans might just find themselves reaching back to learn more about this sexy, dangerous man, previously known as “The Assassin.”

Straight away, we learn that Seth is commissioned for a covert operation involving the woman who both stole and broke his heart. Anger over her betrayal fuels Seth’s actions moving forward, but it’s obvious from the get go that love still lingers just below the surface. It’s true that there’s a fine line between love and hate, because both emotions only serve to re-ignite this couple’s passion that clearly never died.

But there are two sides to every story, and Amanda Skye’s version has pegged Seth as the real villain in their story. Each convinced that they were betrayed by the other, trust doesn’t come easy. Still, with a major threat looming in the distance, Seth and Amanda need to put their anger aside in order to work together in eliminating the potential devastation that could result at the hands of a madman.

Written in three separate parts, “Poison Kisses” (part one) is the perfect combination of secrets, sex, and suspense. Immediately, the story pulled me in and held me captive right up until the very last word. While this first part of the story is short in overall content, there is absolutely no shortage when it comes to intrigue, action, and unbridled passion. If this is any indication of what’s to come, I think it’s safe to say that readers are in for one crazy, lustful ride!

POISON KISSES by Lisa Renee Jones is the First book in the series called "Poison Kisses". This is the story of Amanda Skye and Seth Cage. Their story plays out over three parts which translates to 3 books. Seth was a part of the previous series 'Dirty Money" and now we are getting his story. You don’t have to have read the previous series to get into Seth’s story. Seth used to be CIA before he started working for himself but you know, you never really leave the agency. And now he's being asked to shadow and possibly kill an ex agent. The ex lover—HIS Ex Lover. The only woman he ever truly loved.
Amanda is one of only 4 scientists who know about the dangerous poison this crazy killer is trying to kill lots of people with. The other 3 scientists that she was working with are dead already which is why the CIA thinks she is the killer or is working with the killer. But they have it all wrong. Amanda doesn’t know who is setting her up for a murder rap…she isn’t involved in anyway. Just like both she and Seth were set up 3 years before -- Both thinking the other was baddie.
They each believe the other has betrayed each other and now they are forced to work together once again yet there is the added complication that Seth has been told to kill Amanda when they complete the mission. There is a lot of angst, suspense, intrigue, drama, romance, tension-- between them during the story. We get flashbacks that shows the readers what happened previously between Seth and Amanda in the past and it was done so smoothly that it didn’t feel put upon in the story but more of an added necessity to the story. This is a lovers-to-enemies-to-lovers troupe type story. Poison Kisses: Part 1 is the perfect novella for anyone who is looking for a quick and action-filled Romance read. I look forward to book 2 and seeing what Lisa Renee Jones has set up next for Seth and Amanda.

Kicking off this 3 part story of intrigue and betrayal is Poison Kisses #1. We meet Amanda and Seth and begin to unravel and intense story of passion, love, secrets, and betrayal.

Jones leads us down the garden path in the beginning and leaves us craving more at the end of this novella length portion of the story. I have a love-hate relationship with stories written in this fashion. But, thankfully, we don’t have to wait long for installment number two.

Keep your eye on this space for more from Lisa Renée Jones. She is my one click wonder for amazing stories with over-the-top heat, passion, and intrigue that leaves you begging for more.

Hard to rate but a great beginning ... Cannot wait to see what is to come!

Lisa Renee Jones introduces us into Seth Cage’s world in this first part of the Poison Kisses series. Full of suspense, intrigue, action, danger, as well as some sexy, romantic tension, as we are introduced to the Poison Princess, Amanda Skye and who the real Seth Cage, The Assassin, was and is still in the CIA world. These two have a past, that they are still reeling from, but with danger and deception all around them, they have a mission to complete. But will they? You will have to wait for the other two parts to find out. This one ends in a cliffhanger. But don’t worry these parts are just a week a part. Soon all your questions will be answered! Fantastic! Loved it! Highly Recommend!

This is my first book from Lisa Renee Jones and I looooove it and I'm a fan already.
I devoured it in one sitting in a short amount of time. I can't put it down from the first chapter.
The betrayal, lies and secrets between the Assassin and the Scientist, two CIA agents who hates each other but can't get enough of each other. Oh yeah this one has very interesting story and plot, so many twists and turns. In dying to read the next part, can't wait to know what happen when the secrets unfold.

As for characters, Amanda and Seth are such a strong characters. Their hatred and pain is so palpable, but that's what makes the banter superb. These two bring all the the angst and the hotness, definitely one of my favorite couples.

If you love suspense romance, this one is a MUST-READ one.

Poison Kisses part 1 introduces readers to the main characters, Seth and Amanda. They were CIA operatives and partners a few years earlier. Now Seth hates Amanda, Amanda has been in hiding and the two of them must work together again to stop the bad guy.

I thought Seth was a bit one note. I didn't expect major character growth in part one of the serial but I was hoping for a hint of something beyond his anger and hurt. Amanda is a little more well rounded but her innocence is questionable. What I did like about the story is that it was fast moving and the author didn't spend a lot of time on superfluous details. I was able to create a picture in my head of the characters and scenarios.

I will definitely read the next installment. I am looking forward to learning how the characters handle the bad guy. I am also interested in seeing how the author chooses to let Seth grow and change. I recommend this story to anyone that likes contemporary romance, CIA romance and serial stories. This story is written in first person POV.

Poison Kisses part 1 and I have to say I am not loving this story so far. It is enjoyable but so far I am not liking it as much as other books by Lisa Renee Jones I have read.
I will read the next parts because I am do want to know what will happen next.

Poison Kisses is a companion to the Dirty Money Series. Seth Cage was "The Fixer" for the Brandon Empire, but prior to that he was "The Assassin" for the CIA. He doesn't do love, he doesn't do feelings, and he certainly doesn't do trust. In walks in Amanda Larke, or she walks back in rather, "The Poison Princess." His kind of poison.

What happens when a broken sexy alpha is reunited with a smart sassy heroine? Danger and passion blur the lines. Will these enemies to lovers fall for one another, or kill the other trying to discover the truth to "the ultimate lie."

A good start to this trilogy that literally starts with a bang (and not of the gun variety!) I like the aspect of the story, who's on the side of right and wrong, and who is responsible for the deaths that occurred prior to the start of the book. What's going to happen with Seth and Amanda? Because dang, these two are pretty freakin' lethal and love and hate are strong motivators for these two whenever they're together. I can't wait to read the next part!

Seth Cage is head of security for Brandon Enterprises and is contract agent for the CIA. So when the the CIA calls on him to help and to find the woman who screwed him over three years ago he took it. He had questions that needed to be answered. Amanda disappeared three years ago and has to now help Seth the man she once loved and now hates.
Poison Kisses is a thriller with a lot of ups and downs in this story. What a hot and sexy thriller. This is a great start to this series.

What happens when your ex-lover becomes your enemy?

Poison Kisses lives up to its name with its murder and espionage all the while giving us Seth and Amanda’s love story. In the first part of this series Seth is given an assignment to work with his ex-lover again. Amanda has been hiding from Seth for 3 years and now he has the chance he has been waiting for to get some answers. The night Amanda left Seth while they were on a job changed so much in their relationship they don’t know how they can get past it. The whole first part of this series is getting know Amanda and Seth’s past with one another. It gives you a glimpse of how they came to be into the present. There are so many secrets within their circle they both do not know who to trust. They both go back and forth with a game of who can top the other. When they finally get together after 3 years its not all roses and sunshine but lust and betrayal in their eyes. Even though they still love one another how they can trust one another with so many unanswered questions. Will the “Assassin” and “Poison Princess” find a way to get the job done while finding their way to move away from the past?

This story will take you into a world of murder, betrayal, secrets, and a love that two people fight to hold onto when they know someone is there breaking it apart. Poison Kisses is a romantic suspense story with a dirty talking alpha fighting to get his way. This book is told in Seth’s POV and he is an alpha male that will not stop until he gets the answers he wants. Amanda is a strong female character fighting for her life when she realizes that Seth is there to kill her before the enemy uses her. I love that they don’t let that minor problem get in the way to finding the truth. Their chemistry is intense and explosive when they are on the scene. Their love can’t be denied even when they are both denying it. This book will have you leave you hanging though and ready for the next book in the series. All your questions will not be answered and will make you a quite mad but don’t be discouraged. Lisa will eventually answer all our questions I hope in the next book because who would keep us hanging like that. I would very much like to know if Seth and Amanda are being set up and who is behind all the betrayal.

The beauty of this novella, the first part in the Poison Series, is you don’t need to have read the Dirty Money series to get the gist of the story and get this, Part 2 and 3 are just around the corner, so hopefully the author will put me out of my misery seeing as the cliffy left me hanging on a precipice. If Seth Cage was mysterious then, I found him even more interesting this time around. In the espionage business, Jones’ protagonists are on a mission together and not out of choice. It’s a real page-turner taking the reader on a rollercoaster of a ride across the US. In extremely well-described scenes, I felt like I was alongside them and imaging this action-packed story in real life was dead easy. The operative word being dead, of course!

Unanswered questions? Yes, there are plenty! And hopefully we’ll discover if Amanda Skye, aka the Poison Princess and Seth, aka the Assassin’s warnings are threats and not promises. Certainly my appetite was whetted for more from where this has come. True to the author’s style, her narrative is fast-paced, intrigue abounds and delving into Seth’s innermost thoughts regarding how he felt about the woman who’s holding back on him put me in the picture...but of course, only up to a point because he’s a dark horse, too. I can’t wait to read Amanda’s point of view, if she’s true to her feelings or going to take matters into her own hands and that folks, isn’t figuratively speaking, either! Then again, when so much is at stake and believe you me, there is, can the two of them regain what they’d had?

Told in present tense which I liked a lot and a well-known challenge for any author, my only objection is why this 3 part serial wasn't published in one book. Having devoured the first part in no time at all, I would have happily carried on reading this sexy non-stop read overflowing with angst till the very end. Apart from this setback, the banter, character development and plot is perfect. Bravo Ms Jones!

Oh my goodness! I knew there was something about Seth I liked and this confirms it. Seth works with Shane as a Fixer but before that he was with the CIA and known as The Assassin and as high up as he was they would never let him go. That is apparent when in the first few pages they seek him out with an assignment. He is being sent to kill his former partner, the only woman he has ever loved, Amanda Skye. Her specialty is poison and they need her to make an antidote and then she is to be eliminated. What will Seth do? If you have a problem with cliffhangers, you may want to hold on to this one until you get all three to read at one time. Lucky for me I have all three to read and review. YAY for me! I highly recommend this one and you do not need to read the Dirty Deeds series first as this stands on its own.

If you love a good read with a major cliff hanger that has you desperately wanting more, this is your book! It is filled with action packed scenes of danger and attraction that can't be denied. Seth is the hero with all the skills and all the right moves, but not to be out done by a very strong and capable heroine, Amanda. The worst part of this book is the waiting for the next installment to come out. February 13 cannot come quick enough!!!!

So we have Amanda Skye AKA The Scientist and Seth Cage The assassin.
After a mission gone wrong which leaves a friend of Seth's dead and Amanda the woman he thought loved him gone.
Seth wanted out of the game but he is called back in for one last mission when the CIA gets a heads up on Amanda whereabouts and he's definitely the man for this job.
Each thinking the other has betrayed them the two lock heads from the get-go.
Poison kisses may be short but it does pack a punch.
It is told in a series of flashbacks which works but I would have preferred to have seen more now time rather than then.
I struggled to feel a connection between Amanda and Seth at times, maybe because this was so short.
I'm not really sure why if I'm honest I just wasn't feeling the love here.
I also wasn't overly fond of the opening scene which Shows Seth getting down and dirty with some random woman.
I didn't feel it added anything and was just there for added shock value and to say look at me I'm a douchebag player, love them and leave them thats me readers.
I felt this could have been portrayed in a much better way, just my opinion know.
So I don't really know if I'm invested enough to read part two.
We’ll see, a bonus is it's not long to wait really, so that good news.
Overall this was an ok read for me that passed a pleasant hour.
It was short but certainly was action packed throughout.

5 POISON KISSES PART 1 STARS!! I loved Dirty Money series, so I was so excited for this serial. Seth is EVERYTHING, he is the whole package, I fell in love with him from the beginning. This is the first part of the three books, as always from Lisa Renee Jones, we get suspense, sexy times and a great storyline. I can't wait for part 2. Seth is a bad *a* and I am loving how much we get to know what is beneath this man! So you know he is Brandon's #1 man from LRJ's previous series Dirty Money. What we did not realize is how HUMAN this man is. He has cracked my exterior and is worming his way through my heart! But I believe his heart already belongs to our CIA scientist Amanda.

I love hard on Amanda and what does. She has the brains and the beauty. But there is so much more to Seth and Amanda's relationship! They believe they betrayed each other, but my gut instincts says that they have been played this whole time. The CIA is not a joke. They can pull strings before you know it!

Poison Kisses part 1 is just the beginning. I have barely uncovered the first layer of the truth that have been hidden under lies and poison kisses. I literally was swiping my Kindle screen so fast because I wanted more of the story! I am starting Part 2 today and can not wait to see what else happens between Seth and Amanda!
