I've read Tara Sivec before and all her books are hilarious and this was no exception. The thing that stood out to me in this book is that the heroine is kind of a doormat at first. She needed a good kick in the pants. Like, if it were me I would have kicked her husband to the curb several years ago. She lets everyone walk all over her. I didn't particularly like that. I'm a strong, opinionated woman and probably the heroine's complete opposite - so for her to be so meek made me feel like SHE-RA. I loved PJ and he really made it worth the read. He was the sweetest and made me wish that guys like him exist....because they don't!!! If they did - I'd be all over that!! This was just a really great read to me and I'm a stingy 5 star person and thought this was great so I can't wait to dig into the second book!!

This was just a fun book...nothing too serious and had a lot of funny moments. This is the kind of book I enjoy when I need a break from everything else out there. I am not typically a romance reader, but this was focused more on the women and their problems and lives.

I really enjoy Tara Sivec and I find her one of the funniest writers I have found, so to say I was a bit excited when I saw a new series coming was an understatement.

I really like when she brings out trilogies they really mesh well and are easily read as a single story or as the three books devoured one after the other.

I really liked the idea of Disney princesses and was excited to see what would come about this interesting idea.

I really enjoyed the couple characters Cindy and PJ, and I look forward to reading more in the next two books.

I did feel that it didnt get good till the 6th chapter and nearly gave up but I pushed through and was glad that I did.

The story as a whole is a quick read with a bit of action, some hilarious antics including the affects of alcohol and some stripping thrown in. This is a story to read in between for a bit of a chuckle.

I did not finish this novel. I tried multiple times to read it, but it just wasn't what I expected. I didn't find it humorous at all. I just didn't enjoy this one.

The description made me think this book would be my booknip, but I'm sorry, it's just not for me. I tried, but no.

At the Stroke of Midnight is an awesome read. The characters are over the top entertaining & discussions they have are laugh out loud funny.

Do yourself a favor & read this modern day telling of the Cinderella & Prince Charming story. I can't wait to read the next book in the The Naughty Princess Club series.

I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

At the stroke of midnight deserves all the stars!
Best book ever.
So great it’s worth a second read.
So many funny situations, mixed with raw human desires.
You will laugh and you will need a cold shower.
The books main character is a strong logical women who has to pick up the pieces of her life in order to provide for herself and her teenage daughter. Along the way she sheds her old skin and finds new true friends. They help her to persevere and together they build a future that empowers each of them.
I loved seeing a strong female cast of characters in this book. It’s a refreshing change to your more submissive girl/alpha male genre. The comedic dialogue will stick with you and I bet you’ll start incorporating a few new sayings into your day to day interactions.
Tons of funny. Tons of girl power. And tons of hot love scenes.
You’ll want to read it twice!

This was hilarious goodness in all its glory! I had a seriously fun time reading this and laughed myself silly. I adored this!

Cindy was amazeballs! Watching this uptight woman pretty much fall apart and build herself back up was fantastic. I loved seeing her get all worked up and when she finally lets it all fly, it was epic! This was witty and smart and I couldn't turn the page fast enough. I loved her friends Ariel and Belle, these women together were so incredibly entertaining with very distinct personalities, making me excited for their stories. Everyone together could be crass and a bit obnoxious but it was just so hysterical that it made it all that more endearing.

Cindy’s love interest is PJ and every meeting and encounter between the two just seemed so well played, it made me giddy. There's some tension and animosity that's really fun and I loved watching their relationship build. There were just so many entertaining, well written scenes with excellent comedic timing.

There's a bit of tension, a lot of laughs, a nice amount of heat, a very swoony man, an icky ex, a sarcastic teenager, and a fantastic trio of women in play. I was just so excited reading everything and I'd seriously just burst out with these barks of laughter. There were so many great lines in this. I loved all the fairytale tie-ins and thought it was all really well thought out.

Yes, there's an HEA for this charming couple but most of all it's Cindy reclaiming her life and owning who she is and being this strong, sexy, fierce, women and it was freaking awesome! If you want to get your laugh on, you can’t go wrong with this!

This one took a while to get into. I was probably at least halfway through before I really started feeling invested and wanting to see what would happen.

I loved the last half of the book though and how everything played out. It was awesome!

Cynthia annoyed me at first but by the end of the book I liked her. I found Ariel hilarious. PJ sweet once getting to know him. Belle I don’t really have too much of an opinion on right now.

I will read the next one, as I assume its about Belle based on the title. I would like to read both hers and Ariel’s stories.

Sometimes all a girl needs is a hilarious, laugh till you pee while vibrating with complete and total book satisfaction glee sort of romcom. At The Stroke of Midnight was that perfect book for me. It was perfectly hilarious. Perfectly swoony. Perfectly written. Perfectly paced. Perfectly perfect perfection! Basically what I’m trying to tell you is that I freaking LOVED THIS BOOK. HARD.
I don’t know how to act, and for the love of God, where does one put her hands when she’s sitting on a guy’s lap in a postorgasmic haze? Do I clasp them behind my head, do I hold them up for a high five and an “’Atta boy!”? Are jazz hands appropriate? What about spirit fingers?
At first when I started reading and I thought, OMG this totally reminds me of First Wives Club! And I loved that movie. A woman that gave up her life and goals for her husband only for him to run away with their much younger babysitter, leaving her with nothing, and mailing the divorce papers. Woman meets her snarky and smart mouthed neighbor whose husband left her for a man, and along with a shy librarian that’s full of random facts that she likes to spew at even more random times, they concoct a plan to get their life back. Hello, winning plot!!!
But this book was so much more than that, too! It’s a deliciously brilliant twist on the classic fairytale, chock full of incredibly endearing characters, and a super fun girlfriend bond between three of the most unlikely people. Man, I absolutely devoured this book!
Can a prim and proper housewife turn herself into a sexy and enticing stripper for a business concocted between her and two other equally desperate friends? That’s the question of the hour for Cynthia. There’s just one thing she needs; some stripper training. Too bad the owner of the well known establishment that she’d like to use to get her stripper shoe in the door also happens to be frustratingly sexy and having none of it. Sparks flew right away between PJ and Cindy. Theirs was a slow burn sizzle to beat all slow burn sizzles. It was also full of hilarious banter and enough sexual tension to light up a 10 mile city block. GOD IT WAS GOOD!
What I enjoyed even more that the banter between Cindy and PJ was the banter between the three girlfriends. I loved the three of them. Ariel with her smart mouth and never ending insults, and Belle and her endearing and shy demeanor.
This is how I love my romcoms. I couldn’t put this book down for even a second. I’m already vibrating for my next fit and I can’t wait to see what hilarity Tara Sivec thinks up for Belle and her Beast. If there’s even a single doubt you have ringing in your head about this book, tell that hooker to STFU, and one-click immediately! This is an absolute no-brainer must read!

Warning - do not eat or drink anything while reading this book. You will damage your e-reader/book if you attempt it. This is a typical Tara Sivec style rom-com. It is crude and obscene, yet absolutely hilarious. The plot is predictable, yet it has some unique and unexpected moments. I'm really looking forward to the next book.

4.5 charming Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟.5

Once upon a time... three Beautiful women lived on Fairytale Lane.... Cindy Ella a newly divorced woman, with a teenage daughter named Anastasia, and a struggle to make ends meet.... Ariel a single woman with the looks of a princess and the mouth of a trucker.... Belle A quiet woman who still lives with her father abides by his rules and is filled with facts of all kinds.... will they all live happily ever after?

This is the first book in this brand new series by one of my favorite authors Tara Sivec... Love her! especially when you’re in the mood for a fun fluffy read with lots of laughs and fabulous characters..... Tara writes books that don’t take themselves too seriously... and I’m really excited about this new series it started off fantastically....

This is Cindy story and her struggle to loosen up a bit and enjoy life.... can she ditch the pearl necklace for stilettos with the help of her new friends Ariel and Belle? And how these ladies ultimately decide to make money is quite unbelievable yet hilarious... I loved all these characters the girls were so much fun, a little over-the-top, but that is to be expected with a Tara Sivec book.... I love all the fairytale and princess references from the strip club named Charmings to the love interest named PJ (and guess what the P stands for?).... and I can’t forget the bouncer at the club named Beast along with another gentleman working at the club named Eric.... wonderful start to a fun new series!

Absolutely recommend two lovers of romance with lots of laughs, if you liked any of this authors other books you will really enjoy this one!👑

*** thank you to the publisher and Net Galley for a copy of this book ***

This book and the characters are loosely based on the Disney fairytale princesses. Cynthia (aka Cindy Ella), has been married to, what she believed was, her knight in shinning armor for the past 13 years. That is until he stole from his family business, cleaned out their joint bank accounts and ran off with the girl who had been their baby sitter since she was 15.

It's been six months since Ben took off, and Cynthia's credit cards have been cancelled (by Ben), her in-laws have been leaving harassing messages because they believe she knows about the money their son stole from the family business, and the last straw is when the neighborhood singleton, Ariel, whom everyone talks about (including Cynthia) shows up on her front doorstep with a bill for the doctors' visit and herpes diagnosis after sleeping with Ben seven months ago. Turns out its a prank to get back her Cynthia for spreading rumors with the other Stepford Wives, but its enough to knock some sense into Cynthia.

She soon stops pretending everything is okay, becomes friends with Ariel and Belle (local librarian, 25, who still lives at home and has a curfew), and they come up with a plan to start a business and pay the bills Cynthia and Ariel have after their divorces and the money Belle needs to save the library where she works and get out of her father's home and on her own.

When Cynthia garners the attention of PJ Charming, a strip club owner, she realizes the life she thought she had and wanted, wasn't any better than the childhood she thought she'd escaped. She was doing everything for everyone else. Molding herself into what they wanted for the perceived security of a family who would love her. She soon understands that life with PJ is better than anything she could have imagined for herself and her daughter, and she's the master of her destiny... no one else.

OMG... It's been so long since I've read a Tara Sivec book, I forgot how hilarious her writing and characters are. Now I need to go back and re-read the Chocolate Lovers series and read Chocoholics and the Fool Me Once series.

This was so funny, I couldn't stop listening to the audiobook I bought. Though I got this as a NetGalley read, I really wanted to listen and glad I did.

I am dying for Ariel and Belle's stories. I'm assuming Ariel will end up with PJ's business partner, Eric Sailor, who seems to love her smart mouth, and Belle will end up with the club bouncer, Beast.

I can't wait for their books. Hurry!!!!!

What a fun concept! This book, the first in a series, is a fairy tale retelling (this one is Cinderella), and it was a lot of fun. All the characters live on Fairy Tale Ln. and are neighbors. The stand-out character was definitely Ariel, and I'll be eagerly anticipating her book. I'd recommend this for adults who love fairy tales!

There is a reason why Tara Sivec has been one of my favorite authors for 6 years. Her humor just hits me in exactly the right way, and the friendships she writes are second to none. Have you seen Bad Moms? (If not, go, go right now and watch it, then come back here). At The Stroke of Midnight by Tara Sivec is like Bad Moms mixed with Disney Princesses in book form, and believe me, I am NOT complaining. Each book in the series will be another take on a princess story. The first, obviously, is Cinderella.

Cindy has a stick up her ass. Her husband left her, but she is still busy keeping up appearances on her perfect upscale suburban cul-de-sac, Fairytale Lane. She is the PTA mom that makes gluten free/vegan cupcakes that taste like shit. She wears pearls and Chanel suits like her mother-in-law trained her, and never has a hair or a picture frame out of place. But she is broke. Her ex took all the money when he ran off with the babysitter, leaving her with a sullen teenaged girl.

At a block party, Cindy strikes up a very unlikely friendship with Ariel, the totally inappropriate slutty-ish one (she was THE BEST!), and Belle, the nerdy librarian that lives with her dad. They all need money, and they need it fast.

“We are not going to be strippers, have you lost your mind? I’m a housewife and the president of the PTA. You owned an antique store, and Isabelle is a librarian. We are not strippers.”

Once they realize their home-party princess stripping gimmick could make them loads of cash fast, they start to get serious, and they want to learn at the local strip club, owned by the gorgeous PJ Charming.

“I don’t want anything to hit PJ. I don’t even like him,” I lie, picturing his gorgeous face and how nicely he can wear a pair of jeans.
“You don’t have to like him to get yourself some good dicking. You need a good dicking, Cindy. Brian was mediocre at best. You need mind-blowing, toe-curling, forget-your-own-name dicking. And while you’re busy getting fucked into next week, you can also use him for his business knowledge, so it’s a win-win.”

PJ was a total jerk to Cin at first, you know, the equivalent to the 2nd grade boy pulling a girl’s braids if he likes her. But he soon turned into Prince Charming and I loved him! And I loved Cin’s inner dialogue as she started loosening up.

At The Stroke of Midnight was a great blend of chick-lit and romance. The friendship between the three woman was just as good as the romance.

“If you can tuck your tits into the waistband and it looks like you’re wearing a diaper, they’re mom jeans. Never wear those again,” Ariel informs me. “Do you not want to get naked because you have a hairy troll pussy? It’s fine, we can fix that with a quick trip to the salon and some hot wax.”

Likes:
•Tara’s signature humor.
•I smiled and laughed the whole way through.
•Tara writes friendship better than anyone else.
•I love the creativity of the three princesses!
•It’s not all funny, there was real emotion.
•Dealing with Cin’s teenage daughter was hysterical.
“Would it be appropriate to just buy ten cases of chocolate, open up her bedroom door, throw them at her, and then run away screaming?”
•A little cameo from other books.
•Awesome side characters.
•It was empowering to women.

Dislikes:
•Some parts it felt like she may have tried too hard to inject the Tara-style humor into the story, making it feel a teeny bit contrived, but this may be because I know her.

The Down & Dirty:
After living in Parkland since the tragedy here, there is nothing like like reading a Tara Sivec book to make me smile, laugh, and temporarily forget the horrors outside. The three women reminded me a lot of the three moms in Bad Moms, and I loved that movie, so this was a totally fun book to read. I love the creativity of the modern take on three princess stories, it’s so cute and creative! At the Stroke of Midnight by Tara Sivec was the perfect blend of humor, friendship, romance, emotion and sexiness and I can’t freaking wait to read In Bed with The Beast and Kiss the Girl. Once again Tara reinforced her spot at the top of my favorite authors list.
Rating: 5 Stars, 4 Heat

Another fun take on fairytales. I laughed. I swooned and I cried. Tara Sivec knows how to hook a reader with antics and shenanigans. Can't wait for what's next.

An absolutely hilarious way to resume life after a divorce. Never expecting to be left by her husband Cynthia meets to unlikely friends that change her life. Struggling to take the next steps forward she realizes everything she held dear never truly existed. I laughed all the way through the book and cheered as Cynthia met her Prince Charming by stepping out of the life she had crafted around a man who took her for granted. A definite must read and I look forward to the rest of the series.

It was great and fun! Some of the things that happened just seam absurd but they just keep pilling up until Cynthia decides to show a backbone and dirty herself up. Letting loose is exactly what she needed to finally take control of her life and put herself first taking care of her needs. And ironically by doing that she finds her prince not so charming that values her like no one else and puts her first. With him by his side and her 2 partners in crime she ends up finding herself truly living and enjoying life. And also embracing her full potential. Who would have thought that she would find all that and true friends in the people she least expected. I am really looking forward to everyone else story.
