Ok, I am obviously in a very small minority here, but for me,this book was just alright. I loved the overall theme of female empowerment, and Cindy's transformation and growth. And yes, I know it's a book and suspension of disbelief must be used. But there were a couple of things that bothered me. First of all I am the mother of a 13 year old, and I can't imagine any child around that age encouraging their mom's stripping career. Not only that, but Cindy is able to go out whenever she wants, have people over to party, and the daughter is rarely mentioned. And for me it wasn't believable that Cindy would go,from uptight to dropping the f bomb in front of her daughter in a couple of weeks. Also, she never seems to be hungover despite the many times she gets drunk, even though she never used to drink a lot. And I know this is all nitpicky kind of stuff, but it kept drawing me out of the story, so I wasn't fully immersed.
I absolutely loved this book!!! I enjoyed the relationship among the 3 female characters as I did between the H and h. I want friends just like them....especially Ariel! And PJ is definitely swoonworthy! Even the teenager was likable.
This was a read that dealt with many issues - cheating, divorce, money problems, etc. However, the way it was presented and dealt with was laugh-out-loud funny at times. It was not unrealistic though, because there were moments when emotions broke through and readers could see the reality of the situation. Overall, you see the strength of women and find out the "fairy tale" of princely men is real.
I highly recommend this if you are looking for a fun, sexy read. I can not wait for the other ladies' stories!
At the Stroke of Midnight (The Naughty Princess Club #1) by Tara Sivec
4-4.5*
What a wonderful and hilarious start to a brand new series! At the Stroke of Midnight introduces us to three very different women: Cynthia (aka Cin aka Cinderella), Ariel (fairly self-explanatory), and Isabelle (aka Belle) who come together to right the (financial) issues in their lives and start a business together. After attending what they thought was a children’s birthday party in their best fairytale attire and being mistaken for strippers, the business they decide to start is for fairytale strippers - who knew there’d be such a niche?! Apparently, Sivec knew! They go to Charming's strip club to learn the tricks of the trade and that’s where Cynthia has her THIRD encounter with PJ: the first when she fainted and he caught her in his arms and the second being when she turned up for his birthday!
I loved all the characters in this book so much. I loved PJ Charming: he really lived up to his name. A sexy, sweet, nice guy - how many men do you know who’d open up a strip-club solely for single mothers and happily accommodates their and their children’s needs? Cin needed a good shaking and someone to assist with her pole-in-her-butt syndrome. Who better to assist than the absolutely crass Ariel and the timid yet full of interesting facts, Belle? No one. They, along with PJ, helped Cin to see herself as more than just the PTA mom and chair of the homeowners association. They collectively helped her get in touch with sexy side and to stop hiding behind her bland ensembles. They were such an incredibly unlikely combination group of women to ever have formed a friendship but they complemented each other and showed support in some interesting ways!
It’s been a long, long while since I’ve read Sivec and her brand of humor can be a hit or miss for me. I’m so thankful that At the Stroke of Midnight was a hit! I laughed throughout and while I can’t deny enjoying the romantic aspects of it, what I enjoyed the most was the celebration of friendship and female solidarity. My only real gripe if you can call it that is, considering that Cin is a single mother, I would have liked a bit more of her daughter throughout the story rather than the little that was interspersed. The set-ups for the following books have me so very excited to read those and I’ll be refreshing netgalley repeatedly until they pop-up!

This story was absolutely adorable. It made me laugh out loud and left a huge smile on my face after reading. I am already loving this series and these characters and I am dying to read more.
The banter and the storyline is so refreshing and fun and I love the writing. I was addicted and completely caught up in this book and could not put it down. I can't wait to read more from Tara.
I have read many Tara Sivec romantic comedies, and she never fails to deliver laugh out loud funny stories. This book did not disappoint, it brought the laughs but still got you invested in the characters and left you caring about them.
The Stroke of Midnight has 3 strong females who step out of their comfort zones to form a tight friendship that everyone wants to have. A sexy handsome not so prince charming who makes you sigh. Sexual tension and romance that is intense and steamy. Last but definitely not least it has dialogue that will have you laughing out loud in public and people will think your crazy lol
I honestly enjoyed every minute of the stroke of midnight by Tara Sivec and I can not wait for the next installment in the Naughty Princess Club. My book loving self can't wait for Belle's happily ever after with a certain Beast!
Loved the concept of this story. Modern day women, with fairytale names, living in a world similar to the fairytales, and taking control of their lives. Tara Sivec does not disappoint with her witty tale and the mouth on Ariel. I am looking forward to more stories from this series.
I’m definitely giving At The Stroke of Midnight by Tara Sivec 5 stars! Tara, always make me laugh out loud with all her books & this one was no different!
There was parts in the book were I wanted PJ’s POV but that’s also what kept me going, wanting to know what he’s going to do next and what he is thinking. And let me tell you any right minded woman would want a Prince Charming like PJ! Cindy was lost, didn’t know what to do. A parent trying to do anything she could to feed her child and keep a roof over their heads, then she literally lands in his hand and doesn’t understand what’s going on between them, because she married the first guy she dated and never experience TRUE love. This story is a true fairytale and I LOVED how the story has the old fairytale with a contemporary twist.
Fairytales don’t only belong in books!
Also, this book shows everyone that it’s never to late to find your true love. Even if the first or the second guy didn’t work out maybe your 3rd or 4th is the right one for you! Don’t give up, keep looking, because they are out there! I really connected with this book because I come from divorced parents. Everything is fine now but it wasn’t always like that, so I clicked with the characters and understood what they were going through. Tara did not skip any of the drama and family problems that come with split/divorced parents hahaha This book was very good and I recommend it! I can’t wait for #2, Tara, I need it NOW!
I received this book from NetGalley for my honest review. #ReleasesFeb27th #Fairytales

"A prude, a mouth, and a librarian walk into a strip club . . . "
If anyone can take the Disney fairy tale stories of Cinderella, Ariel and Belle, shake it up and put together a wildly creative retelling with strippers, this author can do it!
The aspects that connect this story to the Disney fairy tales are subtle at first. But as you learn about each character's back story, it all makes sense.
This story, the first in the series, features Cynthia. She's the Malibu Barbie, PTA mom, Stepford Wife of the bunch, who literally has her world turned upside down when her husband, cheats, files for divorce and takes all her money.
So, does Cynthia have a Prince who can "save her"?
Enter PJ Charming (initials to be revealed later).
He's gorgeous.
Rich.
Business savvy.
And . . . . just so happens to run a strip club. *record screeches*
But don't judge a book by its cover, right?
There is more to PJ and his business that it initially appears.
As Cynthia's world spirals out of control, not only does she have the strong arms of PJ to catch her, but two other neighbors of Fairytale Lane, Ariel and Isabelle "Belle.
While Belle is pretty true to the Disney character she represents, Ariel is the wild one of the bunch, and provides a lot of the laughs in the book, as she attempts to remove the stick up Cynthia ass (her words, not mine).
"Let the skank out, Cindy. Let her out and let her fuck shit up."
"Oh, sweet Jesus. I think we broke Princess Barbie."
Together, the three Princess . . . er, neighbors, form their new business venture, along with PJ's guidance and expertise.
This is a fun story about rising above pain and finding a new life path. While the theme is a common one, the author makes it uniquely hers. A thoroughly entertaining read!
"I never expected this. I never expected you."

Another hilarious and witty book by Tara Sivec! This one reminded me of how I feel in love with her books through Seduction and Snacks ! The characters were hilarious. The storyline was original and I didn't want to put this one down for a second! Tara Sivec is back with some crazy characters who are into crazy situations! Non stop laughs!
5 stars all the way, this was funny, heart-warming, hilarious, sexy contemporary I have read in a little whiles. Tara when she writes rom-com she is the queen! This was the best, snarky attitudes, strippers, secondary characters that you know you want to read about and the writing is fantastic. I literally read this in one sitting, it was a hoot to read. Can not wait for more. I was laughing so much, and I just couldn't pull myself away I was flipping them pages quick. At the Stroke Of Midnight is seriously adorable, super funny and you will want more when its finished. I felt that the romance was not at the forefront like her other rom coms, this was about finding yourself and friendship. The Naughty Princess Club series is going to be one everyone should want to read. Cindy, Ariel and Belle are perfect characters, I love that this is an ADULT re telling in a mixed up way! it was everything I hoped it was going to be.
Super fun and funny book. My only complaint is I wish the naughty bits had started earlier!! lol. I can't wait for the next one!
This book gave me happy feels in my freaking soul. I don't even know where to start with all this goodness.
Cynthia was the perfect dotting housewife until life took a giant shit on her. Trying to keep her life together while keeping that perfect facade in tact started to prove more difficult than she thought. A reality check in the shape of a foul mouthed antique store owner and collector Ariel and a nerdy shy fact sprouting librarian Bella came crashing into her life at full speed with no apologies. Fucking hilarious, I want in the girl powwow!
My heart hurt for the girl who just wanted to fit in. Who lost herself in the process of being what others wanted her to be. She in some way relates to every women out there regardless of this being 'fiction'. She made herself out to be something she wasn't in order to protect her.. having her POV ment we got to see and feel all her inner turmoil. See those walls crack and break letting a tsunami of pent up hurt, anger, betrayal and finally relief break free.
I loved her as a character so rich with so many layers. My inner feminist ass cheered in happiness as she fought for her own happy. Her own independence and finally her not giving a fuck about what others thought. I love her job and the supporters she had behind her! And I love that the author didn't make is sound sleazy of something to be ashamed off. I just adored her, she kicked ass and fought for her happiness! Yesssss gurl.
Mr PJ... mhmm that delicious tall drink of man candy just ticked every box. Obviously at first he's that asshole we all love to hate but that soon changes. Super sweet, attentive and understanding. Supportive and protective. He's everything you want in a hero. Oh and he is damn fine!. And what he did for his momma?! Yes lord he is perfect. I want one please...
Ariel and Bella are some of the best side characters I've ever read!!!. I honestly roared in laugher at the absurdity of them half the time. But beside from them being hilarious they were the best kind of friends a girl needs. Way to honest, bunt and sometimes (most of the time for Ariel) damn right rude. But they were there and had her back through everything. Supportive, sweet.. they rocked!.
I love this slow burning deliciously teasing romance!. A story of self discovery, fruitcake friendships and craycray dysfunctional shenanigans. A sweet romance with some hothot moments. The characters are relatable in their struggles, well written with so much depth and great chemistry . A fantastic rollercoaster of a story written seemlessly with a little of everything.
I can't wait for what's next!!!! Me hopes Its Bella and beast, the wait will be a torturous !!!.
This will be my 2018 favourite re read I just know it. I'm not sure much can top this.
I'd recommend this to anyone who loves humour with their romance.

Tara Sivec knows how to write a fun romance. I was laughing so much and really enjoyed this book. This was the perfect start to a new series. While reading it there were parts that reminded me of her Chocolate loves series. Those are books I will pick up and read again when I need something light hearted and funny. This book is the same way, I found myself high lighting so many parts.
Cynthia has had her world turned upside down when her husband left her and took all their money. She has struggled to pay the bills and keep up the lie that everything is ok. She thinks she has all her friends and neighbors fooled as to what’s going on with her family.
She finally makes two true friends that help the true Cynthia come out. Ariel, Belle and Cynthia decide to start a business together. PJ is the perfect guy to help them and also the guy Cynthia can’t stop thinking about. PJ owns a strip club and doesn’t give Cynthia the time of day when they first meet. With the help of Pj, Ariel and Belle they help Cynthia let lose.
I loved the secondary characters and couldn’t wait to see what was going to come out of Ariel’s mouth next. This was the perfect start to a new series and I can’t wait for the next one.
So stinkin’ funny! Though a little crass, I did enjoy this lighthearted and hilarious read! I LOVED how Cindy came into her own but the end!
Laugh out loud read that will have you convulsing into a gigglish fit. Tara Sivec is the hands down queen of romantic comedy’s she leaves her readers both blushing and chuckling all at the same time. At the Stroke of Midnight deserves all five stars for its originality in story plot, comedy gold, and its steamy moments that earn the tag STEAMY in all caps. I cannot recommend this book enough. I look forward to reading Tara Sivec’s next book out in summer 2018 In Bed With the Beast!
I started out not liking it.. I found it very slow to get to the point where her and PJ actually got together, (I think it was 60%ish when good stuff happened) and of course I'm an epilogue whore, and there wasn't one.. so that sucked. but overall, I did love this book. Kinda hard not to love something written by Tara..
At the Stroke of Midnight is an amazing laugh out loud until you nearly pee your pants read. Seriously it's so good. Cindy may seem uptight but damn girl once that stick is pulled out be prepared to be rolling in laughter. You may also need to be fanning yourself once Cindy gets her groove back. Ariel is a riot. I love her brashness. Ariel is by far my favorite of the "naughty princesses". She doesn't hold back and I love how she helps Cindy and Belle slowly pulling them out of their comfort zones. Belle well have you cracking up with her bookworm self. Her endless knowledge of weird facts is amazing. Now lets not for get his hotness PJ. Damn. He is hot and Strip club owner. I love how he pushes Cindy's buttons. The banter and the bickering has you seriously laughing out loud to the point of tears and snorting at times. Strip club humor all the way. I love how Tara Sivec writes a damn awesome romcom. The Naughty Princess Club is on track to be a series that I'll be reading over and over again just like her Seduction and Snacks and the Holiday series. I couldn't put this one down.
Tara Sivec is at her hilarious best with her new Naughty Princess Club series.
It is comedy gold. From the first word to the the last I was in stitches as Cynthia, Ariel and Belle embark on new exciting and funny adventures.
At The Stroke of Midnight is a sexy new telling of Cinderella
Believe me when I say, you will never look at Cinderella, The Little Mermaid and Beauty and The Beast the same - ever!
I was kept on the edge of my seat, laughing so much and just needing to know where the story would go next.
And ladies, if you don't swoon at the Charming in this story, well, there must be something wrong with you!
Oh, and when frickle meets frackle - dies!
Get swept up in the Wysteria Lane-ish antics of these ladies. You won't regret it.
I cannot wait for book 2!
*will go live everywhere next month on release*
I just adored this book. The writing is fantastic and the humor is spot on. It’s the perfect modern day fairy tale with strippers. The book is so much more than that. It’s about starting over from scratch, reinventing yourself and doing what you need to provide for your child. The writing is fresh and insightful.
