This 👏 book 👏 gets 👏 all 👏 the 👏 stars! Seriously. Can I give it 10? It's my review, I can do whatever I want. 10 STARS!

I have been a fan of Tara Sivec from the very beginning, always looking forward to her next release and constantly recommending all of her books to anyone who will listen. I swear noone writes RomCom like Tara. This is for sure going to be on my Top Reads of 2018 list and one of my top RomCom's ever!

I haven't laughed this hard while reading a book in a long time. Be prepared for people to look at you like you are crazy while you sit by yourself and laugh hysterically. Seriously. The one liners had me literally laughing out loud.

Cindy's stick up her ass, Ariel and her foul mouth, Belle with her random facts, PJ, Anastasia, Eric, Beast - I seriously don't know who I love more!

Warning: This is not your typical princess fairytale from when you were a kid. This is the laugh inducing, swoon worthy, foul mouthed Naughty Princess Club. This is how Cin got her groove back.

My rating scale:
5☆ - I loved this book and it brought out true emotion in me (laughter, anger, a good cry, etc)
4☆ - I loved this book.
3☆ - I liked this book.
2☆ - I didn't really care for this book.
1☆ - I did not like this book at all and probably did not finish it.

This was such a fun book! I had such a great time with it and laughed out loud throughout most of it. I can't recommend enough!

What a great Rom-com with a princess twist. Poor Cindy and her neat and tidy so called perfect life has hit rock bottom. She has to take her life by the balls and put it back together with the help of Belle and Ariel. Oh, and there's PJ. OMG I thought he was a little Jerks McGee when he and Cindy first meet, but holy cannoli did he ever grow on me. A lot. That yummy man is the best thing to ever happen to Cindy.

This book had me smiling from ear to ear. I can not wait for the other two books to come out. I do have say that I have a super duper giant size girl crush on Ariel. Most of her parts had me laughing my butt off. Oh how I wish everyone had a friend like Ariel. She's a certified badass!

I first read this authors Fool Me Once series so I’m well acquainted with her belly laughs mixed super sexy moments writing style and this did not disappoint. Now it’s a tad out there as far as something I can see happening in real life, but it also was just real enough that I totally bought it. Cynthia, Ariel and Belle’s business is unconventional, their methods of getting there extremely humorous and the road to their success is obviously twisty and bumpy but it’s a fun read. I loved PJ, that man was amazing and him and Cin together....hawt!! If you are looking for a light hearted read, with lots of laughs, like ale and intriguing secondary characters, and some hot hot moments pick this up and enjoy!! I can’t wait to see Belle and Ariel find love with the males I think are meant for them!

I received a copy from Netgalley. Will update as soon as I'm done, but I'm saying this right now this is the old Tara Sivec we know and love!! This book is just as funny as the Chocolate Series and I'm loving it!! Laugh out loud funny!

Such an awesome read for me since I’ve needed a good laugh. Cindy (haha), Ariel and Belle were the perfect combo of unexpected friends. I can’t wait for their stories as well. This was a great coming into yourself and realizing who you are story. No matter what happens that you can’t forget who you were and to have a good support system there to remind you of who you are. PJ is my new BB. Ahh he gave all the feels and especially in their sexy times. I’m glad we finally learned what PJ stood for at the end, it was so cute and wrapped up the book perfectly. You have to read this book. I love how Tara always has the chapter titles as well! And also how the girls had fairy tale names. This was just a delight to read!!

GAH! This book was everything I wanted and needed in my life. Tara Sivec has, once again, made my day! This book was so good, and so much fun to read that I literally started it and finished it in one day. I simply could not put it down. Readers, take note. This book is 100% original. I haven't read anything like it before. But it still has Tara's trademark humor and romance. That is what makes it so freakin GREAT. In addition to this, the heroine (Cynthia) and her gal pals (Belle and Ariel) are amazing. They are women after my own heart and I wanted to squeeze myself right into their group. True story, I want to be real friends with these fictional characters. Sigh.. I am sad the book is over but am SUPER excited for the next one in the series. >> READ THIS BOOK.

MORE ABOUT THE STORY

At the Stroke of Midnight is the first (hilarious) novel in the Naughty Princess Club series. Readers will meet three women, all crucial to each book (so I recommend reading it in order), who are bringing back their independence by starting their own business. Sure, this business is a little unconventional, but it brings in the money that they need to live the life they always dreamed of.

Cynthia (or Cin) is the main heroine in this book. When we first meet her she is a a bit stuck up and judgmental, but this is due to the loveless marriage and expectations set upon her. Thankfully, two other women who enter her life in a humorous way help her to come out of this shell that she is living in. What's even better about their budding relationship is that all three are finding that their friendship is healing them and helping them all to overcome barriers in their life and financial difficulties. So it's not just a book about building a business but of three women who are leaning on each other in a time of need. I really liked this quality of the book because it turns a mundane thing into something great.

Is there romance in this book? You bet! And it's the kind of romance that will make any girl swoon! I won't give anything away because I want readers to swoon on their own, but I will say that I fell as hopelessly in love with PJ as Cin did.

OVERALL THOUGHTS OF THE BOOK

I LOVED THIS BOOK. There was NOTHING about it that I didn't like and I have a feeling that I will be re-reading it right before the next one comes out (please hurry, I need it so badly!!!). I know that many readers are going to feel the exact same way as me too. So make sure to grab a copy. Just be aware, you are going to LAUGH. HARD. This book is right up there with her Chocolate Lovers series.

How Cinderella got her groove back on Fairy Tale Lane.   Another OMG laugh out loud first in the series from Tara Sivec. (Can be stand alone) Cythinia is the homeowners association head, PTA president, stick up her a$$ Queen of Fairy Tale Lane. Everyone wants to be her.... until she walks into her perfect home, she has tried to keep up for 13 years to divorce papers and an MIA husband and babysitter. She has no idea who she is without PTA, bake sales and her husband.   Enter Ariel, loud, crass and confident, who flat out tells Cin she knows her asshole of a husband far too well and slowly drags Cynthia out her shell and what she thought was her fairy tale life of escaping from the trailer park.   The two meet up with a 3rd Princess in arms Isabelle. Belle.  The shy bookworm librarian stuck in her father's basement.  The 3 set off on self discovery and showing the world they can be independent, strong woman... as strippers.  They have each others backs and take on the best of each others traits.  Cynthia discovers it's ok to cuss like a sailor, tell off those ex in laws and oh... you can kiss that hunk of a man PJ in your yard for all of Fairy Tale lane to gasp at.    PJ shows Cin she is capable, strong and worthy of being treated like a true Princess.    A great, funny tale of romance, self discovery and friendship.  Thanks Tara!  Amazon: https://goo.gl/uk5ckd My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book.

I am a huge fan of anything Tara writes. This book was no different. The writing style was spot on. The story kept me enthralled the whole time. I read it start to finish in one sitting.
Cynthia is in a tough situation that she has no way of getting out of.
Enter the "neighborhood slut" at least that's what the stuck up snobs in the neighborhood call her. Along with her is the shy and quiet bookworm Isabelle.
Together these ladies try coming up with ideas and plans to make some money. They fall in to the idea of being Strippers. It is a crazy ride that brings them in the path of PJ the hot as a grill on a summer night hero of this romance.
The crazy ups and downs will leave you reading till the end.
I CANT wait for the next two books!!!
Thanks Tara for another great book!!!

Another funny read from Tara Sivec, although this one has some sad moments. Cynthia's husband left her high and dry for the babysitter. She tried to hide everything from the prying gossiping hens of her town, but they all knew the truth.

Desperate to make a living, and with the backing of her new friends Cynthia learns to stand up for herself and to find love with a strip club owner. As if things aren't complicated enough, her douchebag husband comes back.

Whoah! First book in the series and my first full length Tara Sivec read. Guess what? I fricking loved it! It was funny (really funny), the characters were wonderful, the story was just perfect,
I was in my element throughout the whole story. A complete and utter real life Cinderella story. I adored all the main characters, Cynthia was a real life desperate housewife with that wonderful stick up her a$$. Left in the lurch when her good for nothing husband leaves her, she makes the best of a bad situation by befriending (not voluntarily I might add), the two people in the neighbourhood that least fit in. Loved the characters so much, the good, the bad, and the ugly. Can’t fault the writing or the story. I know no matter what, I’m going to be reading the next Book in the series. Although I’ve got to say, I have no idea how she will top this story. I was provided with an advanced copy of this book from the publisher via NetGalley. This is my honest review.

Cynthia prides herself on perfection. Even though she grew up in a trailer park with a stepmother who openly hated her, once she married Brian, the most important things in her life were her pearls, her PTA meetings, and her volunteer work. Then Brian disappeared. He ran off with the babysitter and left her and their daughter alone with no money and no plan. Now, her neighbors are getting suspicious, bill collectors are hounding her, and she needs to find some way to put food on the table, so she decides to toss aside her pearls and do the one thing she can: start stripping.

It isn’t easy. Cynthia’s become a little straight-laced over the years and forgetting everything her horrible mother-in-law taught her takes some work. But with the help of two friends and one grumpy (but gorgeous) man, maybe Cynthia can finally get back on her feet.

What can I even say about this book?! It’s my first by Tara Sivec and I certainly hope it’s not my last because I cannot wait for Belle’s story. The book was really well-written with great, even pacing... but I wasn’t totally convinced at the beginning. The thing is, PJ is the world’s biggest jerk (maybe second biggest if we include Brian). It took some time for me to stop seeing him as a jerk and start accepting him as Cynthia’s love interest. But once I did? Someone grab me a fan -- or maybe a bucket of cold water -- because he is some love interest. Wow!

I loved that throughout the book, there was absolutely zero slut shaming, zero derision directed toward stripping as a profession, and zero insinuation that PJ would somehow “save” Cynthia from the indignity of it all. Cynthia is proud to do this for herself and her daughter. She’s happy to have the control back in her life and honestly, it was so empowering! This is the first book I’ve read with a plot even remotely like this and I loved it so much.

Cynthia was a wonderful character, but I also fell in love with our other two main girls, Ariel and Isabelle. Ariel is bold, brash, and unabashedly herself. I can’t wait to read about her romance with (I’m guessing) Eric. Isabelle is this quiet, unassuming librarian who spouts off random facts when she gets nervous, and I am eagerly anticipating (like give it to me NOW) her romance with (again, guessing) Beast.

This was such a fun, funny, and empowering read. I highly recommend it.

At the stroke of midnight is an absolutely brilliant read, so funny with many laugh out loud moments, although underneath all this is a sad story.
Cynthia comes from a Cinderella type background and meeting and marrying a rich man after getting pregnant she turns into a 'stepford' type wife desperate to please her husband and the snobby neighbours. When he runs off with the babysitter and all the money she is left trying to maintain the illusion that all is well.
Enter Ariel a foul mouthed neighbour that pulls no punches and Belle a quiet shy librarian ruled by her father. Together they realise they need money to change their lives and concoct a plan to become pole dancers and strippers.
So starts their adventure, this books romps along, so enjoyable I devoured it, its wonderful to see Cynthia 'find' herself and grow in confidence.
I can't wait for the next in this series, Ariel needs her own story and from certain scenes I think the I can see the direction it will take.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for opportunity to review this book honestly

My Thoughts:
Tara Sivec has always been one of my favorite authors. I love her sense of humor in the books she writes. When I found out that she had a new book coming out this year, At the Stroke of Midnight, I knew I had to read it. Then I found out it was a fairy tale re-telling, and it got bumped up to one of my most anticipated books of 2018. I'm so glad I got a chance to read it. I loved it. It became my favorite Tara Sivec book of all time.

Not only is At the Stroke of Midnight my new favorite Tara Sivec book of all time. Out of the sixteen books I've read so far in 2018, it's my favorite book I've read. As I read more books, I still forsee it holding that title for quite some time. It was everything I wanted in the book. I don't know if it's correct to call it a fairy tale re-telling. The book is based on Cinderella, but the author takes the story of Cinderella and turns it into something completely new. She put her own spin on the story, which I loved. I think it made the storyline even better. I loved the main character, Cindy. She was so relatable. There were several times while reading the book that I thought "oh, we've all done that", or "I've definitely been in the position she's in". It made it easy to empathize with her, and to love her.

The book was also absolutely hilarious. I don't think I've laughed that hard while reading in a long time. Between Cindy learning how to get the stick out of her ass, Ariel's crudeness, and Belle's random facts at the most inopportune times sometimes, I was laughing so hard I was almost crying. The whole scene with what Ariel finds in the back of Cindy's closet had me laughing so loudly that I woke my husband up, and scared the hell out of him in the middle of the night when I was reading. I was practically howling from how hard I was laughing.

At the Stroke of Midnight proved once again why Tara Sivec is one of my favorite authors. She writes hysterical romantic comedies, with steam that just rolls off of the pages. I loved this book so much. Out of all the new releases I've read so far this year, if I could recommend that everyone read just one book this year, it would be this one. Last year was rough for me, and this book got this year off to a great start. I am dying to read the other books in the series. I think it will be amazing to read about the business from Ariel and Belle's perspective, especially Belle with how shy she is. I have a feeling those books will be great as well.

I give At the Stroke of Midnight: 5/5.

I like pretty much all of Tara's books, but this stuff right here? This is why I love her books.

At The Stroke Of Midnight is a bit of a spoof off of Disney Princess characters. It isn't done in a way that would have you rolling your eyes, I can see why some would think that. Most of the references are either ones you wouldn't pick up on if you were not paying attention or they are kinda thrown in as a joke with the character. I've read other books that have attempted this and I rolled my eyes the whole time reading them. I never once did that while reading it.

This book in the series is about Cindy (Cinderella) and her divorce with her husband and how she meets PJ  (the prince). She meets two other girls that help her find herself again and move on, they are Ariel and Belle. I just love Ariel because she is basically me. I just kept laughing the whole time because out of a group of friends, I am her. These girls decided to learn to become strippers to make enough money for what each of them need it for, they all have their reasons. Then it becomes them starting a business and finding their independence. It's witty, hilarious and flawless. I can't wait for the next book.

I loved Cindy and PJ's story and their chemistry together. He brought out the best in her and she needed that more than ever. I never felt it was a rebound for her, I really liked that. They were perfect for each other.

You want to read this. I couldn't put it down and right now, a few days later, I want to read it again already. LOVE IT!

This book was freaking hilarious. I went into this book completely blind. I have only read one other Tara Sivec book, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect, but I was completely impressed. I am pretty sure I laughed out loud during 90% of this book. The story line is completely original and intriguing and the characters are just down right awesome. This book was a great way to escape the day. While the book was extremely hilarious, it also had some serious components, and a strong message about strong women and picking yourself back up after life has let you down. I can see myself reading this book many times for the laughs alone. Well done!!!

Tara Sivec is the queen of adult comedy!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, nothing makes me laugh like Tara's romantic comedies.

"Okay, I get it now. If he had said it makes his frickle hard, that wouldn't have been as hot."

The characters are fun, real and crazy (in the best possible way)! The one-liners in this book had me laughing so hard I snorted. I love the ladies in this book. Cindy is strong-willed, ballsey and sexy but years of oppression force her into the mould of a prude. It takes a crappy wake up call, new friends and a man who lights everything on fire with his smoulder to give Cindy the push she needs to take back control of her life. And she does it in style!

"You will tell me everything about why you walked over here an hour ago just to talk business and suddenly I find you riding him like Seabiscuit."

Fans of Tara's Holiday's series will also be happy to spot the little Easter Egg from two of our favourite Holiday's characters in this book.

This book is perfect for anyone who needs a side-splitting laugh with a heavy dose of grin-inducing romance, a hero to swoon for and three badass leading ladies (plus the other awesome ladies in this book) who pack punches, kicks and more dirty talk than a ship full of sailors. Fans of Tara's Chocolate Lovers/Chocoholics Series and Jed Had to Die will devour this book!

"My God, you have eye chlamydia! See, I told you it wasn't an urban legend!"

If you love princesses, but wish they were a little more 'real' you need to read At the Stroke of Midnight! I can't wait for Belle to tackle the Beast in book number two!! I'll be over here still laughing at this book while I wait, and ordering myself a few tequila t-shirts ;)

GREAT READ! NOT GOOD READ! BUY BUY BUY BUY BUY! If I could give 10 stars I would!
WOW! What a wonderful story. I loved the characters, the plot, the way it unfolds. I love the humor, the passion, the romance. This author is one of the best I have read in some years. Her imagination is so wonderful that even with only the small amount of paranormal the rest just is enchanting. I absolute adore this book and to me it is a KEEPER! I would of thought in this series , that it would as many do, just be so so. She has amazed me making this book even better...

Every once in while, I'll have an opportunity to read an ARC for a book that I never would have read otherwise and end up finding a new favorite author. This is one of those books. I wasn't really sure if I'd like it when I initially met Cynthia because she's one of those uptight women that makes you cringe, but thank goodness I kept reading. Watching this gal break out of that mold that her ex-husband an in-laws tricked her into is an absolute delight. And PJ...holy smokes. That man could make any woman spontaneously combust. This book is full of laugh-out-loud moments. The chapter titles alone are snort-worthy. I absolutely loved Cyn's partners in crime, Ariel and Belle, and cannot wait for their stories. I'm not typically a reader of modern-day fairytales--in fact, this is my first--but this one was a riot, and I'm so glad I took a chance on something outside of my normal purview.

4.5, Find Your HEA, Stars!!

"Oh, sweet Jesus. I think we broke Princess Barbie."

"I never expected this. I never expected you."

Man, oh man, did I love this book!! At the Stroke of Midnight is fun, flirty and entertaining as hell. This is hands down one of the best fairytale re-tellings I have ever gotten my hands on!

What if Cinderella's story didn't go the way we all thought it would? What if her hea turned out to be nothing but a joke???? On the outside Cynthia is the perfect wife, perfect mother, perfect housewife. Only appearances can be deceiving and Cynthia is doing everything she can just to keep her head above water. Her marriage is in shambles and she no longer recognizes the woman she has become. And just when Cynthia thinks her life can't possibly get any worse, she gets a much needed reality check and finds friends in the most unlikely of places. Join Cynthia, Isabelle, and Ariel as they discover true themselves, friendship and most of all love...

At the Stroke of Midnight is Cynthia and PJ's story and I gotta tell you, this story knocked me off my feet. I wasn't sure what I was getting myself into in the very beginning, but it didn't take me long to lost in this fantastic story. This story is incredibly well written. The characters were a riot & the banter and chemistry were off the charts. I loved seeing Cynthia grow and come into the woman she was always meant to be. Ariel was an absolute riot and definitely the girl that you'd want to have your back. Yes, her and Cynthia's relationship may have started out rocky, but she more than proved herself. And then there is PJ. He frustrated me to no end. I didn't know if I wanted to hit him or swoon over him. He turned out to be just what Cynthia needed. He helped build her confidence, find herself and show her what it means to be loved and adored. These two together were all that and a bag of chips. I just couldn't get enough.

I don't know what else to say other than I loved this book. It was hilarious. It was swoon-worthy. It was sexy. It was entertaining as hell with just the right amount of drama. I couldn't pull myself away from this PJ and Cynthia's story. I think this series is off to a terrific start and can not wait for more! I definitely recommend checking this book out!

I couldn't put this one down. This book was Tara Sivec at her best. The witty banter had me laughing my butt off. Well written, funny as hell, a a great way to spend an afternoon. I loved everything about this storyline and all of the characters. I cannot wait for the rest of the stories.
