Roxy moves away from her difficult-to-take family to Hollywood to pursue the dream of becoming an actress. After some crazy events, she finds herself living in a tiny space with a wounded warrior and her dog. Then her mother moves in. So much for escaping the family! Roxy finally lands a part in a wilderness themed reality show, when her mother disappears just before rehearsals begin. This takes Roxy to Montana, where she and Madeline find themselves trapped in a life-or-death situation.

This is not just another book about a “wanna-be” actress. It is the story of mother-daughter relationships when the mother is showing signs of Alzheimer's. In addition, not to be forgotten, this is the story of a relationship with a dog. The story is well done. I enjoyed watching the main characters develop as well as the resiliency of these three women. There were some interesting twists and turn and a solid ending, tying everything in together. This is a good choice for someone who enjoys a fast-paced, entertaining read that brings more than the usual struggling actress and her aspirations out. I received this from NetGalley to read and review.

A cute story about someone trying to escape their troubles only to find that troubles have a way of finding you!

This book was not for me. I could not identify with the characters. I didn't end up finishing the book.

A funny and yet thought provoking book about what family really means and how to deal with what matters most. Twists, turns, obstacles and humor all come together to help sort out the relationship of a daughter trying to chase her career and a mother whose forgetfulness may really be something more.
Thank you for the opportunity to have read this book prior to publication--Ii thoroughly enjoyed it!

I thought this book started out slow and then picked up a bit but you had to remember who was who. Monica I did not like from the first her name was out and Ginn was hard to warm up to at first. James was fishy until the end but I still would have punched him in the throat a few times in the story. Poor Roxy she was too trusting I thought but I guess it worked out for her. Maddie was written pretty accurately most of the time. At the very end I thought this was a true story and it upset me that so many people acted so bad in this family but thankfully it was a novel Not sure I would recommend this book but I did finish it and I don't always if I don't like the book.

Roxy has her hands full....an apartment that she can't afford, she now has a roommate -- a woman who is blind and is a wounded warrior along with her dog. To make matters worse, her mother is now living with her, but she has problems, Early On Set Alzheimer Disease. A wanna be actress, Roxy is turned down at every audition. But wait, as things become more complicated, there is a silver lining as everything neatly wraps up in the end. All in all not the kind of book I was really looking for, but has some redeeming qualities. Thanks to NetGalley for providing this book in exchange for an honest review.
