I’ve enjoyed this author’s two previous works. I was excited to see what she was going to deliver next. Sadly this one just didn’t hit the mark for me. Unbelievable characters and transparent plot line detracted too much.

This is one of those kinds of thrillers that has a really interesting premise, but once you start breaking down how things would work logistically it doesn't end up making a whole lot of sense. It's hard to go into specifics without giving away the twists in the story. The author doesn't leave anything unanswered, but I'm not convinced that any of the answers are either logical or probable. That being said, I really do like this author and will definitely continue reading her novels.

Finn is getting on with his life 12 years after his girlfriend Layla disappeared from a truck stop in France on the trip home after a holiday. Cleared of any wrong doing, he is currently living with Layla’s sister Ellen and they recently decided to marry.
But the appearance of small Russian Dolls, which has significance from Ellen’s childhood, suddenly has Finn on edge....what really happened to Layla?

I started reading this book and was immediately drawn in. It was Finn saying a few times initially ‘It was the truth but not quite the whole truth’ that had me intrigued. In the first half of the book the chapters alternated as ‘Now’ and ‘Then’ and later they changed to ‘Finn’ and ‘Layla’. These were easy to pick up, never caused confusion and they nearly always ended on a teaser of sorts..... I just wanted to keep reading.
My mind was kept busy going all over the place with different scenarios, so I was never sure how things would turn out. I gave this book a rating of 4 solid stars, however this story did not have the same heart thumping moments for me as the authors first two books. Still a great read but not my favourite of hers.
Thank you to Netgalley and the Publisher for a copy to read.

Remember when everyone was screaming about Behind Closed Doors last year? And then soon after, Paris came out with The Breakdown and that also brought about a lot of discussion? I know there's a lot of mixed thoughts on both of these books and I have a feeling the same is going to happen with this one. I absolutely fell in love with Behind Closed Doors, read it in one sitting and the ending gave me literal chills. Then The Breakdown fell slightly flat for me. This one fell right in between these two and let me tell you why.

The concept isn't something that is very new to this type of genre: Guy loves woman. Woman goes missing and is said to be dead after so many years. Guy falls in love with said woman's sister. Past comes back to haunt them. It's the execution that makes this a fun read. Paris keeps her chapters short and hanging so you continuously keep turning the pages until you realize you've just finished the whole damn book. Genius. For this particular story, I caught on fairly early what the twist was going to be .... well, mostly. The twist ended up being a little bit of a different variation to what I was thinking but the same concept was there.

I did find myself getting utterly annoyed with the characters but I expect I'm supposed to. Again, COMMUNICATION people!! But when it comes to matters of the heart, communication is usually nowhere to be found (when things start to go haywire anyways). I think what got me in this story line is that even though I was certain where the book was going, as the main character kept questioning himself, I found myself doing the same.... I needed to know. Am I right? Am I wrong? DO I CARE either way?

There is definitely going to be some divisiveness with this book amongst the thriller readers, I think. As a shorter novel, there wasn't as much character development as in her other two books and does lull a bit in the middle. What worked for me, and why I ended up loving this more than I had initially though I would, is an ending that's not so happy. And that's not ruining anything, folks. You'll need to read to find out why and decide for yourself. B.A. Paris, you have a fan in me. AUTO BUY AUTO BUY AUTO BUY

One heck of a thrill ride. At times, I found myself holding my breath and simply couldn't turn the pages fast enough. Wow, just wow! Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this arc in exchange of an honest review.

Bring Me Back by B.A. Paris features the main character of Finn who had his girlfriend, Layla, disappear on him 12 years ago while they were on vacation. Fast forward to the present and Finn is now engaged to Layla's sister, Ellen. Though their relationship has raised some eyebrows Finn and Ellen are happily in love or so they think until all of a sudden it seems as though Layla might have popped up again. Written as a great thriller suspense novel be ready to lose some sleep finishing this book. Read and enjoy!

I'm a big fan of B.A. Paris' books, and this one was no exception. It was a heart-pounding, suspenseful ride. The alternating narrators had me flip-flopping, trying to figure out which one, if either, was reliable. I have always found there to be something creepy about Russian nesting dolls, and the way that these dolls were incorporated into the book added to that feeling for me.

Woah! This novel still has my head spinning. I have mixed feelings. The first quarter of the book I wasn't fully connected... then a twist came. And it hooked me! This novel kept me guessing. I really enjoyed it.

I had a negative reaction to this authors first novel BEHIND CLOSED DOORS it was one of the darkest books I can remember reading and I was upset about the use of a mentally disabled character being tortured. It felt wrong. But the sinister main character and the darkness showed me that Paris was the real deal when it came to writing thrillers !

THE BREAKDOWN Was one of my favorite thrillers of 2017. It was fast paced and just straight out a good thrilling page turner

This third attempt couples the sinister under tone and page turning thriller story.

Some readers may figure out the twist I couldn't. This will be a novel that stays with me and will definitely be reread and one of the best thrillers of 2018.

This book releases 2018 will fly from the shelf!

Bring Me Back was another success by one of my favourite new authors. This book had me guessing, second guessing and convinced I had it figured out more than once, only to be proven wrong and kept on the edge of my seat.

Bring Me Back had me flipping from one chapter to the next eagerly wanting to read what happened next and the ending took me totally by surprise!

12 years ago, Finn and her girlfriend, Layla, stop at a rest stop. He goes to the bathroom and when he returns to their car, he finds it empty, with no Layla in sight.

In present day, Finn is now engaged to Layla's sister, Ellen (what?!). One day, Finn comes home to find Ellen sitting with a Russian doll that previously Layla owned. What happened to Layla that night? Was Finn telling the truth? And if she is alive, what does Layla want from him?

The book goes back and forth between Finn in present day and Finn 12 years ago, from the day that he first met Layla. You can never fully truth Finn and I was constantly doubting him and hating him.

I loved the ending of the novel since it really threw me through a loop. I didn't see it coming at all!

I just finished this book a few hours ago and it is hard for me to write this review. I will start by making clear that I LOVE B.A. Paris. "The Breakdown" was the first book I read by her and it was good, then I went for "Behind closed dooor" and it was really, really good! Like, maybe my favourite book of the year. So my expectations with "Bring me back" were very hight.

I wasn't disappointed, it is a book I am happy to have read and I would maybe recommed it to the right kind of reader, but it's not as good as the previous ones. I had two major problems with it, to start with the writing style was more linear and the characterization not as deep as it was in the previous books, but that was counterbalanced by the fact that it was such a page-turner that I couldn't stop reading even while doing other chores!
The other thing that didn't convince me is about the ending so I can't tell it without spoilers. I will just say that there is some suspension of disbelief involved but I could manage with it. The problem is that the book is a little dark and sad, and if you are waiting for a diabolic and satisfying ending like in "Behind closed doors" you won't find it here. The ending made me feel sad, and I still am sad after some hours had passed! Anyway if you are in the mood for a melancholy thriller this is a very quick read that will probably stay with you for a long time. It's deliciously creepy, and the natural setting was very well done and very fitting.
I will still be eager to read anything B.A. Paris will write next!

Phew! That was a whirlwind. B. A. Paris has done it again! Every book I’m lucky enough to read of hers, has so many twists and turns that my head is on backwards. I kept thinking I knew what was going on, and who was in on it, and I was always wrong. Then when I finally knew The Who, I was completely blown away with the how and why! Please keep on writing, and I will keep on reading your books! I’m so glad that Net Galley picked me to read this early and review. I will begin pushing , I mean, recommending this book immediately.

This was my first B.A Paris novel, and really had no expectations. So my opinion is unbiased.
There were a few moments towards the end, I felt were a bit cheesy. But the overall storytelling and experience was a good one.

Great read if you love a good mystery without scooby doo. I would fully recomend this to others. Great plot.

I didn’t have as much enthusiasm for this book as some other reviewers. It does start out strong. The premise is that twelve years ago, Finn’s girlfriend went missing at a rest stop on their way from a trip to Paris back to England. Now that he’s engaged to be married to someone else, suddenly there are clues that maybe his ex-girlfriend wasn’t kidnapped/murdered as Finn and the cops initially thought.

There’s all sorts of page-turning suspense for the first half of the book. You don’t know who to believe, which of course is what makes this kind of book fun. Then, for me, the middle got dull, and the ending was a good twist, but I didn’t buy the execution of how it was revealed, and I can’t tell you why lest I ruin the surprise.

Thanks so much to NetGalley for the opportunity to review this novel, which RELEASES JUNE 19, 2018.

I received an ARC of this novel from Netgalley in exchange for my review. Finn and Layla are on vacation in France, when Layla mysteriously disappears at a rest area. It has taken Finn years to move on, but finally he has formed a relationship with Ellen, Layla's sister-in fact they have decided to get married. So is it just pre wedding jitters when Finn starts finding items around the house that could only remind him of Layla? Or is it something more sinister?

B. A. Paris keeps the suspense coming in this novel! I enjoyed all the twist and trying to figure out what was coming next. I would have given the story five stars if I were a little more invested in the characters, but because I wanted to keep reading, I gave it four stars.

I had high hopes for this one as I loved the authors first book. While I found myself compelled to keep turning the pages with this one, I didn’t care very much for the characters. The author does a good job of creating suspense, but I figured out some stuff early on but kept reading to see if I would be correct in my assumptions. Bring Me Back would be perfect for those new to the genre, but I’ve read so many now that it takes a huge effort for me to love them anymore. Good effort, and it kept me reading but just not great!

BRING ME BACK is the latest thriller from B.A. Paris. I loved her previous novels, so I was really excited when I got approved for this one.

Finn and Layla are a young couple on a road trip in France. At a bathroom rest stop, he goes in and comes back to find her missing. After searching everywhere, he gets the police involved. She is never found.

12 years later, Finn has moved on, and is engaged to Ellen...Layla's sister. After the engagement announcement hits the papers, someone leaves something at their house...something that only Layla would have knowledge of. Could it be that she's making contact after all of this time?

This was a great, suspenseful novel that kept me wanting to read more. The questions keep building, leading to what I thought would be a huge climax. I honestly felt a little let down by the ending. It just wasn't what I expected, and wasn't sure how much I believed it. Still, it's a good book to add to the psychological thriller collection, and it's a very fast-paced read.

Thanks to HQ, B.A. Paris and NetGalley for an ARC of this book.

I’ve read B.A Paris’s previous two novels, so I went into this knowing things weren’t going to be as they seemed. That being said, This novel still took my breath away. I don’t want to give too much away, and I will expand on this review once the book is published.
What I can say is this might be my favorite book by Paris. (And I LOVED Behind closed doors and the breakdown) . I love how Paris’s writing style has evolved and right off the bat in this one, I liked the characters and really wasn’t too sure where I was going. What I really REALLY liked was the strange coincidence that as soon as I thought I figured out the twist the very next page nixed that idea. It was almost like Paris was anticipating the readers thoughts throughout the book. Great read! Paris once again does not disappoint!
Thanks so much to Netgalley for a ARC copy of the book.
