Two moms and two sons become friends in a small English town. But when tragedy strikes the small town and then later the boys become injured, secrets start coming to the surface. While I enjoyed the twists and well crafted story, the epilogue went too far. I didn't want to know that. I didn't need to know that. And it completely took away from the story for me. I understand that some of this need for more and more twists and turns has been the product of readers praising them, but sometimes they can be overkill. (And I think I wrote the same thing about another book a couple months ago.) It's like jewelry. Put it all on and then remove a piece. Maybe twists in thrillers need to be the same way?
