I have loved Jennifer Gracen’s The Harrison family series from the start and at the end of the last book, I did something I rarely do and read an excerpt from It Might Be You mainly because I was confused, as there were only four Harrison children and obviously a fifth book was in the works. Ms. Gracen managed to throw her readers and The Harrison family for a loop with her “secret baby” book, only the “baby” in question was a 29 year old man and the answer to The Harrison family’s prayers. This book had two sides with the hero meeting and being integrated into a family he never knew and because of that meeting a woman who affects his like no other. This book had it all; betrayal, excitement, secrets, acceptance, heartbreak, but most of all strength of family and love.
After agreeing to be a bone marrow donor to a child he’s a match for, Nick Martell finds out that for years his mother has lied to him and the child in question is actually his nephew. The intricate plot surrounding this book made it unique and just about made my head explode and honestly it hooked me right away. I loved Nick and the way he approached what he was doing and the fact he agreed to be a donor even before he realized he was related to the child. It was clear he felt the “class difference” between his half siblings even after the initial shock wore off and they set out to prove they wanted to get to know him. What I loved about this book was it really showcased the personalities of the four Harrison siblings; Charles the stoic somewhat brash oldest, Dane the strong, silent, somewhat aloof brother, Tess the only girl and the peacemaker, and Pierce the rule breaking undisciplined youngest. Despite how their lives had changed as they fell in love and married, we see them for better or worse in the roles they’ve always played. I have to say I loved how easily Pierce accepted Nick from the start which was so like him and how Tess just wanted to make sure everyone from Nick to her brothers and even their a$$ of a father were okay. It was interesting watching him interact with his new found siblings, but never forgetting his mother, the father who raised him, and his half siblings he left in Miami to go to New York to help his nephew. I adored his relationship with Myles, one that is special in more ways than one including the fact that Myles illness led him to meet Amanda Kozlow, one of his nurses.
There was no denying the heat and attraction between Nick and Amanda from the beginning and so it was no surprise they wound up sharing a night of passion neither one could forget. I liked these two as people and as a couple, but their lack of communication skills drove me a wee bit crazy. Nick is a policeman and Amanda is a nurse and I would have expected them to be able to communicate effectively and also he fairly level headed, but over and over these two flew off the handle at one another, stalked off, and made assumptions. I felt they failed at communicating with one another and over time it got a bit old and made me question how they’d make it long term and in a romance that makes it hard for me to accept the pairing. That being said, this was a very good book and I did love it; I just felt it needed a few tweaks to make it an excellent book.
Passionate, joyful, radiant, hopeful and loving all describe It Might Be You and Ms. Gracen wrapped up this series with great style and flourish.
When Officer Nick Martell learns that a sick child needs his help, he flies to the young Harrison boy’s side. But once in the heart of the wealthy Harrison family, Nick faces a shocking truth—he is none other than a Harrison son himself, born of a secret affair. Though the blue-collar bachelor struggles to accept the elite clan as his own, compassion for the vulnerable boy compels him to stay. That, and the deep spark of connection he feels for the child’s beautiful nurse. Amanda Kozlov never felt such a strong and sudden passion for a man before. But falling for Nick is not an option—the life the rugged cop leads is too dangerous, the wounds he carries from his explosive family history too fresh. Yet watching Nick bond with the young boy in her care, experiencing tenderness in his arms, Amanda longs to take a chance on the one man who could save the Harrison heir—the only man with the power to shatter her heart. And as drama swirls around them, only time will tell if they’re brave enough to give their love the future it deserves.
This was a sweet read that was fairly quick to get through. I liked the characters and the plot. It kept moving at a good pace. I recommend.
**I voluntarily read and reviewed this book
Jennifer Gracen's It Might Be You was such a sweet book. I loved reading more about the Harrison family and watching the relationship between Nick and Amanda grow.
Nick is a hero. Not because he is a Detective in the police department but because he is willing to donate his marrow to a little boy that he doesn’t even know. Well, maybe he doesn’t know them but there is a very good reason that his marrow is a match to this boy. I love this twist. Sure, I knew it was coming. It wasn’t a surprise but it was perfect. The fact that he ends up related to the boy only endears him to me even more. With all the drama, and oh was there drama, surrounding the fact that he is a long lost Harrison he never lets it get between the real reason that he is in New York.
Then he meets Amanda. Everything he thought he knew about love gets twisted around. She pushes, she pulls, and she retreats in reaction to his tough, alpha exterior. But she is perfect for him. If only they would both open their eyes are realize it. They both need to get over themselves and open their hearts to a love so perfect that it would be so sad to not accept it.
It Might Be You is a love story. There is romance, there is heat, there is love but it is also a family story. A story of finding a piece of yourself that you didn’t know was missing, a story of finding out the truth about yourself, and a story of opening your heart to love.
This is a story that is perfect with a mug of hot cocoa and cuddled under a warm blanket.

Amanda has dedication her life to take care of other people and rarely takes time for herself. When she meets Nick she feels an instant spark or connection. Amanda has always sworn to herself that she will never date a first responder because she would be to worried about them getting injured .Will she put her rule aside and admit that the sparks with Nick could lead to something?
I read this book as a standalone, I would recommend reading the other books first to get a better understanding of what’s going on. But it still was an excellent book to read
From the first page it pulls you in, having turning pages rapidly to see how things come together. The romance and life plays out and how the family plays out. Yes I did start with the last book and I would go back myself and read the others first and this book again myself, it is a very addictive book.
I received an arc from Netgalley. This book had a lot of twists and turns. Nick and Amanda were a cute couple .
2.5ish Stars
Jennifer Gracen bought the drama llama for this one. Geesh…
Nick Martell has gotten the shock of his life. After being contacted by a national bone marrow registry, he learns the young boy he’s a match to donate to happens to be his nephew. Apparently, his biological father is Charles Harrison II, an extremely wealthy and well-known man in New York.
Amanda Kozlov is a home health-care nurse who works for Charles Harrison III. His young son Myles is very ill and under constant medical care until a bone marrow transplant can take place. Amanda is on duty from early afternoon until nine at night - and even though she knows she needs to keep a professional distance, she’s come to care deeply for Myles and is thankful to be working for the Harrisons.
When Nick and Amanda meet, there’s an instant attraction between them. But neither of them is in a good place emotionally - Amanda is continually concerned about Myles, and Nick is reeling from meeting the family he never knew about (including the father who is horribly emotionally abusive). Their time together is a respite from all the negative in their lives. But it’s also a recipe for an incredibly volatile relationship.
While I give the author props for not having the whole story (and their whole relationship) built around how hot they were for each other (as was my complaint about book two in this series), these characters behaved like teenagers. One would make an off-hand comment that would offend the other, and the offended person would storm off. The offender would reach out, the offended would ignore them for a couple days. Wash, rinse, repeat. It reminded me of all the high-school drama of my teenage daughter and her friends that I listened to while driving carpool. Only our heroine was 32 and our hero 29. And I have little patience for that kind of behavior in people who are supposed to be adults. Add in them both lamenting - frequently - about how there is no way they can be together because he lives in Miami and she lives in New York (because apparently no one is ever allowed to relocate), and I simultaneously wanted to gag and roll my eyes.
This story could have been so, so good. Nick meeting the Harrisons was interesting and compelling. The Harrison clan isn’t all warm and fuzzy - the two oldest brothers are cynical and prickly, trying to protect their family from a person who may come in and make a claim on the Harrison fortune. The father is downright awful. The part of the story where Nick and his new siblings are getting to know each other and deal with their father was really good. And Nick and Amanda’s relationship could have been really sweet. They both needed someone to be an ally for them during this emotionally strenuous situation. Instead, they just added more angst and drama.
I was cautiously optimistic about this final book in the Harrisons series. I’ve read Jennifer Gracen before - her McKinnon Brothers series was really good. But the two books I read in this series couldn’t have been more disappointing. I read romance books because I want to read about the relationship between the hero and heroine - and there didn’t seem to be any redeeming qualities to the relationships in the two books I read. And the other three books? I haven’t any desire to read them. In fact, there was a bonus novella about the couple from book two (which is the other one from this series I read!) and I didn’t read it - read about five paragraphs and decided I was done with the Harrisons.
I’ll give Jennifer Gracen a try again, but these last two books of hers I read were a big miss for me. And that makes me sad.

I went into this book thinking it was the first book in the series I had read, but when I went to leave this review I realized that wasn't the case. I had read the last book in this series without realizing that the characters from that book was integrated in this one. There wasn't enough about the sister's past for me to tie the two stories together.
That said, I really enjoyed this story. It was a unique twist to see how the long lost brother was going to come into the family and how he was going to be received. When I first started reading I was a little confused as to who the romance was going to be with given that Nick was walking into his family's home and therefore was related to everyone he knew in NYC.
But the in comes Amanda; I love how she was the rock that he needed through an incredibly difficult time. Not only was it a difficult medical procedure but meeting a family he didn't know existed until a few days before he left was an added burden. Amanda was an amazing support for him in a new world with new people and incredibly high expectations.
I loved how the author didn't assume that the reader knew the back story of the family and especially the father's back story. I loved hearing more about the siblings and thought the author spent a good deal of time building each character's personality and bond with Nick.
Really sweet story of a reunited family and a sweet romance. Very cute.
It Might Be You is the fifth book in Jennifer Gracen’s The Harrisons series, although it can be read as a standalone novel. Despite how it does work as a standalone, I read it as such, I do believe it works better if you have a better understanding of the series before entering this one. While I did enjoy this one, I feel as though I would have appreciated certain things more had I read the prior books and knew more about the characters. What I found out about them throughout this book was a lot of fun, but I feel as though I was missing out on some of the smaller things that would have made more scenes and had a bigger impact to those who have read the series in order.
It Might Be You is predominantly a romance story, but there is plenty of other elements throughout to keep you hooked to the story. There is plenty of drama, there are emotional aspects, and plenty of other goodies that will leave you sucked into this story. It’s one of those romance reads that reflect real life, offering up hope in more ways than one. In other words, it’s not just a romance story – it’s a story of life, and the good and bad that come with it.
From the very first page this one pulls you in, throwing you straight into the story. You’ll be turning pages at a rapid pace, desperate to see how everything comes together – how the romance plays out, how the family life plays out, and how the heavier topics play out. There are so many elements that will leave you engaged, so many aspects you find yourself addicted to. All in all, it’s an addictive read throughout.
Although I started at the end of the series with this one, I am now more than willing to go back and read the prior books – preferably in order this time.
4.5 stars
It Might Be You by Jennifer Gracen is a beautifully written and heartfelt romance and I loved it.
From the first few pages I was hooked, the storyline was entertaining, emotional and I found myself reading it in one sitting as I couldn't put it down.
Nick and Amanda were likable, relatable characters that I found myself connecting with and I loved watching them come together.
And finally the epilogue was a beautiful and touching way to say goodbye to this very enjoyable series.
It Might Be You is a wonderful addition the The Harrisons series, each book can be read as a standalone and I highly recommend them all.

It Might Be You by Jennifer Gracen
The Harrisons #5
Nick Martell is on the bone marrow registry list and is called in as a match for a young boy living in New York. Without a qualm he agrees to take time away from work in Miami and head up for more testing. Just before he leaves he finds out he is actually related to Myles…yes…his mother had an affair with the boy’s grandfather and now Nick has not only a cousin to save the life of BUT half-siblings and a family he didn’t even know existed. At first he is a bit overwhelmed and then when his half-siblings meet him they are, too.
One of Myles’s nurses is Amanda. She is a great nurse but she has a tendency to “turtle” any time things get tough, she gets afraid, is upset – yes – she hides or runs or gets angry or mouthy or defensive and Nick is usually on the receiving end. I liked them together EXCEPT Amanda rubbed me the wrong way a few times. That is not all there is to her, though, so when she finally comes to grips with the idea that she and Nick could have a future she manages to go for it.
What I liked:
* Nick – what a sweetheart
* Myles – a charming young man I really wanted to see healed
* The Harrison siblings – great people that pulled together and took Nick under their wings once they got over their surprise/shock
* Nick’s mother, the man she married that is his “true” father and his sisters
What I didn’t like:
* Charles Harrison II – the sperm donor – was a sh*t to his family…all of them…especially Pierce and Nick
* Amanda’s quick temper and ability to take something said by Nick that most would not be offended by and make Nick feel guilty then apologize
Thank you to NetGalley, Kensington Books – Zebra and Barclay Publicity for the ARC – This is my honest review.
3-4 Stars
I enjoyed this book.
I liked the story and the characters but this wasn't one that I just couldn't put down.
I do recommend this book .
For me this story was just okay. The plot was intriguing and the author set up the first couple chapters really beautifully. But the story felt SO long. It was as though I spent most of the book waiting for something --anything--to happen. I was satisfied with the way things played out but there were times I skimmed just to get to some action.
It really made me sad to think that this was the last of the Harrison stories. I got it, you can only have so many lost brothers or sisters running around out that before you stop and think...really? So after this one brother was discovered it was enough.
As sad as I was because I was really enjoying this family, the author did a wonderful job of how she ended the series. She tied everything up and left you with the knowledge that the Harrison's were going to be okay.
I was both shocked and happy when it turned out that there was a younger brother to the Harrison clan that no one knew about other then Nick's mother that is. Of course that opens us up to the dilemma of what his mother did. She keep him from his other side of his family. I got her reasons, truly I did, but I also understood why he was so pissed about it.
Hell, I even understood why Charles the second was pissed and I can't stand that man.
I really liked Nick and worried about how he was going to be treated by his family. I really shouldn't have. Other then his father, the rest came to understand that he had no control over not know anymore then then did and he wanted nothing from them.
He was there only to help the nephew he didn't know and maybe connect with his brothers and sister, and to fall for Amanda even when he wasn't looking for a romance. Who would so far from home?
Most of the time I liked these two together but at other times I wanted to slap Amanda. She treated him so unfairly and put things on him that he hadn't done. She made more out of everything he did that she didn't like. Okay, maybe I didn't care for her as much as I thought.
I just felt at times she wasn't fair to him and for no good read what so ever. Of course in the ended they worked through everything and found their HEA but...I was still just okay with her. Love Nick though.
I really liked how the author ended the story and moves she made. I want to say more but you should read it for yourself. It will all be worth it. Now that she's done with this series and can't wait to see what's next.
This is a new author to me as I’ve not read anything by her before but I did like the cover on the book and the blurb which I why I gave this book ago. I really enjoyed reading this book from start to finish. Has such a sweet and wonderful romance story that really pulls on your emotions while reading and I totally loved it. It made me feel everything the characters where feeling and going through as you read there story. The author has done a really great job with this book and I will be on the look out for future books. I would recommend
An interesting and compassionate tale of sacrifice.
In It Might Be You (The Harrisons #5) written by Jennifer Gracen, published under the Zebra brand. Was one of those books that made think over my personality. Either I am seriously emotional, or this author just has a way with words.
Nick Martell a worthy man with a cause. When he learns that he is a match for a child who needs a transplant. He didn’t realize that his life would change forever. In just one day, he learns that his life was all a lie and there was only one reason he was a close match to a child that he never met. You see, Nick Martell was none other than a Harrison himself. Shocker to say the least of how he felt after finding out this secret. Struggling to come to terms with what he learned, and the knowledge that he learned on the Harrison he still is willing to help the boy that now is family.
It Might Be You, a delightful story with an above average, easy to follow plotline. Well written character and romance that was very suited to the genre of contemporary romance. What I really enjoyed the most was the interaction between Nick and his nephew. Those scenes are the ones that had me reaching for tissues, which I later realized I might need after the first introduction to the character of Myles.
Will I recommend this story: Yes. It Might Be You was well written and most certainly a keeper. And with the mile but settle push, to becoming an Organ Donor. If I could give this book more than 5 stars I would.
5 star review of It Might Be You (The Harrisons #5) by Jennifer Gracen
This is the final book in The Harrisons series and what a fitting way to end the series.Jennifer Gracen is a relatively new author to me and although I have only read one previous book in The Harrison series, I had no trouble diving in to It Might Be You.
Imagine finding out that you are a Harrison, the result of a secret affair? What would you do? That is the position that office Nick Martell find himself in when he is asked to help a sick child.
Amanda Kozlov is the nurse charged with looking after Myles. She fights her attraction for Nick who is struggling to come to terms with his new found family. Will Amanda be prepared to take a chance that Nick could be “the one” or will she flee? Will Nick decide to risk it all for love?
The writing was strong and the characters were awesome. I really liked the tough yet vulnerable side to both Nick and Amanda and that once they decided to jump in, they gave it their all.
This was an emotional roller coaster of a ride, one that had me tearing up at times. I knew dealing with a sick child who needs a bone marrow transplant was going to tug at my heart strings but such is the writing of Jennifer Gracen that you couldn’t help but be drawn into the story she wove. I was so invested in this story I couldn’t put it down.
4.5 Stars for book 5 in The Harrison’s Series, It Might Be you, I’m late to the party in this series and I have only read the last two books but that hasn’t meant these books are any less enjoyable, it does mean I need to find the time to read the rest of the series and that I need to check out Jennifer Gracen’s other books.
Police Officer Nick Martell learns about a sick little boy and he doesn’t think twice about helping him but once he is in the heart of the wealthy Harrison family he finds out he is none other than a Harrison himself and that is why he was a match for the bone marrow transplant needed to help Myles Harrison. Nick is not interested in the Harrison family apart from Myles and as he spends time with the little boy and one of his nurses Amanda feelings start to come into play not only does he find himself growing attached to his nephew he finds himself falling for Amanda. The problem is she lives in New York and he lives in Miami can they make it work, can Nick accept he has two families at different ends of the East Coast well I guess you need to read the book to get the whole story.
Once again another beautifully written love story, a journey that wasn’t easy there are lots of hurdles to cross for this couple to get their HEA, sickness, a new family Nick knew nothing about as well as Amanda’s phobia of getting involved with a Police Officer. This is a romance with lots of twists and turns, it’s hot, it’s sad and at times it will bring a grin to your face so if you love a good romance I suggest you one click this brilliant series.
