Love this addition to the series! Lee is busy, busy in this one. She is maid of honor for a former student and has a new job, but witches are dying in town. Is it murder, a curse or just accidents? Also, it seems the town has been taken over by crows.

Lee has really come into her own in this one. She is dealing with her visions better and her relationship with Pete is such a stable, loving influence. O'Ryan and Aunt Ibby are both great supporting characters. Can't wait to see what is next for the series!

This is one of my favorite cozy mystery series. I read my first Witch City book when it was chosen for one of my book club’s October read. I was instantly hooked. It Takes a Coven is the sixth in the series and does not disappoint! If you haven’t read the others in the series, I highly recommend you do, but this book can absolutely stand on its own. The setting is perfect (Salem, Mass.) and the characters are interesting and colorful. Best of all, the plot is bewitching (pun intended!). There are so many twists and turns and a possible city wide curse which keeps the reader turning the page. I don’t want this series to ever end! I received an advanced reader copy provided to me by the publisher through NetGalley, which did not affect my rating. I have provided an unbiased and honest review.

I am thoroughly enjoying this witchy-cozy-sassy series set in, where else, Salem. Lee Barrett is a scryer with a clairvoyant cat and a lover of fast cars! The recurring characters are a fun bunch of the witch and non-witch variety. I especially like the way new characters get introduced into each book as a consequence of her changing career. It feels natural as opposed to the way some authors introduce an Agatha Christie type group never to be seen again in the series. My only complaint is Pete, the boyfriend, who is entirely too perfect. He needs to pout, or have unsavory friends, or drop potato chip crumbs on the carpet, or hog the shower or do something less than perfect! Maybe he's just a grown up 21st century Ned Nickerson (for those of you who cut your mystery teeth on Nancy Drew). You don't have to read the series in order to enjoy this book but I can almost guarantee if you read this one you'll want to read the others. Enjoy!

One of my favorite series, so happy to see it continues, witches and Salem are always a fun read and I enjoyed all the descriptions that bring back memories of my trip there. Lee is such a strong character that its a joy to follow her story. So glad some of the newer characters in the series got to continue. As always as fantastic book.

I've been a big fan of this series since the first book.
I love reading about witches and since I was born in Massachusetts, I love reading about Salem.
This book has everything I look for in a cozy mystery. The protagonist is a strong, likeable character, the secondary characters are all colorful and fun and the story itself kept me reading way past my bedtime.
Lee Barrett is a fun character and I feel like I would know her if I met her.
This story is well written and the plot was intriguing.
Reading about the crows and the two deaths was interesting and was so descriptive that I could picture it in my head.
I was glad to see Aunt Ibby have a bigger appearance in this book, I think she is a strong character that brings out the best in Lee.
I'm excited to see what's in store for Lee and Pete, I think they make a terrific pair.

I voluntarily read an ARC of this book provided by the publisher and NetGalley.

This is the first Witch City Mystery I’ve read and while I enjoyed it as a stand alone I believe it would have been a richer experience had I read the ones that came before. Author Carol Perry handles the paranormal elements very effectively and believably. Witches are being murdered in Salem, and Lee Barrett has a special skill that may help solve these crimes. She lives with her Aunt Ibby, teaches TV production, and cares for O’Ryan, the cat who just moved in with them after his previous owner died. Her boyfriend is police detective Pete Mondello. And they are all involved in trying to find the murderer.

Ms. Perry’s creative mix of paranormal activities with good detecting makes for an engaging read. Some twists involve a little magic while others involve plain investigating. I really like reading skillfully written fiction about witches and the paranormal so it has been a real pleasure to discover Ms. Perry’s Witch City series.
I look forward to more.

I still remember the first time I held the Witch City Mystery book in my hand and fell in love with the cover, and everything about the series. I am a huge fan of Carol J. Perry and her Witch City Mysteries. I feel right at home in them. Absolutely love the characters, the setting is perfectly described and the main character Lee is spectacular. This book is very relatable for me, and Lee, as a character is one of my most favorite, I feel like she and I could be great friends. We seem to have so much in common, I feel like if I could get her to switch from coffee to tea we could even be sisters. I series like this doesn't come along often and when you feel like the series is one you could pick up and move into without missing a beat you know you have found a truly wonderful and special book. This book feels like the first one, with all the magic and charm I found to be so outstanding in the first book. This book is the perfect blend of a paranormal cozy and wonderful whodunit! I anxiously await the release of another in this series. This is so well done and a series I treasure. This book is published by Kensington and is book 6, out February 27.

I am a fan of this series and had high expectations that were met.
It was really enjoyable and read it in one settings. The paranormal part, stronger that in the previous books, was interesting and there were no plot hole and it kept guessing til the end.
The development in the relationships amongst the characters was well described and the descriptions of Salem make me wish to live in the town.
Strongly recommended.
Many thanks to Netgalley and Kensington Books

I loved this book! Lee lives in Salem and is best friends with a local witch. Lee has always been a scryer, since long before she knew what the word meant. While she is still resistant to it, she is facing it head on, even when a long dead witch communicates with her through scryed images. Pete is her police detective boyfriend who shows a remarkable acceptance of Lee's ability and is very supportive of her. As Lee sees images, they seem to intersect with a case that Pete is investigating, which leads to Lee getting a bit more involved. What follows is a fun murder mystery filled with plenty of witchcraft.

While I've enjoyed all the books in this series, this one might be my favorite thus far. I love how Lee and Pete's relationship has evolved and grown over the series. Fans of the genre will want to put this one at the top of their TBR list. The author is on my must read authors' list.
