This is my first book by Lora Leigh, and won't be my last!
I enjoyed the way Ms. Leigh wrote the prologue! That definitely sucked me right into the book!
I loved the story line and her writing (although at times it was slightly confusing on whos POV it was, and then abruptly jumped scenes in a couple parts...nothing too serious, though) The concept of the characters was fantastic, and intriguing.
Collision Point is the first book of a new series, Brute Force. This story is of Riordan “Rory” Malone and Amara Resnova. Amara is kidnapped, and beaten, and loses a year of her memory...the time when she and Riordan were involved, unbeknownst to her father. As Amara begins to remember things, she wonders if it is remembering or dreaming. Can Riordan help her to regain their relationship now that it is out in the open?

Entertaining with a suspenseful plot. Riordan and Amara are good characters. I felt the story flowed smoothly and was enjoyable. There were some twists that I didn't see coming. Since Amara's abduction, she has no memory of what happened. Riordan won't leave her side till he finds out who's after her. I enjoyed the mix of suspense and heat and will definitely read the next one.

Riordan Malone almost lost his life rescuing Amara Resnova, his lover and charge, from her father’s enemies and has spent the last six months getting back to 100% without a word from her. Now she’s back at Riordan’s door, asking for help, because it appears someone is still after her. Riordan’s more than a little upset that Amara turned away from him but won’t turn her away when she’s in need.

Amara can’t remember the last year of her life, but she’s has vivid nightmares of death, and haunting erotic dreams of a man she discovers to be Riordan Malone, a man who was once her bodyguard. Odd occurrences and accidents start happening, and Amara just knows she’s in danger all over again. She has only shadowy memories of him, but her instincts tell her Riordan is the one to help her, a man she can trust to protect her. What she doesn’t expect is the animosity rolling off him when they meet.

Collision Point was an entertaining read, one that held my attention until the end, but not without some issues for me. The story was heavy on sexy times, which as a romance junkie I do appreciate, but it was to the point that it interrupted the pacing and urgency of the mystery. Also, the writing was a bit distracting. Long sentences had me reading and rereading to get the meaning. Some of the descriptions of the sex were too wordy and had me cringing, at times. Even so, the book was still pretty darn hot, with a lot of sizzling sexual tension between Amara and Riordan!

Even with the above issues, I couldn’t put the story down. I suspected the reasons Amara lost her memory, but I wanted to see how it all worked out. Also, I wanted a happy ending for Amara and Riordan.

3.8 Stars
A pulse-pounding suspense that gets your blood pumping and your heart racing
I enjoyed the plot line and the characters
Amara has lost her memories but she knows something is not right - Rory feels safe - following her instinct she turns to him for protection
The story was well written - presented in a way that made it easy to follow yet kept the mystery and intrigue
I did find that the relationship between our H/h was a bit lacking
This may have been because it was pre-established - do not get me wrong the intimacy between them is quite steamy - for me, I just felt that there was an element lacking
This is a spin-off of the Elite Ops series there is a cameo appearance from a previous character - but overall it is a new series
The plot is a bit eccentric but it does make the story a little more entertaining
Would recommend for those who enjoy a good thriller/mystery

I couldn’t it wait to read this book because it was a spinoff of the Elite Ops series. This book chronicles Rory and Amara’s love story and how they come together. Rory is a member of the Brute Force Protection Agency and Amara is the daughter of an alleged crime lord. Rory and Amara have a blossoming relationship when she was ripped from Rory and held captive. An event has Amara losing her memory of their relationship and she looks to Rory to keep her safe not knowing the history they have together. She eventually gets snippets of memory but she doesn’t know if she’s dreaming or it’s really a memory. Will Rory be able to protect Amara from the people that want her dead?

Great start to the series. I can’t wait for the continuation.

Collision is the first book in the Brute Force series by Lora Leigh! If you have read her Elite Ops series you will recognize some of the characters that show up in this series. You can, however, read this series without reading the other one.
Riordan is Nathan’s brother (Elite Ops) and is the personal bodyguard for Amara and involved in the security for her family under the scrutiny of her father. Circumstances in the past separate them, but they fight to find each other again not just physically, but emotionally. It is definitely challenging when Amara can’t remember the last year of her life.
This story is full of deception, family intrigue, hot steamy sex and a mystery to solve! This is definitely a must-read!

I have never read a Lora Leigh book before, but I was excited to get stuck into this book, after reading the synopsis. But I will have to say, that even though the synopsis is geared towards Riordan, the Eliete operative, who takes care of Amara, the daughter of a Russian mobsters, but the story actually is more focused on Amara, with a whole bunch of shocking surprised that are rolled in.

I actually really enjoyed the book, but in parts it was very fasted, and I stuggled to keep up with the plot, so I urge you not to read it fast. But on the whole, the story was great, the characters were intriguing, and I for one, am looking forward to the next book in the series!

I give Collision Point 4 stars.

OMG another book by Lora Leigh I could not put down. I think I read it in 24 hours because it was so good I just couldn’t stop reading. This is book 1 of the Brute Force series, a continuation of the Elite Ops series. It was nice seeing characters from the original series that I remembered. Lots of twists and turns throughout and I did not see them coming. I can’t wait until the next book is released!

This book was my first by Lora Leigh. The story is on the dark, erotic and gritty side and I was prepared for that. I liked the premise of the story. The storytelling was a bit slow and repetitive at times, but it was unpredictable and suspenseful.

Amara and Riordan’s story is one with many bumps along the way. They were likeable characters, and their romance was sizzling. Amara is smart and independent, Riordan is resourceful, sexy, determined and protective. Amara was abducted and badly injured. She is unable to remember what happened to her during and before her abduction, except bits and pieces of inconsequential memories. The underlying threat to Amara's life created even more tension in their relationship and the story. The threat is real, though and she needs Riordan’s help. She is plagued by nightmares and surrounded by people who appear untrustworthy. Amara and Riordan’s relationship was not an easy one, but the attraction between them was blistering hot and intense.

I really liked these characters, they are both emotionally battered and genuine. Their story was partially told in flashbacks, slowing down the pace and sometimes disrupting the plot, in my opinion. There was a lot of focus on the sexy scenes. Overall, this book kept me guessing with a decent suspense. It is the first in a new series and can be read as a standalone.

This book might have fared better if I had realized that it was a spin-off of the Elite Ops series by this author. The first, well, quite many pages, I was just trying to find out what exactly happens and why - and why it doesn't really make sense.
I can deal with the somewhat mystic parts but sometimes it felt as if there was just lots of steam. Enough at least that it might have fueled an engine full of action but somehow a lot happened without anything really happening.

When Rory comes back into Amara's life he just takes over and all others seem to somehow step back and let him. Amara is suffering from a memory loss after a traumatizing experience where Rory also almost lost his life. It took me a long time to understand who is who and what role they are playing in the book especially as Amara's father is very protective as well but negates the fact that somebody is after her despite several attempts on her life. Rory is working his way back into her be...uhm...life and her father is ...well.... okay with it. Or not.

Even though the story itself was good, it couldn't fully captivate me and I was sometimes a bit frustrated with this book. As I said, I think it might have been different if I had known the Elite Ops books, without that I was missing too much and tended to get lost.
If you know the Elite Ops series and love lots and lots of steamy scenes this book might be a good choice for you. On the whole, it was well written and had an interesting plot as well as interesting characters.

3.75 stars--COLLISION POINT is the first installment in Lora Leigh’s contemporary, adult BRUTE FORCE erotic, romantic suspense series-a spin off from the author’s Elite Ops series. This is Riordan ‘Rory’ Malone, and Amara Resnova’s story line. COLLISION POINT can be read as a stand alone without any difficulty. Any important information from the originating series is revealed where necessary. Riordan aka Rory was first introduced in the previous series.

Told from dual third person perspectives (Riordan and Amara) COLLISION POINT is a second chance story line that follows Riordan Malone, a member of the Brute Force Protection Agency, as he is once again tasked with protecting the woman that he loves. Six months earlier following the abduction of Amara Resnova that left our hero on the brink of death, Amara is once again targeted by an unknown source. As the daughter of a Russian mobster Ivan Resnova, Amara’s life has always been at risk, but with her memories of the previous year locked away within her mind, Amara begins to wonder what it is she has forgotten, including the man with whom she was once in love. What ensues is the rebuilding relationship between Amara and Riordan, and the fall-out when betrayal, lies and vengeance are revealed.

Following her harrowing kidnapping and subsequent months of recovery Amara’s life is but a shell of her former self. Without the memories of what happened, or the who and why, Amara is no more of a threat but recent events, and the slow recovery of the past re-energize the attempts against our heroine’s life. Riordan has never forgotten the woman that called to his heart but he too found himself struggling to survive knowing someone had attempted to destroy their lives.

The relationship between Riordan and Amara is one of second chances; a slow, rekindling love that was almost destroyed by one man’s need for power and control. Like all of Lora’s story lines, our hero is an alpha male whose need to protect is out of control. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic and intense but we know very little about our couple’s prior history-a history that is fraught with secrets and more. I will admit that I have not read the Elite Ops series therefore there could have been more information previously revealed of which I am not aware.

There is a large ensemble cast of secondary and supporting characters including many of the male leads from the author’s Elite Ops series.

The world building continues to follow in the wake of the American Russian mob. I am not sure as to which direction the author intends to devote to her series but there are a large number of ‘Russian’ protectors in need of a romance or two.

COLLISION POINT is a suspense filled story of betrayal, revenge, second chances and loves. The premise is engaging; the characters are colorful and numerous; the romance is provocative and seductive. If you are a fan of the author’s romantic suspense series, the style of writing and voice is very familiar.

Mmmm this was an OK read! I didn't know it was a spinoff so I felt lost at times! I feel like the author relied on the previous players a little to much!! Like I said an OK read probably pretty good if you know what's going on? Thank you netgalley and publishers for sharing this copy with me!!

Amara has lost a year of her life and now someone is trying to kill her. Will dreams lead to her salvation or her death?
Collision Point is first in a new series by Lora Leigh. While this is a new series, it is an off shoot of Ms. Leigh's Elite Ops' series and may of the characters make an appearance. I enjoyed meeting Amara. She is protecting those she loves but it comes at a price. I adored Riordan. He loves Amara and is now ready to take what is his. But can he protect her from the unknown? This story by Ms. Leigh pits Riordan against Amara's memory loss, even as evil stalks her. Can he find what she has hidden, even from herself? I loved seeing Riordan fight for Amara, even against Amara herself. I loved his determination to protect and have Amara in his world. Amara is equally determined to protect those she loves...even if she doesn't know who from. This story by Ms. Leigh is full of unexpected twists. I enjoyed Riordan and Amara's journey toward a happily ever after. And I can't wait to see where Ms. Leigh will take us in this new world she is creating.

While I was reading this book, I felt a little lost. It made me feel as if I missed something. There were mentions of events that happened, but in the way they were told, it felt as if you should already know about them. Come to find out, this is a spin-off series, this is not a true beginning of a series. I am a reader that likes to read a series from the beginning, especially if the book does not read as a stand alone.

This book is about Amara Resnova and Riordan Malone. Malone works for The Brute Force Protection Agency and Amara is the daughter of a Russian Mafia boss. Amara was abducted and rescued, but has no memory of what has happened to her since a year prior to her abduction. She now believes that someone is trying to kill her and her father discounts her feelings. She knows she needs help and goes to the one person she thinks can. He is the one thing that she is slowly remembering from her past. Malone has been led to believe that Amara wants nothing to do with him since he and his team rescued her. He was not only hurt during that mission, but was also hurt by her leaving him as if their time together prior to her abduction meant nothing. When she shows up, he can't say no to her, He will make her his again while making sure to keep her alive,

I will warn you that this book has very descriptive sexual scenes and plenty of them. It got to the point where I skipped them so that I could continue on with the story. Some parts really made me wonder if Malone would be able to protect her with his condition everytime he was around her. I really wished it had less of that and more of the main plot.

The story in itself was good and kept me reading. I did feel like the ending was a little rushed, though.

Super suspenseful romance by Lora Leigh. I love this author and her work. This is another amazing story that grabs you right at the beginning and you can’t put it down.
Lots of steamy scenes which Leigh is famous for. I can’t wait for more in this series.

I had such high hopes for Collision Point only to have them come crashing down. Don’t get me wrong, there’s a great story to be found in here, but it’s buried so deep under unneeded and repetitive angst it’s hard to find. I wanted to like all the characters but I spent most my time wanting to jack slap them for being so frustrating.

So how did a man convince a woman who had forgotten him, to remember him again and to hopefully remember everything that happened after he left her.

For starters I didn’t realize I was signing up for an amnesia story. It’s not my favorite trope at all to the point I tend to avoid it like the plague. To be fair, this particular storyline could have worked except for the fact that everyone stood around wringing their hands talking about what they could do to help her remember, but there was no follow through. Even when moments would come up where they could fill in some blanks to jog her memory, they just left her hanging. I can’t tell you how many times I highlighted a paragraph and wrote “WTF? What a dumbass!” Most of the book just felt like page after page of angsty filler.

On top of the amnesia there was the relationship back and forth. She might not have remembered him, but she dreamed of him. And even after admitting she knew she loved him, she questioned everything about him. She went to him for help and then fought him the entire way. It drove me absolutely bonkers.

My favorite part of the book was actually getting a glimpse at Noah’s life. I read his story, Wild Card, years ago and really enjoyed it. It was nice to get a catch up with how his life with Bella was going.

As for Collision Point, it was full of potential but it spun its wheels for probably ¾ of the book in the most completely frustrating ways.

Rating: 2.5 Frustrated Stars

Received in exchange for a honest review.

Rory and his brother grab your attention from the first rescue. Rory is a strong protective alpha who would do anything for the woman he loves. Including die for her. As we see in the prologue Rory sacrifices alot and he comes back from that sacrifice more determined than ever to have Amara but also to find out the truth about what happened and is still happening.

Amara is at times bratty but with what she has gone through that can be understood. she is in danger and can’t understand why. She also can’t remember the past year of her life. She was traumatized and her mind is blocking things from her that are crucial for her to survive. But it is also blocking out Rory and their time together.

When Amara shows up for Rory, time stands still and moves ahead at the same time. Rory is dealing with the emotion of it all and seeing his soulmate and Amara is dealing with trying to figure out why she feels he is the one to go to but also why he makes her feel safe. What follows from here is a book full of danger, mystery, steamy moments, entertaining banter and a love that is hot but also tender. We see Rory frustrated by Amara not remembering her but also the reveals of all the lies told to them both before everything happened. As the danger gets closer, so do Rory and Amara.

the plot is character driven and the characters are one you love. You see how much each has gone through and the sacrifices they have made. You feel the attraction and love that is there between Amara and Rory but wonder if she will remember their past or not. We see them in danger and the things she remembers and reveals are just wow totally not expected. The story is fast paced and really keeps you in the moment as you watch them race against time to find out who is after Amara and why but also for Amara to remember and for their love to be rekindled. A wonderful beginning to the series.

Great first book in a new series. The characters were well developed, although Riordan might be a bit too possessive. The suspense leading up to the ending was well paced. There was also enough romance to kee things interesting.
