The prologue totally drew me in and the action suspense kept me interested till the end. I really enjoyed this book and I can’t wait to see what’s next in the series.

It's not really a new series. More a spin-off of Elite Ops. Riordan and Amara are familiar characters, along with Ivan, Noah, Grandpa, Micah, etcetera. The story, what little of it, is also familiar. Pampered heroine gets abducted; her lover, the hero, goes and rescues her; he gets shot, actually died but his will to live was too strong; she loses her memory but her life is still in danger so she goes to him to protect her; they become lovers again, they have sex almost every time they're in the same room together; if they're not having sex, they were remembering about having sex; she recovers her memory, remembers who wants to kill her,; instead of confronting the villain, hero and heroine have sex instead; finally, confrontation takes place and it was chaotic and confusing with new characters introduced but were supposed to have been there all along; after all the revelations, hero and heroine have sex again; but wait, it's not over yet, next book has to be introduced.

I have enjoyed Ms. Leigh''s books in the past, This one, not as much. She writes sex well, but here in Collision Point, she overdid it. They were not moving the story forward and they were getting repetitive. The characters were also interchangeable. Riordan is Ms. Leigh's every hero - arrogant, supposedly well-trained in covert operations, and a fantastic lover. Amara is her every heroine - always in danger, always being rescued, always fighting her feelings for the hero, and always cream her panties every time the hero appears. Just change the name and you get a Lora Leigh book.

To enjoy this book, one should read the prologue, chapter one, and go straight to 60% up to the end.

This was a good read for me. I liked the story as well as the characters. Amara has been through a lot and is trying to get her memory back even as someone wants her dead. Can Rory help her find the answers she is looking for? Fast-paced read with lots of drama and suspense. The story held my interest throughout and the sex is steamy. An entertaining read.

I'm positive that there are people who will absolutely LOVE this book. It is well written and full of tension between the H and h. I picked this book up and put it down several times before I could finish it. Rory's treatment of Amara bothered me. So quick to hurt, to be cruel. It wasn't resonating with me. Obviously, the challenge of Amara's amnesia is a relationship stressor, however, the reactions and actions seem out of line. I've read and been a fan of Lora Leigh's work in the past, and this certainly won't stop me from reading other books by her!

I received an ARC for an honest review.

This book did not do it for me I felt myself skimming many pages. In my opinion the book didn't have anything interesting to hold me in. The way Riordan handled Amara wasn't my style and yes I felt she was handled. It just wasn't my cup of tea.

This fast-paced, action-packed romance delivers a lot of heat guaranteed to keep readers on the edge of their seats as they try to figure out whodunit.

The story kicks into high gear right from the get-go, starting out with a dramatic rescue, bullets flying, and a medical chopper flying out victims. Amara comes out of that rescue with gaps in her memory and terrible nightmares. She knows someone died in the rescue and she’s terribly afraid that the reason she can’t remember is because she can’t bear to remember the truth of that night.

Determined to pursue the truth that will help her put her life back in order and carry on, she escapes her handlers and finds Riordan, her ex-bodyguard, who has disappeared from her life – except he comes to her in dreams, explicit erotic dreams. Who is he to her? And why is he not in her life?

The plots and counterplots will make you dizzy as the surprises keep coming. The suspense is masterful and will keep you engaged all the way through to the end. A definite winner.

It was suspenseful, it was filled with action, and I think it had a story line in between all the sex. Again, don't get me wrong, I like sex but I couldn't understand how they could get anything done, and they had to do a lot..I kind of feel like there was so much going on, and If you are not familiar with her previous books, you will wonder what you missed, and yes you did miss stuff because Rory was from a previous book. anyhoo I didn't think I got the answer that I wanted..

Riordan “Rory” Malone is a force to be reckoned with. A member of the Brute Force Protection Agency and an operative working with the Elite Ops, Rory is the fiercest of warriors and protectors. Honed from the strong Irish stock of their grandfather and sharpened to a razor’s edge, Malone men live for one single purpose: to protect the women who own them, body and soul. From the moment he saw Amara Resnova, he knew she could be that woman.

But Amara, daughter of an alleged notorious crime lord, is a force in her own right. When she betrays her father, she’s finds herself in the arms of a man who is dangerous for her body and soul.

Can Rory keep Amara safe while protecting his own heart? Can Amara trust Rory not to break hers even as the danger mounts, threatening to take them and their passion to a breaking point?

Review:

First book in the new series Brute Force, but if you have read the Elite Ops series you should recognize many of the characters in this spin-off series. I think the Author did a great job of meshing the two series into making this new series. Of course, this like the other series is full of action, romance and suspense. The story is full of Ms. Leigh's sexy writing and style. Rory and Amara as lovers torn apart by others trying to kill them and brought back together have so much to go through. I enjoyed reading about them and how they worked through her amnesia and getting back to where they were before she was kidnapped. I am really curious about some of the other side characters and really cannot wait to find out which one might get the next story.

If you enjoy reading romantic suspense or other Lora Leigh stories, you should pick this one up.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I have read one or two other books by this author and liked them, but it had been awhile. I am so glad I decided to revisit her writing and will definitely be reading more in this series!

Both the H and h were strong characters, with a good amount of tension between them leading to strong, steamy, well written sex scenes, but beyond that, the story itself was great. All of the characters have a strong sense of self and loyalty. The story focuses not only on the love story between the main characters, but does a good job reminding you that there is danger lurking very near and a healthy suspense aspect that adds to the HEA.

This book reminded me that I need to read more by this author for sure! There are many good authors, writing suspense books and steamy romance books, but it is a rare talent to have such a strong combination of both themes in one book. Most are heavier on one genre or the other. Very well written and I look forward to reading more in the series!

Four stars instead of five, due to the fact that although each character added some thing to the story, there were almost too many characters to remember, making the suspected and then the real bad guy a little anti-climactic, due to the fact that so many people had been introduced in between their initial introduction and the end, I had to take a step back to remember who they were. Still looking forward to reading more!

Wow. Another great read from Lora Leigh. Collision Point is an awesome roller coaster ride of emotion, betrayal, murder, loyalty and love.
This story brings back characters from previous books, but can be read without reading the others first. The Malone men are a passionate group with strong Irish roots. They love completely and forever.
Collision Point begins with Riordan Malone rescuing Amara Resnova. He was her bodyguard and she had been abducted while he was on a mission.
I won't leave any spoilers here, but I will say that she loses her memory and then some in this attack. Riordan has been her lover and is very important to her.
Download a sample of Collision Point. You'll be hooked by the end of the first page.

COLLISION POINT is book one of Lora Leigh's new Brute Force series. This series promises to be packed with "powerful men, steely women, and explosive passion." This is also a spin off of the author's Elite Force series. If you have not read those there might be a few moments of confusion, but the main characters are Rory and Amara and their story leads the way.

Their relationship is a bit tangled as they began in the past as secret lovers and that was something that would not happen again as far as Rory was concerned, they would be lovers but there would be no secret. Because of Amara's amnesia, she doesn't completely remember their relationship, but the lust factor is over the top. The emotional side is slow growing which does add to the interest in this couple as they get to know each other again and learn who they were and who they will be. He comes off a bit overboard as an alpha male and she is a mixture of sassy, innocent, strong-willed, and determined. I guess you can say once once the head-butting stops they are a perfect match for each each other.

As with all of Ms. Leigh's books COLLISION POINT is filled with action, intrigue, and a lot of steamy, seductive scenes. I look forward to finding out what this author has planned for book two.

This was such a good book and it had me hooked from the very beginning. I liked that she went to Riorden to ask him for help even though she didn't remember him. I really enjoyed this book, recommend it, and was glad that I was able to review it.

I was really excited to read this book. We last saw Rory Malone in Lora Leigh’s book, Wildcard. That book is one of my all-time favorites and is on my keeper shelf. I couldn’t wait to see how Rory matured, evolved into the leading man, and found his soul mate.

Unfortunately, the book felt a little flat for me. I feel like I was dropped into the middle of the story. The prologue started with Rory rescuing a badly beaten Amara from a cavern. She’s been abused and he’s been recently imprisoned by her father. It is clear that they are lovers. There’s no explanation of their relationship, who her father is, why he imprisoned Rory, and why she’s beaten. That was obviously covered in a previous book that I missed.

Then the first chapter starts several months later. Amara has amnesia and doesn’t remember their relationship. Rory is angry because she refused to see him months before after her rescue. I spent the first third of the book trying to put the pieces together and the remainder of the book mainly looking for scenes where Noah and Sabella were included (the main characters from Wildcard).

4 Star Review Collision Point (Brute Force #1) by Lora Leigh
This is a second chance at love story and although the first book in a new series is in fact a spin off from the Elite Ops series. This is Riordan “Rory” Malone and Amara Resnova’s story.
Rory is a member of Brute Force Protection Agency and Amara is the daughter of an alleged crime lord. Having previously been kidnapped, Amara struggles with memory loss and the relationship she appears to have had with Rory. Not having read the other series, I was confused at times as I did not know their back story.
When Amara finds herself in danger and fighting for her life she seeks Rory’s help and protection.
Although it is a romantic suspense book, I felt it dragged at times, focusing more on the physical relationship between Rory and Amara rather than the action, suspense, intrigue and danger surrounding them.
Will Rory be able to keep Amara safe or will it all be in vain? One click to find out.
I received this book through the publisher and Netgalley.

Rory Malone is a powerful adversary. He'll protect what is his and Amara is his everything. He rescued her from her kidnappers and it nearly cost him his life. Now she's come to him desperate for his help. Someone is trying to kill her. Again. Rory and Amara have a powerful connection. I loved that even when apart they had an unbreakable bond and that when together passion flared between them. Amara's life has fallen apart. She can't remember the last year. I was touched by her circumstances. She is a brave woman. I liked Rory's family. I would like to learn more about them. Ivan Resnova, Amara's father, is such a powerful figure that he stands out. I definitely want to know his story. Lora Leigh wrote an exciting romantic suspense novel. I'm looking forward to more books in the Brute Force series.
I received a copy of this book which I voluntarily read and reviewed. My comments are my honest opinions.

I found the characters dull and uninteresting. The relationship between the two leads unbelievable (and I can suspend reality with the best of them). I hated the male character, his behaviour was ridiculous and unlikeable. The writing was predictable and bland. I put the book down at less than 50% complete because it was so bad.

I had to force myself to read this book and i actually found it confusing at first. I hadn't read any other books by this author and I didn't know this was a spin-off.

The story was ok.

It has been a while since I've read any of the intrigue novels that Lora Leigh writes. I believe they started with the Elite Ops series, which all were really good characters that were working to defeat one big villain and when that was finally accomplished the series ended. Now, Collision Point is the beginning of a new series that brings back all of the old characters along with picking up the stories of what were periphery characters in the Elite Ops series. As the first in the series, I think that Ms. Leigh is doing something similar as the first series, slowly leading us into a growing awareness of one common villain that all the involved are working to uncover and destroy. It promises to be an excellent new series.

Riordan is the brother of a character from Elite Ops, who know has a love interest of his own. I really liked that this novel started late into their relationship and that catastrophic events lead them to a collision point. Now, Riordan and Amara must learn each other anew in the aftermath, when her memories are lost and danger still lurks. A wonderful thrill ride.

This romantic suspense novel will keep you guessing from the prologue to the last page, with lots of danger along the way. Amara Resnova is a princess in her father’s Russian Mobsters life. She has her own security team including her lover Riordan Malone, a well kept secret from her over protective father. She is an attorney in a very select law office her father controls. But things go terribly out of control, and her father and all her security failed to protect her. She is abducted.

Amara remembers nothing of her life from before the abduction until she wakes up in a hospital clinging to life. She only knows she keeps having dreams about a gorgeous man that has protection coming off him in waves. She starts researching and finds his name, and sets out to find him.

Riordan Malone was on another assignment when Amara was taken. Was it a ploy to keep him away? As soon as he heard of the kidnapping, he headed to her rescue. Amara was beaten nearly to death and left in a hole. Riordan handles the rescue, and Amara kept screaming it was a trap, he couldn’t let her go. He nearly paid with his life.....twice. After his recovery he was told she refused to see him; he went home to Colorado to heal, work for his brother’s Elite Ops security team and try to forget her. When she appears back in his life begging for his help, he wanted to just send her away. He couldn’t take the pain of seeing her. But, when she explains that an attempt has been made on her life three times, he decides to listen. He will come back on his terms. Little by little snatches of the missing year come back to her, including a crushing secret that she will never get over.

The sex is hot, the story has twists and turns and keeps you wondering who you can trust, and who you can’t. This is the first book in this series, I can’t wait for the second.

Thank you to St. Martin’s Press and Netgalley for allowing me to review.
