This was my first book by this author, I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. The story was full of suspense and had an excellent storyline. The only thing I didn't like was I felt I was missing some of the back story, like how all the men knew each other and worked together. Otherwise a very good book that I couldn't put down until I knew how the story played out.
A dream prompts Amara Resnova to look for Riordan Malone, even though she's not sure if they've shared a past because amnesia has wiped out her memories.
Riordan 'Rory' Malone has struggled to regain his fitness after he was severely injured, although that was nothing compared to the rejection of the woman he loved. Months later, he's shocked when she seeks him out. Unaware of their past, he's determined not to lose her again and will do anything to keep her close.
The writing style is choppy and it was a constant struggle to keep track of what was happening. Add in Amara's amnesia, and sometimes I was lost to the point where I considered DNF'ing. Liking a challenge, I plodded on, but after I finished reading Collision Point, I don't feel it was worth the extra effort. Small pockets within the narrative that held my attention, but with most of the focus on Amara and Riordan's lust filled thoughts and actions, it is difficult to see or remember anything beyond their physical relationship.
I didn't enjoy Amara's defensive attitude and personality. Her petulant behaviour and attitude are childish even though her thoughts and desires are very adult. She's not a protagonist I warmed too. To highlight the matter, her controlling father treats her like a child, instead of an adult. Rory was protective and possessive and combined with Amara's equally brusque nature, the pair together were too aggressive for my taste.
One character I liked was Noah. His presence always seemed to create an air of normality within the chaotic surroundings. I'll definitely be reading his story in Wild Card, Elite Ops #1.
Fans familiar with the author's previous novels, specifically the Elite Ops series, will love this first novel in the Brute Force series. Sadly, for me, Collision Point just didn't make a favourable impact.

I’ve been a fan of Lora Leigh since my first Elite Ops book but this one didn’t manage to grab me like those did. When I saw an opportunity to read an early copy in a new series, I was excited to read Collision Point, but I felt like the book assumed I had a lot of background information about some of the characters, which is fine as long as the reader has read the other stories recently. The plot was interesting and the characters were strong and likeable, but there may have actually been too much sex, so it got in the way of the story, rather than supporting it and moving things forward. I do love the idea of soul mates, and how it was portrayed, and the fact that the Malone men know when they meet “the one.” Although this one was a little work to read, I am interested in seeing what comes next in the Brute Force series.
My first from this author and to be honest, I'm not sure I'd read another.
Although I liked the premise and the complicated story of Amara and her desire to remember not only her abduction but the man she loved, this is the kind of book that could have been 100 pages less to be more effective.
The story itself is a good one with Russian criminals and special forces doing what they can to insure that Amara and her family find out who wanted her and her lover dead. I liked Amara as well as her man Riordan. His family was a bright spot to this long-winded story. But the constant repetition whether it was describing one of the bodyguards or the gratuitous sex that Amara and Riordan seemed to enjoy almost nonstop in the latter half of the book drove me to distraction. I found myself skimming way too often and that's never a good sign for me.
Also I know this is just an ARC but the amount of typos was over the top distracting. Sentences had way different meanings than was intended so I'm hopeful it was cleaned up before publication.
I enjoy these kinds of stories and am grateful to have been selected to read Collision Point but it rambled on way too long and I wanted to scream at the constant holding back from all of the characters. Just say what you need to and move on already!! Yes, those responsible for the abduction was a surprise but the reveal could have happened in less pages as far as I am concerned.
For those who love a wordy kind of book, go for it, you'll love it. But for me, I needed just a bit less this time around.
This was a fantastic romantic suspense that had me turning pages throughout the whole night as fast as I could! Great plot and loved the characters! Highly recommended!
Collision Point by Lora Leigh. A romantic suspense with some spicy times mixed in. The first book in the Brute Force series. I've read and enjoyed other books by this author and this book hasn't disappointed me. It pulled me in from the first page with it's characters, dialogue and storyline. I look forward to reading more in this series and more books by Lora Leigh
This is the first of a new series Brute Force series, which is a spinoff of her Elite Ops series. It has been a while since I read the Elite Ops, but I had no problems understanding what was going on. This is an erotic romantic suspense story. I enjoyed the book, the plot was easy to follow, the characters are well developed. The story revolves around the heroine losing a year of her memories about the hero, which was an interesting concept. I did feel the story was easier to follow as I had read the Elite Ops series, but I don’t think you had to read them to understand this book. A really great story!
I enjoyed this romantic suspense, it is fast paced and well written and I believe the start of a new series, the characters were engaging and have a great chemistry that shines through on the pages. This is the first time I've read this author and hopefully it won't be the last
I received an advanced copy from Netgalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
This is Book 1 in the Brute Force series. Riordan is rescuing Amara from a hole in the ground where her kidnappers left her. This was such an exciting book. I can honestly say that the author has another hit on her hands. She just keeps getting better and better with her books. There’s so much excitement from the beginning to the end that you just have to keep reading until you finish. I know because I didn’t get in bed until 1 am. I kept saying after the end of this chapter. That’s just how good it was. I thought I had it figured out but she sure surprised me with who the bad guys were. I can’t wait to read more about the guys in Brute Force security agency. I received an ARC from Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.
This book had many twists and turns and smoldering sex scenes. The writing flowed and made me not put it down until finished. A perfect romantic suspense novel. I voluntarily read an advanced reader copy
This book was just ok to me. With good characters, suspense and some hot, steamy moments it was an enjoyable read. I'm my opinion you would benefit greatly from reading the authors Elite Ops series first. Overall a pretty good read.
The idea of this Elite Op's Spin off is one I've been waiting on for years. However, I feel as thought it missed it's mark. The plot was a little bit too unbelievable for me. It was nice to see the Elite Team again - unfortunately, anyone not familiar with the previous series would easily get lost.
If you like a book that's sexually driven with a story undertone, this is the book for you.
This is Amara (a crime lords daughter) and Riordan (An Elite Ops Agent) story. It starts off with Amara being kidnapped and beaten, which causes memory loss. Riordan was her bodyguard.
With Amara struggling to find answers and Riordan closing his heart off, these two characters have intense push and pull. Amara seeks Riordan's help to find out what happened to her and why someone is trying to kill her. The story is well written with lots of suspense and strong lead and side characters. There is also plenty of Lora Leigh's steamy love scenes. A great read!

This author knows how to make a grand entrance with a opener in a new series as she has in this one. I do love her paranormal but she does also write a mean contemporary that keeps you hanging. In this one the main characters Rory and Amara do just that from the get go. Rory is one that you just want to squeeze and not let go too. She starts this one with a bang that has you with your mouth open. Then you see why it had to when things really start rolling. The chemistry between the two melts your fingertips whenever they come together with the slow boil that will start. The danger element is also a puzzle with wondering who could possible be the culprit keeps you asking. His family has you wanting more on each of them too they also capture a readers attention. All in all this one will consume you leaving you to wonder how long until the next installment of this series.
This is such a passionate story. The relationship between Riordan and Amara is never really in question it is just how it will redevelop. The part that kept me hooked was trying to second guess who was really the killer. The answer is so much a twist that I never could have guessed. This is a intense story and one I had a hard time putting down.
So a lot happens in this book. You start the book 6 months earlier on a rescue mission. Rory rescues Amara but the rescue does not go smoothly. You then pick up the book 6 months later. Amara doesn't remember the last year. Amara's life is still in danger and Rory will do anything to protect the woman he loves. There is a lot of sex and sexual tension in this book, some of the sex is rough, not brutal just a little more then some people may be use to but it works for this story. The story follows with Amara getting her memory back and Rory protecting her. The ending is satisfying but also leaves it so you can add more to this story. I would read more in this series.
There's no words to explain how I feel about Collision Point. I finished it in a few hours. I literally devoured this book. The fast paced rhythm and suspenseful, the insanely hot chemistry between the lead characters and a mystery to be solve... it was so tempting I couldn't stop reading. I loved reading about Rory, I mean Riordan and Amara, as well as about Nathan, Micah and many other characters that I missed so much. The story is thrilling, sexy and surprising! It has the same vibe as the Elite Ops books, so if you enjoyed those books you'll love this one. Collision Point is an amazing begining for a brand new series. Can't wait for the follow up!
This is a voluntary review of an advanced copy.
Wow, what a crazy ride as you go through this romantic intrigue book. Amara and Riordan were so great together and even when Amara could not remember the last year of her life, she saw him in her dreams.
There was so much pain and sorrow for Amara, and you could feel how that pain caused her to lose that year of memories.
There was a lot of drama and intrigue, and a couple of twists in this story. One I saw coming and the other was unexpected so I didn't see that twist coming!! There was only one part that I didn't see answered - why did Amara's father, Ivan, choose Riordan hoping that they would end up together?? I am just guessing but the slurs that Ivan keep sending to Riordan is either that he felt Riordan failed Amara or that he wanted to test how strong he was? Wish that was explained in the book.
The epilogue was quite the teaser so I hope that means there will be another book and we will see more of Ivan, Syn, and hopefully Riordan and Amara.
For me, this was an enjoyable read. I know this is a series, Elite Ops of standalone books and I think I have read one or two of them, but have not been fully invested in the entire series. However, I happened onto this latest book which seems to be a spinoff of that series and decided to give it a try. I will definitely read more of these. Loved Riordan and his very Irish family. Amara and her family were harder for me to feel any emotions for, but the suspense plot line was good, and the story very engaging. I have liked many of Lora Leigh’s books, and this one was no exception. If you know the series, this is a definite for you, but even if you have not read any of the other stories in this series, this is a very good standalone, romantic suspense genre book.
The more I read of Lora Leigh's books the more I'm sure she's one of THE best authors who really know how to make a couple sizzle on the pages of a book. The sexual tension is always intense between her characters. I love the bond her couples form and the fierce love they feel for each other.
Amara was kidnapped and beaten by an unknown enemy. When Riorden, her bodyguard and lover saves her, he gets shot in the process. She believes he died just before she passes out from the trauma.
6 months later and Amara can't escape the nightmares of that fateful night. In her dreams is a man than she knows will always protect her, but she doesn't remember who he is.
Riordan almost lost his life the night he saved his soul mate. He didn't care how much danger he was in, all he cared about was rescuing her. He would rather die with her than live without her. He thought she felt the same way until he's told she never wants to see him again while he is recovering in the hospital.
This story has a touch of paranormal to it. The Malone family believe that there is one true soul mate out there for them and when they find that person, they form a bond that reaches beyond death. The connection is so strong that they can communicate through dreams.
That bond is what ultimately brings Amara and Riordan back together, but they have many obstacles to overcome before they reach their happily ever after.
I loved this book! Heck, I pretty much love everything I read from this author. She has yet to disappoint me when she is constantly bringing us the fierce love stories her main characters provide. I definitely want more in this series and highly recommend it. ARC provided by NetGalley.
