I haven’t read a contemporary romance in quite a while. Dislike of a certain “shady” book made me take a break. I’m glad I took a chance on this book. It was a sexy read that had me swooning. There were some moments that had me rolling my eyes because it was just silly. In all, I did enjoy it and look forward to reading more by this author.

The begining of this book is HOT. I loved the secret and sexy aspect.
The next few chapters while good are a little slow. However the end more than makes up for the dip in the middle.
The chemistry is off the charts. Nico and Everly make for great reading You cant even tell there are two authors writing. The drama keeps the book interesting without being over the top. Nothing is too sad or angsty so it is still a fairly light book.

Man, this book stared out sizzling hot! Niko the firefighter, has been on Evelyn’s mind since she was a little girl. When she has the chance to a one night stand with him, she gives him a wrong name and hopes to get him out of her system.
But Niko can’t forget her and Ev’s ruined for other guys to come, because all she wants is Niko.
Throughout the book Evelyn made me mad, she pushed Niko away and not telling her brother made things just more complicated.
It was a back and forth and I wanted to quit at 85%. The twist at the end added last minute drama, but didn’t have me on the edge.

Love the title & it definitely fits Niko. Niko is known for being a confident, yet cocky playboy who serves up his one and done brand of satisfaction using his cock....sure, ab-tastic, hot & sexy fireman's physique. Niko doesn't recognize that his one night hook-up is none other than the grown-up Everly, his best friends younger sister. But, Everly knows who he is, Niko, the one she has crushed on for years. she wants Niko, but she is aware of 'the bro code' so she decides to pretend she's someone else, leading to the best night & her best sexual encounter ever. In one night stand form, she leaves before morning & Niko wakes with the other side of the bed being empty & cold. He realizes this is how his one and done hook-ups must feel and it's not something he is used to because Niko has always been the one to leave before sunrise, to make sure he's out. Does Everly leave to ensure her identity as Niko's one night stand is kept a secret or does she have another secret now? I won't lie, Everly's behavior is annoying for a good portion of the book, but, Niko does redeem himself & his man-ho ways when he realizes Everly could lead to his HEA. While the book was a bit long, it was arguably well worth the time to read; an engaging & entertaining storyline with humorous banter galore. Also, loved Niko & Cam's bro talks, although some were `long winded' & other conversations didn't seem required for this plot, albeit some of their banter could a lead-in to subsequent books for a series. If Niko's ab's alone or the ab...solutely humorous banter doesn't ab...solutely inspire you to one-click & read, then the heat & humor in Cocksure ab.....solutely should have you one-clicking!

I'm a little on the fence with this one. I liked the writing style, and the way that the story flowed for the most part. I loved Niko, and thought that he made a great H in this story. My problem was with Everly. She was childish, selfish, and she refused to face anything head on. So much could have been avoided if she would have just taken things seriously. She never once considers anyone else's feelings, and "just doesn't want to deal with it right now". The only reason I finished the story was because of Niko. He grew and matured as a person, but Everly never did. She was still pulling the "but you don't have to do it because you fell obligated" crap in the very last chapter, even though Niko had done everything in his power to prove himself to her. I would definitely give these authors another read, my main problem was with one character, not the whole book.

So Cocksure is about Everly moving home to Boston from California, after eight years away, when she finds her scumbag boyfriend cheating on her! When she gets back home she has what feels like the whole world on her shoulders. So she has a ONS. With her older brothers best friend, Niko. The one she crushed on as a kid. Oh but the kicker is he doesn’t recognize her, so she pretends for one night that she isn’t her. And the even bigger kicker... it’s the best sex of her life. Hmm, I wonder if things will get crazy? Well I’ll tell you. They do.

Ok there are many things I want to say about this book. For one I enjoyed it... kind of? Like as I was reading I was like “ok yeah this is good.. yeah, yeah.” Then a dialogue or scene would just take me out of it. The plot was one that is used quite often, but hey... I personally enjoy a QUICK brother’s best friend secret romance. I love the secret romance aspect, and the excitement of it all. The issue with Cocksure is the story is not quick by any means, so the secret drags out a LITTLE too long. To the point where you’re wondering why people over the age of 20 are that concerned about what others may think. ALSO, there was a little too much “bro talk” between the hero and his friend. There was also a weird imbalance of slut shaming from many characters, but also calling out the slut shaming that just didn’t actually work for me. I could see what the authors were trying to do with that, but for me it didn’t hit.

I will say that I love that the Everly is written as independent in so many ways. She was humble, and working and ready to take whatever came at her on alone. The thing is... she gets so whiny at points and that is fine, I whine too. But the story being so long made it feel like too much.

I did like the hero, Niko, after awhile. At first he was just a manwhore dude, who has annoying convos with the heroines brother and has sexy times with the heroine, but he eventually evolves into a likable guy in my opinion.

All in all I think this story is a good one. It could just benefit from some dialogue/scene chopping, and a bit of plot/character focus. If you like brothers best friend or secret relationships, you will enjoy Cocksure.

I’m actually excited to read the next book. I think they have a good setup for could be a fun hate to lovers relationship!

I went into this story blindsided not really having a clue how it would go. I'm a cover whore ... so I seen and my greedy ass wanted it.

I enjoyed the overall story. It's your typical brothers best friend forbidden romance book so I won't say it's super original but I've never read anything by these author's and I throughly enjoyed their style of writing.

Niko is a whole lota yummy, he's that right amount of cocky and sweet. I loved him from the start and for me he's the best thing about the story.
Everly is a hard cookie to crack. There are times I loved her! But Jesus I didn't half want to slap some sense into her especially through the last half of the book. I totally get that she's been hurt and she's jaded so while she frustrated me she was also true to herself throughout.. She's definitely a character that you'll either love or hate but I have a feeling she'll have more haters.. she's not easy to love.

I like the pace of the story and the way everything unfolds. I wish there was more of them as a couple happy at the end instead of the drawn out middle back and forth angst because there is a fair bit of it in this book. The chemistry is great between the characters and there's some seriously hot moments!.

I enjoyed it well enough... it's not something I'll jump to read again but it's was a good read. I'd love to read Cam's book! I have a feeling that's going to be hella entertaining.

This was a hard one for me to rate because it had a lot of elements that I normally steer clear of. The H is a ONS only type of guy. Zero emotional commitment and his ONS reputation and revolving door history with OW is mentioned a lot. The h has a lot of emotional baggage and hang ups, including a cheating ex, lack of self-confidence, and major trust issues.

Maybe it was easy to read without any real struggle because the story keeps a good pace and is always throwing a new twist into the mix? Idk but I read the whole thing through and somehow the author managed to keep me entertained, even though there was some pretty OTT drama. The first half was not my favorite. I thought I would really dislike if not flat out hate the H but again I was surprised. The more time spent with Niko, the more I ended up liking him. He isn’t perfect and some of the things he says and does (at the beginning) was silly if not straight up ridiculous.

But that said, he somehow manages to redeem himself. This guy might have been a jerk prior to meeting the h but when he realized that Everly was it for him, he wasn’t a wimp and manned up to his feelings right away. No fighting his feelings, no trying to deny it or prove he wasn’t falling fast and hard. He was never shy about stating his long term intentions when it came to her and (imo) went above and beyond to appease Everly at every turn.

For the second half of this read and for Niko, I would have rated this one a four star read hands down. Everly on the other hand was an h I had a hard time warming up to. She only really started to become likable towards the end but after 75% of her back peddling and indecisiveness, I think it was a bit too late for me to see her in a new light.

Memorable Moments: It was kind of funny to see Niko, a professed player getting brushed off by Everly after their night together. When she tells him straight up their one night was fun but she isn’t looking for anything more… his reaction was of course confusion and then outrage that she was treating what they shared as insignificant. It was seeing the shoe on the other foot and it was about time he was on the other side of that awkward conversation. It was definitely a learning experience for him. Lol!

Would I recommend? If you don’t find moderate angst, a heavy dose of drama and a reformed player how gets a dose of his own medicine, this one will definitely hit the stop.

Cocksure was our first book by author K.I. Lynn. Overall we liked this book okay, but we felt like the story has been done several times over!

The thing that kept us reading was definitely Niko!! Yes he was a manwhore, but he cared- he gave it his all!

I just could not get into or like this book. I found Everly to be the most annoying character and all of her decisions irritated me to no end. I could care less for Niko. I didn't see what they even saw in each other. I found the ex-boyfriend subplot to be weird and unnecessary. Surprisingly, I didn't actually mind the pregnancy plot, I thought that worked well here, but that's about the only thing I liked.

Before this I’d read only one book from this author and that was the brilliant Six. I’m amazed it’s taken me so long getting round to reading another one.

So I was really looking forward to this, I mean it has the cool title and the brilliant cover plus the intriguing blurb.

Now since there’s already loads of reviews I’ll keep mine short and skip my usual summary and just get straight onto my opinion.

This started really well and I loved and lusted after Niko. He’s your typical manwhore but I liked both him and Cameron and the easy relationship they have together.
And the humour I do love a book with humour.

This is an entertaining read and is probably better than my rating suggests but I had two problems.

1 - It’s just too long.
It dragged a lot in places and I found myself skimming, it just didn’t need to be so long.

2 - Everly.
I really wanted to like her but I couldn’t and ultimately this spoilt the book for me. I found her annoying and the way she kept putting off telling Cam was frankly unbelievable.

I received a review copy from NG.

I LOVED this book and I was a little hesitant on it as the relationship starts with a huge lie. But I truly loved this story. Niko is a hot guy and he does not do relationships. One night he has a one night stand he leaves him with a post it note. And he becomes obsessed with finding her.

Everly has just broken up with her ex and moved back home and she sees Niko, her brothers BFF and he does not recognize her so she has a one night stand with him and plans to avoid him after. And what fireworks happen when he finally learns the truth.

But he cannot stay away from her and I loved these two together. They just are meant to be and I totally loved every second of this story.
