What a heart wrenching poignant story. I emphasized heavily with the mother and the dilemma she found herself in with the circumstances of her child.

Love the author, but this title didn't appeal to me as Chamberlain's other work. This is the only title of theirs that I didn't finish. I would recommend all of Chamberlain's other titles.

I absolutely loved this book. Sheer perfection by Ms. Chamberlain. My very favorite book of the year ,so far and it wouldn't be a surprise if it was my #1 favorite of the year. Time travel can be hit or miss, but it was done beautifully here and the ending was very satisfying. Won't say much about the content of this story since much would be spoilery and what isn't can be found in the summary on GOODREADS

Purchased by the Scottsboro Public Library, and recommended as a book club selection.
An engaging twist on the usual time-travel genre.

I liked so much about The Dream Daughter, but especially the time-travel element. I would have enjoyed it more if there were less focus on pregnancy and infant care, but I get that the maternal issues have to be presented. Those details just aren't what I want to read. Bottom line is that the book is well-written and interesting, but people who are not mothers may find themselves skimming a bit.

The Dream Daughter by Diana Chamberlain is a dynamic read with great sequencing and plot points as well as an intriguing storyline. You won't want to put this book down.

I received a review copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley for my honest review. The opinions expressed in this review are entirely my own.

Diane Chamberlain has taken a dream or maybe a fantasy here in this story that I think a few mothers have dreamed about. Being able to travel through time to save their child. To be given a chance to change or do something more for your unhealthy child. She took my dream and wrote a heartbreaking and heartwarming story that brought life to this fantasy and made the unbelievable so real for me.

The Dream Daughter blends the unrealistic dream of time traveling with the story of a mother’s love, hope and sacrifices for her unhealthy unborn child. Diane Chamberlain captures the length a heartbroken mother will go to save her child. Going on only hope and faith in her brother-in-law she risks everything and takes a chance to change the path for her unborn child.

This story pulled at my momma heartstrings and left this non-crier looking for tissues after finishing this story. I highly recommend.

Thank you to NetGalley, St Martin's Press and Diane Chamberlain for a copy to read and review.

I have to admit I was skeptical when I discovered the premise of this book as it was unusual for this author to use a device like time travel. I should have known that Diane Chamberlain could pull it off! Well done and will add it to the many books of hers that I will recommend.

Okay, this book really does have it all! There's drama, history, suspense, romance, and even time travel. After losing her husband in the Vietnam War, Caroliine Sears will do anything to save their unborn child. Even if that includes travelling all alone to New York City in the future. This story broke my heart, and then put it back together! My first time reading this author, but certainly not my last!

A huge thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for sending me a digital copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I truly appreciate it!

Carly is willing to do anything for her unborn daughter, even travel through time. A wonderful, fantastical tale. ARC from NetGalley.

Caroline Sears is devastated to learn that her unborn baby has a heart defect. Her husband died in the Vietnam War, and this baby is her last connection to him. It is 1970, though, and nothing can be done … until her brother-in-law tells her that perhaps there is something that can be done. Hunter tells Caroline the secret of where he came from before showing up in her and her sister’s life 5 years earlier. Caroline will have to take a literal leap of faith if she believes her brother-in-law, but she would do anything for her baby.

This story was well-written, and the characters were all likeable. This book was at times heart-wrenching and at other times heart-warming. This story belongs at the top of my list of favorite time travel books, along with 11/22/63. Diane Chamberlin hit it out of the park again!

Many thanks to NetGalley for providing me an ARC of this book.

Having recently finished “The Dream Daughter” by Diane Chamberlain, I am happy to have had the chance to read the previously available e-book copy; thank you NetGalley and St. Martin's Press!

Did I ever enjoy "this trip through time" story! I am definitely not known as a speedy reader and still can't believe that I finished this in one weekend!! I could NOT put this story down. I needed to know what was next, where was next, and most importantly when was next. Ms. Chamberlain's head may have hurt as she "juggled calendars from different eras," but she did not drop any balls here. All the complex bits and pieces of this amazing story fit perfectly for me!

"I would wear that bracelet every day for the rest of my life."

This book shattered my heart and put it back together so many times that I'm amazed it still works. The time travel concept was weird, but was perfect for the story. Chamberlain has not lost her touch!

Diane Chamberlain is now an auto-buy author for me, ever since Necessary Lies. She weaves her stories together seamlessly and The Dream Daughter was no exception. Plus I love OBX so this was even more perfect. A beautiful story, with a beautiful ending, and I didn't even mind the little sprinkle of magical realism - beautifully done, Diane! Thank you for giving me the chance to get an early peek.

I loved this book. An automatic buy for me when I see her books. The characters, plot and the whole story was phenomenal. I cried and laughed and cheered on the main heroin through the whole book. Well done.

The book was well-written and intriguing, and I loved the relationship between Caroline and Hunter (and also Caroline and her sister). I found myself unable to close my book at night because I needed to find out what would happen next. Usually the idea of time travel wouldn't appeal to me, but I loved the premise of this novel. As always, Diane Chamberlain does not disappoint.

I am not typically a fan of fantasy or time travel, but the plot of this just played out so perfectly. Even when I didn’t think there was an option for a happy ending, Chamberlain worked it all out.

The novel is well written and flowed nicely to make for an easy read.

This one was a pleasant surprise for me. I had a hard time getting into it at first but it was easy to read, understand and I really wanted to keep reading every time I picked it up. I really liked Carly as a character and even though her storyline could have been hard to follow it wasn’t. I wasn’t fully satisfied with the resolution, but I understand the reasoning and it still had a satisfying ending. I would read more from her in the future and I recommend this book if you are looking for a unique plot line.

The Dream Daughter is part science fiction, part family drama. In 1970, a young expectant mother is devastated when she is told her baby has a heart defect with slim odds of survival even with fetal heart surgery. The mother's mysterious brother-in-law is a physicist and wants to help her by time traveling to the future, where (when?) the prognosis would be much better. I definitely recommend this unique novel.
