I left a 4 star rating when I read this book 4 years ago but didn't write a formal review. I am marking the rating here to move this book off my shelf. Love this series!
Twisted End left off where the second novella ended.
We get the continuation of the novellas. It is better than ever.
We get to ready about Janie and Brent solving the kill that started in the first book. It's more suspense that it will keep you captivated from the first page.
Get ready and be prepare for a chilling story.

This series is interesting but definitely not one of my favorites. This book is better than the first but I think the plot is pretty boring. It has potential but is just not for me. I have read just about all of them though, so there is something there that keeps me reading but I cant quite put my finger on it.
“How did you move on when the worst-case scenario came to pass? Even more, how did you move on when you’d been part of what brought that scenario to pass?”
Feeling lost and alone while having to team up with someone you don’t completely trust that may hold all the cards in helping you track down the love of your life. How do you put that aside and entrust them to help you regain your world? Could you put her life in their hands?
“I’m not going to be rough, but I’m going to be very thorough and by the time I’m finished and we’re both too exhausted to move, you’ll know exactly how much I mean it.”
Fear, hope, defeat, anger, betrayal, love and scepticism. All of these thoughts were running through my mind as they were running out of time trying to outsmart the stalker.
“...sometimes safety was more mental than it was physical and that sometimes mental safety took the longest to accept.”
I received an email to read and review this one. When I accepted it, I didn't realize that it was a novella. I'm not a big fan of novellas because they just aren't long enough. I always feel like the author is rushing to get the book finished and there was too much going on in the short amount of time given.
Another heart pounding exciting novella. Hard to put down excitement at every turn. Love it. I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book for my honest review
The anticipation to find out what happens to Janie continues to build. It was so hard to say silent when everything was resolved. Non stop action and searching for answers that begin getting closer within reach.
Thank you St. Martin's Press for the ARC in exchange for an honest review.
It's a good finale for Janie and Brent's story. Out of the three novellas, this is the best one because it has a lot of action. Janie was kidnapped by the suspect and they're on a face-off. Brent and Alyssa (Janie's BFF) are tracking them and they must save Janie's life before it's too late. As for the Gentleman, this guy was a brilliant villain. What a sly bastard. I'll give this book a 3.5 rating.
We come down to it. Things have now come to a head and the danger is intense. This final novella has the face down it was building toward. It was fast-paced and exciting. I will deliver no spoilers for the first two novellas, but I am happy to say that my suspicions about the stalker were right.
Janie and Brent both got tough for this one and I liked seeing that. Alyssa still remains my favorite character and I can’t wait to see more of them.
Yes, that is a broad hint that I will be continuing forward into the main books of the series. This series of prequels did their job leaving me curious to about Bea and Alyssa’s further story and most of all, I need more villain The Gentleman.
I’m counting on the fact that the rest of the series are novel-length so development will be stronger and characters and relationships deeper developed. I suppose one could leap into the main part of the series without these three prequel novellas, but I for one enjoy all the background I can get.
My thanks to St. Martin’s Press for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
This story is full of mystery, intrigue and a very good plot. As I read all three stories. I found myself feeling attached to the characters and feeling every emotion possible. I have had a long book slump but these books have made me feel like a reader again!
An introduction divided into three parts.
Janie Roberts, a detective, begins investigating a case and ends up getting involved with the prime suspect.
This causes her to be fired from the police.
Now, all the suspense will start.
Janie turns from investigator to the assassin's main target.

Twisted End is the last of the series by Tara Thomas and it does not disappoint. Intense drama keeps the reader engaged until the end.
Following right after the previous novella, Twisted End brings this three part prequel to a nice starting point. Confused? Let me explain. This story really starts to get me interested in this world as we see more of the nemesis out to bring a the Benedict brothers down. Janie and Brent are part of this world and their involvement helps set the stage from a different perspective. This book should not be read as a standalone. It is best to read all three, one after another. Or at least the book right prior to this one.
This novella moves at a faster pace and Janie starts to show more steel in her spine which makes a difference for me. I'm starting to like her better. As her relationship develops even further with Brent, the danger also ramps up. To avoid giving spoilers, I'll just say that the plot works well and helps to set the stage for the Darkest Night and Deadly Secrets. These would be book one and two in the Sons of Broad series. Recommended to romantic suspense readers who enjoy characters who appear in multiple books in a series, be it as a main or secondary character.
The story continues in Twisted End and continues the sorry between Janie and Brent. Twisted End was an action packed read that kept me on the edge of my seat form the start to finish. This was another great addition to the series.
So this novella picks up right after HIDDEN FATE and it is full of action, mystery, and suspense. Janie, and Brent's story is brought to a satisfactory and happy end. But there is still the nasty villain to deal with and he isn’t over or gone as one would think. The reader is left with a few hints on his identity and knows he has his eye on Alyssa. Im pretty sure we will see this villain again in future books and I can’t wait to see what he will be up to next. I also am super excited to read the next 3 full lengths books in this series and get to the other brothers and find out who their mates are.
My Rating: 4.5 stars *****
“I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Twisted End is a well written suspense. I loved the plot and the author’s writing style. I have not read the previous boos in this series but definitely nwant to.

I am enjoying this series. In this final novella thins are intense. The danger is at an all time high, exactly what I was expecting. Going into this novella I had an idea of who I suspected.
When Janie turns up missing Brent is trying to find her while she fights to stay alive. Not knowing who he can trust has made it hard for Brent. I couldn’t turn the page fast enough. Will Brent be able to get to Janie in time?
I enjoyed all these novellas leading up to the first full book of this series. These were all fast paced novellas full of mystery and romance. I highly recommend reading these before the first full length book in the series.
Twisted End is the final prequel novella to the Sons of Broad series. I am going to assume you have read the previous two novellas and give a name to the man who has been terrorizing Janie and killing those poor women.
First, I would like to begin saying that I am still dying to know who the gentleman is. I don't want to wait for three full-length novels to be released before we find it out. I cannot wait so long! He gave a few hints, but nothing more and it frustrated me. Secondly, I knew that Mark was the man who shared his point of view with us in the first novella and was guilty of killing people. I am not happy that his relationship with Ashley was ruined because he seemed like a good man, but I am happy that I was right. I really liked him at first, but now he has gone coo-coo and Janie's life is in danger.
As anyone would expect, Twisted end is packed with suspence and action since Janie is fighting for her life and Brent is trying to find her before it's too late. I am still not sure why Brent so so involved in all that stuff considering that he is not a cop or something similar. Still, the novella was good and it gave a proper ending to these characters.
After having read the three novellas, I can say that I would recommend them and the first full-length book sounds promising.
This was a good end to this novella series. The series was very suspenseful and since you don’t really get all the answers, it leaves you really wanting to read Darkest Night to see if you get those answers.
Really excited to see where Tara takes this new series in the romantic suspense genre.
