Make sure you read Shattered Fear and Hidden Fate before you read this book. This is the third prequel novella in the Sons of Broad series and is my favourite.
Twisted End is an action packed novella. I liked Janie & Brent and also the secondary characters. It’s hard to review without spoilers.
I’m definitely looking forward to reading full length stories in this series.
Last part of the serial whose goal is to present the town where a bad guy known by his minions under the name The Gentleman calls the shots and gets rid of all those bothering him. At the end of this part, we don’t know who he is. The author solves a first mystery: the death of the man charged with getting rid of Janie. Tara Thomas also presents the heroines of the longer stories that will follow: Tilly, heroine in Darkest Night (27 February), Bea, in Deadly secret (27 March) and Alyssa, in the last volume, Broken promise (26 June).
4 Never Saw That Coming Stars!!!
We finally get to find out who the killer is and man oh man I can safely say, I NEVER thought it was this person. Not in a million years!
Brent and Janie have grown closer than ever and while she's not supposed to still be involved in the investigation, Janie just can't help herself. This of course leads to all sorts of moments where my heart was beating so fast I thought it was going to come right out of my chest.
This book wraps up the mystery of who the killer is in Charleston but there's still some missing pieces to who's behind it all. So you know my kindle is just waiting for Darkest Night!!!
This is the third novella in this series. This book brings everything together. This book picks up right where "Hidden fate" finishes. These three book all have strong characters, lots of suspense and some steamy romance. I really enjoyed the characters interaction in this book, again amazingly written characters. I can't wait to read more from this author and in this series in the future.
Highly recommended
I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book
And lastly, there is Twisted End by Tara Thomas, the 3rd novella in a 3 part serial that introduces the Sons of Broad series. The books in the Sons of Broad series are romantic suspense stories with a series arc about a family in Charleston, South Carolina. The three prequel novellas: Shattered Fear, Hidden Fate and Twisted End introduce the series and the suspense plot that will run throughout the full-length books. These three novellas tell the romance of Janie and Brent, who meet in Shattered Fear at a bar while Janie is undercover looking for a serial killer.
The suspense plot in these three novellas is solid, although it does read like an introduction to a longer plot - or a teaser of sorts. Additionally, Janie and Brent’s romance is fast and easy; the only real conflict between them is the suspense plot which, you know, threatens their life together. While a part of the suspense plot is resolved, there is a villainous character that has something much bigger planned - something that will target the Benedict family in town. I am looking forward to the full-length stories in this series to see what Thomas has in store for the Benedicts. (Book Disclosure: An ebook was provided by the publisher via NetGalley)
Twisted End the conclusion to Janie and Brent story which ended I thought on a good note. The story was fast-paced, and I felt more chemistry between Janie and Brent than in the second book. Twisted End began where Hidden Fate left off. The search is on for Janie. Brent knows who took her, now he must find her before she becomes the next victim.
Twisted End was a novella and not full-length novel. But it does provide entertainment and that is all you could ask for when it comes to a short story.
Brent and Janie are still in the thick of the investigation into The Gentleman. There are still lots of dangers to face, baddies to unmask and romance to deal with.
Brent is in the process of moving to DC with his new job and he is angling for Janie to come with him. But as they are stalked between the cities, getting a little too close for comfort, they're not sure they will ever escape him.
There is a very satisfactory ending but there is big fat loose end, which neatly ties in these books with the other series featuring crossover characters of the Benedict Brothers and Brent's sister Bea and Janie's friend and fellow cop Alyssa. Some fabulous twists and turns and I enjoyed the whole series!
Twisted End picks up where Hidden Fate ended. Suffice to day that Janie is in danger. The drama and suspense was everywhere and I was on the edge of my seat!
I loved how Tara Thomas has entangled Brent and Janie's love story with the darker aspects of mystery, crime and intrigue. The entire story was well written, the author has crafted a suspenseful storyline that held my attention from start to finish. I can't wait for more!
Whew! This book flew by for me. I couldn't put it down. This was the final book in the novella series and it picked up right where book 2 left off. Brent and Janie are trying to hunt down who is after them. This book was fast paced and had a lot of action in it. Their story was heart-stopping and so sweet. It was a good conclusion to their story. I don't want to say too much, as I feel like I'll be giving things away. This was a very fast read for me and wrapped up Brent and Janie's story nicely. If you liked the other two books, you'll enjoy this conclusion.
Twisted End is the final book in the Sons of Broad novella series. It's dark, twisted, and demented but oh so good. I was on the edge of my seat! Clutching my pillow to my chest.... the mystery, suspense, it was on hell of a ride.
Janie is kidnapped, drugged, and trying to figure out who is the man behind the mask.
When we find out who is behind this scheming.... you won't know what hit ya.
This is the grand finale and what a finale it is, we find out some things that unless you've 'read the previous books you'll know about but if not, I'm not going to divulge because I don't want to spoil things
I rec'd a copy and voluntarily leave my own thoughts
Janie and Brent know that they are meant for each other but, they have quite a few obstacles to get over before they can have their happily ever after. They finally find the person who has tried to destroy them ===Or have they??!!
Can't wait 'til the next story!!!
3.5 stars- TWISTED END is the third of three parts in the introductory story line of Tara Thomas’ SONS OF BROAD romantic, suspense series. This is police officer /investigator Janie Roberts, and wealthy playboy philanthropist Brent Taylor’s continuing story line. TWISTED END should not be read as a stand alone as it picks up immediately following the events of part two HIDDEN FATE
NOTE: if you have not read the first two serialized instalments there may be some spoilers in my review.
Told from several third person perspectives including Janie and Brent TWISTED END is the conclusion to a three-part serialized story line focusing on the take down of a serial killer targeting young women in the Charleston area. With Janie Roberts missing, her best friend and fellow police officer Alyssa Adams, along with Janie’s boyfriend Brent Taylor, discover the true identity of the man stalking our story line heroine. With the killer one step ahead, Brent and Alyssa track down a man who is more than familiar to the story line characters. What ensues is the search and rescue of Janie Roberts, and the potential fall out as one man goes down while another remains on the run.
TWISTED END is a very quick read; a lively, action-packed, intriguing conclusion to the introductory story line that introduces the players in a game of cat and mouse. Although the identity of ‘The Gentleman’ in charge has yet to be revealed, my suspicions run towards a prominent figure in the Charleston area- a man who will continue to target and terrorize the local female inhabitants. The premise is energetic; the characters are animated; the romance is fated towards a happily ever after. The identity of the killer is easily deduced early on in the series; the identity of ‘The Gentleman’ in charge is an on-going puzzle but I have my suspicions. The series continues with Tilly Brock's story DARKEST NIGHT (February 27, 2018).
I will add, that in all honesty, I am not a fan of serialized novels, and my rating would have been higher if I did not have to review a little at a time. It is difficult to comment for any serialized story line, when there is little to no difference between each progressive instalment on the author’s writing style, world building etc. A serialized novel is ONE book that has been divided into several instalments with each successive instalment furthering the story-thusly-writing a myriad of reviews for a partial story tends to focus on the events and not on any particular changes to writing skill, structure and sound.

M/F Thriller
Triggers: Kidnapping and Murder
Janie and Brent are racing for their lives. This starts right where the previous novella stopped, and this did not disappoint. It's constant action from beginning to end.
Despite the puppet master still pulling strings, for Janie and Brent, their story comes to somewhat of an end. They believe that everything will be okay and I really was glad that Janie was able to keep her relationships intact.
There are still bad people lingering, but hopefully all of those questions will be answered in the true series, which I also recommend reading.
This review is for the three Sons of Broad prequels: Shattered Fear, Hidden Fate & Twisted End.
Strong, compelling characters pull readers into a thrilling story that fills readers with suspense and holds them hostage until the very end. This new series is off to a strong start with a series of three prequels that are fast paced, full of edge of the seat suspense, lifelike characters and steamy romance.
The author brought the story to life with well written words that provided vibrant imagery that makes it easy for the readers to picture each and every scene which keeps them glued to the pages and embroiled in the thrilling danger with surprising twists that keep readers guessing and a romance that is sweet and steamy. The first two prequels Shattered Fear and Hidden Fate end is hair raising cliffhangers, so you do have to read all three to get to the happily ever after but even with the romantic conclusion for Janie and Brent, there are still mysteries to be solved and bad guys to catch so the series will continue with the first full length novel Darkest Night and I am looking forward to reading the coming books in the Sons of Broad series.
Janie and Brent's story concludes in this final thrilling prequel novella for the Sons Of Broad series.
Fast-paced, the loose ends from the previous novellas are tied up. Future protagonists are introduced, setting the scene for the remaining full-length novels in this series. So far, I'm totally hooked as I crave to know who The Gentleman is, securing my interest until the revealing of his identity. Numerous clues are revealed and as I've mentioned previously, I have a hunch who he may be...time will tell. Until then, I'll remain invested in the narrative and characters until the investigation into this enigmatic villain is solved.
If you love romantic suspense, I highly recommend this series by Tara Thomas. The intriguing narrative is a well-balanced mix of suspense and a sexy romance. I'm not usually a fan of novellas, but in this case, it worked for me, reading them back to back. The positive aspect of this style of introduction to a new series? Spreading much content to allow readers like me to absorb and understand who all the players are without feeling overwhelmed. I can't wait to dive into the next full-length instalment.

I was super excited to get this one and read it after the previous 2 novellas, I still wish that all three novellas were just put as one book. I understand what the author was trying to do here but it didn't hit the mark for me.
I was holding my breath through a lot of this one. I will admit I want to continue the story, I want to find out who Gentleman is. So many things that I still need to know!!!
I read this one super quick and hope that someone catches those typos :P
Twisted End is the third novella in the introductory serial that started with Shattered Fear, then Hidden Fate and now the conclusion. These three novellas started the Sons of Broad Series by Tara Thomas. While the next release is a full novel these three follow each other, together being the complete story of Janie and Brent. If you were to start reading with Twisted End, most likely you would feel that you were beginning in the middle of a story. That would be correct, so read these in order for best understanding and enjoyment.
The tension and suspense are ramped up in the third novella. It is much more intriguing as the first novella was. The momentum that was lost in the second is found in Twisted End. The part of the story starts out exactly where Hidden Fate ends. I found that some of my questions concerning the closest villain is explained as well as the HEA for Janie and Brent. Though all vilest is not caught, the intrigue is building with clues given. Still I found the conclusion to be satisfying. I’m hooked now determined to find out who “The Gentleman” really is.
This is an intriguing twisted conclusion to the novella prequels. While not completely necessary I do recommend you read these prequels before you start the full length book series. The characters we've met in these prequels will have full length stories in the upcoming series. Reading these in order is essential for you to follow the story. Twisted End picks up right where Hidden Fate leaves off. The Gentleman (whoever he is) is still causing havoc, Janie and Brent are still looking for their HEA, and the story still has more to come. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.
