I don't know what to say about this, I liked Liam and Del, I wasn't keen on Abi, and though I have read mfm before and enjoyed it, I didn't want Liam to be hurt.
I received a copy from NetGalley and I am voluntarily leaving my own honest opinion
I didn't realy like this book or any of the characters. Abi was just slutty and irresponsible with no good qualities. Liam and Del were equally flat and the plot soooo borrrring... The sex parts were ok I guess, but not enough to save the book.
Taboo storyline with lots of back and forth and sex thrown in. Book was just ok to me.
X Marks The Spot is so flaming hot, even Lucifer left the building. This is how I like my menage romance - pure fantasy. It's a deliberate stimulation of the reader's mind and body *wink* As you read, you will find yourself crushing your thighs together like a flower in your hand. Its a graphic and shameless erotic fantasy between Abi and Liam and their friend Del. Forget highlighting certain passages. Every sexual encounter is hot with sexual fulfillment guaranteed to give you pleasure. This is a story about what happens when three people surrender to the freedom of having no choice but to seek pleasure and enjoy it in its most pure abandonment.
*2.5* The blurb sounded pretty good on this and I thought why not give it a go? Unfortunately this book wasn't for me. I like a menage but 3/4 of the book felt more like a triangle.
There was areas that the book felt choppy to me, like it was one scene than would jump to a different one which had me going back and re-reading thinking I had missed something. I hadn't. *Sigh*
It did have some sexy times but honestly would have liked a better story to go with it.
I really enjoyed Abi, Del and Liam's story for the most part. I did find Abi a little annoying at parts, but I can imagine her heartbreak and being in love with two different men. I thought the circumstances were well done and believable and I thought that Liam was probably the most well developed character of the three and I definitely felt something for him. At the beginning there was a little tease that we might see Liam and Del do a little M/M, but this was definitely a M/F/M story. I enjoyed the story and liked how it ended up. There were some really hot scenes in here. It was a good story.
This book was confusing for me because it had certain elements I loved and the rest I did not. I loved the dirty, sexy moments between Abi and her men (Del and Liam). On the hot meter this book would rate at 100.
The main problem I had with this book is that I could not connect with the characters and that made the book difficult to read. The writing is great but I think Abi was not really a sympathetic character. I hated the way these two men were treated by her. Even though this story drove me crazy, I will read another book by this author because this book did have hot moments.
I received an ARC copy of this book from the publisher and NetGalley for a honest review.
If you love taboo romance novels then X Marks the Spot by Opal Carew is your book. I struggled with this book as it went too far with the taboo. The sexy scenes were hot but not enough to save the book. Abi has a close network of friends who are enmeshed with her family. In fact, she married one, Liam but should have held out for Del. A wedding brings these three together again. Abi sleeps with her husband and Del says he's willing to give their romance a chance. Abi just can't keep her legs closed and she gets pregnant by her husband, Liam who has always wanted a baby with her. However, Abi would just rather be with Del instead of here husband. It was totally a messed up story.
I struggled with this book, giving it only a 2-star rating, and honestly that’s being generous. The only reason I gave it that is because I enjoyed the intimate scenes and felt they had some depth to them. I enjoyed the character Del, but in addition to that it was thumbs down for me. This story had no exciting plot to it, although there was some potential, it just fell flat. I do not recommend this book, unless you want to read some steamy sex scenes then you may enjoy it quite a bit.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
I could not connect with the main female character at all. I also noticed a few glaring contradictions in the book, one that was specifically crucial to the storyline.
I will not be reviewing this book.
Thank you for sending me this ARC.
DNF at 29%. Couldn't stand Abi. She sleeps with her husband who she wants a divorce from and then the next say tries to sleep with her best guy friend. No. The dialogue during sex was creepy. Who says "fill me with your seed" IRL? I read some other reviews to see if it was worth continuing and it seems it wasn't. This just wasn't my cuppa.

Wasn’t sure which direction this book was gonna go. And couldn’t figure out who Abi was gonna choose. Glad I read this one. This author never lets me down and gives me super steamy romances.
Thanks NetGalley for the arc in exchange for my honest review.
Abi the main character has been trying to get her divorce from her husband, Liam for 2 years. She has always had a thing for her brother's friend Del. After attending her brother's wedding Abi decides to make a move on Del but is mistaken when she realizes she is in fact in Liam's bed as there was a change in rooms. There is hot and sizzling moments between Liam and Abi. The sexual tension between the two can be cut with a knife. Abi just cannot resist Liam. After deciding that she needed to tell Del exactly how she felt, Del and her hook up. They make a good match but nothing like the tension between Liam and her. The story takes a huge twist one, that I just couldn't relate to or wrap my head around. The three of them end up in this menage a trois. The intimate scenes were very hot and totally sizzling. But I just could not wrap my head around how Liam could just be willing to share his husband in order to have her in his life and Del willing to be a part of this as well. Because I could not relate to this concept I found myself missing the romance aspect of the book. As for the rest of the book, it was very erotic and definitely hit a home run.
This was a bit of a hard book to get through. Chemistry out the wazoo, but I didn't connect with the heroine. Abi came off a bit selfish and whiny. She dangled Liam and Del and strung them both on longer than I would have liked.
Overall, it was a decent enough book, but the lack of connection made it a bit of a struggle to get through.
Ugh! I am not sure if I am just not into this genre anymore, or if this was a truly bad book, but as much as I tried, there was nothing in this book I liked. I could not get into the characters, the plot was nothing, and all it seemed to be was a book about a ménage a trois. I haven’t read a lot of erotica lately because they seemed short on good plots, and I feel as if there should be a decent story to compliment the erotica. Unfortunately, this book did not have it.
This is one of those books That will either appeal to you or be a huge turnoff. For me it was a turnoff. I enjoy multiple partner books but I do not enjoy cheating and that played a very large part in this read. Character wise, Liam was likable and I could feel for him, Del was alright, but honestly some friend!, and Abi, well she was totally unlikable and a complete train wreck. In my opinion, she did not deserve Liam. A more immature, self centered, borderline cray-cray character I have not seen. Even the steam and drama could not save this one.
This one is a unique and different kind of MFM read. It has interesting story and plot.
It sure has plenty drama that keep me going, wondering what will happen next and how this twisted relationship will end.
Plenty hotness that super hot.
Not a big fan of the characters though and it's a rushed at the end. I could've really liked this story, but one of the characters really ruined everything for me, so yeah... all the time all I can feel is frustration towards this character.
As for characters, I didn't like Abi at all, I can't understand her train of thought, how easily she jumps from Liam to Del and go back again to Liam, she loves him but can't be with him but still she spend time with him, yup it's frustrating, she's so selfish, it's like she took advantages from Liam and Del, she takes their love for granted, I want to slap her most of the time, she's really ruined this story for me.
And Liam and Del, well these two are super sweet men, love their tenacious when it comes to the one they love, love how they will do anything for their love.
I like the hotness this throuple bring, but not so much with the relationship, well it's a matter of preferences though, I can feel their struggles and pains but not so much with the love.
If you like MFM read packed with drama, you might like this one.

X Marks the Spot by Opal Carew is the story of Abi, Liam and Del.
Abi and Liam were married but Abi couldn't get her crush of Del, Liam best friend from her mind. When Liam and Abie break up she thinks now is her time to get with Del but Liam still wants her.
This story worked through the three people finding each other and working towards having something together.
This was a different type romance that might not be for everyone but I really enjoyed their story.
**Thank you to St. Martin's Press and NetGalley for the ARC with the understanding that any review provided will be my honest opinion of the book.**
This is a stand alone novel by Opal Carew. I have enjoyed novels and series by her in the past but his one was a bit different. I think that lots of people will truly enjoy the sexy and sensual aspects of the love triangle between Abi, Liam, And Del. I personally, however had issues with it. I actually am not into stories that involve polyamorous relationships that much. I may have liked it more if Abi was more of a dominant personality where her emotions are concerned. The story itself was very well written and moved along at a pretty good pace. I just prefer my leading lady to be the one in charge. I give this one 3 out of 5 stars. The book is being released tomorrow and you can grab a copy at Amazon or your favorite retailer.
Was an interesting story. But I found myself warring with the characters. Especially Abi. I found her pretty immature and selfish. I liked Liam and Del but I found Abi took away from it. While the concept was good. Just felt it missed the mark for me.
3.5 stars
X Marks the Spot by Opal Carew was an interesting take on a love triangle. Abi loved Del for years, but they never seemed to have their right moment. She met Liam and married him, Del’s best friend. But now Abi and Liam’s marriage is falling apart. Could this be Abi’s second chance with Del? But Liam never stopped loving Abi and is determined to win her back.
And so, Abi, Del and Liam’s journey begins. When all three are attending Abi’s brother wedding, they each have a plan. Abi is determined to have her chance with Del. Del wants Abi and Liam is determined to fight for her. How will it all end?
Abi wants one man but has history with another. Now everything is so mixed up, how doe she chose? I struggled with Abi and found her to be a bit selfish, but at the same time, I could not even imagine being in her position. Liam and Del were both sexy and strong men, but could they share the woman they want? This book was a bit angsty and very steamy.
