Book Review: ♥ ♥
I love taboo romance novels but this one went too far. It was messed up with a capital F. The sexy scenes were hot but not enough to save the book. I wanted Liam to get his wife back... if he wanted her. I've read a few of Opal Carew's books and have enjoyed them but I'm sorry this one is a no from me.
Abi has a close network of friends who are entangled with her family. She married one, Liam but should have held out for Del. A wedding brings these three together. Abi sleeps with her husband and Del says he's willing to give there romance a chance. Abi can't keep her legs closed. She gets pregnant by her husband. Liam has always wanted a baby with his wife but she wants to be with Del. It's so F***'d up.
Scandal, drama and a lot of sex.
You'll either hate it or love it. The ending makes sense and has a happy ever after.
2 stars out of 5. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I had never read a book by this author so thought I would give it a go.
Abi wants to divorce Liam because he left her emotionally isolated when she lost their baby. Still married two years on she wants a relationship with Del.Liam and her brothers best friend who she had a crush on before she married Liam.
Liam however does not want a divorce,he still loves Abi.
Chemistry is present between Abi and both men so what follows is an exploration of who she loves the most and you wait for her to decide.
Abi in my mind is a bit selfish and whiny and at times she is rather self indulgent.
Good writing makes me like her one minute and dislike her the next. Liam as a dom and then passive in a menage is rather confusing but anything is possible.
It didn't take me long to read, kept me interested and turning the pages. Therefore worth 3 stars as a relaxing easy read.

I was invited by St. Martin’s Press to read and review this title through an email I received, then downloaded via NetGalley. I briefly read the synopsis provided in the email before downloading the book.
Unfortunately, this turned out to be a disappointment for me. It was not what I expected, based on the blurb provided. The characters - their emotions, actions and reactions - did not seem believable to me. There was a premise to this story but it was poorly executed.
This just wasn’t for me.
Most of the books by this author that I’ve read are sports romances. But I have read this series and it is just as well written as any of her stories. She never disappoints and brings the characters to life on each page.
A tequila bar is hardly the place Reese expected to being working but she’s comfortable there for now. She just can’t stand two things – her boss who seems to sleep with every woman who comes in - and the food menu at the bar. So she’s trying to ignore the first and subtly change the second.
Cade isn’t about to change anything in his life, he’s comfortable with things as they are. But he wants Reese and he has a policy to never sleep with employees. There is just something about her that he can’t figure out and it is driving him crazy. As much as he tries, he can’t stop wanting her and he is willing to break the rules to get her.
I loved the twists and turns of the story, not knowing just how the next event would unfold. Great style, characters, and overall love story with the requisite HEA!
I received an ARC from the publisher for an honest and unbiased review. No compensation was promised or received for this review
WOW, HOT HOT you must read this book. Loved it from beginning to end
Since I'm not particularly a fan of this author, it floored me to find the book on my NetGalley shelf. I sure never would have requested it. It showed up automatically. I hope it doesn't happen again.
The book is OK. I've read a few things from this author, and it's probably the best of the lot. That isn't saying much though.
I had a terrible time feeling anything for any of the characters, despite the author's attempt to make them sympathetic... to the point of being annoying. Carrying on over and over about their heartaches just got repetitious and boring. They are three oddballs without the charm of a good oddball character. Just three moaners.
The author seems to love to write about three-way romances, so with that in mind, she ought to pay closer attention to the physical act of what they are doing so that it doesn't sound ridiculous. In one instance, one of the gentlemen seems to have fingers growing out of the top of his head- or maybe it was his nose... I had to read it three times to figure out how he could be doing what he was doing. He couldn't.
Another aspect to the book I found very odd was the way the h was supposedly infertile.
*SPOILER ALERT*
Then amazingly, with no medical intervention, she started popping out babies. If' you're going to use that theme to make someone sympathetic, then stick to it, for heaven's sake!
*END SPOILER*
So if you're into polyamorous affairs, go ahead and read it. It's OK, just wildly ridiculous.
Abi is getting divorced but it's taking two years to get her husband, Liam, to sign the papers. He thinks they can work it out. But Abi wants to move on with her friend Del, who's also Liam's best friend. At her brother's wedding, she waits for Del in his bed. But awakes to find Liam. Liam believes she wants to reconcile and they go at it like bunnies because she still loves Liam but he wasn't there when she needed him. Liam is very rich and will do anything to get his wife back, even coerce her to spend a couple of weeks with him. She agrees as long as Del can come too. Both men love her and are not about to give her up. Abi doesn't want to give either man up, so can they come to an agreement? I'll be honest at first I didn't like where she was supposed to be in love with Del and having sex with Liam. Even though they are still legally married, so I also felt when she was having sex with Del, she was cheating on Liam, even though they were separated. But at the end it turned out alright. * Voluntarily read and reviewed this for Netgalley *
This book was just okay for me. I've only read one other book by this author, and that book grabbed my attention pretty quickly. This one on the other hand, just left me ambivalent and struggling to finish or really care about how it ended.
Can I give a negative star?!?! WTF !! Abi is a selfish, imature, manipulative annoying female lead... Liam can't love me for me, just married me because I became preggers. I love Liam and Del! I am married to Liam but trying to sleep with Del.(seperated.. 2years). Won't stay married to Liam because he was only child and wants family & they believe she can't become pregnant ever. But when she does, she does NOT intend to tell Liam he is going to be a dad!! The one thing she insists she can't give him therefore staying married isn't an option and she isn't going to tell him he's going to be a dad!!! That is the last straw! Not only is she a horrible character, but no one, NO ONE deserves not to be in their child's life!
This is a DNF for me! I just can't enjoy reading a book that makes me angry and annoyed. Books are an escape, relaxing, enjoyable. This book is none of those.
Gifted read by Netgalley for an honest review.
I honestly don't recommend reading.
I hate being negative when author's put their heart and soul in books and give me hours of enjoyment and escapism, but this book and this story is just not one I can stomach finishing!
X Marks The Spot by Opal Carew is a great read, this is a menage book though, so it may not be for everyone. Ms. Carew has delivered a well-written book. Kudos to Ms. Carew for writing this in 3rd person because all these 1st person, alternating point of view books are getting old. Abi is trying to get her husband Liam to sign divorce papers. She wants to start a romantic relationship with their friend Del. Liam is still in love with Abi and has been refusing to sign the papers. Their story is loaded with drama, humor, blazing hot sex and a bit of angst. Thankfully the angst isn't overpowering. I enjoyed reading X Marks The Spot and look forward to reading more from Opal Carew in the future. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.
I voluntarily read an Advance Reader Copy of this book that I received from NetGalley.
This has to be one of the most emotional books I have read by Opal Carew, she captures all the pain and heartache of loosing a baby so accurately and how much it affects everyone. There is so much pain these characters felt and continue to deal with when dealing with, it is such a huge mountain to get past in their lives. Del is just the sweetest and most understanding character in this story, I just kept waiting for Abi to make up her mind and leave Liam and go to Del but then the super hot shower scene happen and WOW!!! The mix up at the wedding was a little crazy and I loved it! Then they all treaveled to the island hotels and so hot! The ending was spectacular and just perfect for these three. Great writing and a real page turner of a book, that you can't put down!
I thought that this was ok. I had a hard time getting into this book. I am not sure if it was because she didn't believe that Liam didn't love her and it was a frustrating cycle and her reasoning behind it. Her self esteem was low and she made excuses for why Liam married her. Her thoughts were the same and did not change and was annoying. Abi has had a crush on Del for a long time and her thinking about persuading Del to be with her was a huge deal on her part. Liam seems like a strong character and so does Del. I just found myself skipping over some of these page a lot. I do know this author is very good and writing HOT scenes and those are usually scorching. I just had a hard time getting into this one. I am not sure if it was because I knew where this was headed before it got there. I don't honestly know. I did like that we were able to read everyone's POV. You understood what each character was thinking. Not bad. Just predictable on my end.
I received this ARC from the publisher via Net Galley for my honest review. Thank you Net Galley!!!!
Great book. The plot was interesting and moved along. The characters were interesting, the guys (Liam and Del) we're amazing. REALLY.
First book by this author......was very jumpy for the first few chapters then seemed to even out... Had a good romantic story.
Thought this book was good. The first few chapters were all jumpy and didn't really make any since. But afterwards it started to flow a lot better. Enjoyed the romance dynamic between all three of them.
