Isobel Dounreay Lochlannach is a fierce and independent Scots lass. She has no intention to marry & definitely not an Englishman. Whilst staying in Newcastle she meets a devilish stable lad whilst out riding, she can’t help but sneak a kiss with the handsome stranger, sure to never see him again.
Edward Nick Wyeth is not a stable lad. He’s Viscount Stirling, and heir to one of the most powerful dukes in the realm. If their indiscretion is discovered, Isobel will be forced to marry him, to succumb to a fate she has always spurned. Nick wants nothing but to call this wild Scottish lass his own, and is determined to show her how an English Viscount can make her swoon, and be his forever.
A very enjoyable read & quite a change for the heroine to be determined not to marry. The characters were well fleshed & likeable. The story was well paced & kept my interest throughout, I did feel the ending was rushed & would have also liked an epilogue. I did wonder why Nick as heir to a Duke was only a Viscount & why a special marriage licence wasn’t procured after their confession. However if a special licence had been used then a crucial part of the story would have been missing.
My honest review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I thoroughly loved this book. I kept saying to myself, “Didn’t I read this already?” then the next page “No not this book”.
Halfway through the book I realized why I “Knew” some of the characters and the “Holes in the books in the Library” why that was confusing me. In a good way. This was the next story in a series of family. I loved the others and didn’t put the connection together till halfway in the book. This just made me enjoy it more. It is a standalone but I loved the connection to the characters I already knew and loved.
This is one of the best books i have read this year. The characters Nick and Isobel will have you laughing out loud by the way they interact with each other. Nick is a dreaded englishman whi!e Isobel is 100% Scot. While her parents are making her have a season in London to find a husband , Isobel is dead set on not marrying any man especially an Englishman. Then she meets Nick and the chemistry between them is explosive.
This is a wonderful read an i highly recommend it to anyone who loves to laugh!!
I received this book from Netgally for an honest review.
Very good story. Isobel and Nick are cute together, although it is a very rocky start to a relationship. I liked that Nick did not give up and finally managed to win over Isobel.
I am giving a fair and honest review for this ARC. You cannot go wrong with any book by Sabrina York. And i do so enjoy stories of braw Scots! This book does not disappoint! Such a well written story. Loved the characters and personalities. I think you would enjoy it too.
This is a new book-#5 in the Untamed Highlanders Series, and in this book we get to see Isobel, Susannah's daughter going to her first season, and if you have kept up with this series, she is the wild one! It was a great read.
While staying with friends of her family on the way to England, Isobel Dounreay Lochlannach decides to go out one day and ride, not wanting to meet any of the judgmental women of the ton. While out riding she runs into who she thinks is a devilish stable boy and they wind up kissing, which leads to meeting the next day! Passion ignites, however what Isobel doesn't realize is the man she has been seeing is actually none other than Nick Wyeth. He’s Viscount Stirling, heir to one of the most powerful Dukes in the realm. Nick finds out who she is, and follows her to London as he is enamored of Isobel.
When they do meet again Isobel is so mad! She accuses Nick of lying! She also tells him that she never wants to marry an English anything! However, Nick is half Scot! He has no problem wooing her in his kilt, and he does have a Scottish accent! And well, although a confirmed bachelor, he is willing to change his tune.
Reading this book I laughed so much at some of the high jinx the whole family gets into. It's not easy dragging the whole clan to England, and their Aunt Esmeralda is with them! There are 10 kids too, that go with them. They all want to be like Isobel-wild and carefree.
Read this book and see how Nick and Isobel wind up and if they can work out their differences! I have enjoyed reading this whole series and highly suggest you read all of this series, it's awesome to read about all of the characters in each book!
I gave this book 5*****stars and can't wait for the next one! here are the other books in this series:
Hannah and the Highlander
Susana and the Scot
Lana and the Laird
The Highlander is all that
A book worthy of wild child Isobel Dounreay Lochlannah! Yay Sabrina gave us her story and gave us a Hero worthy of that determined, independent free spirit of a child we met in her Aunt Hannah and Mother Susannah's books #1 & #2. I have to say, Isobel stole any scene she was in as a child. She was such a force and this book gives us her hero who loves her just the way she is. Perfection!
Edward Nicholas Wyeth, Viscount Stirling, heir to the Duke of Moncrieff is "Nick" to his friends and when they want to tease him they call him "Edward The Third" as there are so many proliferating in the family and friend circle. He likes to escape his title occasionally and just go for a ride on his horse and be an everyday man. Out on one of these jaunts he stumbles on Isobel riding a stallion at breakneck speed toward a washed out bridge she can't see. He "rescues" her and she's fighting mad since she had the horse under control being an excellent horsewoman. She was working off a temper in her favorite way. She's on her way for her first Season in London and the Marriage Mart she doesn't want. She made up her mind ages ago she wasn't marriage material. Edward has always remained unentangled not wanting to be tied down to a woman. There is instant attraction and Isobel decides to find out what passion is all about since she'll never marry and she's never felt attraction for anyone before. Neither one knows who the other is. She thinks him a stable hand and he figures she's someone Scot maid. How very WRONG they are.
They meet again in London and sparks fly as Isobel feels lied to and Nick just wants her and knows no one that compares with her. I loved how Nick tries to problem solve into Isobel's heart and Isobel is so true to her character all through the book. I wondered how Sabrina would change her mind about marriage since she's so stubborn but she did a great job. I adored everything about this story but then I have always been captured by the heart Sabrina pours into her stories.
Thank you St. Martin's Press and Sabrina York for granting me a NetGalley ARC for my honest review.
This book has bonnie lass, Isobel, in lust (or is it love?) with a gorgeous stable hand who is actually an English Viscount, Nick. (Isobel is the hellion, 5 year old from book #2 in this series, Susana and The Scot) Nick doesn’t get to set her straight until they meet in London for the Season. Nick is in love with Isobel but Isobel has a deep prejudice against Englishmen and especially English Lords. Her attraction to Nick doesn’t wane when she finds out his station but she is determined not to marry him.
If you are looking for dialog that runs the gamut from eloquent to witty to sexy, if you like sexual tension that makes your own heart pound and if you want a darn good plot, this is the book for you. It is a standalone book but characters from previous books in the series do play important roles in this book. Did I mention that there are laugh-out-loud moments, sexy times, as well as some adventure. You can’t go wrong if you like those handsome Highlanders, Scots, English Lords and smart conniving Mamas as well as a feisty heroine. I highly recommend this book as well as this most entertaining series.
Untamed Highlanders Series:
Hannah and The Highlander (Deet’s review Sept. 2015- 4.5 stars)
Susana and The Scot (Deet’s review, January 2016-4.5 stars)
Lana And The Laird (Deet’s review June 2016- 4 stars)
The Highlander is all that (somehow I missed reading this one)
What A Highlander’s Got To Do (today’s review)
Sabrina York's books are always delightful and steamy and this one didn't disappoint. I loved the insane chemistry between Isobel and Nick. The game of cat and mouse between them really added to the sexual tension. I really liked that Nick new what he wanted and didn't try to deny his feelings but embrac He them. But what I loved most about this book were all the characters we've come to love from Sabrina's other books and series coming together in this book. It was like a huge family reunion, so entertaining and funny. It added a levity to the book that was very refreshing. A beautiful love story with the right amount of drama and a hint of suspense!
ARC provided by NetGalley.
I loved Isobel and Nick's story!! I fell in love with Isobel during her mother and father's story, Susana and the Scot, so I was excited to see that York had written her story.
Nick and Isobel meet while in the country and neither knows who the other one is, which causes some issues down the line. They quickly give into their passions but are then separated. When they meet up again, they learn each other true identity. Nick couldn't be happier as he wants Isobel as his wife. Isobel on the other hand, doesn't want to get married as she thinks she will lose her independence. But she has fallen in love with Nick, so what is a girl to do??
I was disappoint with the last book in the series, but am happy to say that this book was one of my favorites of the series!
Slowly but surely Sabrina York becoming one of my favorite historical romance authors. She just knows how to create a gripping and thoroughly entertaining book.
I wasn't disappointed with this one too. The main character Isobel was a force to be reckoned with. She was smart, witty, independent and knew how to protect herself. She never search for a man to be her guardian or the one who will own her like some kind of the property. Of course, she had some flaws, but who doesn't?
Also, I like how Sabrina York creates her male characters. All of them, are respectful towards females, even though they are portrayed as alfa-men.
So, I do recommend reading this or any other of Sabrina's books, they are worth a shot.

Nick wants nothing but to call this wild Scottish lass his own, and is determined to show her how an English Viscount can make her swoon, and be his forever in What a Highlander’s Got To Do by New York Times bestselling author Sabrina York.
My Thoughts:
This book is a page turner. I couldn't put it down!
It is a laugh a minute, even in times of danger. So funny and well written that I completed it on just two sittings.
When Isobel meets Nick she mistakes him for a stable boy. He is after all dressed like one rather than the nobleman he is.
He is drawn to the feisty young woman in spite of his wish to never wed.
Isobel also intends to remain unwed, but after meeting Nick will she change her mind?
I loved this book! Even if you have never before read a
Sabrina York title, start with this well written, historical romantic comedy.
I gave this book 4.75 of 5.0 stars for storyline and characterization and a sensual rating of 3.75 of 5.0 flames. Our hero and heroine anticipate their vows with the usual results.
I received a complimentary digital ARC of this book from the publisher via NetGalley to read and review. This in no way affected my opinion of this title which I read and reviewed voluntarily.
I have been waiting for Isobel Dounreay Lochlannach to grow up and have her own HEA. She stole many scenes in her mother and aunts’ books. I’m not sure her grandfather appreciated her arrows in his library books. Now grown, her mother has decided she needs a London season. Isobel disagrees, but at least her best friend, Catriona, is going to London also.
Isobel is staying with a family friend, Lady Willouby, in Newcastle until her family arrives. She can’t stay cooped up in the house while Lady Willouby has neighbors for tea, so she convinces the stable boy to tack up a stallion. As she’s galloping along, a man chases and pulls her off her horse. She is furious, but he shows her she was headed to the river with no bridge due to extensive flooding. The man was dressed as if he worked in a stable not a highwayman, and he wants a kiss as a reward. As she leaves, she says I might be here tomorrow. They meet for several days, but then she leaves for London without being able to say good-bye.
Nick, Viscount Stirling, returns to London for the season never expecting to see her again, but his sister tells him about her new Scottish friend Isobel and he is thrilled. Isobel does not want an English lord, even if he is half Scot and she’s angry with him for not telling her. The ups and downs to their HEA are such fun to read. I love this book and can highly recommend it.
Sabrina York is a wonderful writer, but her books are usually hit or miss for me. This one was, unfortunately, a miss. I thought it moved way too quickly in the beginning, when the two main characters had sex after just meeting each other. It was insta-lust, and it put a damper on the relationship for me. I don't mind characters hopping into bed quickly in contemporary romance, but I prefer a more tempered romance in historical. It seemed out of place to me for the time period, with very little build-up before sex. I also didn't care for how the hero was fine "deflowering" her when she was a maid, but once he realizes she's a peer, he all of a sudden thinks she's too good for a quick roll in the hay. It just showed a lack of respect for women that, while I know it was the norm back then, was a turnoff for me when seen in the hero of a story.
I loved the story of Nick and Isobel. With the way it was written, I could just see him in his kilt in my mind by the descriptions given! Isobel is extremely strong minded and knows what she wants, or at least she thought she did until she met Nick. Nick sets out to win her and has his hands full! The ending was pretty awesome I must say!
I’ve read several Sabrina York books and enjoyed them. I also enjoyed this one, but have to say, it doesn’t read like one of her books. I’ve found most authors have a certain style, and this one is distinctively different from her others, though I did like it. The story involves a Scot’s lass and a charming English Lord, though she doesn’t initially know he’s a Lord, and he doesn’t realize what she is either. Meeting up again in London, she’s angry he never told her who he was. Madly attracted to each other, they eventually are betrothed, though she says she’ll never marry, anyone ever. He’s madly in love and continues to pursue their relationship. Lots of passion, and a HEA.
Not much to say. It felt like most other historical romance novels set in Scotland. I have read many and I do love the hate to love trope. This was cute and I always enjoy a bad ass female character.
Isobel will soon be in London to partake in the marriage mart and she couldn’t be less thrilled. As a Scottish lass the last thing she wants is to marry an Englishman. However, the handsome stable lad, Nick, which she’s come to know intimately could make a girl think twice.
Nick is driven by passion and desire when he rescues a wild and brazen Scottish lady. Everything about her amuses or arouses him and he yearns for more moments with her. When she disappears he’s afrain he’ll never see her again. Good fortune is on his side when he finds her again in London. Unfortunately, he’s not what she’s looking for in a husband but she’ll keep him as a lover.
This was an entertaining read with plenty of humor, lots of steam and a tad of angst. The banter between this couple was so cute and charming. I loved that Nick went into automatic alpha mode whenever another man even so much as looked at Isobel.
There is a bit of push from Isobel as she is determined to remain an independent woman and return to her homeland. My heart hurt for Nick as he longed for everything from her but was brusquely informed he could expect no more than what they already had.
The ending had a bit of drama and then a small epilogue that didn’t give us too much look into their future. Overall, this was a very enjoyable read.
This is an honest review of an advanced copy provided by NetGalley and St. Martin’s Press Swerve.

This is the second book I have read in this series and I really need to go back and read the rest. They are just so much fun to read. Light and frothy, this book left a smile on my face.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review and I am so glad I did because I enjoyed every second of it.
Fiercely independent and sworn to never marry, especially one of those padded peacock English Lords, Isobel Dounreay Lochlannach takes off on a wild ride only to be swept off her feet by a handsome stranger. Nick Wyeth aka Viscount Stirling, is mesmerized by the sight of the beautiful Scottish lass, and while he has sworn himself to bachelorhood, one taste of her sweet lips, and he knows he must have more. Isobel’s fear of losing her independence threatens to destroy the love growing between her and Nick. So what’s a Highlander got to do to win the love of this wild Scottish lass?
For those of us that have been following Sabrina York’s Untamed Highlanders series, this installment is exactly what we have been waiting to read! Finally! Isobel gets her own story! *Happy Dance*
As with all of the books in this series, it can be read as a standalone, but I always recommend reading the entire series to fully enjoy the characters!
