A vibrantly colorful picture book that may become a “read it to me again” favorite. Zaza plays doctor, attending to her toy animal friends. Zaza is a little girl but American and British readers may not be familiar with a first name such as this—especially since animal characters in the book have names like “Rosie” and “George.” (Parents may need to explain.) The book is a translation from the original language. That said, here is a sweet picture book, perfect for reading with sick toddlers or to nurture caring actions in them. Zaza inspects for a sore throat, a fever, a scratch, and more. Four stars.

Fun read with kids. Interesting facts. Good illistrations. Helps kids understand some issues and not be afraid of the doctor or to not be afraid of telling the doctor what issues they may have. Would recommend..

A cute book about a little girl who spends the day making sure all of her friends are healthy and well. Zaza dresses up as a doctor, and checks up on all of her stuffed animals. An adorably short book that is perfect to read to your little ones when they arnt feeling well or even possibly before a doctors appointment to help famililarize themselves with the situation.

I received a copy of this book on NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Another cute book in the Zaza series. If you are looking for a brightly colored, adorably illustrated book with a simple yet fun story, check this out. Bonus points for a child of color as the main character who is just being a child. Representation is so important and I’m glad to add this to my list of books to display.

This is the second Zaza book I have read – the first being Celebrate with Zaza. What I like about Mylo’s books is the text simplicity for younger children. It gets to the point and allows children to engage in the story as much with the text as it does with the illustrations. Mylo has managed to capture what children do really well and I love that this particular book encourages pretend play – for instance at the end when one toy needs a bandage…so they all will want a bandage! This is typical kid behaviour for the target age and as an adult it gave me a giggle as well.

“Calling Dr. Zaza” is cute, short and sweet. Kids will enjoy reading it and pretending to be a doctor for their toys, too.

This is a cute story about pretend and taking care of sick friends. There were beautiful illustrations that my kids (2 and 5) used to create more details in the story. Overall, we enjoyed this story and it's great for a young audience or a beginner reader.

A nice little story about Zaza who plays make-believe with her toy animals; today her animals are not feeling well, and she is playing doctor. It's great that this book encourages imaginative play, and also alludes to a number of procedures which would be use by real medical / healthcare staff; this would be a good book to read to a young one who is due to go and see a doctor or nurse, to normalise the scenario and prompt appropriate questions. The text is nice and clear, and the illustrations vibrant and fun.

This is a cute title featuring Dr Zaza working on her stuffed friends and tending to their injuries and illnesses. It's nice to see a child exploring the role of a doctor and what that means about showing empathy to others. The bright colors and endearing images will appeal to children 1-2 years old.

Poor Zaza. She wants to play with her stuffed animal friends but discovers they are all sick. Oh my! Whatever shall she do? Clever little Zara knows exactly what to do. She gets on her doctor's uniform and starts individual checkups to see what is causing this unwelcome epidemic.

She detects that Rosie has an earache, Bobby needs his heart monitored, George Giraffe has a very itchy sore throat, Pinkie feels overly warm but once her temperature is checked seems fine, and Mo has a scratch on his head which is easily mended by applying a bandage. Whew! Everyone is lovingly taken care of but wait? The adorable recovered animals all want a bandage just like Mo's. Sweet Zaza is happy to comply making everyone happy. She wraps up her doctor's round by adding one more thing... can you guess what that might be?

The illustrations are bright, vibrant and draws the reader into each scenario. The text is simple enough for an emergent reader to tackle no problem. The book depicts different medical instruments and techniques used by a real medical doctor and would be wonderful to share with a child if a doctor's visit is on the horizon with a discussion to follow. I loved the fact that the little girl is one of colour and empowered to problem solve and heal all her favourite animal friends.

It’s time to play Doctor. Zaza has to make sure all of her stuffed friends are in good health.

A little girl plays doctor with her toys in what might be the most brightly colored book I’ve ever seen. She’s got the costume and all the accoutrements needed in the medical profession, like they’d been given to her for her birthday or something.
What I didn’t like was little Zaza going through the entire book without a single change of expression, like she’s just going through the motions and can’t wait to do something else. The artwork itself is colorful though broad, without much specificity. On the one hand that might be because it’s targeted for little kids, but on the other hand the subject matter might be more suitable for those a little bit older.

Caring story of imaginary friendship and love between a beautiful brown girl--Zaza-- and her animals. Akin to Doc McStuffins, Dr. Zaza's tale can go far into the large hearts of so many children who communicate in reality to their furry friends.

Here Zaza’s wonderful imagination is making the rounds, she is taking care of all the sick because she is playing at being a Doctor and her toys are her patients, and what a joy they are all in good health. Zaza is having the time of her life playing with her toys, in this cute book that helps kids along to using their imaginations. The illustrations are vibrant and colorful and are very eye-catching, it is an educative and fun way to learn.

This book was ok and the story was good and will keep little ones entertained. It helps to show them about being hurt and injured and that it can be fixed and not to worry - good for young readers and toddler age but above that can only see them reading it a couple of times. Nice images 3.5 stars from me rounded up to 4 for Amazon and Goodreads.

This delightful tale shows how to care for those who are ill as well as the importance of seeing a physician, with heartwarming images of stuffed animals being treated by a young black doctor.

A simple yet inspiring story for little children, teaching them how to take care of the others. The development of emotional intelligence is an important step forward towards growing up and the role of such books is to get them used with sharing basic feelings towards the others, starting with the little stuffed animals. The illustrations are colourful and inspiring too!
