Mia Sheridan always knows what she's doing. Loved this after reading Archer's Voice! I love a "second chance" especially when he's a "bad boy" now and we don't know why.
Beautiful story!! This was definitely a roller coaster! A true love story that kept me thinking a lot about life. I fell in love with the characters and the story was really well developed throughout the series. I loved it!!
Thank you to Forever (Grand Central Publishing) and to NetGalley for an ARC of this book.
I have read several books by this author before and when I saw this I knew I wanted to read it.
Mia Sheridan never disappoints! You get caught up in her characters and the story, she is such a good writer.
I really enjoyed this story, and will definitely recommend this book and read it again.

Sheridan's vivid descriptions and well-drawn characters create an immersive experience, evoking both emotion and introspection. "More Than Words" is a beautifully crafted love story that goes beyond romance, delving into the profound impact of connection on the human spirit, making it a memorable and touching read.
There is nothing like a Mia Sheridan book! Raw, emotional, and always with a twist to rock your world.
“More Than Words” is a romance novel by Mia Sheridan, a New York Times bestselling author. The book tells the story of Callen Hayes, a famous composer and infamous bad boy, who is struggling with his inner demons and has locked his music deep inside. When he withdraws to France to drink his way through the darkness, he stumbles into the one person who makes the music return: Jessica Creswell, his childhood friend and first love
I requested this title because it was recommended for fans of Lucy Score’s. Nope. Fooled me. It was a nice story and I probably would’ve enjoyed it more if I hadn’t been comparing it to Lucy Score, who is one of my favs. So I guess that’s my fault. I never quite felt the chemistry between Callen And Jessie. I just don’t think this one was for me, but I’ll definitely recommend it to people in the store.
When it's done well, I love the childhood bffs (who got separated) to lovers when they meet as adults trope, and this book certainly did a wonderful job. The childhood bffs arc was written was really wholesome manner, and it translated to the adults' part of the arc so well. Overall, this book was swoony and raw and good. The third act breakup was super painful though 🥲 but I loved the subsequent make-up and the hea

-- ty to the author, the publisher and Netgalley for an advanced copy!
This was overall sweet and a fast read/listen. Not my favorite Mia Sheridan book but not my least favorite. Mia is super talented and just has a way with words that keeps you fully engaged in the story. I could've done without Brandon's incessant self-loathing and sabotage. The ending was ridiculously cute, loved it. The audiobook was fantastically narrated. If you're looking for something sweet and romantic, childhood friends who reconnect and fall in love, then this is it.
Jessica and Callen are easy to root for and love. They're sweet characters with an awww love story. There are a couple of moments where I wanted to kick them, but I kept the faith that they would have their HEA. The setting is in France. Jessica's job is translating old writings so there is an interesting side story she's working on that's a bonus to the main couple's tale. I really enjoyed this and all the historical bits and descriptive scenery and sightseeing of France. More Than Words is written by one of my favorite authors, and as expected, she delivers the romance. This isn't my favorite book from her, but I liked it and do recommend it.
A romantic, magical and powerful fairy tale.
Be ready to live one of the "grandest adventure of all".
I felt like a little girl believing in magic, prince, castle... and wanting to believe in faith, hope and love.
Mia mixed romance with something new for her. I can't spoil but she really knew how to dose each element , each aspect of her story. We dream and we learn. We hurt and we love.
Jessie is us, women who want to believe that men can be honest and loyal. She dives in fairy tales like we dive in books. Searching for an escape, a better life, a magical one where we are strong and brave heroines finding our prince charming. She is the angel we expect when we know Mia's books. Pure, with a heart of gold, some feathers on her back that make her fly away from her past and toward the life she dreamt of. So brave, smart and impressive. But real life is not easy. People have their ghosts, their weaknesses, their scars.
Callen feels trapped by his demons. Each time he speaks about himself i hurt. Words can be worst than anything. He's a broken prince we'd like to save... But can we save people who don't fight? Can we save people who don't think they deserve it?
As always Mia writes poetry but she brings more... More than her words... A new... dimension. New dimensionS. And the magic happens ... and works.
Here we have a beautiful lesson of faith and bravery. Life can be good if we keep our eyes open. If we recognise and take gifts we are given. There's no regret to have if you follow your beliefs and hopes, not just words.
"LIVE FIERCELY AND WITHOUT REGRET".
I know how much Mia worked on this book and i assure you you won't be disappointed. I'm pretty sure you'll feel the need to re-read it. I can't praise her enough. She's full of surprises. And talent.
Thank you Mia Sheridan, for being so inspiring, for your trust, for your heart, for your words... You made me cry yes, but you also made me happy and proud. And no word is strong enough to thank you for that.
I ADORE this book. One of the most beautiful stories I've ever read, honestly. Beautiful and interesting and captivating.
I loved following along with their journey all the way from childhood, and the "story within a story" aspect of this book was amazing.
A truly unforgettable story that I will always treasure.
I love that this book was set mostly in France, and I love this second chance kind of romance where old friends who have grown apart are reunited again. The story was very heart-warming and sweet, yet there was still depth to the story. There are so many feels!! I love a troubled soul, which is exactly what Callen is. And Jessie (my sister's name!) is so smart and likeable. I highly recommend this story.
Once again Mia Sheridan delivers another beautifully written love story. By this point, everyone should know how much I love and admire her writing. Her stories always are captivating and although there is always some sort of heartache, she always redeems herself and mends my broken heart. There was no exception with More Than Words. Mia’s books are always have a special message behind them, and I promise you that the heartbreak will definitely be worth the HEA.
Callen and Jessica meet in an old boxcar in the middle of nowhere. This becomes their special meeting place where they are able to escape the horrible things that they are currently encountering. Abruptly Callen disappears and Jessica never knows where he has gone. Many years later, while Jessica is living in Paris, she runs in to Callen. Callen is oblivious to who Jessica is. Jessica knows who Callen is because he is a famous composer living a destructive life. Their second encounter is a little different since Callen recognizes Jessica. Callen is instantly drawn to Jessica and wants to spend time with her. Jessica doesn’t think it’s a good idea because their lifestyles are totally opposite.
At first I didn’t know how to feel about Callen. I didn’t think he deserved Jessica. He had a lot of growing up to do. Little by little I fell in love with his character. All it took was him falling in love and all the little things he did to win Jessica over. Of course there is so much more that I would rather not disclose.
If you’re anything like me who loves powerful emotional books, I recommend that you read More Than Words.
I can’t even find words to accurately describe this story. It’s so unique and there’s so much going on, so many emotions that I felt that I don’t even know how to explain. I mean towards the end I was so nervous, so shocked and so into these words that I was nervous to finish it! I wanted a fairy-tale ending, I wanted the happily-ever-after for both Callen and Jessie but the journey you have to take to get to it was long and treacherous.
I'm dead... just dead. I'm all kinds of in love with this book!!!! This was my first Mia Sheridan book and it certainly will not be my last.
It’s been a while since I ugly cried and this book tore me to shreds! More than Words broke me just in the prologue! I tell you, I have not cried this much since a few months ago! I have found an author whose backlist will be read by me!
Full disclosure, I received an ARC for this book last year but I wasn’t in the right mood to read it. This year, I decided to pick up the audiobook and listen to it instead. It was the best decision I ever made!
I absolutely fell in love with More than Words – the characters, the setting, and the emotions. While the story seems simple – lonely little girl meets broken little boy, they become best friends, the kiss, boy disappears, then meet years later and rekindle their relationship – but this book is more than that. I fell in love with Mia Sheridan’s writing and the emotions she put into this book. Yes, I had a box of tissues with me.
More than Words really spoke to me. As you may know, I am such a sucker for childhood lovers/second chance romance and this book checked all the boxes for me. This book is written in dual POV and I love it! Jessie’s POV was interesting, too because we also get to read certain passages of the letters she was translating. This letter was interesting to me because it was supposedly a letter written by Joan of Arc’s companion.
While More than Words had a simple storyline and Callen’s issue was very predictable. However, love how Mia Sheridan’s words slowly sucked me in. I actually listened to this book in almost one sitting because I really could not stop!
I felt so much pain for Callen. His struggles and when he finally realized his true worth was perfect. What he did to make himself worthy of Jessie’s love was a grand gesture that I think was absolutely needed.
As a side note, I LOLed out loud when Callen named his dog Pierre. As you know, my husband’s name is Pierre and I told him about this. I don’t think he was amused.
This book is read by Chelsea Hatfield & Jean-Paul Mordrake and I liked both narrators. This is the first that I’ve listened to them, too. One of the things I always look for in narrators are the voices they use. Jean-Paul Mordrake did not have a problem with this and he did not use an annoying high pitched voice for female voices. Thank God! Chelsea Hatfield’s voice is perfect for Jessie’s. Both have good pace and timing and I did not have any problems following them.
More than Words is one book I regret not reading ASAP. I highly recommend this book to everyone and recommend having tissues handy.
Emotional story from Mia Sheridan as usual. I’ve guessed the twist quickly but it doesn’t matter. There’s one magnificent scene at the end.
I finished this book so fast that I wish I didn't end! Mia Sheridan has written a beautiful story about second chances. I loved the setting as well as the characters because they feel relateable. Can't wait to read more of this author!
I went to start this book to find out, from a friend and other reviewers, the hero was not very worthy and the heroine saved her virginity for TEN years, while Callen was a man whore. I don't understand why Jessica was made to be a character who wasn't allowed to enjoy sex and had to pine away for Callen. Why couldn't she experience life instead of wasting it? Why couldn't he have kept it in his pants instead of banging every chick he saw? Why couldn't things have been written equally?
Heroines who are written this way annoy the ever loving day lights out of me. Seriously, they piss me off. So instead of going into this book knowing it isn't my cuppa, I'm going to call it quits.
Thank you for the opportunity. Sorry my feedback isn't more useful.
